Wowowow I am definitely coming back here. We ordered a set of food and enjoyed it so much, we ordered seconds on the spot. I don't remember the names of what we ordered but I took a photo so I could show the waiter next time I'm there. We walked in with 5 people and got a seat immediately on a Sunday night.
Verge does its best in its creative atmosphere and food presentation. We both got the soulmate special roll since we thought the name was cute and each of the pieces were thick and quite delicious. we were hungry but the rolls were quite filling and I would have asked for more but we were in a hurry. The rock shrimp came out quick and hot but it was clearly made fresh. there was also a bar counter which was interesting enough since you don't see much of that in sushi restaurants but it was a nice experience!
I ordered the trio maki lunch and added a scallop roll on Grubhub and it was all so good! The scallop was super fresh and sweet so I was very pleasantly surprised. The tempura was super flakey with panko. It was exactly what I wanted and the trio maki lunch deal came with a miso soup. Grubhub gives a discount if you are an Amazon prime member just fyi!! I would like to dine in when I have time. Would recommend!
Not pictured was the 10 nigiri piece entree. I thought that this entree was the least exciting of everything we got. The fish was mild. The tuna tartare was really good! It was a very small bite for 2. The soulmate was really cute and tasted like what I expected! The fried rice with the soy sauce on the table was yummy! It didn't feel as heavy as other fried rice.
Came on a Sunday evening and the restaurant wasn't too crowded. We did have a reservation however and was able to get a table. The ambiance of Verge is very nice with warm lighting and a modern interior design feel. The food was pretty good. I think there might be more economical options during lunch but for the quality of fish, it is pretty standard for nyc. I got a cooked roll because I am boring and don't like raw fish that much but my friends enjoyed their raw fish selections.
Order the miso mustard salmon omg it was SO perfect: cooked exactly medium as requested, the dijon sauce and the veggies both were so tasty! We also got the agedashi tofu which comes with 5 pieces and they are BIG and it's 9.50!?! My friends ordered a lot of sushi and crispy rice and they LOVED it. One of the best meals Ive had in 2026! Will be back soon! Staff are so welcoming! Love this neighborhood spot!!!
I'm not sure if you need reservations. But I made one for two people and in the beginning they had us sit at the counter and I wasn't too pleased with it. But I asked if we could have a table, and they were able to accommodate us and had a stool to place my bag on top. What great customer service. For the food, there were a bunch of starters that we ordered, such as the butter edamame. Omg! The edamame had a great mix of butter on it, plus the salt. I was very impressed. It tasted like buttery popcorn that you get at the movies. The least favorite was the Akami Tuna Sushi Rice, but it was still above average. The Kushiyaki, which had three skewers of rib eye with vegetables in teriyaki sauce which was amazing. The soul mate signature roll with fresh spicy tuna and avocado was made into a heart, and that not only tasted great but looked great, too. For dessert, I got the mochi and chose three different flavors. I would come back again to get other things off the menu.

I was looking for good sushi place for few hours then decided to order from here since reviews were good and pictures were look good too. Most disappointed part was sushi premium 10 piece nigiri. I had high hope that this was going to be good but it's not premium at all. They had one regular tuna, Salmon, all others were white fish that I don't prefer. Not uni, no ikura and no yellow tail. Just white fish they topping different. I cannot believe they call this premium and charge 60 dollars for it. These were not even tasty. I had better sushi at AYE restaurant On Verge Roll, uni was not fresh. I could taste bitter and some parts were melting and changing color. I still taste it from my stomach bitter sea smell and feeling nauseous. Trust me, I love uni usually. Wagyu toast was all over mess . I understand since it was delivered but it should be different way. My partner said hamach belly and wagyu nigiri was ok. I'm not sure if it was because delivery, they didn't use good ingredients?? Was it better to eat in restaurants? But I would not order from here again.

