Eh. This is about a three minute walk from my house and I haven't been there in months. The food is just so-so. Definitely stick to the basics if you are eating there (sandwiches, burgers). Only gave them one star because the restaurant is fairly clean. They lost stars for everything else. Came in with my friends for a cup of coffee and desert. First of all the waitresses are rude. One of them gets too close for comfort, even pulling the menu out of my hand when I went to look at the deserts, thinking she's being "helpful" by telling me not to look on the menu but to listen to her suggestions. They have mini "jukeboxes" at each booth so I was trying to figure out how to use it when she reached over and grabbed my hand and yanked the coins out of my hand-- all in an effort, in her eyes, of HELPING me. The food is as good as a $1 steak. Some of the items on their menu may give you food poisoning that's what certainly happened to me and my wife after eating there. The ketchup on our table was putrid, I never seen ketchup go bad until I went there. The only positive experience we had was this waitress who was super nice to us and very helpful. I'm pretty sure she's the reason why this place is still in business, otherwise why would people pay for canned, frozen, sodium saturated, highly processed foods that give you food poisoning. This has always been one of my favorite Diners in Queens. Aside from the fact that it's one of the few classic old school NY diners left the food is always solid. Sort of looks like a slightly larger version of Court Square Diner's old interior. The food? A bit greasy, really. Diner food is diner food, but for diner food this is mediocre, but not bad. Your placemat comes with puzzles, though. I don't recommend trying the boothside jukeboxes. You may plug-in Frank Sinatra and get Evanescence (and static-y at that); there is no way to turn off the music until your song is done, and your volume switch may be broken. read more

After a strenuous evening of athleticism, I was starving. It was 1AM. Nothing was open, and all I wanted was an omelet. This diner hit the spot. The waitress was friendly, and the omelet was more like scrambled eggs with spinach and feta. Fluffy, salty, deliciousness. The homefries were cooked perfectly, just a little greasy with peppers and onions. I didn't have any coffee, which can be a deciding factor. The food was good, but it wasn't the best part. This diner is an oasis unto itself of New York circa 1996. The retro-y uniforms, the beat up booths, the semi-clean bathroom - all relics of another time. The jukebox, while filled with Kei$ha, is also a relic of another time. The senior citizen, asleep facedown in a booth, unmolested by employees, also a relic of another time. Topics of conversation include: getting shot, tornadoes and getting hit by a fish in Brooklyn, where it's really bad to get shot, living in Queens, and what to eat at the diner. Eric and I came here for a very late dinner and it was a nice old school diner. I had a meatloaf sandwich which was quite good...I do prefer it when meatloaf has the sweet ketchupy glaze on top but this was nicely spiced and had a good kick of garlic. Eric got a souvlaki platter that was huge and delicious. It came with fries, salad, pita and tzatziki. To be honest, we probably could have shared it and both been full. Very upsetting this time around. My family and I always come here it's our community diner. I went in with my mom this afternoon and this one particular employee was not following any rules. She sat us down, she had short blonde hair. Then she sat in the booth behind us took her mask off and started to cough in her hands. She continued to cough several times, without putting Any hand sanitizer on. She touched everything in sight, continued to take temperatures, sit people down and give out menus. As she walked back and forth she would continue to hang her mask down from one ear and talk to everyone. She continued to touch her face and hair, as well as cough with no mask on. She tended to several people like everything was okay. I became disgusted after a while and told my mom to hurry up so we can leave. There were several people around, kept walking back and forth and talking very loud. We could not enjoy ourselves or even hear each other talk. We were very disappointed. read more

Food is fresh and made to order. From the moment you open the door your taste buds are going crazy cause now your confused and want to devour everything. Burgers are great. But the final straw for me when when I was enjoying my French onion soup, and at the bottom A BUG!! I've been going to the Glendale Diner for quite sometime, mainly for breakfast. Usually the service is ok. Last night was different. The worst ever! My girlfriend and I went to go eat there last night and I ordered a BCB and she ordered a hot open turkey dinner, with a house salad. So the waitress brings the salad and my gf starts eating it and to her horror she asked me, "is that a roach in my salad? I look and sure enough a good sized roach was dead inside the salad. DISGUSTING!!!! Then I directly call the manager over and he has the nerve to call a different waitress to send my way. Anyway if there's one there's a lot more. Came here for lunch and I have to say I was very disappointed. Upon arrival I wasn't even greeted just motioned to sit in a corner. The server never even said 2 words to us. She didn't even smile or tell us her name . As I sat and I waited for my food I couldn't help but notice other Hispanic patrons receiving the same treatment. At no point did she ask if we needed a refill or anything else. When it was time for the check she simply asked "You Good?" A group of 4 walk in on an early Saturday morning, precisely 2:07am. We find out immediately the avocados are in season, the fries are loaded, and the baker just dropped off fresh paninis for a turkey BLT with the in season, perfectly salted California Mexican avocado. Our waitress instantly insists that our table is too small, and we are moved to a table no bigger than the one we were initially at. My grilled cheese with bacon was perfectly buttered and high in sodium, leaving me utterly satisfied. My best friend's panini was fresh California Mexico. The chocolate milkshake was equivalent to Nesquik, but amazing. Ultimately we had a pleasant experience with our order taken with the utmost profanity and a perfect smile.
