ROASTED CHICKEN CLUB SANDWICH + Drip Coffee
    Bob S.

Superba is a solid local coffee spot in Pasadena. The menu is a little pricier than your average coffee shop but you're paying for a great, "non chain like" atmosphere. Staff is friendly and genuinely makes an effort to interact with customers in my opinion. I came by on a Sunday and ended up getting the roasted chicken club along with coffee(see picture). The space gets great outside airflow and plenty of sun. A concept that works well in Southern California. I definitely recommend it as a great place to hang out and grab a bite along with good quality coffee.

    Strawberry matcha latte
    Emily T.

A cute, casual spot near the Metro station! I ordered the golden latte (aka turmeric latte) ($6.50) and strawberry matcha latte ($7), both iced. It was my first time having a turmeric latte, and I liked it! It came with black pepper on top. It was the right amount of sweet, and despite the lack of caffeine, I still felt a bit energized drinking it. The strawberry matcha latte was decent. I liked the matcha and didn't think it was too sweet, though I wish the strawberry flavor was more prominent. For the price, I wish the drinks were bigger. All of the drinks come in one size, and I think the size is on the small side. The service was friendly and quick. FYI - Superba does automatically add a 3% "happy + healthy surcharge," but you can request to have it taken off your receipt.

Matcha lemonade and Cold brew with whole milk

Delicious! Highly recommend their matcha lemonade and their cold brew with whole milk. Service was great and the indoor outdoor concept of their patio is super cute and great for summer! I love me a patio with lots of light! Excited to try their food next time.

WHEN: Fri @10:30am PRO: + They have their own parking lot with free parking + Plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors + Variety of food, pastries, and drinks + Free WiFi + 2 Restrooms CON: - Some seatings me be directly in the sun - Limited to no outlets to charge devices Overall, I think this is a great place to get work done as long as you bring your own back up battery.

First time and probably the last time. Pricy. The mocha latte was so so, better when i added a sugar packet, but served in such a small cup. Another pricy item when I ordered a roasted chicken sandwich which unexpectedly was cold and came sandwiched between untrusted bread (not sure if that's supposed to be served that way). The egg salad sandwich was better. At least there was a small parking lot. The interior is nice. They also have outdoor seating available. The guy in the army shirt was nice and had good customer service. Meanwhile the blond lady in the purple shirt was curt, not rude but should not belong up front at the register.

Love the atmosphere and open design, or according to my 4 year old, "BEAUTIFUL." Yummy reasonable coffee and according to my four year old, the orange juice is "GOOD ." Very friendly customer service. Great place to grab a quick or long coffee with a friend or kid.

    Brown butter morning bun

Cute little breakfast spot. It's pretty quiet in there as many people are working on laptops or eating alone. Got a breakfast sandwich and a few pastries; everything was good but I didn't get to try their drinks. Would come back to pick up a quick bite if I'm in the area again!

Words cannot even begin to describe how much I love this place. Not only do they have the best Matcha latte in town but their customer service is *chef's kiss*. I always feel so welcomed and cared for when I come in. Ivan and Jason and the entire crew are absolute rockstars and make this place so special. It's also got the cutest decor and outdoor seating that's perfect for catching up with a friend or a study session. My only complaint is I wish they stayed open longer! Other than that, it's stellar coffee spot and worth visiting whenever you're in the Pasadena area. Cheers

    EGG SALAD SANDWICH
    Ali O.

Love this neighborhood gem! I come for the best egg salad sandos and espresso, aaaand cuz the folks who work here are lovely. They balance quick and personal--Isabel was the first to remember my name each visit and set the tone. Jason brings the most enthusiasm and is always taking care of details, like making sure tables are spotless. Noah is calm and kind, shooing a visiting June bug out the window rather than squishing it (truly cementing my loyalty to Superba). And Alex will wax philosophical about life and music without missing a (service) beat.

    Peanut butter dog treat!

I love this spot! I come here all the time to get breakfast and sometimes lunch to-go for work. The staff are the absolute best -- Isabell always puts a smile on my face and seems to remember everyone! I've tried almost everything on the menu by now and have never been disappointed. They always make a solid latte and their pastries are fresh baked daily. Very dog-friendly, indoor / outdoor cafe seating. My Frenchie especially loves the baked dog biscuits.

BREAKFAST BURRITO, SMOTHERED TOTS, UMAMI SALMON BOWL & MATCHA LATTE

Stumbled across this breakfast place! Was in the area and wanted a quick coffee + food spot. Glad we made the stop, food was delicious and we ended up eating outside on the patio.