SOLID sushi spot in Greenpoint. The first time I came here (3ish months ago), all the sushi was great but then we ordered the Filet Mignon w/ Foie Gras and that was disappointing. Should have known better than to order a Filet Mignon at a sushi restaurant but my partner wanted to try it... Second time we came back more recently, we stuck to sushi/appetizers so our visit was much better with no failed items. Kona Kanpachi (4/5): very fresh yellowtail but the sauce is overpowering. We asked for the sauce on the side the 2nd time around and it was so much better. Paradise, Verge Authentic, Hokkaido Scallop Nigiri, California & Hokkaido Uni Nigiri, Yellowtail Jalapeno roll, and Spicy Scallop roll were all delicious and the fish to rice ratio was perfect. On the first visit when we ordered the Filet Mignon w/ Foie Gras, the waiter/kitchen actually forgot our order so we waited over 30 minutes for it (should have not reminded them looking back). Once we received it, the steak was closer to well done than medium rare so we asked for another one that wasn't well done. After the second one finally came out and we actually tried the steak, it was so underwhelming. Not the best quality meat and compared to all the sushi/fish items we had to force ourselves to finish it.
Went to this sushi bar with a few friends yesterday after finishing up at nearby Vessel Floats. We were excited to check it out as it had been on our lists to try for a few months now. The restaurant is fairly new, just over a year old, and you can tell how much the staff really cherish each customer. We were greeted immediately by a very personable server who let us choose our seats and quickly engaged us in some light conversation. As we sat down all of us were struck by the beautiful decor inside. The bar area had this stunning gold metal background and there were plants everywhere! Even the light fixtures were unique with gold oddly shaped bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Now to the food! I, as a non-seafood eater, ended up ordering the miso soup and tonkatsu. The miso soup felt like a warm hug and the tonkatsu was flavorful but just a little tough. My friends ended up ordering the miso soup as well, a seafood bisque which I heard was delicious, and an assortment of sushi rolls and oysters. I heard no complaints and in fact, everyone left full and happy. We also ordered a bottle of the yuzu sake which was dangerous!! Sweet and tasty :) Would absolutely come again!
So I came here with my friend for dinner tonight since we wanted to catch up and haven't had dinner together in awhile. I was skeptical of this place before going since it had only 40 reviews and the name didn't sound Japanese. Well we walked in the restaurant is beautiful and has an amazing atmosphere. Also was very crowded for a Tuesday night. I was so happy I called to make the reservation as they had no online reservation platform I could find. The servers here were very friendly and the food came out very efficiently. We ordered the signature verge roll, the paradise and the Chilean sea bass. The paradise came out first I think it was the best bite of the night and it was Uber fresh! This is quality toro and very quality uni! That was like heaven in your mouth, wish I had more than 4 pieces. Next put was the verge signature roll. On first bite I thought it tasted very fresh but was lacking something, so I dabbed a very little bit of soy sauce on it and it made the whole piece sing in my mouth. Again all fish was super fresh and high quality, uni was also still amazing in this. We finished off with the sea bass that was delicious and luscious. It wasn't heavily sauced or seasoned but I also don't think Chilean sea-bass really needs any of that. We had the first sale on the menu, korabatu? Or something similar to that and it was very good, a bit of a sweet melon taste and paired well with the food. It was more notes of junmai than daijingo. I will definitely be back to try more
Solid food with great decor and ambiance. My friend and I split the unagi donburi and the seared salmon w house sauce roll. The donburi, although a huge portion, was a bit cold. Could've been warmer and the sauce a bit less sweet? Or sour? There was something I didn't love about it, but I did think the eel was well-cooked and generous. Our roll was just okay. The sauce was super strong and overpowering. One downside -- the food came out pretty slowly and some of us didn't get our meals until others were almost done with theirs. But the servers were really nice and offered a complementary dessert for the table due to the wait.

Visiting Brooklyn, we decided to meet up with an old roommate of mine and he suggested we try out Verge since he had never been. We came on a Thursday night and while the restaurant was busy, we were able to snag a table right away. We ended up trying a few items off the menu such as the garlic shrimp, toro crispy rice, and the matador authentic roll. In short, everything we tried was really good! My favorite had to be the matador authentic roll. The lobster tempura with the filet mignon was a great surf-n-turf bite, very well executed. The toro crispy rice was simple but very good. And the garlic shrimp had a ton of flavor. All 3 items I'd order again without hesitation. We did try to order the yakitori skewers, and while one did arrive at the table (as pictured), that order was supposed to go to another table instead of ours. Unfortunately as I we finished up the dishes that got brought to the table, they either forgot to bring an order of the yakitori out so we decided to just skip it. It looks good though. On the night we went the server was really nice but the dishes took awhile to come out. They mentioned that they were short staffed that night, so I'd imagine on a normal day with full staff, this wouldn't be an issue. Overall, definitely would recommend this spot if you are craving sushi and other tasty Japanese inspired dishes. The prices were reasonable and the flavors exceeded expectations. read more

