This is A-OK for a hotel bar that is attached to a kind of shabby hotel. The bar area is pretty tiny and the table area is not very large either. However, they have a decent wine selection and their food looks yummy and dank. So if you're looking for a burger or some kind of comfort food this place will definitely suit your needs. They close pretty early (10pm) so don't expect to make a night of this place. Just a solid place to come if you don't want to leave your hotel and you want to grab some food and a drink. read more

This is not much more than a hotel bar/restaurant. We were staying at the connecting hotel. It was happy hour and we needed cocktail and a snack after a long drive. We sat at the bar. We were the only ones in whole place, yet it took forever to get some service. The menu is a collection of every food trend in the last 5 years. All over done and outdated. Nothing new or exciting. Table 7 is a great place to order when you are working late downtown and want something a bit healthier. My first time, I ordered the artichoke and spinach stuffed chicken with sautéed spinach and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were simple and firm with a nice lightly roasted flavor. The chicken had a good flavor which, in my opinion, was given by the quality of the ingredients used in the dish. The artichoke was tender and provided a nice burst of flavor every now and then, while the spinach lent a lighter, more pervasive flavor. On my second visit, I ordered the Chicago Pork Chop which was just as good as the chicken on my first visit. It was tender, juicy and cooked just between the perfect pink that pork must be and the white where there is still the perfect amount of juiciness. We stayed at Club Quarters Hotel which has Table 7 right off the lobby so convenience played a large part in our decision to have dinner here. We sat at the bar and were two of the only dozen other diners at the restaurant on a Sunday around 6p. The menu choices were definitely limited, but we had salmon pappardelle and Parmenides encrusted chicken both were pasta bowls. Both were good. Without a car, my choices were a bit limited, and I usually avoid dining in hotel bistros, but this place was very good, no matter the meal! I met the lady who owns it and she was very nice. Went here with a group from work. Service was pretty brusque and clunky. The service was lazy. Water or iced tea were occasionally refilled (when asked) but without any ice. Asked a few times for ice but eventually gave up. Service just had not attention to detail. They wanted to get in and out with the least effort possible. Food was similar. Poor quality, and not even interesting. Had the worst steak in recent memory. Cooked poorly, no flavor,etc. Lots of burger choices on the menu, but I don't think anyone on our table was interested in finishing them. Ketchup was provided in little plastic lidded containers, etc. They didn't even seem to be trying. With so many great places to eat in Houston, within walking distance of this place even, don't waste your time and $ here. Can't say I was terribly impressed by this place. Came here with a group of 6 prior to seeing the Lion King at Hobby Center. We ordered the foie gras sausage bruschetta and the artichoke spinach dip to start with. The bruschetta was decent, the spinach dip was quite good (mostly due to the naan chips they served with it!). Happy hour pricing on wine led to a $6 glass of the house sauv blanc that was quite tasty. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi picatta for my meal. Pros: The serving size is quite big so I had leftovers. Cons: It didn't taste good at all so I think those leftovers are going to waste. The sauce was horribly oversalted, with little flavor outside of the salt, and the mahi mahi was, well, dry and chewy. Mahi mahi isn't supposed to be like that! On the bright side the noodles were delectably al dente. But it's a sad day when the only nice thing I can think to say is how well-cooked the friggin' noodles were. Service was slow and a bit standoffish at first, despite the lack of other customers, but probably because there was only one waiter for the place. Once we told him we were trying to make a show at the Hobby Center, though, he became much more attentive and efficient, and got us out the door in a timely manner. Unfortunately, despite the decent appetizers and service, I won't be coming back. Table 7 is really easy to miss. It literally is a boutique restaurant tucked in the corner of Club Quarters Hotel. Red being the signature color really gave a pop to this low key establishment. I visited 7 on a Saturday afternoon so it was not busy, we were one out of three of the parties there. They have a nice size menu that ranges from Kobe beef burgers, salads and pastas. We started out with the Flat Foccacia Bread, something that reminded me of bruschetta. It was foccacia bread, sprinkled with tomatoes, basil and grated Parmesan cheese. So fresh and very refreshing. This was served with a mint pesto sauce. I just wish that the foccacia was toasted to add a little texture. For lunch I chose the Parmesan Crusted Chicken Pasta. So big I knew I was taking half togo. I loved it! This dish had a great light flavor, the chicken was sliced and crispy. You have the choice of marinara or pesto sauce. They have a pretty good happy hour: 1/2 off apps and $2 wells and beer. There are no beers on tap. They also do private parties that are held in the basement of the hotel. Staying in the hotel Club Quarters and wanted to grab an easy bite and watch the Pats game. Sat down at 9:30-restaraunt closes at 10:30...all is good. Our waitresses were great...food just okay. the manager that was working last night was AWFUL! He clearly wanted to be off work so proceeded to ask us to settle our bill before we were done with our drinks and dessert (it was 10:15) and THEN had the nerve to turn off the TV we were watching the game on with about 3 minutes left! WTF?! Worst customer service by a manager I've ever experienced. Again, I just want to say the servers were great! The food was okay: I had an Ahi Salad that was good but not great. The cut of fish was a bit gristly (not right word for fisth but hopefully you get the meaning) and the pesto dressing they use doesn't really work with the salad. My friend's Mahi was cooked perfectly though although again, same dressing. Their beer selection sucks too which was disappointing....Overall, I would probably have rated the place higher if it wasn't for the awful manager! read more

