I've been twice to this restaurant. I ordered the dolmas both times, forgetting that I ordered them last time. They taste very good. They are perfectly seasoned and exactly what you'd expect. Unfortunately you get 4 stuffed grape leaves for $6. That's $1.50 for a grape leaf with about a tablespoon of filling. I'd either expect to get 6, or expect the price to be more like 3.50 or 4 dollars for the amount. I'm posting a picture of the beef souvlaki pita I ordered. It's $9.99, so basically $10 for about an ounce and a half of beef on a pretty basic store bought pita. Does it taste good? Yes it does, but for ten dollars, I'd definitely expect at least two more slices of meat. It just is not worth what is charged. I did not get the full meal with fries but it is $5 more to add fries to your order and I just can't imagine that it would be worth it. I did see another customer with fries and at best, I'd expect to pay maybe $3 more for what they were served. I don't expect to return. It's too bad because everything does taste good. It just isn't worth the price. Also, I ordered baklava with my to go order. There was only one table there eating and they'd already been served so they were not busy. They forgot the baklava and I had to go back in for it. $2.50 for a 2x2 inch square. read more

Very surprised about the such good ratings here. Maybe we just didn't get the best meal. We tried the chicken shawarma plate. First of all, I was very pleased with the portion size. The chicken was decent and the French fries were good. The fries tasted like they came from a bag though, however they were good. The pita bread was horrible. Dry dry dry. Opa. This place is the real deal. Gyros and wraps. Salads and smoothies. This is a nice little spot for lunch especially if you want it with a Greek flair. Starting in June you will get a 10% off coupon for checking in on Yelp. I stopped in for lunch and was impressed with the menu. They don't offer fountain drinks, but have a refrigerator with soda and water. The counter person told me to grab a water on the house as this was my first time here. My choice was the grilled vegetable hummus wrap. This consisted of a pita with humus topped with grilled sweet peppers, onions, and zucchini, with lettuce, tomatoes, garlic sauce, and a handful of French fries. It came with tzatziki sauce. The vegetables were grilled perfectly and were perfectly seasoned. The fries were an unusual compliment to the wrap, but the worked well with the tzatziki sauce. This wrap is a little messy as it is packed full so grab plenty of napkins. In Greece they show their appreciation for a good meal by breaking the dishes, but don't try that here. They serve their pitas in a parchment lined plastic basket. The prices here are very reasonable making this a frequent lunch stop. read more

