This place is sooo good. I had it back in September, and I still think about it today. Their service is very friendly, and patient. There is a little wait as they assemble your order, but they'll hand deliver it to your car since there is no indoor/outdoor seating here. We got the mentaiko mayo, torched salmon, butter crab, and fresh salmon. The fresh salmon was very light and refreshing in contrast to the cooked/creamy options we had. The torched salmon and butter crab both had those hints of smokiness that paired with the creaminess of the sauces perfectly. Mentaiko was my personal favorite because it was so creamy and tasty without a single hint of that fishy taste you usually encounter. Please try this place for a light lunch or snack if you are in Dallas!

Something to know about me... I really love tofu skin. I first tried them in a random Chinese buffet in the sushi section where they would put random crabmeat on top of rice inside or seaweed salad and call it a day. I love the texture and hint of sweetness from it. So anyway, when I saw this place online, I knew I had to come and try it. My husband and I ordered 8 pieces and each and every bite was delightful! My favorites were the seared salmon, egg mayo, tuna, and fresh salmon. My husband being my husband.. didn't get the hype lol. He said it would be better if they had hot foods on it. Im sure they do but most of what we ordered were like sushi or warm foods. I truly love it here. I would come back for this again.

We tried the bulgogi, spicy pork, tuna mayo, egg mayo, and myungran mayo - none of them disappointed!! They were all so juicy and packed with flavor without being salty. The textures were all so balanced, I literally had to go back immediately to get more before I left the premises. I cannot recommend this place enough!! It is hands down the best yubu rice I have ever had. Ever!! Not to mention the price is really good for the taste and quality. Make sure to be ready to wait a bit on your order. There is also no indoor or outdoor seating/waiting area so make sure to take a car and be able to wait inside that car. Also the neighborhood is a little sketchy so lock your doors while you wait!

I decided to get out of the house and take a ride to Neko Yubu to try their Yubu Bites, and when I tell you it was a 10 out of 10, I definitely recommend. Everything was super fresh, super flavorful, and the customer service was A1. It's a ghost kitchen setup, so you drive up and order once you arrive. There's no dining area, so expect to eat in your car, but honestly, they're so good you won't want to wait anyway. I ordered a box of six which included Torched Salmon, Kimchi Bacon, Butter Crab, Carottes Râpées, Cheese Buldak, and Beef Bulgogi. The Beef Bulgogi was hands down my favorite, but every single one hit. They don't have a huge menu, and I've already tried six of the flavors, so I'll definitely be back to try the rest. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend checking this spot out.

The Bulgogi is delicious, gives you that classic Bulgogi teeth over rice with a little bit of extra sauce in between. For the seafood lovers the butter crab absolutely just melts in your mouth. If you love spicy the Buldak chicken is so flavorful and just the right amount of spice for you to enjoy it.

I really like their combo deals! I got 8 differently flavors to try with others. My favorite were butter crab, mentaiko mayo, and fresh tuna. My boyfriend enjoys the pork and seared salmon. One thing to note is that the tuna mayo tasted exactly like canned tuna. The flavors are strong and lean on the sweeter side. One thing to note is that I did called ahead a couple of hours to order, but it still took them some time to get it ready.

Cute shop, good flavor! Yubu's in general are great, well prepared, cute packaging, I wouldnt go out of my way to go here if I lived far, but if youre in the area its worth a quick stop! HIGHLY recommend the mentaiko yubu.

We were in a rush and came here for a quick dinner before a concert. You order at the door and they will deliver it to your car. The concept is unique, tofu skin and rice with toppings. My favorite was the torched salmon and butter crab! We are it so quickly I wish we had time for more. I also ordered the mango matcha, which wasn't bad! For how much matcha goes these days, it was a pretty decent size for the price. Lots of parking in the front for you to park and eat in the car. Definitely recommend!

8.5/10 like everyone said, there's no seating, but everything else was good. i love their branding and attention to details. everything was good quality (except for the napkins but im not going to take points off for that lol). food wise, my ranking is: 1) mentaiko 2) butter crab 3) fresh tuna 4) fresh salmon 5) torched salmon 6) cheese buldak. the yubu are honestly a little smaller than i thought 4 is good enough, 5 if you want to be full. the mentaiko was very creamy and flavorful. i normally like salmon more but here i like the tuna better. i had high expectations for the torched salmon but imo it was too cooked. overall great place though

What an absolute gem. This place truly amazed me with how delicious and unique their food is. These tofu wrapped "sushi" bites are perfectly built and taste absolutely delightful. Each with their own flavor profile and texture. I got the tuna mayo, torched salmon, egg mayo, and the Buldak cheese and it was a treat trying them all. The service was fast and the person who took our order was very kind and quick. We arrived 15 mins before they were closing (we don't do this often- promise!) and she happily took our order in front of the store in the cold. It's been a little over an hour and I'm still thinking about them.

