I visited Sunshine Cafe with my sister and brother-in-law for breakfast the other weekend. The place is packed so I suggest you come early. We put our names down and was told the wait would be about 30 min. After 30 min had passed, we went to check our spot in line and was told it would be another 30 min. I'm not sure why the time was underestimated the first time. Anywho, by the time we sat down I was starving. My sister and I shared an order of the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs $20 and an order of Biscuits and Gravy. We were confused because when our food came, we got a gravy boat but no biscuits. I think our server got our order confused. We notified our server, but by the time the actual biscuits and gravy order came out we were pretty much already done eating. She was still pretty nice though. We each got a boozy hot chocolate to go with our food. It was ok, but I think even a plain hot chocolate would have been good. read more

Deeeeeelicious! What a great avocado toast! I really wanted avo toast but I also wanted eggs and bacon but not heavy potatoes. This had it all. I could not have ordered a better meal. The simple salad on the side was great. Everything had amazing flavor. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive even though they were busy. While looking at the menu and around the cafe, I noticed many similarities between this establishment and Petit Soleil. Menu wording, decor style. I asked our waitress if it was the same owner. The weekend of Bottle Rock we stumbled upon this breakfast place and it was everything we expected. The food was delicious, i would say the sausage on the sandwich was a bit undercooked. But the place was cute and the service was amazing they kept on checking in to see if we needed anything. My friends and I came here for brunch on a day trip to Napa. It was kind of a long wait, somewhere around 45 mins, but it was understandable considering it was a Saturday morning and there was five of us. We ordered as soon as we were seated and it took maybe 20 minutes for the food to come out. It was nice that all of the five different dishes we ordered came out at the same time. I shared the Banana-Walnut Pancakes and the classic Benedict with my friend, so I mainly tried those. Banana-Walnut Pancakes: 8/10. I had high expectations for these pancakes, and they were delicious, but not as unique as I anticipated. The pancakes themselves were fluffy and well-made, but the toppings weren't super impressive. It was fresh banana, dried banana, whipped cream, and candied walnuts. It was came with a little container of maple syrup. In terms of unique pancakes, I've definitely had better ones, but these were still good. The Classic Benedict: 9/10. I love eggs benedict, and I tend to try and order unique variations of them because the original versions tend to all taste the same. However, this was delicious. The english muffin was the perfect texture, and the ham was very thick. The hollandaise sauce was well made. The only weakness was the poached eggs. One of the eggs didn't even have a egg yolk, and the other one only had a little bit. Really weird. But overall, a great classic eggs benedict. Two of my other friends ordered the "Meat" the Benedict and Veggie Benny. I didn't try them, but they both enjoyed them. My last friend ordered the plain waffles with an addition of berries, and they asked if he wanted one or two. He assumed it meant one or two waffles on the plate, but it ended up being two full plates of waffles. I think each one was $10, which is a decent deal. He definitely finished both plates quickly, so I'm pretty sure he liked them too. The interior and vibes of this place were both adorable. There were a lot of cute paintings and other decorations. The waitress was super nice and the service was efficient. Overall, if you're looking for a brunch place in Napa (and aren't pressed for time) I would recommend Sunshine Cafe. read more

What a great find! We had a one night stay in Napa on our way home from 10 days of traveling and wanted a nice breakfast with mimosas to close out our travels. This little gem is in a strip mall close to our hotel. First the atmosphere is positive and fun. Great pictures, fun sayings and funky decor. Even a superhero bathroom theme. Second the service a friendly and very good. Third, the food ticked all the boxes! Fresh, well prepared, good variety on the menu. Simply put, awesome! Five stars really isn't enough. I don't know where to begin? I'm not a morning breakfast kinda guy. What can I say, I like to eat breakfast in the evenings! None the less, I found this little gem a few miles from my hotel. And they did not let me down. Immediately upon entering the café, I was warmly greeted by a young man. I stated, seating for one please and he politely asked would I like to sit at a table or the dining counter? I chose to be seated at a two chair table. He asked if I'd like to start off with anything to drink, and I ordered coffee and orange juice to start. Within a a few short minutes my server, arrived and took my order of chicken and waffles amd a side of scrambled eggs. What I'd like to point out early I'd I forgot to request is that my eggs be cooked soft, slightly wet. Well as I waited for my food to arrive, I took in the interior setting. The cafés decor is of a relaxed beach vibe, which I liked a lot. Upon arrival of my order, I was expecting my eggs to be cook well done, done...instead they were cooked as if I made them myself. They were warm, light,and fluffy and not a scorch on them. The chicken and Waffles were very flavorful. The chicken wasn't bone in, which is ok. But it had a hint of herb and spice which made it unique/different from what I am used to. Not a bad thing at all by the way. I like to experience food... no matter where I am. The waffles were light, and had good texture and served with whipped butter and syrup. I didnt speak on this earlier, but the coffee was bold and flavorful, which is how I like my coffee. I don't like writing bad reviews, but this is a part of what Yelp is. My wife and I had breakfast here a few days ago. My wife's scrambled eggs and crispy bacon was good. I ordered smoked salmon Benedict. Looked good. Potatoes were good. Took first bite and hollandaise and poached egg were cold. I tried to find something good on the plates. Both poached eggs were very cold and no runny yoke. Sauce was cold. Our waitress was really good. She understood and I ordered sausage and eggs. I couldn't eat the meal, just turned off. Folks around were enjoying their food. I did not. I'm going to the deli next door like we have for years. I give 2 stars because or our server. She was cool and understanding. read more