Old Fashioned was great - however I've had higher quality liquor old fashioned's for less than $13. That's not the bartenders fault however, as it was probably one of the best I've ever had. Okay so I was here on a Sunday night (5/4/14) and maybe that's the problem. The front line cooks may not have been in the kitchen. I ordered the "focaccia" bread which was more like pita bread with some tomatoes on it and some ricotta pesto on the side. Not worth $4. I have to admit through Ricotta pesto was pretty good but the pita bread was barely warm, thin and totally not like a focaccia. I also ordered shrimp linguine and that was not very flavorful at all, except for the pepper flakes. It was more like a shrimp Fra Diavolo. It seemed like the linguini was not cooked in a salted water because it was very bland and not very satisfying. I have to say the shrimp was cooked pretty well, however it also was not season very well. If you are stuck in the Club Quarters hotel, this may be your choice, but--for the money--I'd go someplace else. Not 1-star bad, but not good. read more

We went to this for breakfast. As far as "a place in the hotel to grab breakfast" foes, it was adequate. Like it beats Denny's. But my migas weren't seasoned at all--not even pepper--and the rest of my breakfast was "eh." It also took forever despite there being all of 3 people in there and we hadn't ordered anything fancy. You're not going to get food poisoning or anything and it may be more of a lunch or dinner place but you can give this one a miss unless you don't want to leave the hotel. read more

Horrible service. I ordered breakfast and waited for 40 minutes. There was one guy, somewhat waiting on people. The man sitting next to me impatiently tapping his credit card on the counter wasn't pleased and looking around I realized I wasn't the only one suffering with an empty drink. Because of my lengthy wait, I had to go get my belongings from my room because of check out, so I let the server know I'd be back. My drinks were removed from the counter when I returned and the server didn't acknowledge me, so after 10 minutes I left. There were 7 tables occupied and 6 people at the bar. I realize that's a lot of people for one person. So shame on the management, but this guy had no personality or customer service skills. When someone did get the opportunity to ask for something, he wasn't friendly or empathetic to their needs and wait, he just came across as if their request was inconveniencing him. The AC next door has a much nicer restaurant and staff, as well as the Marriott across the street. The CQ on the other hand is a fantastic hotel, it's too bad they have to be associated with this horrible wannabe restaurant.... read more