    Lin L.

Obsessed is an understatement. Neko Yubu is hands-down one of the most unique takeout spots in Dallas right now. The yubu pockets are perfectly sweet and savory, the rice is seasoned just right, and the toppings are super fresh. The Butter Crab? Incredible. The bulgogi? Packed with flavor. It's quick, convenient, and seriously addictive. Already planning my next order!

This is a different concept to sushi and I enjoyed it except I didn't love them. I tried 4 different ones (pork, buldak, kimchi, crab) and it just wasn't my cook of tea.

    strawberry matcha latte
    Lucy M.

I won a giveaway on Instagram for a free drink and complimentary set of 4 yubu from Neko Yubu, but since I was sharing with my husband I also ordered an extra set of 4 to try more flavors. I stopped by on a Friday around noon and was served very quickly! The matcha latte was mostly milk, nothing much to write home about, but it makes sense at that price point and it was a nice drink for a warm day. The yubu was delicious! Our favorites were the mentaiko and torched + raw salmon (especially love the wasabi cream that was mixed with the raw salmon), and the char on the butter crab was great too. The other meat options were solid but I didn't super love the tuna mayo even though that's usually one of my favorite flavors in other rice balls and kimbap - the tuna salad here was really dense and there was so much topping that it overwhelmed the balance of the sweet yubu and the rice. I do love that they're really generous with the toppings but the tuna mayo just didn't hit. This spot is pretty out of the way for me but it's very quick service/grab and go so I imagine it's great as lunch for people who work in the area! Pro tip to order ahead online so you don't have to wait when the lunch rush gets busy.

Why is this place rated so high? It had us fooled and I am slightly upset lol I would give it a 1 star which I never did before but I bumped up to a 2 because of the nicest hostess and waitress lol she is so kind so sweet which made me feel bad because the quality of the food is not her fault. I don't think she even knows or maybe she does. I don't think so. Upon entering I smelled an odor already. I discounted that. We sat down and was excited to order lunch items. We ordered quite a few but it took a LONG time to come. Like 15mins :/ as we watch the clock tick away because they close 2:30 and it's already 1 and we haven't gotten our food. So many things are wrong idk where to begin. Too much rice for one. Ahi tower is all rice. Nigiri is all rice. Tuna wasn't fresh. Mackerel is cardboard. Salmon was ok. Surf clam and octopus was edible. All other fish is chewy n fishy. The fried stuff is ok. We ordered calamari twice. The rolls were horrid I am sorry. I've never had rolls this bad. It fell apart, nothing rolled inside and was all wrong. Idk if you can tell from the pics but it's wrong. A child must have rolled it. I went to the restroom to look at who rolled it too. I feel so bad but I am in shock what a bad experience this place was. I wanted to like it so bad because we were hungry, the reviews were good and even a friend said it was ok and her parents came a lot so I did not expect this. The ice cream was good and I ate more calamari but even the udon and ramen tasted like it came from a package. Not authentic at all. The taoyaki was raw. The karate was from a box. The katsu was ok. Edamame was ok. The cat robot was cute and the place was pretty but again what happened to the food? It's probably the worse sushi I've had. Even worse than this place I had in Austin which I wouldn't go back. It wasn't fresh and the quality was so bad :( I hope they read this review and make some changes because $21 for lunch should be better than this. Sushi Masa in Plano is better than this. There are so many other ayce sushi places in town. They must be fresher than this? Lesson learned... Yes we are disappointed but again willing to pay our share bc our hostess waitress Julie was so nice. Have to commend her for being so sweet amidst the horrible food

