Came here for a quick lunch. They had a good lunch special for a drink and a gyro. The gyro came with a salad (or fries), and the salad was bigger than expected. I got the lamb gyro which was delicious. They also have a beer and wine special which we didn't take advantage of but seems like a great deal. The service was friendly and quick and overall, would recommend coming back for a quick bite / drink! read more

Good spot. I took mine to go and had to reheat it so that might constitute to this three star. Overall, the food is good. Decent amount of Lamb euro on top but could be more. The fries are well seasoned. The tzatziki sauce is really delicious. The salad was good and I loved the Palmetto lettuce. It just didn't seem like otherworldly flavor or something. I've never tried. Quite the hidden gem! After a Pilates class and a long hot girl walk, I wanted something light and tasty. I stumbled upon Greek Kitchen and I'm so happy I did. I ordered the shrimp bowl which comes with rice, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a creamy dressing. It was filling but not heavy. On top of the delicious food, the service was great. The guy working the register was so kind and answered all of my questions. The restaurant dining area is very casual but it's clean and spacious if you don't want to take your food to go. Lastly, the prices are really good especially for such nice portion sizes. read more

Ate here today after work as a substitute paraprofessional at P.S. 234 Q. I had brought the beef and lamb gyro lunch special that comes fries and a can of soda that I chose Pepsi. For dessert I chose loukoumades (fried Greek honey balls). As an overall it tasted really good and delicious. The service there was also attentive and friendly that I felt grateful for George for serving me quick and fast. I couldn't agree more about it. Cute lil place! It's a fast casual place, which is a welcomed change for those moments you don't want McDonald's, but you don't have time for a sit down meal either. My knowledge of Greek food is low, a gyro is the height of my knowledge but I liked this place. I got the gyro and the fries. Both were very good. Portions are big, so you can absolutely indulge or maybe save some for a snack later :) The place inside is nice, I counted around 9 tables. Some tables are good for solo dining and some others have more chairs. The people at the counter were very nice. I'll be coming back. I noticed a lot of options on the menu that looked really good. Came in here looking for a reasonably-priced, meaty gyros sandwich and I was not in the least disappointed. Sandwich is loaded up with meat, onions, tomatoes, tzatziki, and french fries and tastes great. Would've loved just a tad more seasoning and the fries are a bit dry, but I can't complain given the portion size and overall great taste of this thing. Service was fast and as far as ambiance goes, the place was empty aside from my friend and I while we were in there and it's a bit unremarkable with white walls and white tables but it was a nice spot to sit down for a moment and have a chat over a tasty sandwich. My husband and I have ordered from here at least 4 or 5 times in the past couple of months. I find the food to be very good. They also have a really good large beet salad. Their desserts , so far have been delicious The staff has been very friendly and once threw in a free dessert Their ambience is more like casual sit & eat or take out. I was excited about Greek Kitchen recently opening in the neighborhood - I just had dinner here, and the food was really great. I got the Lamb and beef gyro platter, which included Tzatziki, Greek fries and salad. Everything was seasoned well, and tasted fresh and delicious. i've gotten the chicken gyro with feta fries a few times i love them. The Chicken Souvlaki is nice and lean no fat at all. The baklava cheesecake is my favorite dessert. The place is bright and clean. I have tried it a few times and it was great tasting and staff was kind. I went to school in astoria so i have plenty of places to compare it to. read more

