I can't say enough good things about this spot. It's rare to find a Halal breakfast place open all day that treats every dish with this much care. We started with the beef bacon, which was cooked to perfection--excellent flavor and texture. If you have a sweet tooth, the cookie butter pancakes are an absolute must; they were awesome. But the real curveball was the burger. I honestly think it was one of the best burgers I've ever had--I'm still thinking about how good it was! You can really taste the difference when everything is made from scratch. The owner even came over to share the story of the restaurant, which made the experience feel so personal. My husband and I tried Syrup and Salt for breakfast this morning and it was so good. It's located in a small strip mall, but once you walk in it completely opens up--super clean, modern, and really welcoming. I also love that it's a fully halal restaurant, which makes it feel even more inclusive. The menu has a ton of options since they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so there's plenty to come back and try. I ordered the strawberry and banana French toast and appreciated that they asked if I wanted strawberry compote or fresh strawberries (I went with fresh). The French toast had the perfect texture--slightly crisp on the outside but soft and custardy on the inside. It was so good it honestly didn't even need syrup. My husband got the cinnamon apple French toast. It usually comes with ice cream, but we swapped it for whipped cream and it was perfect. The portion size was generous (6 slices!) and just as delicious. Service was top notch as well. We were seated right away, and even as it started to get busier while we were leaving, everything stayed smooth. Our server was kind, attentive, and made the experience even better. Everything tasted fresh, the portions were great, and the overall experience was easy and enjoyable. We were greeted right away and seated. Place looked very roomy and well lit. Very clean in appearance. Our waitress was very attentive and took our drink order and gave us time to look at the menu. I ordered chx and waffle and husband order basic breakfast, eggs, has brown and chx sausage, plus pancakes. His breakfast was as it should be. My chicken was huge and heavily breaded. Came here Fathers Day for breakfast. Food was wonderful. Fresh, tasty, and served hot. Hash browns were perfectly crispy, eggs just how I ordered, chicken fried steak was huge, right amount of breading and nice and crispy. Coffee was wonderful. Love the farm to table concept to make all the traditional comfort food we love. They were busy because of the holiday, but it did not impact their amazing service. Nathan was great. Restaurant is simple and very clean. They have designed the space to fit as many people as possible without feeling cramped. I highly recommend this place. We visited Syrup & Salt for our monthly book club meeting. I had never heard of it, but another in our group said they had recently gone viral for their food and being a Halal restaurant. They do not take reservations or do call ahead seating, which I feel is a miss. Our friend who organized this month arrived early to ensure we had a table for 5 when others arrived. We were greeted quickly but that's where the service stopped. The rest of our time it seemed we were searching for our server, even after our plates had been cleared and we were ready to leave. They were busy, but also seemed to have plenty of staff so I'm not sure why service was so slow. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. I personally ordered the All In Breakfast that came with 2 eggs, hashbrowns, 2 bacon, 2 chicken sausage and 2 pancakes. Being a Halal restaurant means no pork and I was excited to try beef bacon, so ordered my meal Al bacon. It's super good! However unfortunately my food came out cold. I did not alert my server or ask for anything to be corrected. We had movie tickets for after brunch so just kept my plate as served. Idk that I would be back to Syrup & Salt. I can see if you are wanting a Halal place it would be an option but for me personally that did not matter and the rest seemed pretty basic. read more

Tried Syrup & Salt this past weekend, got there right as they opened. Cute place in a strip mall place right off SE corner of Gilbert and Southern. The egg white omelette was good, they confirmed if I was good with Berries as that was the fruit option instead of potatoes (my request). I asked to try the crepes, really only wanted one but they did only charge me a smaller upgrade charge versus the full cost of the crepe dish and they gave me two crepes. The strawberries were great but something about the cream didn't work for me. I had the husband try it and he said it was fine. He had the chicken and waffle and like many an influencer has said (that is what brought us there), the chicken was a flattened chicken breast, tender but the breading did flake off a lot. Overall, I am glad we tried it and if you are nearby give it a try, lots of options. read more

