There was plenty of seating even though they seemed busy (families, friend groups, and couples), and the air conditioning was working, which was nice. The restroom, located downstairs, was clean. The waiter was informative, quick, and polite. Our food was delicious! My son had the eggs and bacon with potatoes and toast and their fresh squeezed OJ. My husband had the steak and eggs with a decaf latte. His steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. I enjoyed the chicken and waffle eggs Benedict, and I cleaned my plate. Me and my wife were in the area later in the evening, and wanted to grab a bite. Ltauha looked like a solid option. The good: The food was overall pretty solid. I'm usually more of a smash burger kind of guy, but the steakhouse style burger was quite flavorful. My only complaint about the burger is that it had no sauce or condiments at all on it. The bacon mac and cheese was also quite nice. The bad: It was pretty overheated in the restaurant, and really humid. The only thing in the restaurant to help with the heat was one big fan at the back. My family came into the restaurant to enjoy dinner and to celebrate the holidays together. I ordered the caesar salad and the steam with creamed spinach and potatoes. The food was really good. I noticed that our food came relatively quickly and our servers were professional and kind. My steak was juicy and pink, just the way I like it, the potatoes were seasoned really well and they weren't over or undercooked and the caesar salad had the perfect dressing to salad ratio. I would say that I was a little thrown off by the confusing and out of place the playlist seemed to be considering the vibe of the restaurant and the kind of food being served. Ltauha is a true hidden gem, nestled on Myrtle Ave in Ridgewood. Though it doesn't boast flashy signage or a bustling facade, this place is a neighborhood secret, a go-to spot for locals and those in the KNOW! I've dined here a total of 3 times throughout the years. It's always a lovely experience. The food is always delicious and well presented and the service is always warm and friendly. My daughter started off with their buffalo wings the last time we dined here. I ended up trying one and OMG it was sooo good! Making buffalo wings is definitely a craft!! Well, 8 years after my brief take on this restaurant, I have way more to say after my recent visit. First of all, how many restaurants serving high quality cuisine still has a menu full of entrees mostly in the low $20s. The steak was the only item that was barely over $30. Unbelievably value for how good everything was tasted. Here is what we had. Island Creek ME oysters (9/10) - Perfectly shucked and refreshing. Meaty, not too briny, with a hint of sweetness. So good. We had to order a second dozen after really enjoying the first batch. Fried Crispy Artichoke Salad (8/10) - This was such a wonderful plate of greens with a light vinaigrette, plenty of Parmesan cheese, and accented with pieces of crispy artichoke. St. Louis BBQ Ribs (7/10) - Fall off the bone and quite tasty. Sauce was tangy and sweet. I wouldn't mind a whole rack of ribs if I was in the mood. Duck Ragu (9/10) - OMG! Clearly the dish of the night for many of us. What a delightful dish that blows away most pasta courses in even fine Italian restaurants. Extremely flavorful with perfectly cooked cavatelli. PEI Mussels w/ Sambal Cream Sauce (7/10) - Decent sized and mostly plump mussels. Sauce had depth of flavor that had a small kick, though a bit salty. Went extremely well with the well toasted bread though. Pork Chop w/ Pork Au Jus (8/10) - I requested for medium, but the chef didn't want to serve undercooked pork and delivered it medium well. Regardless, it was great with such a refined sauce. Shrimp Pappardelle Pasta (8/10) - Mom's favorite item of the evening. Perfectly al dente wide ribbons of noodles in a light shrimp flavored sauce. Yum! Chicken Piccata (8/10) - Simple, yet well done. The breast meat was moist and the sauce added such a delectable touch to the dish. Mascarpone Cheesecake (7/10) - Creamy cheesecake with a tart raspberry sauce that was complimentary from the restaurant when our server overheard there was a birthday at the table. Chocolate Soufflé (8/10) - I wouldn't necessarily call it a soufflé, more like a chocolate lava cake. Regardless, it was delicious paired with some pistachio ice cream. Lastly, I have to talk about the exceptional service provided by our main server Ramon and the sweet lady server who also helped out. They were extremely attentive without being overbearing. Swapped out our plates/utensils and brought new napkins constantly. Ramon brought us free dessert as I mentioned earlier and even held the door for us as we left the restaurant. Wonderful people who I will support going forward. I plan to revisit in the next couple of weeks and bring more friends. Update: Went a week later for brunch. If they have the Fried Cod Sandwich as a special, then you should definitely order that. It was a super thick cut of fish that was crispy and tender. Almost everything else on the regular menu was solid. House Burger was had an awesome smoky char on the crust, but I wish the meat was crumblier. First time coming here it was open at 11am Sunday for brunch. Our waiter told us about the specials and happy hour has started and margaritas was $8. How can I pass up on margaritas. I had a frozen margarita and my friend had the on rocks passion fruit. We both agreed the strings were strong. I had the pancakes which were fluffy crispy edges and tasty. The other plate home fries well seasoned with a lil heat. The bacon was thickkkkk but also delicious. Scrambled eggs were good too. I was searching for a really awesome pre-dinner Happy Hour cocktail and oysters and landed at Ltauha. Upon entering the dimly-lit establishment, I was warmly greeted by the bartender. The ambiance is quite romantic. This place is perfect for date night. My server was kind and efficient. I prefer my oysters to be grilled, so I opted for the Brussel Sprouts instead and the Spicy Pineapple Margherita. Both were absolutely delicious. The brussel sprouts were roasted to perfection, the bacon added a wonderful smokiness, and the parmesan added a creaminess that was unexpected but welcomed. They have spacious booths, as well as bigger