Sushi Time at 1638 W Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, TX 75235 Took me some time but I finally get a chance to get in here and eat since my last experience trying to. I was the only customer at the time. The food feels freshly made and prepared. It definitely tastes delicious like it was especially made for each customer. This definitely reminds me of a mom and pop type cafe. I ate through the food pretty fast and do admit the quality was pretty good. Can't really judge the service because like I said I was the only person in there at the time and the lady was pretty attentive to me. I do feel like the prices are kind of expensive but for the type of quality and service you're getting, this is probably the exact amount one should be paying now. If you're looking for sushi inside the medical district area of Dallas or close to downtown. This is definitely the location you want to try out. Enjoy

    Shaggy Dog Roll

The staff is always very kind any time I come in for lunch! The food comes out quick and tastes delicious! The shaggy dog roll was yummy and the teriyaki chicken was great too!! I will be back!

I tell you this Sunomono cucumber salad is the BOMB.COM and my all time favorite the Volcano baked roll.

Sushi is usually pretty pricey but this place wasnt. I read the previous reviews and it made me inclined to try it since I was already in the area. It's tasty. I enjoyed my salmon roll and the rice ball. The New York roll I wasnt a big fan of, however, it wasn't nasty -- just not my cup of tea. This is a small place and you do have the option to dine in if you would like. I chose takeout and my food was ready in about 10 minutes or less. I gave this place 4 stars because the staff was friendly and fast getting my food out. I love a place that's reasonably priced. So if you are in the area it's definitely worth stopping by.

    Good stuff.

I want to extend a huge shout-out to our waiter, Vivian, for giving us insight on the food and bars/places to check around in Dallas! She went above and beyond :) Miso soup with silky tofu was delicious, they balanced out the yellow miso well with a hint of (maybe) crate-barrelled? For the nigiri I had the fatty tuna, a5 wagyu, and king salmon. They were all absolutely delicious and warped me to Japan. I was reminded of the same quality and taste - which checks out since they import their fish from Japan! The special kome roll was so delicious I ate it very slowly to savor every bite and memory of sushi in Japan. For dessert I had the deep fried cheesecake - I think the last time I had this I was 12 at Mr. sushi in Boston and all my memories came back. Grapes were too big though but everything else A+ The matcha tonic - I can't find it online but it was an incredible balance of fizzy, sweetness and matcha. I appreciate that their reservation site provided all the information I needed to make an informed decision (pricing, how it works, etc.). When I checked in I was offered sake but since i'm not drinking they accommodated me with sparkling green tea (which was soooo good). The wait was a bit longer than I expected. I checked in at 7:35 for my 7:45 reservation, we weren't seated until 8:10. The hostess was apologetic about the wait. The restaurant itself is in a basement and it's a typical quaint chef's experience with about 10 seats in an intimate space. I loved the decor and vibe. The staff was very friendly, they all introduced themselves and walked us through how the omakase experience worked. We had a 17 course tasting menu and I enjoyed every bite. Loved that the chefs explained every dish and gave us the origin of the fish. My favorite was the Kanpachi, but everything was delicious and tasted fresh. I had a yummy mocktail and our "spirit guide" let me try a non alcoholic champagne which I loved. After dinner we were led into Ginger's which is a speakeasy next door that I've been to a few times. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The only thing I would change is the number of seats. I felt cramped.

Ill live write out my review as i receive and eat things: 1. Ahi tower is one of the best things ive ever eaten. it brings SO MUCH fish and crab. I really thought it would be mostly rice but nope. GREAT portion and SUPER delicious. will be thinking about it for a while 2. Ninja roll.. AGAIN how is it so good? perfect amount of spicy!! also they somehow made the salmon on top creamy? 3. Yokohoma roll had less flavor than the ninja but it felt fresher! its perfect for when u want fish but not too much flavor 4. Washing roll was surprisingly so good!! everything ive had so far has been FANTASTIC but i normally hate krab. they mixed it in a way that made is actually really yummy?! almost bbqy but idk how to describe it 5. eel avocado roll might be my favorite? it had a LOT of flavor. ill be honest it didnt taste much like EEL but more like whatever sauce they put on it. it wasnt sweet at all which is nice considering eel usually is be warned anything you dont finish will be chard a la carte so make SURE u dont order as much as me because i couldnt finish what i ordered The place itself is cold (which is a big plus for me when im eating) and looks like a family spot. idk how to describe it but you can just tell its a couple familys go to sushi place. theres tons of parking outside too! They also have a spot for you to sit on the sushi bar to watch the chefs cook! it was really cool and i even saw a couple people request to be sat there Everyone was so sweet and attentive i loved it :)