I would give Sunshine Cafe more than five stars if I could. This is one of my favorite breakfast places in the Napa Valley. It's a charming little diner with plenty of personality and great food to back it up. We showed up for breakfast on a Saturday morning, and of course, there was a bit of a wait to get a table. I gave my name and number to the hostess, who said she'd call me when a table was ready. She said it would likely take about 15 minutes, so I we went back to our car to wait. I got a call within five minutes we were seated immediately at the counter. Counter seating is great real estate, where they literally never let our coffee cups go empty without offering refills. My husband and I each ordered a corn beef hash and decided to share an order of the biscuits and gravy. Man, oh man. The biscuits and gravy were so delicious and filling that I realized I would've been satisfied with just that. I also loved my corn beef hash, especially mixing in the biscuit gravy with the corned beef. Yum! I appreciated the quality of the corned beef. We got choice tender cuts of brisket, as opposed to a lower quality ground version. Next time, I'd like to try one of the adult boozy milkshakes. read more

Delicious, delicious, delicious!!!! We returned to Napa after 30 years and Napa has changed for the better. We went to a jazz concert and stopped at the Sunshine Cafe the next morning for breakfast. Their biscuits are the best I've ever tasted: crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The jam is homemade and out of this world. We asked for a separate bowl of gravy to dip some of the biscuits in. Gravy is savory and full of bacon. Country potatoes are also yummy with some gravy on top. I had the waffles and fried chicken and my husband had eggs and bacon with country potatoes. We could not stop eating. It's a good thing we brought a cooler because I took home half of my chicken and waffles and put them in the air fryer to eat the next day. Service is excellent. Latte is double the size you would get at any other restaurant and so good. Atmosphere is soothing and decorated so nicely. The next time I'm there, I'm going to order a dozen biscuits to take home. Service has gone down hill . Not sure if it was mid afternoon but kinda of felt like an after thought . Good dripped off with no real interest I'd I liked it . Actually the grilled chicken was more like boiled . Never had a chance to send it back . Can someone please teach the staff how to make a bloody many . I got one that was only average (barely even mixed and kind of watery ). The second one was ever more watered down . No olive tooth pick . Lemon or anything else to season . My family and I had breakfast there this morning. We were a party of five adults and two infants both under 1. While the food was good the service specially at end when we were being charged was far from acceptable. First of all, the waiter came over with the mobile checkout terminal and only stated the grand total. He did not bring out an itemized print of what had been order and assumed we'd just pay what he was indicating. Upon the request of an itemized receipt he brought it back and ONLY then was it indicated to us that gratuity(20%) had already been added to the total. Once reviewed we noticed that we had been charged double for two items, which the waiter removed. However, I'm not sure why we were charged gratuity beforehand if in their menus it states "parties of 6 or more" gratuity will be added. On top of that, had I not asked for an itemized receipt the tip amount would have been doubled(20% added without disclosing at first and 20% or more on the tip we would have added to the grand total). Things to note: be transparent with your clients and don't make your clients feel taken advantage of. Finally, if you are looking to just drink a regular don't go there. They charge $5.50 for a mug of coffee. We order 5 regular coffees and walked out of there paying $27.00 dollars on just black coffee. read more

The eggs were perfectly scrambled, toast came buttered & nicely toasted. Bacon was crisp and a great serving size. I believe there were 3-4 slices. The truffle potatoes were just ok since I couldn't really taste the truffle, but the potatoes were nice & crispy. You also can upgrade to their homemade biscuits instead of their Levain bread toast. Visited Sunshine Cafe in a whim looking for a place for brunch and it did not disappoint. It's very cozy and you wouldn't expect how spacious the inside is just from the outside. We were a party of 2 and seated right away on a Saturday morning just before 11AM. The menu has your typical breakfast offerings, like pancakes, omelettes, and the likes, as well as some lunch options. We opted for the breakfast options and they did not disappoint. I ordered the sunshine scramble and I really enjoyed how fresh the avocados and tomatoes were! Took myself to sunshine cafe for my birthday. The hostess was also my server. She was so sweet and took care of me and my 10 month old baby. I ordered the eggs and pancakes to share with my baby. Busy little place in a small shopping area however a lots of parking. They have seat outside as well but its just table nothing fancy, I prefer inside it's nicer. Food is very well prepare however the platting arrangement for the avocado toast need to be changed, they have green salad with it and instead of arranging the salad on the side of the plate the salad covered the toast and there quit a lots of green so you have to work your way out to either move the salad on a different plate or find a space on the plate to move it, I saw other people on other table had the same issue with the same dish. I love the fact that they are easy to substitute the menu. I love my strawberry waffle, it was very light and moist however needed more sirup since there are no sirup bottle on the table I had to have part of my waffle a bit dry. All the food we had were well prepared and cared for. My bloody Mary didn't seems have much alcohol though, I thought maybe they gave me virgin bloody Mary. The service here is very solid, fast and accurate, our Server Alicia was very nice and attentive and seems very happy as well its looks like she enjoy her job.