    Orange Juice
    Jessica G.

I visited on a Friday around noon, there was no line, just a few people inside working on their laptops. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which came with two sauces and I added a side of tater tots. The burrito was good, with black beans, pico de gallo, and cheese melted on the outside that added a crispy layer. The orange juice was fresh! Overall, a good spot for a quick bite!

Had this bookmarked & noticed that a few Yelp Friends have left their reviews on here. It looks like that hometown feel type of shop but the experience today was NOT that. Service was polite but not quite that welcoming that you would feel at a mom n pops shop. It's too bad coz if it were, we would frequent this diner/cafe. Most places that we're regulars at, we feel valued as patrons and are welcomed like family. I find less and less places have this kind of atmosphere. We ordered breakfast staples; Hubby ordered a machaca combo with flour tortillas & black beans, I opted for the (2 large!) banana walnut pancakes combo with chicken apple sausage, potatoes & over medium eggs. Our food arrived timely, hot and good presentation. Hubby said the machaca was decent because having had his fair share of machaca, these passed. My pancakes were huge! Flavor was good, as the banana slices & walnuts were cooked in, not just placed on top like most places. Macadamias would've been a better pairing though. The chicken apple sausage was flavorful & eggs were cooked as requested. Noise level was somewhat loud with all the clanging as tables were cleaned/bussed around us. Overall a decent experience for our first time visit, as mentioned, if the service was more thoughtful & welcoming, it would've made the difference from a 3 star to perhaps a 4 or a 5 star. Food for thought.

Our food took quite a while to arrive, close to 30 mins! But the staff was very apologetic and even brought us a complimentary muffin while we waited. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious. I swapped the bacon for tofu, and it made for a satisfying breakfast. However, my husband wasn't as impressed with his brisket burrito, saying it was a bit dry. That level of attention to detail isn't something you expect from every brunch café, and it definitely showed in the final cup. The cortado was well executed. The milk was smoothly integrated with the espresso, creating a balanced body that held together throughout the drink instead of separating after a few sips. It was served in the proper glass with clean presentation and solid latte art. The temperature was slightly hotter than my personal preference, which is understandable in a brunch setting, but overall it was a great cortado and far better than what many brunch cafés serve. The pain au chocolat was outstanding as well and a perfect pairing with the cortado. The service made the visit even better. Our server, Michael (aka Bev), was welcoming, attentive, and provided excellent service from start to finish. I also had the chance to compliment the barista on the cortado. The Reyn is a popular breakfast spot in Pasadena and a place I still visit from time to time,…read moreusually when meeting friends or colleagues. Despite its popularity, I find the food to be fairly average. Much of it tastes like it's made from standard commercial food-service ingredients rather than prepared fresh. On the positive side, the prices are reasonable, the dining room has a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff is generally attentive. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood breakfast restaurant - nothing particularly memorable, but nothing especially disappointing either. The Reyn Special - 3/5. A classic breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and banana bread. The eggs and bacon are fairly average, although the bacon tends to be overcooked and dry. The standout is the hash browns. They're cooked with a nicely browned, crispy crust while still remaining fairly moist inside. The real highlight, however, is the banana bread. It tastes homemade and is easily the best item on the plate. Crepes - 1/5. This dish comes as two separate plates: one with the ricotta-filled crepes and another with eggs, sausage, bacon, and your choice of fries or tater tots. Unfortunately, the crepes are the weakest part of the meal. The ricotta-filled crepes don't taste freshly made and instead resemble a pre-made food-service product that's simply reheated before serving. Both the crepe and ricotta filling have a generic flavor with noticeable artificial notes. You can choose either banana or strawberry topping, but both sauces taste overly processed and artificial. The accompanying breakfast plate is noticeably better. I chose the tater tots, which were well prepared - crispy on the outside while remaining soft inside. The bacon, however, was again overcooked and dry, making it tough to chew. The sausage was acceptable but unremarkable. Scrambled Supreme - 2.5/5. Despite the name, this is essentially an omelet. The eggs have a mild, neutral flavor, and the fillings are okay but don't stand out. Coffee - 2/5. The coffee is classic diner coffee in every sense. It's somewhat watery, heavily roasted, and finishes with a flat, slightly bitter aftertaste. It's neither particularly good nor particularly bad - just standard coffee that does the job. Overall, The Reyn succeeds as a comfortable, affordable breakfast spot with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. While the food is average, and several dishes rely on ingredients that taste commercially prepared rather than freshly made.
