Carne asada, mr. Potatoe, veggi taco

Came in after a long night at the hospital. We were seated immediately. Started with drinks I got a tamarindo $4.99. Horchata $4.99, kids lemonade. Tamarindo was really sweet, too sweet for me I asked our kind waitress Ana if I could just have water as it was too sweet. She kindly removed it from my bill and was very apologetic. My daughter ordered a shredded chicken bowl (not pictured, I forgot, sorry) $12.99 she enjoyed it. My tacos were good not quite the authentic I am used to from CA but it got the job done for starved tummies. Total bill $30. A few cents cheaper for cash payment. A plus for me! Inside was spacious very colorful. All in all Ana was great.

The restaurant seemed recently updated very nice on the inside. The staff was very friendly and our service was super fast. All of the food was great and they even had some fun trivia going on when we went on Monday night. The burritos are huge they fed my fiancé for two or three meals and everything is yummy, best margarita I've had in a while!

Celebrating great food, drink and camaraderie!

They were slammed when we arrived on a Sunday evening, however they were doing it right- they were quick to bring out chips to every table, getting drinks quickly and running around making sure everyone was taken care of! The food was on point and we had a great time: the had top shelf margaritas on special for $8.99 - delicious with both a fresh orange and lime squeezed in it! We got the queso, the kids got rice, chicken tenders and fries; and I got the delicious steak quesadilla (big enough to share) my husband loves the queso Birria taco ! A must get!

This location is in a plaza that is undergoing construction. We went on a weekday and it wasn't busy. We were immediately greeted and seated. The hostess was very nice and took our orders quickly. The menu has all sorts of offerings from tacos to burritos to enchiladas. Since I'm vegetarian and love enchiladas, I went with the enchilada supreme platter that comes with 3 enchiladas with red sauce. It also comes with refried beans and rice. My husband ordered some meat tacos. The food came out super fast like it was already prepared which is fine. My husband liked his tacos but my enchiladas were not good on any level. The red sauce it was drenched in was watery. The rice and beans had no flavor no seasoning, just tasted very bland. The enchiladas were topped with lettuce which was just strange as it just makes the enchiladas more soggy. Overall, avoid everything but the tacos. This place is known for their tacos and just stick with that. Good customer service but the food for me was no bueno.

Look at ALL this delicious shrimp. Seasoned to perfection.

Great staff...very inviting. Tuesday is Taco Night, and Happy Hour. Chips and salsa are brought out immediately. Salsa is very good, with the right amount of kick. The Shrimp Salad is perfect at $13.99.

There is a small covered area but it's mostly high top seats for a few people. But this is a neighborhood spot feels like you're eating in your backyard. If you're grabbing to go, check their website. Sometimes it's not open, but normally you can order ahead and pay online. So when you arrive you can pick up at the pick up window. The woman ahead of me only waited 45 minutes before discovering her order had simply ceased to exist. Lost ticket, no food, and a friendly invitation to wait even longer. So really, my 40-minute wait felt like I hit the express lane. And the grand finale? The food finally arrives--after nearly an hour of anticipation--and it's...painfully average. Cold Midwest refugees, meet your Mexican savior (with a side of nostalgia)…read more We were visiting from -- or more accurately, escaping -- the frozen Midwest to soak up the magic of St. Augustine's Night of Lights. Magical? Yes. Crowded? Also yes. Parking? A full-contact sport. So we did what any rational, slightly hangry tourists would do: asked ChatGPT for a local favorite with parking that wouldn't make us cry. Enter Cantina Louie -- and honestly, bless this place. First impressions: the atmosphere is a little kitschy, cute, and refreshingly simple. Nothing pretentious, nothing trying too hard. In fact, we were about 90% sure it used to be an old Pizza Hut -- you know, the Pizza Hut -- with the iconic red roof. And honestly? That just unlocked a wave of childhood nostalgia. Somewhere between ordering breadsticks in the '90s and now ordering margaritas as adults, it all came full circle. Now, the food. We ordered La Parrilla, which arrived like it had something to prove. Fajita chicken, pulled pork, carne asada, steak carne asada, and Mexican street corn all piled together in a sizzling, aromatic flex. Every bite made us pause, look at each other, and ask, "Wait... is THIS the best one?" Spoiler: we never decided. As if that wasn't enough, we added the appetizer sampler, because self-control was not on the itinerary. Two enchiladas, mini taquitos, pineapple pork al pastor, avocado, salsa, and guacamole -- basically a greatest-hits album of Mexican comfort food. And the salsa? Unreal. We debated drinking it. With a straw. No shame. Let's talk value. All that food came in under $40. Under. Forty. Dollars. In a tourist town. During peak season. Somewhere, an accountant wept tears of joy. To hydrate (for science), we ordered two 1850 margaritas -- one classic, one strawberry. Both were generously sized, dangerously smooth, and absolutely doing the Lord's work. One sip in and we forgot all about traffic, crowds, and the cold Midwest we left behind. Final verdict: Cantina Louie didn't just save us from parking chaos -- it fed us, watered us, and gave us a warm hug of Pizza Hut nostalgia. If you're in St. Augustine during Night of Lights and don't want to wrestle a parking meter for tacos, this is the move. We came for the lights. We stayed for the salsa.