Tried Greek Kitchen for the first time. Im Greek and I was impressed! Super generous portions of chicken souvlaki pita, bifteki pita, fries and tirpoita. We ordered food on opening day so I suppose take this with a grain of salt. The gyros were great and seasoned well. The lemon potatoes were not good at all. Wet and tasted like lemon pledge (artificial lemon taste). I love lemon potatoes so hopefully they change the recipe or it was an accident. The person behind the counter provided attentive service; as my friend and I waited for our order I witnessed him bring each table their meal (something rare, and greatly appreciated). We ordered a gyro, greek salad with chicken souvlaki and fries. We ordered it for pick up and picked it up as soon as it was ready within 15 mins which was quick. We had a quick walk home and when we opened our food everything was cold. Fries and gyro were cold and the chicken on the salad as well. The salad was mediocre at best, veggies weren't super fresh and the chicken was bland. The gyro was average. Fries were pretty good after we popped them in the oven. Dishes ordered thru Delivery: 1. Pastichio 2. Prasini Salad 3. 1 stick Pork Souvlaki 4. Eggplant dip 5. Spanakopita This was my first and will be my last time ordering from this new place. I love Greek food and am well familiar with it for many years through friends as well as eating at various Astoria Taverna's and groceries. I hate to leave bad reviews anywhere but this place leaves me no choice. I'll try to be brief. Pastichio was at best mediocre; a bit on the dry side made worse by getting a corner piece which made for an extra dried out crust on two sides. The Bechamel was thin and also on the dry side. The included salad had a few old way too soft Greek olives mixed in. By no means was it a large portion; just average. Note that this was one of the BEST of what I ordered. The Prasini was ok but needed more Dill. The souvlaki was overcooked and drier than any I have ever had. You'd do better ordering them from any of a number of Souvlaki trucks throughout Astoria. The eggplant dip was nothing more than roasted eggplant mashed up and served unseasoned. Tasted like they scooped out a roasted eggplant mashed it up and served it with no salt or dressing or anything. Terrible. To add insult to injury they included a bag STUFFED with too dry, grilled Pita wedges to go with the dip. I mean it was a half pound bag!! And the pita (tasteless dry) was nothing special. Nothing like trying to paint the illusion of giving you a lot for your money. Finally the Spanakopita was just ok but nothing special. That this was a delivery in no way is an excuse for what arrived. I tracked the order from beginning to end the driver arrived at the restaurant within 10 minutes of me placing the order. He quickly left and came directly to me about 10 minutes later. Would have been nice to have found a Greek place to regularly order from in the neighborhood, but this isn't it. I would have given this place 2 1/2 stars but am unable to so I gave it a 3 out of mercy and that the Pastichio and Prasini were edible at least. read more

Bouquet is a small business that hasn't promoted much on Instagram or Eater, so it seems to have gone under the radar. I'm hoping I can do it justice as the first reviewer on this platform. We stumbled upon Bouquet during a mini bar crawl in Greenpoint. We initially planned to hit a few spots, but ended up settling in here for most of the night. We were mostly served by Eric who I believe was the owner operator. He's a NYC native who is super passionate about wine. The wine bar focuses on natural wines and other wines which emphasize minimal additives. The goal here seems to be to sell from producers who try to capture magic in a bottle. The wine list is three pages, so it's long but still approachable. There are about ten wines available by the glass. I started with a Montelpuciano. I sampled a bit and found it to be gassy and funky. The bartender was receptive to my feedback and made another recommendation - a different wine from the Loire Valley. The second option was more of what I was looking for. It was a more structured wine with a more traditional palate. I decided to eventually circle back to the Montelpuciano for my second glass. I'm stubborn and like to give a different flavors a chance to grow on me. I'm a person who doesn't like blue cheese but continually tries it just to make sure. The aroma of this wine was minerally. The best description I have is an Iron adjacent smell. Almost like blood but not the same. The flavor was earthy and rooty. It was the best part of the wine. It had a short finish. I'm no wine expert, but I can tell I was tasting something special. The last time I had wine like this was at a wine making competition. I also tried some of the wine on draft. It was an easy going wine that you could easily have a few of. We didn't have any food, but it seemed like the signature of the menu was their smash burgers. They also had some small bites like fries, cheese, olives, charcuterie, and salads. The other big items were schnitzel and the Rigatoni Alla Vino. The operator said the Rigatoni was an ode to a dish from Don Peppe's - a locals' favorite Italian restaurant in Queens. The space is welcoming. It part of the new wave of wine bars that aren't stuffy. It's about trying fun and experimental wines. Young stuff. Not necessarily hawking out for carefully aged vintages. It's fun and the team is very hospitable. Music is what I'd expect from a Queens local. Lots of 90s and 2000s hip hop. Playlist was filled with A Tribe Called Quest, Talib Kweli, and Common. They have some big speakers and turntables for vinyl records. They had a new record from Future which I suppose is something to boost for audiophiles. Acoustics here were as good as any listening lounge that we've been to in NYC. Entertainment wise, they have some board games behind the bar. No TVs inside the bar, but they have a projector in the backyard which can be used for special events. Two gender neutral restrooms. The one I used was handicap accessible. There is a step to enter the establishment, but they have a button to press in order to request assistance with entry. Good luck to Bouquet! They'll certainly be my go to for wine in Greenpoint.
