    Poulet Pesto
    Antonio R.

I actually found this place by accident. I was planning to grab a coffee, but when I walked in I realized a new restaurant had taken over the space. I'm glad it did. The display case was full of fresh pastries and baked goods that looked incredible, but I was in the mood for something more filling, so I ordered the #12 Poulet Pesto. It was absolutely delicious. The bread was toasted perfectly, the chicken was tender, and the pesto and creamy sauce brought everything together. They also served it with a side of what I think was a garlic aioli, and it was so good I ended up dipping every bite into it. The two employees working were genuinely friendly and attentive. I believe one of them may have been the owner, and you could tell they really cared about the customer experience. The menu has a great variety of sandwiches, pastries, and other items, so there's plenty I still want to try. This was an unexpected find, and I'll definitely be coming back.

Started off with a normal butter croissant, and i'll say it's really great! Buttery flavor, soft on the inside, and flaky/crispy on the outside. The chocolate croissant was also great, with similar textures. The service was efficient and the prices were reasonable. This bakery is located inside the Redlands Public Market; an indoor food hall but the bakery is located on the outer edge in a quieter area. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Free parking available across the railroad tracks.

We couldn't help ourselves, but to continue our food adventure with more desserts at Redlands Public Market (RPM) on Memorial Weekend 2026. Maison La Jolie (MLJ) was our #7 stop succeeding after #1 Shrimp Corner, #2 Yugo Shokunin, #3 Beyond Biryani, #4 Hen & Heifer, #5 Take Ur Seat Lite, and #6 Tsoko Cafe. MLJ was only a couple weeks old at RPM per the nice gentleman (I'm assuming he's the pastry chef) behind the glass of beautifully display of French pastries. They also sell sandwiches and drinks. We took a quick glance at all the pastries before deciding. I saw the Parisian Vanilla Flan for $8 and my youngest daughter saw the Mille Feuille for $9. Yes, prices were on the higher end, but it's a whole lot cheaper than flying to France to buy the French pastries. They came to us in Redlands so why not treat ourselves. Young lady who took our order was pleasant and nice. Vanilla flan was a huge slice. Texture was a bit denser than expected. I didn't find it sweet at all really. What I love most about it was the flaky crust... it was super yummy! Mille Feuille in French means "thousand leaves". It came with layers of crisp golden flaky puff pastry and rich pastry cream in between them. It had the perfect sweetness. An excellent choice! My daughter gave it a thumbs up. She does have an eye for sweets. For the French pastry connoisseur, MLJ is meant for you. Drop on by and support this new biz. We'll stop by again during our next RPM visit. Tips: Free parking garage at 101 W Stuart Ave. Walk to the market within a few minutes. Cross with the train tracks with care. Shared dining setting is available at food hall.

This establishment is run by two of the nicest people you will ever meet who were more than happy to give us suggestions which were delicious. I managed to snag the last of the croissants, a raspberry chocolate pastry and a pear tart. Do not sleep on the pear tart it is delicious and a great recommendation. This is an adorable café, located on the corner of the public market in Redlands where there are now quite a few wonderful eateries. Closest to Paris this side of California. I also love that this bakery is open after two, which most are not come early for the best selections.

Came on opening day and I was their first customer! The owners were so nice and you can tell we're very proud of the quality of their pastries. You can tell right away with their croissants that they use real French butter and flour. The texture is buttery and flaky. There pralines are such a treat! It has a great crunchy texture without sticking to your teeth. I can probably polish a bag by myself. I also sampled their French Madelines. The texture and sweetness is just right. Honestly there were so many other items in the case I want to try so I'll be back soon!

At first crunch you get the vanilla cream. Second comes the airy lemon orange cake. Ended the caramel crunch in the bottom.

I came in looking for a cake for a celebration of life. Automatically the eyes go to the familiar cakes. This beauty pulled me. I had to try. Did not disappoint. The vanilla pastry cream, airy orange cake, & crunch at the bottom. Yum! I picked up a few other baking accessories. The chef there is very nice. The pan holders I got make you feel like cooking with wine. Everything is very well pulled together to show a fun, light, coffee.

First time here. Picked up the last two fruit tarts. Good fruits, not overly sweet. Wish the crust was crispy but it could be because I didn't get to eat it till the following day. I'm excited to try more items.

Really impressed with the food and service here. We came in when they first opened and they had some challenges with their POS system, but that's to be expected with anything new. They've got it all dialed in and the food is fantastic. I'm looking forward to returning, trying more on the menu and sitting on the patio outside. Great addition to Redlands!

Fabulously French...and in Redlands! Tucked away in the peaceful northwest corner of RPM, this is a gem you don't want to miss! Owner Oliver and his daughter were very friendly and nice. We enjoyed the savory food and the delightful sweets. The croque monsieur made my mouth happy, and MDH declared the poulet pesto "delicious!" The Paris brest transported us back to Biarritz. Also took a slice of Parisian flan and Baba au Rhum to go. Will definitely be back!

Eclairs, Paris-Brest, Mille-fuille, lemon meringue tart, fruit tart, yummy chocolate hazelnut dessert.

