Temaki Starter Set - spicy tuna
    Azen N.

10/10 sushi experience!!! Got a 5:30 resy about a week out for the bar seats. For starters got the spicy tuna dip & cucumber salad - highly recommend both. For the main got the Temaki starter set. SO good and so reasonably priced ($30). Every roll was so delicious - my fave was the spicy tuna, but I am also obsessed with tuna. Got the tequila matcha cocktail and it was delicious. Very balanced! Lastly, the interior is beautiful. Super high ceilings with a bright light. My only recco - if you're with 3 or more grab a table vs. bar seat.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary brunch and Nami Nori did not disappoint! We made reservations and mentioned it was our anniversary when we arrived. Sat at the bar area where the chef's were busy preparing dishes for other customers. They initially didn't really greet or make any conversation with us, which I thought was a bit awkward as any folks sitting at a bar setting would be welcomed with a friendly, "hello" or "hi, welcome" - there was nothing. We didn't take it personally, we figured they were just busy. Though, the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. We ordered the Temaki sets, signature and the starter set. We also ordered the mushroom dip and the ocean trout sashimi for our appetizers. My wife LOVED the mushroom dip, I did too. The texture and creaminess with the crunch of the crispy rice chips was absolutely satisfying to eat. The sashimi was super fresh, combined with the orange ponzu - it was the perfect bite. Our Temaki set was served one at a time, together by the chef at the bar, who finally spoke to us and wished us a happy anniversary. Each piece was made with precision and just the right amount of wasabi and soy sauce. Nothing to complain about but wanting more. The portion was decent, my wife and I were both not holding our belly full but just full enough which was great. Overall, we'd recommend Nami Nori. High chance of us returning for sure. On top of that, the waiter also surprised us with a free sparkling soda to celebrate our anniversary, very nice touch.

Amazing from start to finish! What seemed to be the manager was helping his team and took very good care of me. The tasting was incredible. Very chill vibes! Chefs were fantastic. Great value for everything I got.

The restaurant is brightly lit with table seating in the front and counter seating towards the back. We actually reserved counter seating as that was the only option on opentable but ended up getting a table seat when we arrived. Food here is fun, fresh and delicious. Can definitely get pricey depending what you order. There is a lunch special option as well which is very reasonable. There are also temaki sets but we decide to just order à la carte to try the exact ones we wanted.

Unique handrolls and overall great experience. I got the signature set and it did not disappoint. Definitely get this if it's your first time here or you're not sure what to order. I sat at the bar and it was a nice experience. They served each roll one by one and servers were attentive. Aesthetic of restaurant was nice and made the dining experience pleasant.

Walked in at 6pm on a friday for two. Staff was very accommodating and found table seating for us. Tuna poke classic, good, nothing special but was great Tempura big skip, too much batter and ypu only get two shrimps and two calamari. Pass As for the temaki, aka ebi, scallop, truffle, salmon serano, ikura, conut shrimp were phenomenal and i would get again The sets are the best value for sure as without the set the same rolls would be like 40ish The crab california and lobster one is mixed with mayo so because of that i wasnt the biggest fan

Made a reservation here on a Monday night at 7:30 pm. It's always hard to get reservations the day of (tried twice and couldn't get a good time slot), so make sure you check their site first. The West Village location is always booked too. A couple of my friends said that this was their favorite place to eat in the city, so I was super excited to try it! We got seated, and it took a pretty long time to get our orders started. We ordered the tempura misto, spicy tuna dip, and each got a signature set. Tempura misto $15- Definitely a pass. The breading was so thick and not appetizing. The pieces weren't really seasoned either. Spicy tuna dip $16- Recommend this! The rice chips remind me of the colorful fried ones they have at Chinese weddings. The tuna dip was also flavorful and light at the same time! Signature set $32- Not the biggest fan. A lot of the pieces weren't flavored or could have used a little tang. The tuna poke was my favorite, but the excessive fried shallots were overwhelming the flavor/texture of the fish. Coconut shrimp didn't have the consistency of shrimp and was also breaded thick. I was excited to try the sesame cucumber piece, but the sauce was thick and really salty. It reminded me a salted peanut butter consistency. Didn't work with the seaweed for me. The good wasn't particularly memorable, but the bad was disappointing. I'm not sure if I would come back!

