When you think of an omakase experience, it's usually a nice, quiet, classy environment you'd take someone on a romantic date. Sushi On Me breaks that standard and makes it an absolute party with a DJ on site, blasting great tunes while you "Enjoy Your F***ing Dinner". It's an absolute party, making this ideal for some sort of celebration, whether it's a birthday or girls night out. Also, the course comes with unlimited sake. For the 15 course itself, it is a Thai influenced menu, so there are some really creative dishes they made it work. They're not just an artwork, but also tasty. Some of the pieces involve a bubble gun, smoker, and blow torch. Speaking of blow torch, the sushi chef likes audience participation and you may be the lucky person chosen to blow torch one of the course for everyone. No pressure! I have a friend that raves about this spot, so I was excited to finally check it out. This 15 course omakase comes with bottomless sake, so perfect for a night when you're ready to party and get drunk. Of course to make the meal worth it, we are taking a shot of sake with every course. All the employees are friendly and joining in on the shots, so it's super fun! The 15 course has some Thai flair, so half the courses aren't your typical nigiris only. I honestly enjoyed the variety of fish, especially the Tom Kha soup. The dishes are also interactive with smoke, soups, and some torching, so you basically get dinner and a show. Loved the experience and fun vibes of this omakase all for $100. It's such a fun and unique way of doing omakase, the service was great and always attentive of filling drinks making sure everyone is having a good time. While I concur with other Yelpers about the sake being watered down-- downing two pitchers didn't deliver the expected buzz. The sushi, unfortunately, fell short on freshness and missed the mark. TLDR: An interesting and "litty" omakase experience that is okay value for the novelty, if that's your thing (average sushi, watered down sake). Visited the restaurant as a guest for a good friend's birthday celebration so most of our party took up the whole restaurant (this place is great for groups). The staff themselves are super friendly and gregarious, it can absolutely be a fun party vibe if you're coming in after a couple drinks and shmoozed in the evening when the sun goes down. However, our group came in at 5pm, so it was a tad bit awkward at sometimes when we were trying to channel that night raccoon energy when the sun was out and beaming. The sushi combinations themselves were definitely different--I thought the thai fusion versions were a little gimmicky, personally--it seemed like a way to cheapen the dishes. I didn't feel like the fish quality was particularly great--just okay and just one notch up from your regular sit down average sushi restaurant. I did feel rushed--they took our dishes super fast and also announced names of food really fast so I couldn't get a total gist of what I was eating. There were some pieces I liked and others that were particular let-downs, even big hitters like bluefin were just ok. Overall if you value delectable fish quality and unique combinations that knck your socks off, this place is crossed off. I would not pay $100 to dine here for okay sushi and watered down sake. If you want a party experience and want to knock a dinner off your list of celebrations, this might be the move--although it is cash only which is a PAIN if you're the host. Sushi omakase, as you might imagine from movies and television, seems like a staid affair. A master sushi chef in a quiet room carefully slicing each piece of fish that's ever-so-delicately placed in front of you to taste. Sushi on Me is nothing like that. When you first enter you immediately discover that this will not be a boring night. After you're met at the door and your reservation is confirmed, you're led to the sushi bar where music is pumping and (unlimited) sake is waiting for you. There are party lights illuminating an otherwise dimly lit room. The ambiance is more of a house party than anything you'd imagine a $100+ sushi omakase would be like. My most recent visit was on New Year's Eve, which only added to the fun, but previous visits have been a blast as well. Once everyone is seated the chefs do introductions, and you will almost certainly take a shot of sake. Don't surprised if one or more of the staff have been drinking, particularly later into the night. At the end of the introduction, the staff orders you to do one thing: Enjoy Your F***ing Dinner! You won't have much trouble enjoying the menu. The sushi is creative and fun with several unique twists. Among the courses, a few are very memorable (impressive, given all the sake). One course is fish served in a martini glass, with a smoky bubble blown for you and placed on top. Another very creative course is the salmon with a garlic chili crisp, served in a snifter. The choice to serve in a snifter