Very nice ambiance, loved how this place was decorated. Service was attentive, food was great. The dishes were all artfully presented and creative. My favorite would have to be the Greenpoint authentic roll. Wagyu uni toast was good but the toast itself didn't match up to the quality of the other ingredients. Sparkling sake was really nice and refreshing, something I hadn't had before. Had the mochi ice cream for dessert, which was super yummy (favorite was salted caramel followed by the passion fruit). read more

Such a good sushi place!! We came in for lunch and got their 3 roll special. The maki rolls were filled with fish, super fresh and flavorful! The service was quick and attentive. The vibe of the restaurant was super cute also. read more

I wish my friend who introduce me to this great restaurant (her favorite place) still lived in the area because we will probably hang out at this place often. She moved to long island, and she gave me a gift voucher as a Christmas gift. I decided to use it on my anniversary, so the night went well and wonderful. This time we enjoy a bottle of Kiku Nigori; nice unfiltered sake. - Toro Tartare; contemporary decoration, looks so much fun. - Paradise; fatty tuna wrap on uni and top with caviar and yuzu sauce (my most favorite) - Verge Rad carpet; suggest by our server, I just want something different and it is creative! - Sashimi Premium 12 pc; I get bigger set this time - Garlic Butter Ribeye Steak; cooked perfectly and I love it. - Lava Cake with Ice Cream; I always have room for dessert. - Hot Green tea; I guess not a lot of people order tea. It is actually more like rice tea than green tea, looks like make the whole pot but charge by cup. Service is great, they still keep the standard, good quality fish and mix modern interior. Even the restaurant isn't walking distance from my apartment, but I still prefer to come here for good, wonderful sushi. read more

I happened to be by this neighborhood a few days ago with my husband and we were craving some sushi. This place was the nearest so we gave it a tried. What an amazing experience! We sat at the bar, which is our favorite seats in a Japanese "sushi/OMAKASE" place. The servers were very attentive and helpful. They suggested some dishes to try like Truffle Toro Sashimi, a torched Salmon Roll and scallops sashimi. All of them were delicious. The toro melted in our mouths. I have to say that one of the highlights for me were the warm edamames in butter. I've tried so many edamames before but this ones really stand out with the butter twist. The place felt cozy and nice. I think they recently opened so I wish them the best of luck! read more

My boyfriend took me here for my 40th birthday. The pictures looked amazing and I was so excited to try all dishes. Unfortunately, it was only average for me. Everything tasted good, but not amazing. Presentation was beautiful. Service was amazing. It just fell short a bit in terms of the details. The rice in the sushi was overcooked and under seasoned and the dishes that had raw fish were served too cold. Also, skip the wagyu, uni toast. Not worth it for the price. read more

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants, which I usually order from, offers good portions that are neither too small nor too large. The food is always fresh, even when ordered for delivery, maintaining high food quality. I recommend it for sashimi and sushi lovers. read more

