Chicharrón en cama de guacamole fresco hecho por "Diablo" - A dish featuring fried pork belly pieces garnished with lime wedges is presented on a black stone plate placed on a round wooden serving board. The table also has a glass of water, a glass of soda, and a small bowl of salsa. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment, with a hand and part of a napkin visible in the background.

Since Daniel, Juan, and Diablo revamped this place... it's amazing the treatment, the food made with love y'all need to get the Chicharrón con guacamole fresco!

A baby with a cheerful expression, showing a missing front tooth, is sitting in a high chair at a restaurant. The baby is wearing a bib with a blue and white checkered pattern and is holding a tortilla chip. The background features a dimly lit restaurant interior with wooden tables, chairs, and other diners.

Cinco is one of our go-to restaurants! We go a few times a month. We always have great service, the food is always warm and flavorful, and they're mindful of food allergies. My family enjoys that it isn't overly loud inside and we are able to enjoy each other and conversation.

Best Mexican food in all of the Saint Augustine area hands down! I'm from the border of Matamoros/Reynosa and this is the only place that tastes like home. The best and we have been searching! Every single time we come we order something else and every time we are so happy. It's so cute inside too!

A receipt from Cinco de Mayo restaurant in St. Augustine, FL, dated December 27, 2023, at 6:32 PM, shows an order including quesabirria, a side beans, and soft drinks, with a subtotal of $28.76. The receipt includes the restaurant's address, phone number, and a thank you message. The receipt is placed on a wooden surface, with part of a dollar bill visible at the bottom right corner.

Nice little restaurant near Palencia, it mentioned authentic, but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I ordered quesabirria tacos they were good but the cheese was off, It would have been better with Mexican cheese or queso fresco. The conzume was good, and flavorful. I did a side of refried beans those were okay, I've had better. We also ordered two horchatas. Now horchata needs to nail it, since it is so simple to make. Here it tasted like the one in a packet that processes in a machine. I could be wrong but I am from California and know my authentic mexican food, from family friends, and a select few places that really nail the dishes, and flavors. Here I give 4 stars for excellent customer service. Despite becoming extra busy after I was seated, they still managed to be attentive.

Dining room - The image shows a dining area inside a Mexican restaurant with several patrons seated at tables and booths. The wall features a mural with illustrations and the word 'Jalisco.' Pendant lights hang from the ceiling, and a television screen displays colorful food. The floor is tiled, and the overall setting appears casual and family-oriented.

Coming from Texas and tons of great Mexican we were impresses. Good margaritas and queso. I ordered enchiladas with pork on it. Way too much for me. I should have had mole enchiladas. Getting mole right is a great feat. So next time!

Skirt shrimp taco amazing - The image shows two tacos on a white plate, one topped with beef, cheese, and a green pepper, and the other with chopped chicken, cilantro, and a sauce. There is a basket of tortilla chips with a paper liner and a small bowl of salsa on a wooden bar counter. A fork and knife are placed on a napkin in the foreground, and various bottles and bar equipment are visible in the background.

Multiple disposable aluminum and plastic containers with salads, including lettuce and tomato, are placed on a dark wooden dining table. Gold-colored plastic utensils, including spoons and forks, rest on the containers. A glass of ice water with ice cubes is also visible. The background features various condiments, bottles, and small items, indicating a casual dining or takeout setting.

Ordered a large take out order over the weekend. Everything came fresh, hot and delicious. Our order ranged from a mixed fajita, veggie fajitas, steak tacos, quesadillas to rice and beans. Great job!