My colleague wanted to go here for lunch on a Friday. There were a few tables in the resturant but not too many. The bartendar, VANESSA, came to our table within 3 minutes but we were not ready to order. We sat there for another 15 minutes before she came back to us and placed our orders. Service was very slow and Vanessa had an attitude for whatever reason. Just because you get in the "weeds" does not mean you show your frustration to paying guests. My friend had a burger and they did not bring her fries. She asked for fries and they came out 20 minutes later, but at that point, she was already done. She said she didn't want them anymore. Hey management! Pay attention to the reviews here. I'm here as a crew member on a layover. I didn't choose this location to eat. I'm pressed for time and stuck at this hotel. Restaurant staff and bartenders have tondo a couple of things: greet customers. Offer menus. Sell sell sell. If you can't remember the order, write it down. If you mess it up, FIX IT IMMEDIATELY. My pork chop was tough, the Brussels sprouts were Carmelites but not enough to bring out the sugars. It was bitter and flavorless. Oh yea, I didn't order it. The bartender asked to take my plate back to fix it. I said no, with the intent to eat the Brussels sprouts anyway. She did bring me a side of the sautéed spinach which I ordered. It was good, but since I did not know it was coming, I had nearly eaten all of my meal. Bringing it saved a one star review. Next time I'll risk the night walk to the Flying Saucer and not eat here again. Train your staff for service or this place will be closed soon. read more

