Good spot. I took mine to go and had to reheat it so that might constitute to this three star. Overall, the food is good. Decent amount of Lamb euro on top but could be more. The fries are well seasoned. The tzatziki sauce is really delicious. The salad was good and I loved the Palmetto lettuce. It just didn't seem like otherworldly flavor or something. I've never tried. Quite the hidden gem! After a Pilates class and a long hot girl walk, I wanted something light and tasty. I stumbled upon Greek Kitchen and I'm so happy I did. I ordered the shrimp bowl which comes with rice, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a creamy dressing. It was filling but not heavy. On top of the delicious food, the service was great. The guy working the register was so kind and answered all of my questions. The restaurant dining area is very casual but it's clean and spacious if you don't want to take your food to go. Ate here today after work as a substitute paraprofessional at P.S. 234 Q. I had brought the beef and lamb gyro lunch special that comes fries and a can of soda that I chose Pepsi. For dessert I chose loukoumades (fried Greek honey balls). As an overall it tasted really good and delicious. Cute lil place! It's a fast casual place, which is a welcomed change for those moments you don't want McDonald's, but you don't have time for a sit down meal either. My knowledge of Greek food is low, a gyro is the height of my knowledge but I liked this place. I got the gyro and the fries. Both were very good. Portions are big, so you can absolutely indulge or maybe save some for a snack later :) The place inside is nice, I counted around 9 tables. Some tables are good for solo dining and some others have more chairs. The people at the counter were very nice. I'll be coming back. I noticed a lot of options on the menu that looked really good. Came in here looking for a reasonably-priced, meaty gyros sandwich and I was not in the least disappointed. Sandwich is loaded up with meat, onions, tomatoes, tzatziki, and french fries and tastes great. Would've loved just a tad more seasoning and the fries are a bit dry, but I can't complain given the portion size and overall great taste of this thing. Service was fast and as far as ambiance goes, the place was empty aside from my friend and I while we were in there and it's a bit unremarkable with white walls and white tables but it was a nice spot to sit down for a moment and have a chat over a tasty sandwich. We ordered food on opening day so I suppose take this with a grain of salt. The gyros were great and seasoned well. The lemon potatoes were not good at all. Wet and tasted like lemon pledge (artificial lemon taste). I love lemon potatoes so hopefully they change the recipe or it was an accident. We ordered a gyro, greek salad with chicken souvlaki and fries. We ordered it for pick up and picked it up as soon as it was ready within 15 mins which was quick. We had a quick walk home and when we opened our food everything was cold. Fries and gyro were cold and the chicken on the salad as well. The salad was mediocre at best, veggies weren't super fresh and the chicken was bland. The gyro was average. Fries were pretty good after we popped them in the oven. Dishes ordered thru Delivery: 1. Pastichio 2. Prasini Salad 3. 1 stick Pork Souvlaki 4. Eggplant dip 5. Spanakopita This was my first and will be my last time ordering from this new place. I love Greek food and am well familiar with it for many years through friends as well as eating at various Astoria Taverna's and groceries. I hate to leave bad reviews anywhere but this place leaves me no choice. I'll try to be brief. Pastichio was at best mediocre; a bit on the dry side made worse by getting a corner piece which made for an extra dried out crust on two sides. The Bechamel was thin and also on the dry side. The included salad had a few old way too soft Greek olives mixed in. By no means was it a large portion; just average. Note that this was one of the BEST of what I ordered. The Prasini was ok but needed more Dill. The souvlaki was overcooked and drier than any I have ever had. You'd do better ordering them from any of a number of Souvlaki trucks throughout Astoria. The eggplant dip was nothing more than roasted eggplant mashed up and served unseasoned. Tasted like they scooped out a roasted eggplant mashed it up and served it with no salt or dressing or anything. Terrible. To add insult to injury they included a bag STUFFED with too dry, grilled Pita wedges to go with the dip. I mean it was a half pound bag!! And the pita (tasteless dry) was nothing special. Nothing like trying to paint the illusion of giving you a lot for your money. Finally the Spanakopita was just ok but nothing special. That this was a delivery in no way is an excuse for what arrived. I tracked the order from beginning to end the driver arrived at the restaurant within 10 minutes of me placing the order. He quickly left and came directly to me about 10 minutes later. Would have been nice to have found a Greek place to regularly order from in the neighborhood, but this isn't it. I would have given this place 2 1/2 stars but am unable to so I gave it a 3 out of mercy and that the Pastichio and Prasini were edible at least. read more
