After ordering tonight for delivery I really felt the need to write a 5 star review. I'm currently batting a 101 fever and I have my almost 2 year old and 4.5 year old. I called Glendale Diner 1. because I wanted soup and 2. I wanted dinner for my girls. As I was on the phone ordering, my almost two year old was screaming. She was going nuts. The woman on the phone taking the order was sooooooo sweet. She was so kind and patient. She took my credit card number and didn't get bothered by any of the background noise. I really loved and appreciated that. When the delivery person came, I asked him to meet me at the back door. He came to the back door smiling as I held my baby (and as I was burning up with a fever) and was also so very kind. The food came very hot. Like piping hot. It was delicious. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone and how pleased I was with everything tonight. You all made my sick, staying in night, a little bit easier. Thank you all for your wonderful customer service and an amazing meal. FYI - I ordered chicken fingers and fries for the girls, chicken finger wrap (a staple), and chicken rice soup. I have been here multiple times throughout many years and this is a solid place to grab a bite. The menu is varied and has many choices and breakfast all day. It's a diner and not a 4 star Michelin restaurant, so check your expectations. Their coleslaw is excellent. Pickles too.I do love that they have freshly brewed unsweetened iced tea. On our most recent visit, we ordered an omelette with fries and an open faced brisket sandwich with salad, potato, and veggie included. All was so good!! Service was great and we enjoyed our meal. I grew up in Glendale, and grew up going to this diner as a kid, a teenager and young adult. Before that my parents would go when it was Bob's Diner back in the day.. So maybe it has some reminiscent quality for me. I moved out of NY 21 years ago and I ALWAYS make plans to stop in for a bite to eat every time I come back to Glendale, usually once a year. The vanilla shake never disappoints and I always get it. the chicken parm wrap has been my favorite for a long time now... I remember when they first started serving the wraps they gave you a small salad on the plate with the wrap and fries- i do miss that because that's not included anymore.. I had high hopes because there were plenty of recent good reviews and the diner itself was cute and old-school. But the waitress seemed to wish we're weren't there. Barely acknowledged us or said a word when we ordered... I guess we don't require a response. At one point, someone slammed a stack of menus behind my head (must be where they keep the extras). She brought the food quickly and ran off immediately, but luckily we were right by the sauces so it's wasn't difficult to get hot sauce. The food Itself was just okay. It wasn't bad... but it was by no means great. It reminded me of the food you would find at diners in the middle of nowhere straight off of the highway. I honestly would've rather had cafeteria breakfast. The iced coffee was not cold and my ice melted pretty quickly. The price was a bit steep for what you get. The waitress was finally nice when she set down the check. She seemed enthusiastic to be giving it to us actually. Other than that, the bathrooms are tiny and I'm pretty sure that's not soap in the bottle because it slid right off of my hands. This is a place I can always count on for Sunday breakfast because there's literally no wait time. As soon as you walk in you're seated which is great. The servers are all pretty nice, they provide you with water and the menu quickly. The Menu is extensive which is great, they have a variety of foods. Some of the things on the menu are a bit expensive for what they are though which is my only complaint. The food literally comes to your table 15 mins after you ordered so they don't leave you starvingly waiting lol read more

I ordered delivery from here on a day when it was absolutely pouring. I was shocked to see how quickly the food came (way before the estimated time!) in such weather which seems to be a rarity. I ordered the egg and bacon on a roll sandwich and a coffee, both of which stayed warm on the way, even on the cold and rainy day. The roll was great, as were the contents. I've literally have been coming here since I was about 3 years old... we have a picture of me in one of the booths eating French fries and an old school cell phone that looked larger than a box. Ok so now that you know that I'm old... lol this place is awesome. I frequent here because the food is delicious. Almost 30 years coming here and I still love it. Tbe shakes are freaking amazing. I ordered delivery through Seamless. After conforming the order, the note said delivery would be between 12:30-12:40. Well, at 12:27, my doorbell rang. Early delivery is always a good thing. To my surprise, everything I ordered was still hot. EVERYTHING. I had a cheese omelette with sweet potato fries, a buttered roll, and mozzarella sticks. It is possible to get food delivered and have it still be nice and hot. Kudos to whoever packed it. As well as still being hot, the food was very good. Terrible... I rarely write a review but this place deserves 2.5 stars or less. Me: Turkey burger, cheddar cheese sweet potato fries... Dry turkey and the cheddar cheese was not and I repeat was not melted... Litterally picked them up one shred at a time and thought it was a joke... I mushed it off the cold burger. Fries were ok My niece had the kids spaghetti in sauce. Cold... We asked to send it to be heated... Server did and she said it wasn't any good. 3 bites ... Only good thing was the ice cream from the meal. My wife wouldnt allow me to complain as she is the shy type but I honestly wanted the owner to eat this cold nasty mushed food with a family of 4 and keep a straight face as I did. Most of my food was messed up, kitchen probably just doesn't care enough! Out server was very sweet about it and apologized profusely. Fettuccine Alfredo came with spaghetti noodles. Ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers... one came with two bottom buns and the other two top buns. There was a special on the board for pot roast with potato pancakes. After my friend ordered it 10 minutes past and then we are told no more potato pancakes. Everyone else's food came out while she sat waiting for a new meal to come out. Ended up with the turkey dinner with red cabbage (gross) and stuffing. Fries were good, cheeseburgers okay. It's a diner what do you expect. Then again, can we not expect decent food at diners ? Yes the breakfast is good but how can you mess up pancakes and eggs. Pretty run down place, kinda dirty and dingey. Glendale Diner is the old school tri-state diner that you visit in your dreams. With quarter jukebox machines at every table, and a waitress that's probably been in the business for years, dining here makes me feel like I'm in the cast of Goodfellas (that's a compliment). The diner has your standard counter and booth seating. We sat down and thumbed through the laminated menus. Standard diner fare: breakfast foods, burgers, wraps, seafood, dinner, etc. Prices are typical, though I was expecting it to be a bit cheaper since we were in Glendale. I got the corned beef hash breakfast, and Rus got mozz sticks and the New York burger. We were quickly served our coffee and coleslaw and a delicious crunchy pickle. Water came out soon thereafter, as did the mozz sticks. These things were obviously frozen, but still pretty good. The New York burger was really impressive, with what looked like at least six strips of bacon on it. If I had been in the mood for a burger, I probably would have stolen it from Rus' plate. The corned beef hash seemed to be of the canned variety, but it was cooked just right, left to brown on the stovetop, served up with home fries, sunny-side up eggs and toast. A very big meal for less than $8. The diner was pretty empty on a mid-Saturday afternoon, so the staff kept offering coffee and water refills long after we had finished enjoying our meal. Definitely no rush to leave, which I always appreciate. I was also pretty impressed that they're open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays, unlike any other establishment in this area. So if you're looking for some decent late night diner eats, Glendale Diner seems to be your best bet! read more

I only had coffee and fruit. The coffee was pretty good and the fruit was pretty nasty. I came here late with a friend and did not see anything special on the menu. He had tea and when he asked for another bag the lady questioned him like it was absurd, it was weird. Update Nov 2017 I have to update my review based on my recent experience. The food is still great. Fresh ingredients and good flavor. The atmosphere is much better than before. No profane language, No drama Queens, No hate speech. I can take my family there and not worry about that. Keep up the good work! Poor management gets no stars. Good food gets 4 stars. They allow diners to rant loudly using hate speech and profane language against non whites. Their servers spend too much time complaining or talking loudly about their life. (Hello?!... I love the hues of pink and the old school aesthetic and the old school service, our server was amazing and I am glad we came here despite the negative reviews! The person who greets you is a little stern faced but nonetheless she seems nice. We got classic Diner fare just in case it was bad, two people ordered egg dishes and the rest of us got sandwiches. The food takes a bit to come out but it's worth it everything came out hot and exactly as we ordered it which is a rare treat when in the midst of all my picky family. Burgers are solid and French fries extra tasty, the eggs came out with an abundance of potatoes and it was awesome. I ordered the beef goulash and my wife ordered half roasted chicken. The beef goulash had 4 small pieces of beef that were hard and dry. So I basically ate a dish of noodles. My wife's chicken was so dried out like it was cooked days ago. The quality of the food has gone way down. I ordered a bacon burger deluxe on an english muffin cooked medium about a month ago and got a very well done (hockey puck) burger ,missing the bacon and the English muffin wasn't toasted. I'm a girl whose a huge fan of diners. I don't know why really, I just have ever since I was young. It's just casual for me, I feel comfortable that no one is pushing me to get out so the diner could be empty. I like the fact that their food is consistent. I never get a burned or dry burger, the slaw always tasted good and the pickles are always plentiful. On this particular day, I went alone to eat because I needed a place to study that was not a coffee shop and not home/school. I just wanted a huge plate of potato delight or disco fries, ( depending where you are in the United States. ) and a Triple Decker BLT and no one bothering me. The waitress came over who could be my mother, (which is okay because I need to change Moms anyway). She was sweet and kind, she looked at my big ugly binder and asked if I was here to study, I nodded and she had me switch tables in the back where it was quieter. She brought me my order, and my requested coffee, and just asked me if it was okay to just fill up the water and coffee without questions. I smiled, nodded and went on chomping on my food while I scribbled away at the booth. The BLT sandwich had mayo and black pepper, which I liked a lot , because some places leave it dry. Honestly, either way is good, but a surprise condiment is always a treat to find. Right? Lol my fries were awesome ! No fry was burnt, it was good gravy (not leftover, and the cheese was still hot from being melted in the broiler/oven. I ate everything, drank everything, and paid my bill, left a nice tip and left well read and full. I was truly happy. This is a great, old-school diner. Nothing fancy, just really well prepared food at a very reasonable price. We've been coming here for years for Saturday breakfast, and they never disappoint. The decor is dated, but the place is clean, service is fast and efficient, and the eggs, omelets, pancakes, tunafish, BLTs, soup, etc. etc. are just the best diner food. The place may be one of the most depressing diners, besides that one pseudo-diner in Pyongyang, however, it is as essential to Glendale as it should be to your daily places to grab a bite to eat. Even for a diner, the tables and chairs could use some updating and while about half of the menus were just replaced, the other half are about as old as said tables and chairs. The menu is extensive like a diner menu should, and the food is great. I recommend the Chicken Fingers Wrap (defibrillator not included). Prices are decent and portions are pretty large. They are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. I even had the unfortunate chance of stopping in the wee hours of Christmas morning after getting off work around 3am. There are about 7 spaces in the parking lot, however, if you can't parallel park on a regular street, don't even bother trying to maneuver the lot. The jukeboxes might not work, and you may gain a few pounds after dining here, but it's one of the last few establishments Glendale has going for it. Street parking in front also. read more
