My husband called ahead to make a reservation for a Friday afternoon, and we ended up being the first ones there at 1 PM. Not sure if that's the earliest reservation they offer, but it was nice having the room to ourselves initially. Afternoon tea is served in a separate room next to the pub/bar area. Our server was friendly and started by bringing us the tea menu along with little jars of the different teas so we could actually smell them before making our selections. Such a nice touch! We each got to choose our own tea. One thing to note is that the tea isn't unlimited like it is at some other afternoon tea experiences. You get one mug per person, so don't expect continuous refills. For the sandwiches, I believe there were about six different options. I went with the roast beef, which came with a really good aioli sauce, but unfortunately, the roast beef itself was very stringy. Every time I took a bite, it seemed like half the sandwich came along with it, making it difficult to bite through. Definitely required some extra chewing! Haha My husband ordered the turkey sandwich, which he really enjoyed. Now, onto the baked items... this was probably the most disappointing part of our experience. The assortment we received seemed a little random, and unfortunately, several items tasted stale and dry, including the chocolate cake. The scones, however, were very good! I do want to mention that my husband had called ahead and informed them of my allergies to cherries, almonds, peaches, and apples. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with the assortment we received, or if they had to put something together last minute to accommodate me. However, as more guests arrived and received their afternoon tea, I noticed their baked assortments included strawberries and other items that looked much fresher and more thoughtfully put together. It was a little disappointing to see, especially since some of those items appeared to be things I could have enjoyed as well. Of course, I can't say for certain why our selections were different, but it was something I noticed. As for the atmosphere, the afternoon tea room is really cute! It's decorated with lots of tea-themed items and would be a lovely setting for a small, intimate gathering or anyone who simply enjoys the experience of afternoon tea. The pub area itself is cozy, and I noticed they seem to host quite a few fun events, including trivia nights. A couple of things to know: They have separate men's and women's restrooms, and street parking can be a little tricky since you're right in downtown St. Augustine. Just give yourself some extra time, and eventually, a spot should open up. Would I come back? Yes, I'd give them another try!