glass may seem odd at first, but wait a few moments and you will find that the chef has repurposed a smoke gun to burn marijuana, with the smoke "poured" into your glass where it hangs. After inhaling the smoke (get it all, it does actually get you a bit high), scoop out the fish with your chopsticks and enjoy. Simply something I've never seen done across a variety of tasting menus, and a fantastic, innovative use of marijuana legalization in New York State. Throughout the courses music is blasting, and people are drinking and singing along. Simply put, it's a fun time. Perhaps my only criticism would be the pacing of the courses. The menu starts off with several exciting and creative dishes, but then towards the end almost peters out into fairly traditional nigiri. While it's certainly tasty, it's almost (almost!) boring compared to the beginning of dinner. Certainly nothing to dissuade you from eating here, but maybe something I'd consider changing if I was the chef. The night goes by quickly, and you'll be left wishing it didn't end. One thing to note is that they are cash only, so stock up before arriving at your bank of choice if you don't want to pay the fee for the in-restaurant ATM. All that said, if you like sushi and you like having a good time, Sushi on Me is for you. You will almost certainly enjoy your f***ing dinner. read more

If you're in the Williamsburg area, this spot is a must!!!! Such a great vibe and even though we reserved the earlier dinner spot, the staff were GREAT with such high and fun energy! In case you did not know, this spot offers an omakase style menu with all you can drink sake!!!! They definitely know how to encourage shots of sake without being pushy about it. Something to be aware though is that there are 2 carafes.. one is sake and one is water! Be careful haha Personally, I prefer when omakase's include strictly raw fish offerings but when you go to a more modern spot like Sushi on Me, you will get a mix of cooked fish and even some meat options. They did a nice job with balancing the wow factor, the quality of the food and the presentation! I also love that there is only a bar seating option so you can watch them as they create all of the dishes! TLDR: Unique Omakase experience filled with modern takes on sushi favorites and endless sake. Great for a groups of 8-10 friends so you can have the whole restaurant to yourself. Vibe: 5/5. Located in the heart of Williamsburg, this is Sushi on Me's 2nd location. Similar the original, the restaurant is only comprised of the counter seating around the sushi bar. Personally, I am a fan of this setup, as Omakase style dining is best enjoyed bellied up to the bar with the chefs handing you the pieces. The U shaped sushi bar has room for 10-12 diners per seating, so this is a great option for larger groups to "takeover" the entire restaurant for an unofficial private experience. Though in order to do this, reservations are highly recommended, as Sushi on Me only has a handful of seatings each night. Service: 5/5. The staff at Sushi on Me were beyond amazing during our dinner service. My group of 6 were fortunate enough to have the whole restaurant to ourselves, so the staff comprised of 3 gave us amazing service. Each dish of the omakase was prepared right in front of us and was explained thoroughly upon serving. Sushi On Me's main appeal is the endless sake pours, which the staff made sure we took advantage of by constantly keeping our sake carafes filled to the brim. They were also engaging and funny, egging us on with each sake shot we took. Our dinner was a birthday celebration, which the staff made sure to make special by adding an additional sushi piece at the end as well as a special dessert with a "bright" presentation. Even though each dinner is supposed to be only an hour in length, we never felt rushed. The staff truly take this omakase experience to the next level. Food: 5/5. Sushi on Me offers a modern twist on the traditional omakase. The entire meal is comprised of 14-15 "courses", some being hot dishes from the kitchen and most being nigiri. The kitchen dishes ranged from flash fried fish to tuna cones to scallop crudos on the time of our visit. As for the sushi, all the usual suspects were offered during our dinner, ie. fatty tuna, sea bream, uni, fatty salmon etc. Several pieces were elevated with the use of citrus via lime zest and yuzu which was a nice touch. The menus change regularly, so there's no guarantee that what you are served one night will be the exact same a few days later. Overall, it's a solid sushi service. I don't get the low ratings that have been given to Williamsburg sushi on me. Is it your typical Omakase ? No. Is is more fun??? YES. I've been to both locations and I gotta say, both are killing it. While the Jackson heights spot is more hype (due to freedom to blast music), the overall vibe very much still is up in willyB. Recently went here- was fun but did not live up