This bakery is amazingly good. The day before Mother's Day we went down for lunch at the Market Place & decided to see if this bakery was open yet! It was! The lady and gentleman running it were so nice and friendly. We decided to order a large box full of the individual desserts, like eclairs, Paris Brest, fruit tart, lemon meringue tart, a cute chocolate treat, Mille-feuille, & almond croissants. We shared them with our daughter in law, son and grandsons on Mother's day & everyone had RAVE reviews! Yes, a bit pricey but I'm a mom and Grandma and I deserved something special! They also added some mini macarons to our beautiful box of goodies! I will definitely be back to try a sandwich, quiche & more yummy pastries!!

So this is the second week We have driven from Palm Springs to visit this Absolutely Delicious spot. Every passteri is more Fabulous than next. If you get a chance visit and You will be floored by the Quality of the some of the Best Desserts in Redlands.

    Also had the eclair.

Redlands finally has a legit French bakery!! My husband and I went to Redlands public market for dinner and found the sweetest French bakery by the sweetest couple. Their eclair and napoleon type dessert was amazing! So light and not overly sweet as many bakery's make them who are not trained in French style desserts. Can't wait to go back and try more.

Our favorite French restaurant, Le Gourmet in Upland closed in 2024 or 2025 so we needed to find a new French place. The lamb loin in lingonberry sauce was wonderfully complex with the savory cheese complemented well by the sweet lingonberry. The escargot was perfect. The only caveat was that we tried the pastries of the day -- one was a puff pastry, forgetting the flavor/name and some kind of cake, maybe Napoleon? We did not care for the desserts at all, if I were to get another dessert I'd probably stick with the crème brulée. The bread and salty whipped butter were delicious, seemed house-made? The bread was slightly sweet and I had to hold myself back from gorging on it. Parking: Parked in a nearby garage for $20. I think there was an event going on.

Like true Parisian style, you'll need to make a reservation because seating is limited and this spot is quite popular. My boyfriend and I were very fortunate they had a table available when we visited (we didn't know it was reservations-only) but the staff kindly seated us. Next time, I'll definitely call ahead. Right away, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming mother-daughter duo. They patiently walked us through the menu and shared the specials of the day. The chef himself came out to say hello and even took the time to explain a few items we were curious about. Soft French music plays in the background, creating such a calm, inviting atmosphere. *Plain Croissant: A perfect classic. Flaky on the outside, soft on the inside; it's exactly what you'd want from a traditional croissant. I'd come back just for their pastries alone, though this time I was excited to try their savory breakfast items. *Croque Monsieur: Absolutely delicious and wonderfully authentic. I ordered it with ham in the traditional style, and it came with creamy béchamel and melted cheese layered perfectly on top. The portion was generous and satisfying. You can add an egg to turn it into a Croque Madame. This came with a Provençal tomato and a potato pavé on the side, both of which were flavorful and beautifully prepared. The pavé, with its delicate layers, was such a standout. I haven't seen these sides offered at other French restaurants in the U.S., and I'd honestly return just for them. *Machaca Frances: My boyfriend ordered this dish, and it was such a pleasant surprise as a creative, well-executed blend of flavors. The short rib was incredibly tender, paired with potatoes, caramelized onions, and more, all wrapped up in a soft tortilla. The fresh pico, sauce, and avocado on top tied it all together perfectly. When my boyfriend mentioned he was eyeing this dish, the chef smiled and said the machaca filling was similar to beef bourguignon, and he was right! It had that same rich, deep, savory flavor. If they ever have actual beef bourguignon on the menu, I'd order it in a heartbeat based on how good this was. *Side salad: This had fresh greens, carrots, and caramelized onions, with oven-roasted tomatoes, and more, drizzled in a rich balsamic reduction. You could tell a lot of effort went into even the salad, and it tied the dishes together beautifully. This café really reminded me of France, which I miss so much. The space is clean, the atmosphere is warm, and you can tell the staff knows their regulars well. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like family as soon as you walk in. Spots like this are rare for both atmosphere and traditional French cuisine, especially around here, which makes Café La Reve feel even more special. I'm already planning my next visit to try their sweet breakfast options and maybe a lunch entrée. I saw in another review that they also offer dinner on Fridays by reservation, something I'm excited to experience soon. Thank you to the entire team for your kindness and hospitality. Café La Reve is a true gem, and I can't wait to come back.

First off, the ambience is great. The café is decorated with cute French-themed touches, and it has a cozy, inviting vibe. The employees were also friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. For food, I ordered a turkey sandwich. It was good overall--more of a torta-style sandwich with flavorful ingredients, served on toasted white bread. No complaints there. Unfortunately, the coffee was a letdown. I ordered the horchata latte, but it tasted like low-quality coffee. I didn't really get any horchata flavor--more like a watered-down vanilla/cinnamon latte. For dessert, I tried the key lime tart. It wasn't very sweet, and the crust was extremely dry. Considering it was almost $10 for a fairly small tart, it didn't feel worth the price. Speaking of price, the overall cost felt overpriced for what you get. I paid around $30 for a sandwich, coffee, and tart, which felt steep given the quality of the items I tried. Service timing was another issue. A group came in after me, and my order wasn't started until after they took everyone else's order. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but I was in a bit of a hurry, and it ended up holding me up longer than expected. That said, it does seem like crepes are their main specialty, and judging by other reviews, those might be worth trying. If you're going specifically for crepes, it may still be worth a visit. However, based on my experience with the sandwich, coffee, and dessert, I personally wouldn't return. I genuinely wish them the best as a small business--it just wasn't for me.