Oh Nami Nori, you were fantastic. To start, the bamboo was fantastic - a sleeper hit. Then, I got the starter set, and man just hits on hits on hits. The fish was fresh and melts in your mouth, and the assembly process was fun and simple. The tuna and salmon were standouts. I got a sake too which was just delicious, and the waiters were very helpful in choosing one. The interior is small but well decorated and arranged. It is popular, so waits can get long just FYI. The service was helpful and thoughtful. I think this beats out Kazu Nori imo especially with the fun drinks and appetizer menu. Can't wait to come back!

We ordered the Signature Set, which was really good overall. My favorites were the coconut shrimp and the salmon sarano--both packed with flavor and beautifully done. For appetizers, we added the tuna crudo, which was incredibly fresh and delicious--definitely one of my top bites of the night. The tuna dip was also excellent (clearly, we're big tuna fans ). The only miss for us was the salad, which had a flavor profile that wasn't quite our taste. That said, the drinks were great and the service was attentive and friendly. Overall, a great experience and a solid spot for creative hand rolls and fresh fish. Would absolutely come back.

Stopped by Nami Nori Williamsburg for lunch and had such a great experience. We ordered the starter temaki course, which came with five hand rolls: California, tuna + avocado, yellowtail scallion, salmon + cucumber, and spicy tuna. Each one was perfectly wrapped with crisp nori and warm, seasoned rice, and the fillings were fresh and flavorful. I also got the melon soda, which was light, refreshing, and just the right amount of sweet. It added a fun, nostalgic touch to the meal. The vibe in the Williamsburg location is clean, minimal, and welcoming - great for a casual lunch that still feels special. I'd absolutely come back for another round. What I ordered: Starter Temaki Course * California * Tuna + Avocado * Yellowtail Scallion * Salmon + Cucumber * Spicy Tuna Melon Soda

Really cute hand roll spot in Williamsburg. Had reservations for the weekend and were seated right away even though we were a bit early. They suggest 5 temaki for a full meal but you can order however many you'd like. I had the summer special bbq toro, spicy tuna, jalapeño salmon, scallops, aka ebi. They were all good but my favorite was the scallops and aka ebi. They were well balanced and zesty. Sat at the bar so we were able to talk to the chef and get our preferences for wasabi, etc for each piece. The menu said everything is gluten free, they also have a good amount of vegan selection.

The menu is pretty diverse with various appetizers, sushi, and also ramen/curry so your standard izakaya fare. One of my favorite dishes here has been the chirashi. The fish was very fresh and it's pretty affordable. It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute. If I have a craving for some decent Japanese food, I would drive 20 minutes here for a meal anytime.

Also one of the BEST broths I have had in New York. It is comparable to some in Japan with how good that beef broth is. The chicken broth is excellent as well and worked since my friend has a dietary restriction. Sadly could not try the karaage since they sold out! Get it if you can. Food (5/5): probably some of the best ramen you can get in Brooklyn! You take a sip and it has so much rich flavor you can tell they took a long time to cook it. Just the right amount of salt that leads to explosive umami flavor with everything else included. Only downside is that the egg is an additional 2-3 dollars boosting the ramen price to 20 per bowl. Other than that, it's a great bowl of ramen I will be going again. I heard the steak was good from my friends but we got the okanomiyaki, it's pretty big, delicious, but only get it if you are a large fan of them. It's pretty pricey for what it is. Cucumber salad was delicious and fresh, nice hit of spiciness. Service (4.5/5): The person helping us is super nice, though there is a language barrier and that might cause some misunderstandings. I only brought it down half a point because you aren't going to get that understanding but they are very nice and try their best. Nothing wrong but it does get busy and you might have to call them for refills or other issues. The chefs are also very friendly. Cleanliness and interior (5/5): you can tell it's rather small, but modern and chic. Great for a night out to eat as they are open late. Great casual dinner spot and has a fantastic Lofi jazzy playlist that adds to it. Combined with the unforgettable beef broth, and you have a night to remember. J's Parking Advice- it's pretty packed at night because there is a lot to do around. Parking garages are a little far off too but everything is walkable once you find a spot. There is a street parking but it's hard to find, you might have to park far and walk there or public transport. We did take around 10-20 mins to find parking. So good luck! Overall: it's a spot I have to go back to especially since they sold out of the karaage! If that doesn't tell you how good it is not sure what else! Definitely a local favorite and a hidden gem
