Very impressed. Totally exceeded my expectations. The waitress was really sweet (And unfortunately when it comes to sushi I have all kinds of "modifications" it drives my Boyfriend insane Whoops!) She was was extremely flexible and everything came out perfect! I got the house ramen which was really good a little surprising spiciness which I welcomed. Had Salmon Nigiri that tasted really fresh. I came before work and will definitely be back again. Although I think it's a little weird they are closed Saturdays so be careful with that. read more

My friend and I decided to grab a quick lunch one day and found this place. From the exterior I wasn't expecting much, but we were both craving some Japanese. I was happy to learn that they have some pretty decent 2 for 1 specials on their rolls. We started with some edamame and ordered a couple of rolls under their 2 for $10 menu. At those prices I wasn't expecting to be wowed and was pleasantly surprised when I found out the fish was pretty fresh. Again, nothing spectacular, but at those prices I can't complain. They also gave us complimentary miso soup and salad. The wait staff is very nice and attentive. Even with the crazy traffic during lunch they kept checking up on us to make sure everything was OK and made sure our water was at least half full. Our bill came out to $25, which is about the same amount we spent a couple days later next door at Pho Chau. If you're on a budget and looking for a decent Japanese establishment this is the place! read more

Well, after (or in the middle of) a long day at the hospital, this'll do in a pinch. However, it's not a place I'd ever crave. It's definitely a solid 3 stars in the sense of "A-OK." That is, it's perfectly fine, if you're willing to just not be too picky. First of all, the value is hard to beat. They have a 2-for-$10 deal with most of your basic rolls. I got tuna and eel, and they were about 8-10 pieces each, none of those skimpy 5-piece rolls you get at other places. The tuna wasn't the best quality, but the eel was fine. My friend got the Hawaiian roll (California roll topped with tuna and avocado), and that was delicious. She got the $10 daily special (although apparently you can pick any day's special no matter what day it is), so it also came with a "hand roll." This makes me question the authenticity of this place, since the "hand roll" was just a roll with the seaweed on the outside instead of the inside. (What a "hand roll" should be is a piece of seaweed wrapped in a cone shape with all the fish/rice/etc. stuffed inside.) Anyway, the Hawaiian roll was really yummy. I didn't try the spicy tuna "hand roll," but my friend liked it. Okay, but what really makes this place a great deal is all the free stuff you get with your meal! The waitress brought us free salad (not very tasty, but still free), free miso soup (smelled kinda off, but was fine), and free edamame (definitely old soybeans, not fresh). Okay, yes, like I said, you can't be picky here. It was FREE FOOD. I know all you grad/med students just heard choirs of angels. Bottom line: I'm not sure where else you can get about 18-20 roll pieces, salad, soup, and edamame for just $10. If you're in the area and you're not in a picky mood, hit it up. read more

We are here for a TKD tournament from out of town. We googled sushi near us, we found Sushi Time. This place is a hidden gem. The place was empty and why? I don't know. It should be packed with a waiting list. Absolutely awesome. The service was amazing, super fast and friendly. I was surprised at how cheap it was also. If I lived here, I'd eat here at least a couple times a week. Don't let the fact it's empty (perhaps we just lucked out because it was early 4pm) scare you away. I don't give out 5 stars often. So trust me when I say it is fabulous. If I were to suggest a change- it'd be the hours. Usually the busiest restaurants are on the weekends. Sushi time is only open M-F. I realize it's probably a family owned business and they need a couple days off but if I had to pick a couple days to be closed perhaps Sunday and Monday. Maybe there's a reason for this and since I'm not from the area they'd know better than me. But I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! You won't be disappointed. read more

Sushi craving satisfied, filling belly without emptying wallet. Completed errands and found myself free for a late afternoon lunch. Yelping for cheap meal solutions nearby brought this tiny establishment to my attention. I'm a bit wary of any place where "cheap" and "sushi" are used together in the description but I guess I felt a bit of a daredevil and bungee-jumping opportunities weren't readily available at the moment. I ordered two rolls (spicy tuna and California) for $10 and was delighted to receive a complimentary salad and miso soup to boot. They weren't small rolls, either, about ten pieces each. Food quality may not measure up to the more expensive and trendy sushi bars but, considering I'd pay twice as much or more for the same amount of food, I found it tasty and enjoyable for the price. Other reviews had me expecting to spend an hour or so waiting so I planned on returning some correspondence. However, the service was fast, friendly and efficient. My whole visit lasted half an hour and I left realizing I hadn't responded to a single e-mail. While I wouldn't go here for a fancy dining experience, Sushi Time fits the bill nicely when you crave sushi but don't have much time. read more

I usually get take out here when Im desperate and am too lazy to drive far (aka too cold) Pros: cheap, sushi is OK for price, nice staff, convenient, short wait times Cons: cream cheese is a hit or a miss, anything non sushi is pretty bad (any noodles are too oily, any teriyaki is horribly cooked meat very dry and rubbery salmon, and apparently teriyaki means covered in a strange starchy brown sauce...stay away!!) Not the time for sushi...thats what time it isn't. I did not like this place from the get go, the place was packed at lunchtime, which is usually a good sign. It could also have been the overflow crowd from the 24 hr bookstore next door...I dunno. Either way the rolls and the sushi were plentiful, it has great value if that is what you are looking for. I am more of a sushi snob, so I would like quality and don't mind paying for it. The sushi just didn't seem very flavorful and it felt like they were shooting for the value menu model. If you want quality, look further. I don't think this place is horrible, I just won't be returning. read more