tables with backless benches for groups of 6 or more. To eat, I had the avocado toast. It was topped with a choice of eggs. I went with scrambled. It was tasty and filling. The accompanying potatoes were well-seasoned but they didn't taste fresh. They were a bit rubbery, as if they'd been made a day or two ago and warmed up. This is a quintessential hole-in-the-wall restaurant that felt very much like home. We ate brunch on New Year's Day on the way to JFK, and it was worth it. I got the brioche French toast with crispy thick bacon and my husband got the avocado toast. I was surprised at how good his was and wanted to trade half of mine for his. This place is truly wonderful! I've been here on a few occasions and for both brunch and dinner. They have a mix of Latin and American foods. Everything I've had there has been delicious! Most recently I enjoyed their chilaquiles and fresh guacamole. Both were excellent. I love how they have the freshly fried tortilla chips (these are not out of a bag!) I love this place on the weekends, I went with my Father for brunch for his birthday & Its probably my 5th time in this location. I love that every time we come in there's no wait, they sit you right away and they're pleasant and professional !!! The location is always clean and the tables are spacious. The only bad part was that the seats were a bit uncomfortable and rigid. I would go back to try the other items on the menu. I tried the avocado toast which included two styles of eggs any style, home-style potatoes with sourdough bread. It was really good. I asked for over medium eggs so not sure if that was what was given to me. (I've never had it like that before and just wanted to see what the difference was between that and over-easy). The home style potatoes were wedges cut up and had their own twang (seasoning and herbs) to it. Also ordered the mac & cheese with a slab of bacon, tomatoes and herbs. The mac & cheese was really great, anything with bacon's yummy (tbh). The service was impeccable. We never had to ask for waters because it kept getting refilled. They were super nice about everything. They changed the place setting after the first dish and when I asked for hot sauce they brought out two kinds. Made my way to Ltauha for a celebration brunch today. Been looking forward to having brunch here for a while! I've been here several times before so I know how great the food and service is. We arrived at around 12:15 and were seated immediately. Our server was very respectful and attentive. I decided to stick with what I like, so I ordered the pancakes and a side of home-style potatoes. Omg the pancakes.... They're so good! My sister had a bit and correctly compared them to doughnuts. They're so light, airy, and oh so delicious! Their syrup is sweet and has a lovely vanilla flavor. Yum! They're so so good, get them! The potatoes are delicious too! And you get a ton of potatoes. I'd say at least two large potatoes worth. They're wonderfully seasoned and not too greasy. Came on a Sunday afternoon with a large group after church. It's not a hinge space but seats maybe 50 customers at a time give or take. We were seated fairly quickly but it took a little while for the server to come and I initially check in with us. They were quite busy and it seemed like there were only two or so servers. The menu was pretty basic you had your your burgers , pancakes, chicken fingers and sandwich etc. It by oil a while for the food which I don't entirely mind because that to me says it's made fresh to order not overly pre prepped. I had the BLT with turkey bacon and onion rings. The BLT was good excluding there was barely any bacon on it and for 17 bucks I want more then 3 slices of bacon. The onion rings were big , fresh , lightly battered but crispy and a real onion in there ! The chicken fingers and more like chickens breast chunks which I don't mind but it's the same okay as the kids meal but cost more get the kids meal. The worst experience we ever had. I certainly will never return to the place. We came for late lunch to Ltauha and the waiter described the specials. Steak with fries. My companion decided to order that. The food and the experience was OK (the service was OK). The place was empty, except for a couple of tables in the back. When the food arrived, the steak was horrible; it was low quality meat, mostly fat, and not cooked as requested. My friend mentioned the fat, the overcooked steak, and the bad quality of the meat; he called it a "diner steak," but we wanted to be supportive of the place, so we did not say anything. So imagine our surprise when we got the bill and saw that they charged us $75.00 for an inferior peace of meat. We paid, of course, however before leaving we did tell the waiter we were not satisfied and explained why. He said he understood but there was nothing he could do. We said we were not asking for anything, just wanted to let them know how we felt and what we thought of the meal and suggested let people know the price before ordering. He said he was not allowed to do so. He said he would talk to the manager when he got back. This was the worst experience not only because of the price, but also because of the attitude, and the "gotcha" approach to sell food you want to get rid of. We felt taken advantaged of. Oh man, I'd been wanting to eat here for so long, like years, but for some odd reason, I never did. It's Valentine's Day, the restaurant we were gonna get takeout from suddenly didn't sound good anymore, and I decided all I wanted was some good fries. Despite the fact that Ltauha was likely busy, especially since they had a holiday menu, they had my order ready in no time. I was skeptical of getting delivery because fries famously don't travel well, and I used DoorDash and the driver ended up making stops before coming to me. And yet to my surprise, despite the 30 minute drive that should have been 10 minutes, the food arrived warm and the fries were perfectly crispy. And it was the best damn burger I've ever eaten. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwich which was also great but he definitely wished he got a burger. We're indecisive Libras and we don't like to order the same thing when we get takeout because we like having variety but I think we'll have to make an exception when it comes to these burgers.