I've been to Michelin starred omakases (including tempura omakases) in Japan and New York, and this place honestly meets or comes extremely close to fitting the bill in terms of food and service. At the Michelin restaurants, you pay almost double the price for high quality ingredients, stellar service, ambiance, and a Japanese toilet :P For $100 pp for the tempura omakase at Takumi Hachi, you leave feeling full and satisfied, with a great selection of light and deliciously fried fritters. Each person gets a bowl of their divinely delicious tempura sauce with a generous amount of shaved daikon (not even lying when i say this is my favorite tempura sauce i've had, i could've just drank it on its own) and a selection of salts, with each course given a recommendation of which salt to use. In terms of ambiance: frankly speaking, if it was just the counter service omakase, i'd say it would feel more stuffy and unapproachable. But there is a general seating area that is not counter service where you can order off the menu for sushi, robata, and a la carte options. No dress code enforced or recommended, so you can be dining with all sorts of patrons with different sizes of families and children. whether or not this is your jam, it's still an extremely accessible place to dine for anyone and everyone. Reservations were incredibly easy to make (tempura omakase only From Sunday thru Thursday). Service was really kind and attentive, my husband's water literally never went below half empty. The only thing to take service to the next level is if they cleaned/wiped your plate/gave you a new plate between each course. American toilet. Lol. That's neither here nor there, but the bathroom is very clean lol! They were also sweet enough to read my reservation note for the occasion for dining and gifted us a delicious strawberry mousse, accompanied with a surprise tableside matcha to end the meal. I'm already looking forward to try their kaiseki set meal next time, and know that this place is a top contender to take my friends or loved ones for special occasions. I can't speak much for their sushi, but I added on some robata and grill menu items to the omakase and they were fantastic. Highly recommend the maitake mushroom tempura add on to your course. If you order ebi sushi, they offer to take the head once you're done eating the sushi and either put it in a miso soup or fry it for you, which i thought was a wonderful option. Also, we got tempura anago, something I've never had anywhere else, served two different ways. That alone was enough to make this experience stand out. For an experience like I had tonight, I felt as if the restaurant should be more full. Maybe because it is tucked away behind the other chain restaurants in Addison that are a little easier to see. Don't hesitate if you see the price tag, I definitely think you get a great value for food, service, and experience. We were there for two hours and enjoyed it very much. The inside is tiny and there isn't even a proper "waiting" area. I've also tried coming here before, and there was also a long wait. I'm glad I decided to stick it out this time. We ordered the Wagyu sushi, Yakitori, Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, and the Tomato Ramen. The Wagyu sushi is torched right in front of you! The Wagyu was incredibly tender and the sauce was delicious. My only *nitpicky* critique is the rice was ever so slightly too moist, but that didn't stop me from inhaling the sushi. Next, the Yakitori was phenomenal. I've never had such tender chicken in my life. There was a nice layer of delicious sauce coating the skewer. Again, just a really nitpicky feedback I have was that I wish the Yakitori had the tiniest bit more char to it, but nevertheless was an incredible bite, and I'd 100% order again in a heartbeat. Onto the ramen - easily hands down one of the best ramen I've had in DFW. The broth is flavorful, and I love the noodles. I'm not sure if they're handmade from scratch, but they had the perfect thickness and chewiness. I also loved generous the portion of cha shu slices. Most other places only give you 1-2 thin slices, but that was not the case here. The pork was tender. The ajitama was solid too, although I prefer more of a soft-boiled egg. While the meat portion is more generous here, the tonkotsu didn't come with many vegetables. A lot of other ramen places I've been to will have corn, fried garlic, etc as default, but those are all additional cost add-ons here. The ramen was delicious without them though but just something to note. We also got the tomato ramen as it's the chef recommendation. The dish is very creative and the execution was great. Personally, I still prefer traditional ramens but it was certainly a nice culinary creation to try. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would come here again. Just be aware there may be a wait, and because they're so busy, you do have to proactively flag down staff. However, the staff are still really nice despite all the tasks they're juggling at once.

I'm going to preface this by saying there's a lot of potential here but it's sufficient for the…read moredemographic that it serves. We got spicy gyoza to start, black pork tonkatsu w/ small curry rice bowl and a spicy dan dan. Gyoza came smothered in their sweet garlic chilli which defeats the purpose of a crispy gyoza skirt. It might be better to retain the crisp and crunch of the gyoza skin with the chilli sauce on the side? On to the ramen -- if you want to know if you're getting a quality bowl, look no further than the preparation of the egg. No respectable ramen shop would serve you well done boiled eggs which was the case here. The tonkatsu had heavy garlic flavor which is good but was unfortunately overshadowed by the abundance of burnt garlic bits. Not much to say about the Dan Dan. Bathroom clean but had a strong smelled. Would not go out of my way nor return with the amount of noodle options in dfw.