to the hype. This place cash only and they are absolutely making hand over fist. It's $100 per person with "unlimited" sale. As others have mentioned the sake is severely watered down so you can drink the whole time and not really get buzzed. Without the alcohol there are many much better omasake places in NYC now you can go to for way better food at a lesser cost. The dishes themselves were good I felt the Thai inspired ones maybe better than the sushi ones. Decent sushi but nothing amazing. The staff was very friendly but it all a routine they do over and over with little detail to each group. It def felt rushed and dishes were shoved in front of you quickly to turn the tables. The biggest let down was the interior. They have a neon sign, a disco ball in the corn and play the same playlist of tired hits like Black Eyed Peas with each course. Beyond that the interior is not even nice. There are old country like painting around in frames which have nothing to do with what's going on there. And old couch when you come in. The bar you sit at is super basic with no other design except the toaster oven in the corner. It soooo easily could be so much more fun and better but it was a let down. This was the most disgusting experience I have ever encountered. This in not omakase this is a racket. First let me preface this with saying it's a negative review and that I used to hate leaving negative reviews, but the economy has changed since covid - and with sky high inflation, people who are spending their cash should be able to expect not necessarily mind-blowing, but decent service at the least. My girlfriend and I came into the city for a concert from out of state and after four hours of driving and unpacking at the hotel, she told me we had a surprise reservation for dinner. We hopped in a cab and showed up at 6pm and when we walked in, after asking us what time our reservation was for (6:30 mind you) they shooed us out the door like vagrants loitering around the back of a liquor store and told us to come back in thirty minutes. So we took a not-quite-riveting stroll around a set of blocks and once we decided we'd had enough bodega counting, we went back and arrived at 6:23. We tried the door but they had literally locked it behind us, though you could clearly see right through the window that the staff were just standing around and nothing was happening. We knocked on the door and one of them opened it up, and after asking why they couldn't let people who have reservations for five minutes out come into the restaurant, they begrudgingly sat us at a dreary bar - which in fact was on brand because the whole interior has the charm of an orphanage struck by a Hezbollah missile. I tried to order a cocktail while we waited, but they only serve straight sake and one choice of beer so I took nothing and had to like it. We were then told dinner was waiting on two other reservations; for such sticklers for time, they had no problem making us and the other couple wait for the third who showed up ten minutes late. Once they sat down, the staff brought out not one but three plated courses ready to be launched in front of us. My girlfriend booked the reservation because it's billed as omakase, and isn't the point of omakase to have the chef tell everyone what he chose for that evening's dinner and why, while preparing it in front of you? Instead there were three tacky raw seafood dishes - caviar in a martini glass, (presumably) tuna presented in an ice cream cone, and some other indiscernible lump cloaked in black truffle - that had been sitting out for who knows how long in the back, and that only conveyed that A) this exists as stunt food for ending up on vapid influencer TikToks and B) shove it down your gullet as fast as possible, give us your cash and get the fuck out. At this point we decided to bail instead of getting intestinal worms, and my girlfriend had to argue to get her reservation deposit back; mind you it's fifty dollars per person via credit card online but once you're in the restaurant it's cash only, which shrieks tax fraud so loudly the only way it could be more direct is if they mailed a letter that said "please raid me daddy" to the IRS. After we walked out we took a cab to Rule of Thirds, where we were seated right away and ended up having a wonderfully gorgeous dinner. So unless your entire sense of self worth is tied to strangers double tapping on a picture, or you just love diarrhea, I implore you to skip this place for dignity's sake. read more

This place was a zero. Started in a "waiting room" or a covid hut with 12 other guests. The sweet shrimp was sitting in a martini glass for no less than 15 minutes before it was served, the warm dishes were cold, the sake was room temperature, the price was not cheap. Multiple pieces tasted fishy(yellow tail and fatty tuna). If you want to spend an hour and half watching the a Japanese Omakase experience destroyed to shreds, go here.
