Used to be so good. Hadn't been here in a couple of years. Ordered a Wednesday Special. Used to be $6.99 and now $8.99 which is fine if it's good. Got 2 B&C burritos, one with green sauce and both with extra cheese. Neither had green sauce. Both had no extra cheese on half of the burrito. It was all clumped at the bottom. And the paper the burritos were wrapped in was so greasy, I had to re-wrap in foil at home just to be able to hold it! No reason my bean and cheese burrito should be so greasy. I happened upon this place and needed something quick and easy. I ordered a carne asada burrito (no rice). I got a bean burrito, with some carne asada, but not alot, and a ton of green onions- not pico de gallo as you would typically have on a carne asada burrito, but green onion. Fortunately, I like green onion, but I'm sure not everybody is that big a fan. Something changed, and I don't like it. The ground beef isn't like it used to be. I'm getting the post covid Bakers vibe. The cutting corners vibe. It's affecting the flavor, and quality. I believe this is one of the few Taco Tia's left in existence, so it's a must, especially if you're a fast food enjoyer and want to experience something that has its roots in Taco Bell history. The restaurant is definitely aged, but that adds to its vintage charm. Service was friendly and fast. The hamburger taco is a must since this is an uncommon menu item. Super small, the carnitas were very salty. 6.50 for a salad smaller than a baseball. Bean and cheese burrito was flavorless. Something weird with the beans. Tried the hot sauce to see if it would help. Not a chance. Tasted like water. Had their taco burger which used to be good years ago. Again, disappointed. Nothing seemed fresh. They used to have a place in riverside that I frequented in high school. It was super inexpensive and hearty for a broke kid. Fast forward 25 years and still same great bean and cheese burrito! Taco Tia has a long history in Redlands and as a pioneer in the local fast food culture As such, tugs at the heart strings for a few in town. So when dining here, it's fast food dining as it was. The star of our meal was their hot sauce. It was liquid, like a taco sauce. While it had heat and hearty spices, it wasn't overly hot. It added the right amount of heat and flavor to the guacamole and tacos. We started with beef taquitos. There are 2 per order, and it comes with fresh guacamole. The taquito is a multiple layered rolled corn tortilla with a bit of shredded beef rolled up in side. It was thoroughly fried. It didn't have much flavor. The guac was okay. We also had the ground beef taco and the Carnitas hard shell taco. As you can see in the pics, these are the basic corn, thin-walled tortilla shell (not the square bottom shell). The Carnitas, by itself, was flavorful. Everything else was average and okay. A posted sign by the order window, on our visit, said they couldn't get certain ingredients, including shredded beef. So you may want to consider a backup item when ordering. read more

We use to go to the location that was on Van Buren Blvd bak in tha day as a treat, the food was BANGIN bak n then. So 30 years later I went to Redlands location and it was still nostalgic, same hot sauce recipe and BANGIN crunchy tacos. There's a reason why this place is not popular like it's competitors. Perhaps it's because they seem to only use onions and cilantro for flavor. There's an up charge for sauces. That alone just seems ridiculus. If you order a chicken burrito, expect the chicken burrito to be nothing but beans and a little bit of chicken. The ratio of chicken, guacamole and beans is totally off but they seem to feel that it's a good ratio. If you like spicy foods, come here. Taco Tia serves up some really good, family and budget friendly fast food. The staff are nice and the place is clean. The hard shell tacos are scrumptious and highly recommended....I like the carnitas hard shell tacos the best, along of course with a splash of the house red sauce. My guest had chicken tenders and fries, which were clearly dropped into the friar when we ordered them as they came out hotband fresh. The tenders were really good, and came with a hot sauce (like a Franks style wing sauce) and a ranch dressing. My preference is to use the house red sauce as it is really good. My other guest had a cheese quesadilla with a side of beans and rice and tbey were gobbled up. It was hard for me to not order a taco burger, but I really wanted the crunch today. People like to say bad things about this place but somehow it is still there since the 80s. I like it, it is good and same as it always was. Do I miss EDs and Nagules for sure! i've been eating at taco Tia since I was a little girl. It's an inland Empire staple, and there are items on this menu that you can't get anywhere! Some of their iconic items are the taco burger and their green burrito bean and cheese burriro. My personal favorite is the ground beef taco salad which I crave at least once a week! Their ground beef is the best taco meat of any restaurant on the planet! What makes this little fast food place so special is that they hand grate all the cheddar cheese, and prepare all the ingredients from scratch so it's like a real homemade kitchen.
