    Espresso martini

Delicious espresso martinis are hard to come by but this place excelled at making them! My husband and I stopped by to have a drink and say at the bar. This is a small intimate restaurant nestled in the side of a hotel. Our waitress was very prompt and nice. She assumed I wanted a margarita which I thought was hilarious. I am such a stickler for espresso martini's. Sometimes they are made too warm for my liking but it was perfect. For my entree the Parmesan crusted chicken called to me. It was delicious, very flavorful. I wanted to order another. I would say this is a great place to grab a drink & bite after work or to have an intimate conversation. I would come back here.

It was a busy Sunday morning but we were seated promptly, our waitress was great and our host too, it was quite the busy morning and had no reservation but they were able to fit us in with no issues! We had our anniversary brunch and we loved EVERYTHING! We ordered the French toast plate which comes with eggs, sausage and potatoes, like yum!! My husband ordered eggs benedict and he loved them too. Thanks for making this a special occasion, I loved the decor and ambience

I came after Christmas and we were the only people ! So the food and everything was fast. We had coffee but it wasn't hot, I'm assuming because there wasn't any customers. The waitress was nice. The food tasted good. Nothing exceptional. They do not carry dairy free milk options such as almond, soy, etc. just half and half. The ambiance is okay. The kitchen is connected to the hotel.

Unfortunately, I HAVE to give this bistro just 3 stars. First, almost every single table had dirty dishes left on them. After finding a table, our server wiped it down advertantly leaving behind a wet, musty smell. I think the towel she used was dirty? Also, the food was basically thrown together and lacked real flavor. It did look like they were short-staffed so perhaps that's why our wait was so long, but that doesn't mean our server can't ask if we want our coffee refilled when she does come by. I also noticed a couple came in, sat down, waited for a server that never came so they got up and walked out. Yikes!

So I found this restaurant on best local breakfast. I had the A la carte bacon, cheese grits and home fried potatoes. The breakfast was hot and amazing. The flatware wasn't the cleanest, but the server was friendly. You can see the cook making your meal if you sit by the bar and the food came fast. It was quiet when I went but the area is calm and quiet.

Pretty good lunch spot in the heart of downtowns law firms and business adventures. I've been twice and both times the experience have been pleasant. I enjoy a nice quiet and calm restaurant & would definitely return again. I took my team for a quick lunch before the holidays and the menu didn't disappoint. Service was quick, prompt & attentive.

Cute decor by the bar. Love the detailing of ambiance.

Service was amazing-- we loved our waiter who was a combination of polite, funny, and knowledgeable, and everyone gave us a smile. All the dishes were beautifully presented and flavorful but definitely on the heavier side. - Beet salad (5/5)-- wow, never had a beet salad like this one before! So much flavor with a tanginess from vinegar sweetened by the blueberries and beets. The beets didn't taste very earthy (aka like dirt) compared to most beet salad. This was really well executed :) - Caesar salad (3.5/5)-- Credence's spin on Caesar, which according to my Caesar salad pro diner, didn't really taste like Caesar salad. Also very tangy and tart but the pro still enjoyed it as a salad dish. - Roasted cabbage (4/5)-- big fan of the way they roasted this, perfect tenderness without being cabbage mush! Definitely a heavy dish, especially for a vegetable option, as it was swimming in a butter cream sauce that started to congeal as it cooled off. Would choose this more as an indulgent appetizer rather than a healthy veggie option. I wonder if one could ask for the sauce on the side... - Tuna tostada (3.5/5)-- if you like strong flavors, this one packs a punch. The gochujang aioli beneath the tuna is really concentrated, making it difficult to taste the actual tuna. There's a bit of heat but thankfully I wouldn't say it was spicy. Fun to try. The tostada itself was very dense and almost a bit bread-y versus a crispy chip texture. - Crab fried rice (4/5)-- comes with lobster foam that is mixed table side and a generous amount of crabmeat lumps. The rice actually had a nice texture without being too... grainy / individualized, but it was too salty for me. - Akaushi Wagyu beef (4.5/5)-- loved the texture which was tender but with some chew (was expecting more of a melt-in-the-mouth texture though) and the veggies that it came with. It was heavily salted, too much so for me. Would've been perfect with less salt since there's already a chimichurri sauce with it. - Peanut butter tart (4.5/5)-- peanut butter lovers rejoice! The chocolate filling was rich, thick, and sweet which was complemented nicely with the whipped cream (not sweet at all). The peanut flavor really shined. The crust didn't have much of a taste by itself and was sandy in texture, not sure if on purpose or over-baked and dried out. Either way, the tart looked impressive when it arrived and was delectable-- my favorite bite of the night! Overall a nice experience! Although there was a mess up and the rest of our two salads and crab rice wasn't packed with our other food to take home; I was pretty sad about that since it was quite a bit of food (and $$). I might return for that peanut butter tart, but everything else was too heavy and too salty for me. I'm personally not a huge butter fan, but if you are, definitely make a reservation for a special occasion or date!

