I live about 20 minutes by foot from this diner and I would walk in rain or shine. Amazing attentive service, delicious food, decent pricing, and they're really making it work! Showed up this morning to a packed house and was sat in less than 20 minutes. They pulled some tables apart for us so that we could sit faster. I had a odd experience this morning at about 8:20 am. I walk in and the young female hostess tells me sit anywhere. There are about four other people sitting in the place. I decide to go to the last booth on the far side and sit down. There were other empty booths. An older Latina server walks up to me and ask me if I was expecting another person. I told her no. She then asked if I would sit at another table. Apparently the booths are for two diners or more. I get up and sit at one of the tables. She then proceeded to give me the menu in a less than friendly way and asked if I wanted something to drink. At that point, I did not like her vibe. I did tell her that the hostess told me to sit anywhere. I noted to her that the place was practically empty. She rudely said ok then sit where you want. She said she did not make the rules. I said it would have be nice to know them when I walked in. I have no problem with a policy if I know in advance. I then got up and left. I just couldn't handle this person serving me food or just eating there. They disrespected me in my opinion as a customer. There are plenty of other places to enjoy breakfast and spend my money. I have been going to this place every now and then for YEARS! I was just there that past Sunday with my family for a nice breakfast and dropped about $62 dollars. Huge breakfast selection. Ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a roll and a coffee. It was ready in a flash. One egg, lots of bacon and cheese. So hot. Keeping it simple for my first dining experience I ordered two eggs sunny side up with sausage which comes with home fries and toast. I asked for rye and got white bread, the sausage was under cooked which is a frightening sight anytime of day and the sight remains lingering in my mind. I did not mention anything to the server, as the location was rapidly filling up and I just did not desire to have a complaint come out of my mouth this early in the morning. I wished I took it to go because the place makes all your clothes smell like greasy fried foods lol I got the Reuben and substituted the corned beef for pastrami (no additional charge) and it was HUGE, it was also impossible close the two halves so i had to resort to eating with a fork and knife. This is your standard diner. The food was slightly better than a few dinner spots I've been to of recent past. I went with the pancakes and they weren't overly thick and filling like many places who just prep a bunch of batter without regard to how well it will cook up later. They weren't particularly fluffy either but they were right in the middle to satisfy, for lack of a better word, all preferences. The eggs scrambled with cheese still means scrambled eggs with a slice of cheese thrown on top at the end which kind of mostly melts (sigh, I miss the South). Don't waste your time with the home fries or were they called hash browns-probably hash browns because that name would make me order them hoping they wouldn't come out like typical boring dry unsalted (I probably should've used a comma or transition there but idc) home fries. This place has gone down hill. They don't even listen to requests. I always order the same thing. I have for three years now. 3 egg omelette with bacon, avocado, and pepper jack. I pay $1.50 for the cheese, $1.50 for the extra egg and $2.25 for 1/4 of an avocado. Today was the final straw. I asked that my omelette not be browned. I receive my delivery order. Not only is it over cooked but the avocado is brown with skin left on it and they didn't add the third egg. I call the restaurant they say they will remake it after they told me to get a refund through the delivery app I used. So two hours after my initial order my replace meant comes. Eggs are cooked nicely. The avocado is now black. If I just complained about the avocado why are you sending me worse than before. Not to mention charging me $2.25 for a sliver. At this point I picked out all the avocado and ate the remainder of the omelette because well two hours later you'd be hungry too. From the first bite of my Italian omelette I knew I would become a regular. It was cooked to perfection and the home fries were to DIE for! I loved how they gave an option of having regular fries on the side of an omelette too! The coffee was consistently hot, flowing, and delicious. My boyfriend got the Banana, Strawberry, Nutella Waffle and it was fantastic until the last bite with the perfect amount of toppings.