Love this place!! Deducting one point because they didn't serve their nigiri with sushi rice (it's basically white unseasoned rice) the first time I went. The inside is so cute and smells really good. they have a lot of must orders; -paradise (8/10); uni wrapped in toro. Need I say more? It's like the pieces of an omakase that you actually want, over and over again. -verge authentic roll (8/10); salmon tuna yellowtail avocado with uni and ikura on top. Absolutely phenomenal Toro tartar was good and so was the scallops. Been back several times read more
Came here for a late dinner date before heading out to a couple of listening bars in the area. I saw this place on one of the tik toks I follow, and the rolls looked cool and inventive so decided to check it out. One thing to note is that you cannot make a reservation online, you have to do it over the phone which is a tad inconvenient. Made a reservation for 9pm and though we got there right on time, we had to wait for nearly 30 mins to sit down because they were running behind. The place is quite small with a limited amount of tables so it makes sense. Once we were seated, service was great. Our server was super nice, and gave us plenty of recommendations and checked in often. We got the Toro crispy rice, which was chopped tuna on cripsy rice with avocado and truffle sauce. I thought it was pretty good, though it was a little oily and don't remember getting any truffle flavor. The Greenpoint Authentic roll was fantastic. The crab and pineapple inside were tasty and the seared salmon was nice and fresh and melted in your mouth. The mayo on top made it the perfect bite. The Matador roll was honestly not my favorite but I was not their for steak so I won't complain. My date enjoyed it but thought they could have done without the cucumber inside. Lastly, we got the Paradise app which was also great. The uni and tuna tasted really fresh and the yuzu sauce added some nice flavor. Overall, I loved the sushi here and would return if I were in the area to try more of their rolls! Rating 4.5/5 stars. read more
Holy mother of sushi! Wowwww. This place is unreal. The starter of Paradise- blue fin tuna wrapped around the best uni ever is a must. Sashimi sampler, must. Best sake. Definitely closer to 4.5, this place really is a little gem. First things first: the service here was so lovely and attentive, I would give service alone 5/5. The ambiance was also very cute and homey, the lounge music was a bit on the classical/formal side but nonetheless nice. Now the food, I was pleasantly surprised! - edamame butter (5/5): probably the best edamame I've had to be honest. Yes, it's "just" edamame but the garlic and butter flavoring is not to be missed. - verge red carpet (4.5/5): loved the creativity and texture of this one - Kani salad (4/5): solid and refreshing. Portion size was bigger than expected. - soft shelled crab (5/5): just yum, I could have eaten another one of these. Fan of the spicy Thai sauce too. - scallop maki (4.5/5): great flavoring, also thought the value here was good since it came with ~6 pieces - jalapeño yellowtail maki (3.5): wish they would have seared the jalapeño or added more flavoring - black cod (4/5): nice flavors with a nice variety of vegetables - soul mate signature role (4/5): very adorable in a heart shape - lava cake (4/5): solid, staple dessert - caramel pudding (4/5): it's more like a flan, deep caramel flavors, simple presentation. Verge is a great spot in Greenpoint offering all types of sushi and hot Japanese entrees. I really enjoyed the sushi menu because it varied from fusion style sushi with all different flavors to a traditional nigiri line up that was delicious! We had the: - Verge Red Carpet which was a spicy salmon and potato crunch wrapped in a pickled beet - Truffle Akami Chu Toro which was a medium fatty tuna served in wasabi yuzu sauce topped off with shaved truffle - Soul Mate Signature Roll which was a spicy bluefin tuna avocado served in a heart-shaped roll, wrapped in more bluefin tuna and topped with beet crunch - Sushi Premium which was a fantastic nigiri line up - Seafood Magazine which was a shrimp, scallop & lobster tail medley accompanied by corn and asparagus served in a buttercream sauce Everything was solid - my favorites were the truffle akami chu toro, the soul mate roll and sushi premium! @nycfoodsnob read more
Verge is amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough. The fish is fresh and they have so many great options for rolls. A lot of different items to choose from the menu as well like appetizers and hot dishes. The staff is incredibly nice and just want their customers to be happy. They put a lot of effort into the presentation of the food and quality like I said is top notch. Ambiance is also a 10/10 - very relaxing vibe and takes you out of the hussle and bustle of New York. Their greenpoint signature roll is also such a smash with the torched pineapple! LOVE - have been here 3x now and will forever be a staple. read more
New, cool, hip Japanese restaurant in greenpoint! Highlights: the sleek and modern interior design & friendliness of the waiters Appetizers: samba scallops- the flavor was very simple and delicious! (buttery, garlic and lemon) however it was a lil over cooked and could've been seared more for the main, we got the sushi premium (opted for the 10 piece set) and although the pieces weren't bad, none of them really stood out. I think the main thing that could've been better was the fish was very room temperature- almost warm. If the fish had been a little colder, it would've helped to add a fresher touch. Tip: it gets very loud once all the seats are taken so I wouldn't recommend this spot for a first date. My bf and I sat super close right next to eachother at the bar seats and we still had difficulty hearing eachother I'd recommend this spot if you're looking for a super low $ omakase place since the pieces are made right in front of you and it's only $50 for 10 pieces of sushi compared to usual omakase places starting in the $70s range. read more

This place is truly a hidden gem and I wont be surprised if it evolves to become a premier sushi spot in BK First of all the staff were wonderful. We went on a night that was luckily not too busy. Our server was polite, attentive, and gave us great recommendations. The ambiance is very warm and friendly. Place isn't too big. Perfect for a good date night. We started off with the paradise (Hokkaido wrapped in bluefin with some caviar). Nuts. 10/10 recommend. We almost ordered a second. Every other thing we ordered was fantastic. We got the toro crispy rice, verge signature roll, sushi premium (assortment of chefs choice of fish), house fried rice, garlic butter ribeye, scallop Maki, and toro Maki. Every single item was incredible. The fish was so fresh. The fried rice was excellent. I will certainly be going back! Of note! No cocktails. They do have a solid collection of Japanese beer.