However, it looks like it may have changed owners recently because of the temporary sign stating it's "King Pita"-with that being said, the service was good but food was mediocre at best... there was no tzatziki on the gyro sandwich-gyro meat was under-cooked.... the chicken shawarma was overly spiced with curry.... The food was fresh and was pretty good. I got the chicken shawarma salad and it was huge (for over 10$ it should at least be that, mind you!) with a very nice portion of meat and salad and veggies. It was very filling. I didn't look at the menu (gasp!) before arriving and was a bit caught off guard once I was inside looking at the menu while being so very very hungry (the girl at the front counter seemed indifferent to my questions). I had just made a long drive from the other side of town to this side of town and really wanted beef shawarma but they only had chicken shawarma. Was out driving and came across this place and thought why not give it a try. Super clean and bright. Lady at counter was nice and efficient. They don't sell fountain beverages, all drinks are single serve including water. I agree with some of the other posts regarding gyro meat and the amount of meat you receive. While the meat and hummus were delicious the pita bread was meh. We also tried the Greek fries and they too were just meh. While the food was good it wasn't great. Would I come back? The only bad thing was the actual pita is really thick, and split as soon as I started eating it. The employees were helpful and quick, bringing the food to our table. My kids and I have been wanting to give this place a try. My son wanted his usual, Greek fries with Greek marinated chicken and I got the chicken shawarma plate/platter, which I upgraded the fries to Greek fries( an additional $2.50). They asked us if it was for here or togo, I told them it was for here. Our food took about 10 minutes to get and when they called me up to grab the food, it was packaged to go, so the sauce for the fries was served on the side. We ate it there and we were pretty surprised when the people seated next to us got their food brought out to them on plates; clearly someone didn't remember we wanted our food to eat in the restaurant. I was very surprised that our food cost me $33, seeing as my water was complimentary and my son got a bottle of tea, we had one actual meal, my kids Greek fries with chicken and two pieces of baklava. When I checked the receipt I was shocked that they added $6 for the chicken on my son's Greek fries. $6! They never told me how much it was going to be however I knew there would be a charge, just didn't think it would be that much. We unpackaged our food and were disappointed to see that our Greek fries didn't have the generous portion of feta (this is the first Mediterranean restaurant that we have visited that wasn't generous with the feta) and sauce like we saw in the pictures here on yelp. Yes I know the sauce was on the side b/c they made it a to go order, but still the amount of sauce they gave us to go, wasn't enough to make our fries resemble the pictures. The food was pretty tasty, that was the saving grace. The hummus was creamy, the pita fluffy and warm, the fries were crispy, the chicken had a good flavor too, the tzatziki and garlic sauces were delicious as well. The Greek salad was basic, and topped with a red colored dressing that was good but I have no clue what it was. the baklava was just okay; kind of dry to be honest. I saw in a Facebook group that a few people recommended this place, I have been craving Gyros and Chicken Shawarma for some time now. I decided to give this place a try tonight, they did not disappoint! I drove up around 7pm, they didn't look very busy, I actually thought they might have been close to closing so I felt kind of bad. The gentleman at the counter was very polite and helpful. I ended up ordering the Chicken Shwarma platter and the Gyro Platter. The chicken platter was good, I thought my option for rice with that one, was a bit underwhelming, but I didn't really care too much since the meat had so much flavor and it wasn't dry like most places! The gyro platter was delicious! The gyro was so moist and flavorful, definitely will be ordering two orders of that next time! The fries we got with it was like normal fries nothing special, but my kiddo liked it. Their hummus was good as well, nothing phenomenal, just your basic hummus. Oh, I did wish I got more than two pieces of pita bread, but now I know next time to order more! It looked like this place was probably a family owned place. I was is this area at lunch today, so I decided to give this place a go. I love Mediterranean food and spotted this place on Yelp. I had their pita gyro combo with a salad and a drink - nothing fancy. It was actually all very good. The salad was fresh with the standard Greek salad fixings and a tasty dressing. The gyro was also very tasty, with plenty of meat and veggies, with an excellent pita holding it all together. Their white sauce was also very good. The place is clean, comfortable and easy to find, but like all eateries these days, kind of pricey. Only suggestion I might have for the two folks running the place is . . . SMILE! This review is overdue! I enjoy the clean and cool atmosphere of this place. I have ordered the gyro and chicken schwarma platters with both garlic and tzatziki sauce. The hummus is delicious, the pitas are fresh, the meat is always very fresh and flavorful, I often get double meat, and speaking as a carb feen..the rice is DELICIOUS!!! What really sets this place apart for me is the staff, I have had really pleasant interactions with all of the staff and owner throughout all the times I have been here. My kid was even gifted some rare cookies during the holidays, I am very appreciative. You want good Mediterranean? Look no further! read more

This place is tucked a way in a shopping center around the corner. But once you find it, you will be so glad that you did. The food is absolutely delicious and the prices are so reasonable! My family and I have eaten here a few times and even my 7 year old likes eating here. I love ordering the Chicken Shawarma platter, and my husband usually gets the Gyro wrap. I've been craving a gyro for awhile now and am so thankful AZ Pita is open on Sundays to help a gal out! Clean, fresh, fast, delicious, and friendly is how I would rate my visit! The platter is a tasty and generous portion that I'm sure could easily feed two people (with an extra pita added) if neither of you were starving. I liked the dressing on the mixed salad and will definitely try the Greek + chicken skewers next time. Stopped by when I visited family during thanksgiving because I like to try new places, and I was not let down. Nice Little Mediterranean Shop I found this restaurant on Local Flavor and bought a $20 gift certificate for $10 thinking why not try out a new place even if it isn't really near where I live. Upon entering the restaurant the guy told us that they don't honor the Local Flavor coupon so that wasn't much of a good starting point. We shared a Shawarma plate with rice and it was a solid four out of five for the meal. You definitely need to be looking for this place or you will never see it since it is on the backside corner of the strip mall. Absolutely friendly staff, during Covid so they were wearing masks and gloves and keep the place extremely clean. The food is absolutely delicious and they even gave us a free " starter" for free which was gracious of them . I had the hummus starters and gyro which was fresh as well as the pita, my friend had the chicken Shawarma wrap and that I tried she loved it and it was bursting with flavors. I was hungry for a Gyro and discovered this restaurant via Yelp. I visited on 05 DEC 2019 AD. Thanks to all of the previous Yelpers for their reviews and photos! First off, this restaurant was tough to find! The restaurant is located in a strip mall. Look for BoSa Donuts or Christian Brothers Automotive; it's across from (north) of Christian Brothers Automotive. I'll put a Google Map screenshot in my photo section for this review. As I was ordering, I spoke to the owner at length, and he told me they've been around for about 8 months. Approximately 6 months ago he bought-out the other owner and started fresh. Those of you who have visited 6+ months ago, give this place another chance. The ambiance and décor was nice, the service was efficient and the price was average. The food tasted great and there was decent parking. It's not the biggest place and they use disposable plates and cutlery. Still, the food was terrific. If you want to order delivery, they offer various services you can use such as: Grubhub, Uber Eats, Postmates and Doordash.