Even though Sushi Time is the only game in town by my office, that doesn't automatically make it decent. I want to like this place, but it's just too mediocre to recommend to anyone with a taste for high quality sushi and sashimi. In retrospect, it's apparent they have a design motif going on: staleness. The restaurant smells distinctly of soggy cardboard and the food's presentation carries on this aesthetic. I'm not one of those shallow sushi snobs who thinks taste is in the plating. However, I do expect the sushi to at least look fresh and sliced evenly. Yet, my spicy salmon roll and my Alaskan roll looked like part of a half-eaten Lu Ann Platter from Luby's. Keeping with the Stale Chic design mantra, both of my rolls lacked flavor and seemed to sort of droop on the plate as if they had been watered down. Perhaps the chef was the guy in college who replaced his Dad's scotch with water thinking he wouldn't know. read more

My friend and I had dinner here last night. We wanted sushi and BYOB, and this is literally the only place we could find. We were glad we did! We both ordered rolls from their 2 for $10 menu. I had spicy salmon and cajun, and he ordered spicy tuna and a Mockingbird roll. We liked them so much we actually ordered two more rolls (another spicy tuna and an eel roll). No complaints at all...they tasted good and the portion sizes were great. Our waitress was really friendly, and the dining room was clean and cozy. I don't like sushi but I've gotten several other meals here and they have all been delicious. The price is reasonable too. I only removed a star because the owner is rude!! She acts like people are bothering her by being there. The Hispanic waitresses are kind but I don't know what is wrong with the older lady that I think is the owner. And it's not even culture difference because she is obviously rude. She rolls her eyes and sighs and walks away when you're talking. If she was always our waitress I would stop going but the food, price, and other waitresses keep us going back. read more

The staff is friendly and caring, and the food is great. I come here once or twice a week to read a book, have some green tea, and enjoy some delicious sushi for the price. I highly recommend the Mockingbird and Crunch rolls. They are absolutely delicious. The Miso Soup is excellent, but needs Soy Sauce to complete it. Service was a little slow from time to time, but they seem to be getting better and better as they grow and learn. You can find better sushi out there, but you're going to pay considerably more for the amount of food you get here. Sushi Time is definitely worth a try. read more

A nice spot for cheap sushi. I like the chicken and beef teriyaki for the price (~$8). Sushi specials are good, but it's true, the second, simpler roll usually is full of rice and little meat. Service is always really nice and fast. All meals are served with miso soup and salad with ginger dressing. I love that ginger dressing. This is my favority sushi lunch place! I love the $10 special for two roles, miso soup, and ginger salad. The specialty roles, sushi, sashimi, and other dishes are good too. I like the bulgolki that comes with a California role. The portions are huge, so we like to go as a group and all order something so we can each try a little. As far as sushi goes, freshness is a must, and that's another thing I like about sushi time. Every ingredient in any dish or sushi I've tasted has been fresh. The only negative is that if you go right at noon, there's going to be a crowd. We go at 11:30 or 1PM and it's awesome. The server's are really nice too. They don't have fountain drinks, only canned drinks, water, and tea, but soda's aren't that healthy anyway. read more

The sushi tastes good and less expensive than most sushi places by a small amount. However, they are very cheap on the amount of raw fish on top of special rolls. I ordered Dragon Roll and Alaskan Roll and it was mostly avocado on top and a really tiny sliver of the fish I ordered it for. Kind of disappointed. If I pay $18 for sushi, I want raw fish. The service: 5 stars. The food: 2 stars. Went here two days ago for a friend's birthday (chose the restaurant because of its proximity to where we work). The five of us all ordered different sushi rolls (2 for $10 special that they advertise in their laminated menus as 'one day', but is actually a permanent lunch price), and our fabulous waitress did not need to write a single thing down. That's some working memory right there.... Seriously, the staff here is phenomenal. I wasn't expecting fabulous sushi (having grown up on the West Coast with melt-in-your-mouth sashimi and the like...), and even considered ordering a noodle dish, but decided to go with a baked eel roll and 'happy roll' (which ended up being more or less a fried california roll.....). I actually initially couldn't tell the difference between the two, even though one was supposed to have eel in it and the other shrimp -- the eel sauce gave it away, of course, but the sushi roll fillings were quite sparse and their was an abundance of rice (always a sure sign of a budget sushi place, which this place doesn't pretend to be anything but). Each entree came with miso soup and a salad, which was a perk. Convenient for a local lunch spot, but nothing to write home about (just here on yelp). read more

My first time here was on 12/01/2017. There was a change in ownership and as a result they had to shut down because they were not able to keep up with the demand. I just so happened to make it before they closed for the day and was able to place my order. It took an hour for sure to get it but I had a taste for Sushi so I waited. The young lady at the register was also waitressing and this was a huge disservice for service kind. She was friendly in spite of the circumstances. It is a small place and was clean enough although I am OCD so we won't even go there.... The food was very well prepared and tasted fairly good. It was worth the wait but based on the circumstances but I would not wait again an hour...Hopefully they have their stuff together. read more

Take out. They got both authentic and kind of 'experimental' sushi. 2 rolls for $10. Can't go wrong with that. The mockingbird is a must-have. Its filling and oh-so-good!!!