I love Rob! He was hands down the best bar tender I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. His expertise and customer service was second to none. He also went out of his way multiple times to provide the best customer experience Out of all the restaurants I experienced while travelling for business in Houston. I can't recommend Rob Rhagetti as much as he deserves but I wanted to give him a shout out for his dedication to customer satisfaction and general outgoing disposition. I can't wait to come back to Houston to spend more time at Club Quarters, and he sure deserves a raise! We decided to go back for a second night and met Alisha - they sure know how to hire people. Another amazing bar tender with second to none service. What a quality spot with great people. It's nice when you can tell that a bar takes care of their employees. Based just on food and atmosphere, I would have given Table 7 Bistro 2 or 3 stars. The spinach artichoke dip was fine, nothing special although the fresh hot pita chips were a nice touch. The Parmesan Chicken Pasta was very disappointing. It was basically a grilled chicken breast (not panko breaded as advertised) on a bed of linguine and bland tomato sauce. The kobe burger was good. It was cooked as ordered though didn't come with many different toppings. The fries were once again very mediocre. The atmosphere was also pretty nice, although if you were sitting at the wrong angle you were staring right into the ugly kitchen. What made this one star for us was the service and restaurant policy in regard to a restaurant.com gift certificate. First off, as mentioned by others, the service was absolutely terrible. Our waitress would disappear for extended periods of time when there were only two other people in the restaurant. What really irked me though was that they would not accept my restaurant.com gift certificate. I was told that there was a mix up with the website and that the restaurant wasn't suppose to be listed and only offered $10 off my bill (vs $25 from my certificate). However the restaurant is still listed on restaurant.com and has not been removed by the owners who the manager told me supposedly made the mistake. Something here was really fishy and wrong. Even if they made a mistake (which I don't think is the case), there should be a sign somewhere saying that they no longer are accepting the certificates as well as contact with restaurant.com saying that they no longer will accept these in which restaurant.com will and always has given a refund and voided the gift certificate. Needless to say I will not be returning or recommending any of their restaurants anytime soon. --------------------------------------------- UPDATE (4/3/2011): So I got a message from the owners via yelp. At first I thought it was going to be something along the lines of apologizing for the poor service and maybe is offering to recognize the certificate in a chance to try to give the restaurant a second chance and change my opinion(which would have been smart move). Instead I got something very different. As you can see below, they take all responsibility from themselves for the gift certificates (which i don't believe) and further recommended that I call all restaurants ahead of time to see if they are accepting the certificates. Unfortunately http://restaurant.com has always been nice and reasonable to me and they have not so when they try to make them seem like the bad guys its not going to happen. Secondly they said I should have sent back my chicken breast and essentially that it was my fault for not doing this resulting in my poor dish. How about you make the food right the first time instead of sending out poor food and waiting to see if the customer sends it back? Third they said they were making good on any certificate that came in until the matter was resolved. This is VERY untrue. I fought with the manager for 10 minutes about my gift certificate and he did not budge, only offering a portion of it. After now interacting with the owners, I would not want anyone to have to deal with this place of business. Also below is the actual message received from them: ---------------------------------- Chris - Good Afternoon - After finally getting this page unlocked to respond to your comments about Restaurant.Com certificates. I first would like to express that we as the owners did not sign up with http://resturant.com. Our resturants were falsely placed on there site! We had no idea of these certificates being purchased until later on. We have been fighting for months to have them removed - which http://resturant.com still has not done so as of yet. I apologize for your inconvenience you recieved at the Bistro. I would strongly recommend calling the place of business to make sure they are accepting them. There not telling how many other places that this happened to. I would also recommnedhttp://Restuant.com refunding your money back. http://Resturant.com has completely made us the bad guys on this ! We are making it good on any certificates that do come until this matter is resolved. Went there the other day for happy hour since I was downtown and was pleasantly surprised. It's a place you'd probably pass up because it's small, but it's worth a trip inside. When I was there, the place was empty, I was the only one. I thought this may be sign that the food isn't good and was tempted to go somewhere else so I could socialize, but I had already paid for parking on the street and it was rush hour, so I stayed. I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of their house sparkling wine which was $6 a glass (other wines were around $9-$10 a glass). I asked if they offered any happy hour specials on any drinks and was told no, only on food. The specially priced drinks for happy hour were only available at their other restaurant, District 7 Grill. The bartender proceeded to give me a menu of the food that's complimentary during happy hour and to just place my order. There were a few choices such as BBQ Chicken Pizza, Sausage and Pepper Pizza, to Black Bean & Feta Cheese Tostada. I ordered a Sausage and Pepper Pizza from the complimentary bar menu and from their specially priced happy hour appetizer menu, I ordered BBQ Shrimp which was $10 (a bit pricey IMO). It took maybe 15 min for my food to come out and I must say, it was pretty awesome. The Sausage and Pepper Pizza was a personal size pizza with a flat/thin crust and was perfectly cooked. The BBQ Shrimp was very good. The shrimp are huge and it's about 8 or 9 shrimp that are seasoned in a batter and fried and then drenched in a BBQ sauce. There's a dipping sauce that's served along side with it in addition to this yummy lemon/garlic slaw. The only thing that would have made this dish perfect would have been if they would have lightly coated the shrimp in their BBQ sauce instead of it swimming in sauce. Next time though, I'll stick with the complimentary menu and order drinks because the appetizer menu has items that are mainly around $9-$10, not very happy hour friendly at all. The place has the potential to be a great spot for happy hour, I just don't think many people know about it. The decor is contemporary with red and yellow toned paintings along the walls and small bistro tables in the bar area and a long booth along side the window. I didn't go in the main dining area, but from where I was sitting at the bar, it looked to be nice from a distance. I asked the bartender does Table 7 Bistro ever have a crowd for happy hour because I would love to come back, he told me it varies but there's not really a set day where it's packed, it just happens when it happens. I thought to myself, that's a shame because though the food was good, what would have made it better was to be able to socialize with other happy hour goers. So now that I'm telling you all about it, hopefully you all will tell others, and the cycle will go on and on lol. Anyway, did I mention that my total bill for that afternoon was over $90? On top of bill at Table 7, I ended up getting a parking citation on my car because the time had expired on my parking ticket. So the hour wasn't all that happy, but I'll surely go back again and bring a bunch of friends so we can have a great time. read more

I was a happy little downtown worker bee when I found out about Table 7. Same menu as District 7 but within walking distance! I have immensely enjoyed every dish I've gotten here, i.e., the buffalo burger, ahi tuna burger, and ahi tuna salad. This is a great, reasonably priced lunch spot. It's a solid pick to meet up with friends, co-workers, or even for a solo lunch ... you can sit at the bar and enjoy some CNN on their flat screen. I heart Table 7. read more

I tried this place for lunch for the first time today, and it was a solid choice. The food ranges from pastas and pizzas, to burgers and sandwiches, to salads and soups. I had the crusted chicken parmigiana linguine and it was very good. My coworker had the turkeye meatloaf lasagna, and that was tasty as well. And it's reasonably priced--my lunch was about $12.