My wife and I came in and were seated by Nathan, who was a great host from the start. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and made us feel taken care . We ordered the Nutella stuffed French toast and it was amazing. Thick French toast filled with Nutella, then topped with strawberry compote, bananas, and powdered sugar. Sweet, rich, and exactly what you want when you're treating yourself at breakfast. We will be back for that plate alone. Solid food, warm service, and Nathan set a really good tone for the visit. We visited this restaurant and were very pleased. We were greeted and sat quickly and the restaurant was clean and well decorated. The food we ordered was amazing! I ordered their French toast combo and the toast was sweet, with a bit of light crunch. It was so good! My husband ordered a omelette and it was filled with mushrooms and peppers and pepper jack cheese. I stopped by because I saw this place on TikTok for their viral "halal chicken sandwich." The staff was friendly, and the strawberry lemonade refills were a nice touch. But the sandwich itself was disappointing. The breading made it look big, but once I cut into it, there were big pockets of just breading and barely any chicken. The chicken that was there tasted really bland and dry, without any real seasoning. The sweet potato fries were okay, but nothing special. I appreciate that it's all halal and the service was good, but the sandwich didn't live up to the hype. Overall, I'd give it a 4 out of 10. My friend and I split the crispy chicken sandwich AND the cookie butter French toast, because we couldn't decide if we wanted salty or sweet. New Favorite Breakfast Spot! We tried Syrup and Salt this morning for our weekly family breakfast, and WOW--everything was incredible. We ordered the chicken sausage breakfast burrito, and I honestly couldn't put it down. Perfectly seasoned, hearty, and just ridiculously good. The banana French toast was next-level--sweet, soft, and absolutely crazy good. And the surprise standout? The lamb chops and eggs. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful, and something you don't usually find on a breakfast menu. We eat breakfast out once a week and love trying new places--this spot immediately jumped into our Top 2 favorites. We can't wait to go back and work our way through more of the menu. We decided to try the new local restaurant that opened as we live pretty close to. My Mom, my wife and I went for lunch. Our server, Ragina, was very kind and sweet. She took excellent care of us. My Mom ordered the Belgian waffle, which came as 2 small waffles. She did enjoy them. My wife ordered the blueberry crepes. She did enjoy them however there was too much of the blueberry compote. She had to scape some off to the side. I ordered the Avocado Benedict. I was a bit puzzled when it arrived as it was an avocado 1/2 with a pouched egg on top and hollandaise over the top. I asked our server about it as I thought someone forgot the English muffin?? LOL. Anyway....in my opinion All eggs Benedict's come on top of a 1/2 English muffin. Unless of course you're looking for a low carb option?? Anyway, the server brought me an English muffin and that made it all better! The restaurant itself was a bit utilitarian looking. It really needs maybe some booths and something to cover maybe just some of the windows facing out towards the parking lot. In my opinion it just needs to have a more "homey " feel and less "cafeteria " feel. Also, I appreciate that the owners want to explain what "Halal" is...but the message on the wall explained the details of "Halal meat" and the process it goes through. However, I don't think it's appropriate to read this message that explains the "blood drainage" and "toxic bacteria " etc . It's not exactly appetizing. I think the message should be edited and have less "gross" details. Our bill for three breakfasts was over $55 and with a tip was over $70. I thought that for the prices the portions were small. We were seated and after 10 min had to ask who our server was. The hostess said she would find out but was nice enough to take our drink order. She forgot the OJ and the extra ice and lemons but got it for us. More people came in and servers went to their tables still no server to our table. We asked the hostess again and she went and told the manager. A server came 5 min later without any apology for the delay. We ordered and asked for a side of biscuit and gravy to come out first. 10 minutes later our food arrived delivered by the manager and another server but no biscuits and gravy. We told the manager who was delivering the food and she apologized and went and got it. For a place called syrup and salt . I then had to ask for syrup for my French toast because that was not given. I had to flag down someone each time to fill my coffee. And the other 2 drinks had to be asked as well. This should be a standard process for refills. One other thing to note is it is not pork bacon but beef bacon and does not bite the same as pork bacon. Overall, the food was really good and this place could be a hit if they fixed the service issue and getting what you ordered out correctly. The place is cute and has potential, but need to fix the processes first. read more