While we waited for our table, we grabbed drinks at the bar on the other side, which felt like the perfect way to start the evening. I don't play about service and every box you could check was executed very well here. The greeting on entry was very intentional and welcoming. The table was still pending so the hostess showed us the bar and welcomed us to wait there. The bartender greeted us with a smile. We started with wine and when the table was ready the hostess came to gather us. A server came to take our drinks over to the table for us and they transferred the tab for us. Y'all, I love not having to think for a moment lol, please guide me through an experience. Ok so we got escorted to the table and since it was for my birthday, the hostess said "I think I have the perfect birthday table for you." And she did, because we ended up with the cutest plush velvet (I think lol) booth overlooking the rest of the restaurant so we could really take in the atmosphere. Also, loved the fully open-concept kitchen. Being able to see all the action added to the experience and gave the space a lively, interactive feel. Ok back to service because Bludorn really is topping the game! Our server was sweet and was able to speak to all the menu options. He really steered me in the right direction on choices, not one miss! Occasionally other staff would pop by just to say hi and make sure we were doing well. And I just love a little attention when I'm out spending my money y'all so that sat well with me. Ok now let's talk about the main event, the food. To start they brought us their version of Parker Rolls with a garlic butter, excellent starter. For an app I got the Chilled Corn Soup with Blue Crab. It was really refreshing, the flavors were vibrant and that crab was fresh. They also did not skimp on the crab. I honestly hated that it had to come to an end. For my entrée I did the Blackened Red Snapper (removed the bacon). This dish had a black eyed pea and puree situation under the fish. It was delicious! The snapper was perfectly flaky and tender, and the flavor of the accompanying puree was reminiscent of my mom's black eyed pea stew with bold flavors. The only thing was that I wanted the portion to be a little bigger, just made me sad is all lol. We also ordered the creamed spinach because they said it's one of their best sides and y'all it was so rich and velvety, it practically melted in my mouth! Now since it was my bday they brought out a cute chocolate dessert and had Happy Birthday written on the plate. I love details, it's going to get me every time. My friend got the salmon and said that it was "ok, nothing super special." She did love her shrimp app though. When we were ready for the check they brought out a cute postcard and the check was on the back. I thought that was so different, like finding a way to make the check cute is a talent lol. Also, for our left overs, they brought us little gold number plates, which we took to the front when leaving to claim our to-go bags. I thought this was very sophisticated, keeping the table clear in case you want to continue with drinks and convo, etc. Overall, the ambiance was warm, intimate, elevated, and effortlessly a vibe. Definitely the kind of place that feels perfect for date night or a cute dinner out with the girls. Would I go again? Of course, and I wouldn't think twice. As a matter of fact I'm making resys for brunch within the next few weeks. I plan to keep Bludorn in my rotation because when a place does it right you keep them close. I know Yelp does an overall star rating, but I'm going to start breaking my reviews down to show how I rate the different elements. Aesthetic or environment 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 4.5/5

Everyone raves about the pasta and rightfully so. The noodles with the right amount of bolognese was such a flavorful comfort food. The pork belly was also delicious but the pasta hit better. For appetizers, I highly recommend the yellowtail sashimi. I'm sorry I didn't post a picture - I was SO hungry. I literally ate it like candy. Speaking of candy, it has Pop Rocks on top of the yellowtail. See how I tied that in, kids? My friends (also Yelp Elite) and I decided to do everything family-style. Since it's Restaurant Week (really Restaurant Month), we ordered a bunch of appetizers. The blue crab hush puppies were my second favorite. I wasn't a huge fan of the heirloom tomato because the wheat bread was way too thick for my liking. I would have preferred sourdough. But let's be honest - the reason I come here is for the mac & cheese and steak. I got the steak flight, which is about $110, but it's worth every penny. The Wagyu literally cuts like butter. The sides are HUGE and easily shareable with four people, so keep that in mind when ordering. Unfortunately, my friend did not enjoy his swordfish. His exact words were, "It tastes like dried chicken." My wife ordered the salad and absolutely loved it. Once again, the portion was enormous. If I'm judging this place solely on the wine, steaks, sides, and atmosphere, it's an easy five stars. You just have to know what to order. I was definitely disappointed to hear about the fish, but everything else keeps bringing me back.

The staff kept apologizing for the wait, but there was no explanation and nothing comped, which made a long gap feel longer. When the apps finally came, they weren't worth it. The cornbread was incredibly dry, and the hush puppies had no seafood flavor at all, bland overall and paired with an odd BBQ-style sauce that didn't work. The filet flight was the one clear standout, cooked perfectly and easily the best thing we ordered. After that it dropped off again: the sides were oversized but flat on flavor, the drinks were just okay, and most of the better steaks were an upcharge on top of the Restaurant Week price, which felt off for a prix fixe. Dessert did land well. One last oddity for a restaurant this size, we left smelling like cooked food, which you don't expect from a place with real ventilation. Bottom line: the filet flight is genuinely good, but the wait, the weak apps and sides, the upcharges, and the lingering smell made this hard to recommend at the price.
