For fish that's raw , we spent 1 hour and 10 minutes in there, mind you we came in knowing what we wanted so we didn't take time out to scroll through the rolls. I've been to many omakase places and this place is really good if you are looking for a budget omakase. $55 for 10pcs omakase. Every piece was delicious and fresh tasting. My sister is allergic to shellfish and they were able to modify some of the sushi pieces for her. I left my credit card by accident and they called me right away to let me know (they had my phone number from the reservation I made). Nice ambiance and extremely friendly and accomodating staff. While the lettuce is boring like any side salad, the dressing was amazingly fresh and delicious. We love tuna crispy rice so decided to try it here. It was a miss and expensive for what it is. The quality of fish they serve here is immaculate and I'll be coming back for more since I live nearby. They have uni as well which is unheard of for a table service omakase for 80 dollar sushi plate because usually they leave that one out because it's very expensive. But their uni quality was just as good as other chefs counter omakase I have had. Their scallop, tuna and shrimp was so tasty, and they even come with a little soft shell crab in this set. I came here around 3 times and the only reason we don't come here more often is because we live in queens and it takes 1.5h to get here by train but it was worth the travel. This is my first omakase experience and it had set the bar way too high. I've been to other omakase locations that is twice as expensive but I still gear toward location. You just can't beat their price for the quality you get and you also get ice cream at the end. There are two options: only sushi or sushi and sashimi. The ambiance, food quality and service are all great. If you are doing omakase you should do bar seating but they do offer it if you sit on the dinning tables. They do also have normal menu of omakase is not your cup of tea but I didn't try since every time I went straight for the omakase spot. But be careful, they have another location that is very close to this one, like 11pm walk apart. My very first time I went to their other location by mistake while my bf went to this location and got so confused why we don't see each other when we both already arrived. read more

I am the vegan of the group and I ordered two basic veggie rolls; the sweet potato tempura and the avocado roll. Both were good and the avocado tasted very fresh! The atmosphere and the service at Ki Sushi was fantastic, we had a large group and they were very accommodating. The inside of the restaurant is also very cute and spacious. I'm (not) the vegan of the group. I ordered multiple special rolls and all were great along with the quality of fish. I also ordered the fatty tuna which just melted as soon as you ate it and my favorite on my plate. Food came out pretty quick for a Friday night. Ki Sushi has become our go to sushi spot since the pandemic! While we haven't actually eaten at the restaurant, we've ordered delivery quite a few times. They're not on any apps, but you can order directly from their website and we've never had a problem. The first time we ordered, we were celebrating a birthday so we splurged and got the omakase. Definitely yummy, but not necessary! You can get away with the sushi combo for just as good a meal! We usually get that + another spicy tuna roll to share between the two of us. The combo also comes with a miso soup. The fish is always really fresh and the prices aren't cheap, but they are reasonable! I am a self-admitted sushi snob, and this place is legit. During quarantine, I ordered sushi delivery from two places. One was disgusting. The other was fine; like grocery store sushi. And then there's Ki. A friend and I met here and took advantage of their outdoor dining, which was appropriately distanced. Servers were wearing masks and gloves and provided hand sanitizer before and after the meal. Our table was on a bit of a decline, but it wasn't an issue. We started with the warm mushroom salad, which was divine. We smelled this dish as it was delivered to the table next to us and had to have it ourselves. No regrets. For my entree, I ordered the sushi and sashimi combo. When it arrived, I knew it was going to surpass my expectations, just based off appearance. The sashimi was cleanly sliced; the fish was perfectly portioned; and all of it looked fresh. Nothing was slimy. Everything was the perfect temperature. I hadn't eaten sushi this good since I lived in Japan. And it was truly prepared traditionally, including the wasabi under each slice of fish on the nigiri. If you're not a wasabi fan, take note. It's gonna be there. I just moved to NY this year and want to try as many restaurants as I can, but I'm going to be hard-pressed to risk that another place is as good as Ki. Ki Sushi is exceptional in terms of both food and service. They get pretty busy, especially with limited outdoor seating available. The staff is very friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. The prices are on the higher end but it's worth it for the quality of the food. For appetizers, I got the yellowtail carpaccio and maguro avocado. Both of which were flavored well and smooth to the mouth. The sashimi dinner had an assortment of different fish. They were sliced nicely and not too thick. The fish was so smooth and practically melted in my mouth. I also got the ki roll, fancy roll, and tamago. Everything had top quality fish and even the tamago was tastier than anywhere else I've tried. It was soft yet held together and seasoned slightly. Other entrees I tried were the kamo soba and the grilled spicy miso sea bass. The soba was very light in flavor and refreshing. The sea bass was delicious. It's not spicy at all and had a perfect crisp on top. It sits on top a bed of vegetables that soaked up the tasty sauce that it's cooked in. Overall, come here for tasty, authentic sushi. I'm changed not and I can't go back. You will never catch me at another sushi spot in the area. I know the name sounds like any other neighborhood spot and not a fancy omakase spot but don't let it full you. I'm not joking when I say I come here at minimum 3x a month. This is our go-to dinner in the area and we also frequent the location on Smith St. We never leave here