One of the coolest touches? A TV disguised as a piece of art that's actually a live stream of downtown St. Augustine. Such a fun, unique detail! Now let's talk food I ordered the shrimp and grits tacos, and WOW--they were packed with flavor. The grits added this unexpected crunch that worked so well with the shrimp. The textures blended perfectly and made every bite interesting. My husband went for the Miyagi beef tacos... and let's just say there were zero leftovers. He cleaned his plate, which says everything. The menu is where things get especially interesting--unique, playful, and definitely not your standard fare. I tried the chicken apple pie sandwich, which was as unexpected as it sounds. It was fun, different, and surprisingly good! It is one of those dishes you won't find just anywhere. Husband loved his upscale bologna sandwich and the waffle fries were yummy! She seemed like she was always eager to leave the table, but then go talk to other employees. I needed to get up from my table to look for hot sauce. It's a Mexican restaurant, so I thought it might be offered to me or easy to find. Food-- everything tasted great! Presentation was on point, and the chips and salsa were delicious as well. This is food for the Americanized palate, so there isn't a ton of heat anywhere, including the salsa. Drinks-- I had thr Spicy Watermelon Margarita and it was perfect! Great flavor, with the right amount of heat. And on Tuesdays its only $6.99! I should have ordered a double though!

Cold Midwest refugees, meet your Mexican savior (with a side of nostalgia)…read more We were visiting from -- or more accurately, escaping -- the frozen Midwest to soak up the magic of St. Augustine's Night of Lights. Magical? Yes. Crowded? Also yes. Parking? A full-contact sport. So we did what any rational, slightly hangry tourists would do: asked ChatGPT for a local favorite with parking that wouldn't make us cry. Enter Cantina Louie -- and honestly, bless this place. First impressions: the atmosphere is a little kitschy, cute, and refreshingly simple. Nothing pretentious, nothing trying too hard. In fact, we were about 90% sure it used to be an old Pizza Hut -- you know, the Pizza Hut -- with the iconic red roof. And honestly? That just unlocked a wave of childhood nostalgia. Somewhere between ordering breadsticks in the '90s and now ordering margaritas as adults, it all came full circle. Now, the food. We ordered La Parrilla, which arrived like it had something to prove. Fajita chicken, pulled pork, carne asada, steak carne asada, and Mexican street corn all piled together in a sizzling, aromatic flex. Every bite made us pause, look at each other, and ask, "Wait... is THIS the best one?" Spoiler: we never decided. As if that wasn't enough, we added the appetizer sampler, because self-control was not on the itinerary. Two enchiladas, mini taquitos, pineapple pork al pastor, avocado, salsa, and guacamole -- basically a greatest-hits album of Mexican comfort food. And the salsa? Unreal. We debated drinking it. With a straw. No shame. Let's talk value. All that food came in under $40. Under. Forty. Dollars. In a tourist town. During peak season. Somewhere, an accountant wept tears of joy. To hydrate (for science), we ordered two 1850 margaritas -- one classic, one strawberry. Both were generously sized, dangerously smooth, and absolutely doing the Lord's work. One sip in and we forgot all about traffic, crowds, and the cold Midwest we left behind. Final verdict: Cantina Louie didn't just save us from parking chaos -- it fed us, watered us, and gave us a warm hug of Pizza Hut nostalgia. If you're in St. Augustine during Night of Lights and don't want to wrestle a parking meter for tacos, this is the move. We came for the lights. We stayed for the salsa.

Unbeknownst to us, there was no crosswalk to cross the busy Ponce de Leon boulevard. Mom isn't as spry as she once was so we didn't risk crossing without a crosswalk, so we had to walk another 1/4 or so to the nearest crosswalk then doubled back to the restaurant. Located in the The Ponce St. Augustine hotel, the restaurant is just to the left of the main doors. We had to wait a bit to get seated as the lone server had to clean a table first. Service was slow. I ordered the Bistec a Caballo (medium), my wife tried their Pork de Leon with fries and my mom opted for the Inca bowl. Did I say service was slow? Our orders weren't synched up. My order and my wife's sandwich were served first and we had to wait a few minutes before my mom's dish was served. My wife liked her sandwich and fries although she thought the shredded pork was a bit dry. My mom liked the flavors of her dish, with tender cuts of meat and smoky soy sauce flavor. The Bistec a Caballo had decent flavors BUT that steak was tough, even ordered medium. I felt like I was cutting through shoe leather cutting it with the serrated knife. Slow service and a tough steak bumped our rating down. We just couldn't overlook the quality and/or preparation of my steak, even with good flavors. Lunch for 3 came out to just over $67 with tip. Oh yeah, they add a surcharge for credit card payments.
