Food is hearty and fast, wait staff is attentive and friendly, I suggest bringing cash since their cc machine is almost always down. Coffee is decent, prices are a little steep for a corner diner but the area is getting expensive so that's the way of the world I guess. I suggest if you're in the area give it a try, it has a nice neighborhood feel and there's rarely any wait to sit, food comes within 10-15 minutes tops. read more

Not sure how their food is since it never showed up. We ordered from Grub Hub and waited an hour and a half. I called to see if the order left yet and the guy said, "yes, the delivery guy left quite some time ago." I said no problem and figured he should be here soon. Another 30 minutes went by so I called again to see if the man at the restaurant could call the delivery guy to see where he is. The man on the phone says that the order was delivered and signed for. I tried to explain to him that we were sitting in our living room for over 2 hours waiting for our food and nobody came. Obviously they must have delivered to the wrong apartment of somebody signed for it. I asked nicely for a refund and he refused stating that "it's not his fault that the food didn't show up." What!? He said he won't give me a refund so I have to call Grub Hub. I called Grub Hub and they were super nice. Asked me a few questions then put on hold because it is part of their refund process to call the restaurant to get their side of the story as well, which I understandable. The guy from Grub Hub got back on the line and said they were going to give me a full refund. Out of curiosity I asked what the restaurant said. The guy from Grub Hub said that he tried to call a few times, but they just didn't answer the phone haha. Not surprising. read more

Love this diner -- the Spanikopita is copious and delicious, coming with a large Greek Salad. The onion rings are (usually) really tasty and fresh, and the blue smoothie is tasty. I just came back from a big brunch -- pancakes, eggs, and bacon -- that cost less than a cocktail at some places. The Latino waiter who's been there a couple years is a really great, attentive professional. He saw me looking at the milk for my coffee and without asking brought over a new one. First of all let me begin with saying that if your going to order from Uber or another company that's not their own delivery man or their own number don't even bother. They only give priority to orders they deliver themselves. Second the food is trash after you wait more than an hour to get your food for it to taste old and flavorless is a huge disappointment. This diner is a great! (As far as diner's go). You can get a 2-egg breakfast for $3.50. The last diner i went to in this area was 3 Decker and it was disgusting and there was shell in all three omelets and I thought I was going to throw-up. BUT NOT AT SUNSET!! These people are all apart of some scam. Left my phone here, had evidence it was inside the restaurant because it was tracked. When we went there, it was gone. I very nearly live upstairs from here, so I end up at Sunset a lot. People don't like the service here? In my experience, they're very friendly and always were -- the day I moved in, they asked me who I was, told me random neighborhood stories... I see the waiters on the subway all the time and we chat. Sunset is basically cheap and sort of tasty. The food is hit-or-miss; never gross, but not always very good. Basically, there's nothing here you couldn't make at home (the french fries, in particular, appear to be Ore-Ida Crispers), but it's all inexpensive, and it's a nice place to hang out. They don't rush you and they have milkshakes. And they close at 9 or 10, which is annoying -- if they stayed open late, I'd be in all night. read more

Good food, fast friendly service, easygoing atmosphere, they take credit cards but also have an ATM, you can even find a parking space close by. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. It's the closest diner to me, but the food is inconsistent every time I've gone. Last time I was there, I ordered the California Benedict. When my food came, there was one perfectly poached egg on the left and then piece of chewed-up hard boiled egg yolk on the right that looked like they tried to cover it up under the sauce. I also got an avocado stem on my avocado slice. I let the server know about the egg and she promptly and politely took the plate back and they corrected the problem. My food came back quickly enough and the rest of the meal was good. That was a good food experience for this place. I've stopped ordering the omelettes or scrambled eggs because they always come out dry for me. Or the servers forget us for far too long. Or I'm not able pay because the front staff is talking amongst themselves while I'm waiting at the register. But I also keep coming back. Masochist. read more

Ordered there once on seamless, took a really long time and the food was luke warm, tasted not so good and we were starving so it had to do although we ended up throwing out half of it. zucchini sticks- bad choice, fried chicken was burnt and just... bad- I didn't know it was possible to so badly screw up something that is fried. I order from here regularly. They are not bad. The delivery is fast and food is decent. Until today I ordered a fruit salad that apparently had went bad. As soon as I opened the container a rotten odor filled the air. I called to let them know to check the other fruit salads they had to make sure this didn't happen to anyone else. I was told to call yelp/ eats back to inquire about a refund. For something as small as a fruit salad. I would have tried to resolve this issue on my own and not send the customer running to the website. My office orders here several times a day. They could have tired to drop off a fresh salad or something. Just a poor management decision on an issue with an order. The skipped over my address and the fact we order there everyday all day. I placed an order on doordash. My order included a flavored coffee that specifically requested the coffee to be light and sweet. The store sent me a black coffee with no cream and no sugars. I was in Brooklyn for work and went with one of the local places that the staff uses for lunch. Sunset Diners burger is what every one raved about so I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious. Fries were a bit cold, but that's understandable since they are being delivered. We had to share a table with a couple. No big deal. But after sitting for a few minutes, I got up and went and grabbed menus. We looked through the menu, it is a typical diner. After being there for about ten minutes, my kids were getting restless. No one had approached us to greet us. No one had brought waters. Nothing. After another few minutes, we left. This place was alright. I went here for breakfast because it was walking distance from a friend's place that I crashed at. The place seemed clean, the prices were fair, the service was decent, and the food was kinda average. I got the pancakes with 2 eggs and bacon and then a side of home fries. it took a little while for the food to come out but it wasn't that bad of a wait, but when the food did come they forgot the home fries, but they were brought out within a few minutes. The pancakes had a good flavor but the texture was a little tough. they came 3 to an order but they were on the smaller side, they were only about 8" in diameter. the bacon was just alright, not super crisp but it was thicker than some places I've been to, and unfortunately some parts were still a little rubbery. The scrambled eggs were actually pretty good though, the texture was great and while the flavor was good, the addition of hot sauce made them a lot better. the home fries were alright, they could have been seasoned a little better. They had little pieces of red bell pepper in them but I feel like they could have used some onion. the plate was sloppily put together too, the pancakes had the eggs and bacon right on top of them when there was plenty of room for them to be separated. it was an ok place but if I'm down there again I think I'd like to try somewhere else read more

Standard diner food. CHEAP. Not bad. When we went, the place was empty and our food came very quickly. The place is clean, bathrooms are clean, the servers were pretty nice. I'm not a super fan of diners, but this one really isn't so bad. The booths are a little strange because they are a little bit small and it forces you to sit extremely upright, which is fine but a little werid.