disappointed - or hungry. The slices of sashimi are thick and fresh, and you can tell they really care about quality just as much as the presentation. The service is always amazing too! Super friendly, attentive and thoughtful! They always bring a bowl of water out of my pupperoni, bring share plates even for a side salad, checks in to see if we need anything but not in an annoying way. I can't recommend this place enough. We usually start with the tempura app (and lately the miso eggplant *chef's kiss*), get the sushi and sashimi dinner, and an extra roll - my fave is the fancy roll. If you're a sashimi kinda person, definitely don't forget the chu toro - that ish is FIRE. And it you're a roll kinda person, the fancy roll or the spicy salmon is unbeatable. As you know I have a very honest approach to reviews. To get 5 stars means you were above and beyond the expectations in both food AND service. I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a bad moment or meal at Ki Sushi - even during the pandemic when it was scary to even think of eating out. The TNT truffle is by far one of my most favorite things here and I don't care how full I am, I will never eat here and not order that dish. It is sex on a plate. Beautiful to look at and an umami of flavor explosions in your mouth both texturally & taste. The lunch specials are also such a fabulous deal that if you are near its well worth the trip. All in all - everything from decor, service, food is the tops and although it may seem a little pricey for its location, it's worth every single cent. The only thing we've had that we wouldn't get again is the Warm Wild Mushroom Salad. The mushrooms are absolutely delicious but the plate is high in price for something that is 90% greens hidden under what looks like a mound of mushrooms but is only a thin layer hiding the greens. Came here twice, both times to celebrate birthdays. First time was on a Sunday and it was a quiet night so we had superb service and attention. I enjoyed it so much, I decided to book dinner here a month in advance for a Saturday night to celebrate my mother's birthday. Second time around was not quite as great and it was a tad awkward since I seemed to have over-hyped the restaurant's impeccable service to my family. We had arrived promptly for our 7pm seating and after being told our table wasn't ready yet, we waited 15 minutes before we were informed that actually, our table was nowhere near ready because they had seated a family with young children who were eating slower than they expected. To the management's credit, they offered to reshuffle some other customers around in order to make another big table available for us. We all opted to order their omakase, claimed to have selections air shipped from Tokyo Tsukiji Market. For $60, the price can't be beat. After placing our orders, service lagged quite a bit. It was an hour before we receive the first sashimi part of our omakase. The omakase itself was good, not entirely amazing but the nigiri pieces were decent. Due to the prolonged wait, we were so starving, we inhaled most of the platter within minutes, then continued to play the half hour waiting game for the next part. My brother felt compelled to add a roll in hopes of having something else to eat. The restaurant did offer complimentary bowls of edamame to nibble on after we sat around for a while, but no one came around to refill our tea unless prompted. When they came to clear our dishes, I quietly reminded the waitress that it was my mother's birthday and if we can order dessert. They brought out a small tiramisu with a birthday candle for her while dropping down a few bowls of ice cream (green tea or ginger ice cream) for the rest of us. The ice cream was excellent quality and we appreciated the special birthday treat. All in all, Ki Sushi is a spacious relaxed place to try a more budget friendly omakase, but since I had two occasions here for comparison, I think service the second time around was just overwhelmed by the Saturday crowd. read more

I love Ki Sushi because the food is so consistently amazing, the people are so kind, and the interior is really lovely. This place is classy enough if you want to dress up, but also has a casual atmosphere if you are looking for a quick dinner. All of the rolls that we got were amazing! I would rate Ki Sushi four and a half stars. Ki Sushi is located on a stretch of Flatbush Avenue with some outstanding sushi restaurants. Ki certainly does not disappoint. I was immediately impressed by the sake menu and that the seafood for the omakase is imported from the famous Tsukiji Market in Tokyo. I started with the Dassai 45 sake. It was a nicely balanced sake. My wife and I shared the crispy rice topped with tuna. I enjoyed the textural contrast between the crispy rice and the soft (pleasantly mushy) fish. For the main course, I had the sushi and sashimi omakase. Quite a nice variety of seafood was featured in the omakase. I liked the focus on ikura (caviar) which was incorporated in a few of the items featured on the platter. My wife and I shared a couple of desserts. E shared the vanilla ice cream tempura and the Cappa pistachio which was a chocolate and pistachio ice cream swirl topped with pistachio crumbs. The tempura was incredible. It came with a side of caramel sauce. It was the best ice cream tempura that I've ever had and one of the best desserts I've ever had. It's a must order. The service was attentive. We went around 8pm and we were seated right away. I called right before I got to the restaurant and the lady said they have a lot of tables available in a joking way which made me laugh . The tables were well distanced from each other which was a positive. I also liked how the restaurant dimmed the light. We decided to order the blistered shisito peppers, Sushi Omokase and Sushi & Sashimi Omokase. The shisito peppers came out really fast. The peppers were tasty and the yuzu salt that came with it was excellent. As for the sushi & sashimi, every piece was super tasty. I recommend the sushi Omokase cause you get 10 super taste pieces without breaking the bank. The only part I did not like was waiting. I mean who likes waiting for food when you are hungry however I felt like it took longer than normal. I saw that they have a lot of takeout orders so I'm assuming that was the reason.
