    Chicken and waffles

Wow, we were so lucky to stumble upon this place. While this joint has all your classic diner staples, the also offer that Latin sason, so its safe to say, Angie's Breakfast Spot didn't disappoint. Last weekend while visiting NYC, we decided to spend our weekend in the Brooklyn area, and before heading to Williamsburg, we decided to stop by Angie's. The menu is very extensive without being overwhelming, and has a little bit of everything for everyones fancy. I ordered the oxtail, 3 empanadas (macaroni and cheese, cuban and plantain and cheese) and Mangu (yes I can eat, and when traveling I eat even more, lol). My wife ordered the Chicken and Waffles and for drinks I ordered the Hangover Cure(I wasn't hangover, wink wink, lol) and she ordered the Soursop juice(it was delicious) Let's talk about the food, their oxtail is probably one of the best oxtail dishes I've ever had, not too fatty and with the right amount of meat, the seasoning wasn't overpowering which it was perfect. The mangu, omg!! I've been having dreams about it since that day, just perfect. The empanadas were good, hard to get impressed when you are visiting from Miami, but the Mac and Cheese was definitely a nice addition and surprise on their menu. The chicken and waffles were definitely one of my favorites, the breading was fused to the meat so when you took a bite, everything would go together and not like sometimes you bite fried chicken and the breading just falls apart. Service wise, these guys couldn't be more helpful and have the best attitude, actually I'm going to tell you a secret. The oxtail is part of their secret menu, so make sure you ask for that. I wish we were closer to them so I could visit every weekend, lol. Thank you guys again for everything and this place is definitely Chok approved!

I like the fact that they check vaccine cards against ID'S. The food on the other hand, I ordered a waffle combo which came with a waffle eggs bacon and sausage. The waffle was soggy, not crisp as most waffles should be, the eggs were edible the same goes for the sausage and bacon coffee is hot and while no refills I ordered a large one only 2 bucks. Prices are very reasonable I paid around 10 bucks for everything. Didn't take a picture of the main breakfast .

Great little breakfast place!!! Visiting from Florida and we came here for breakfast for my daughters birthday. Service was food, food was delish and prices were reasonable. My son had the Nutella pancakes and I had a turkey sausage egg and cheese sandwich and my daughter had a platter and my husband had a sandwich. It was so yummy we went back again!

I stopped by Angies late one morning for some breakfast. I was originally at IHOP but left because it was packed with kids since school was out that day. Angies was busy but not overly crowded. I sat at the counter and enjoyed my order of eggs with cheese, grits, turkey bacon, toast and hot tea for a whopping $6. I didn't wait long for my meal at all. It looked like they also get a lot of phone orders because that phone was ringing off the hook. I felt very comfortable and homey in their little diner. Now to the food, it was just okay. I tried my best to spruce up my grits but just couldn't get it right. LOL. Next time I will order the home fries. I saw this big carton of juice one of the servers was pouring into a small cup and asked what it was, and she said "oatmeal juice." I screwed up my face like omg and then decided to try it. LOL That "oatmeal juice" wasn't too bad. Next time I will try a full cup because it did have a little kick to it. The staff were super friendly and this place definitely seems like a neighborhood gem where the staff knows their regulars and vice versa. I heard so many customers calling the staff by their first names which was cool. I will definitely be back for some other breakfast items and to try some more of that "oatmeal juice."

    BLT Sandwich Lunch

Decided to order a late breakfast through UberEats and came across this place. After viewing their menu, I finally decided on a BLT sandwich and a lemonade to quench my thirst. The sandwich was neatly stacked and the bread was toasted just right. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh not soggy. The bacon was cooked crispy just how I like. Great sandwich overall. The lemonade was a treat too.

All of this food for 6 bucks. The OJ is extra.

Quick and Easy. This restaurant is a diner-type establishment with no frills and thrills. I typically come here for breakfast on Sundays and the food is very basic (in a good way) at a very low price. For example, one can get two scrambled eggs, two sausage links, two strips of bacon, and a waffle for 6 bucks. I do not know if you can beat that deal anywhere!!! The food is not super amazing but sometimes it comes out fast without any major issues. My only complaint is that service can be a little sluggish at times. Other than that minor issue, I love this place and probably will make this part of my Sunday routine. Perhaps, I will lay off of the waffles. ;)

I have recently moved to a new area and was looking for a cool spot for breakfast and came across Angie's. The price was reasonable and the food was cheap! I had the salmon with grits over easy & a side of peanut butter pancakes and it came with a free coffee. it was delicious the salmon was well seasoned my eggs was perfectly poached & the grits was nice & soft. Now the peanut butter pancake was cool but it mixed properly. I had bits of raw batter in the pancake; it would of been great otherwise. I would definitely come back & try more things on the menu.

I got lucky one night when there was no line & my girlfriend and I got a seat. To start off, the ambiance is rock solid, they got the classic old school American/ New York look. Beautiful lights, a sky line art work, comfy leather seats, and you can scribble on the table I love it. Staff & service are also amazing, there very attentive, respectful, friendly and the service is great, they do a great job in both of these aspects. However, their food is lacking. It's a very small menu, we ordered their burger, clams, wedge salad and Sunday. All of the items were fine, I personally didn't like the clams, I felt they were too dry, the burger was good but nothing you can't get anywhere else. The salad and Sunday weren't worth it. However, what was very disappointing, I believe they cook using cheap oils, because after our meal, my girlfriend & I just felt really bad in our stomach. I really wish this place well and hope they last, but the hype is way too high and I think they need to switch the oil and quality of their ingredients.

The tres/quatro golpes was also a hearty choice with mangu (mashed plantain), sausage, fried cheese, and eggs. The pickled red onion balanced everything out. The fried cheese is similar to a halloumi but I think it's a bit more flavorful. All the flavors just melt together in your mouth perfectly. The French toast and omelet were good. Apparently there is more than one location in Manhattan. The inside reminded me of a classic diner. Comfy and with a pretty cool vibe. We all slid into a booth and looked over the seasonal offerings along with their standard menu. I was lured by the chicken Kyiv based on the picture of having two rolled up chicken cutlets stuffed with dill and other yumminess, but was a bit disappointment when it arrived with a single small cutlet on my plate with two heaping mounds of potatoes mash and broccoli. I instantly had regret when I should have gotten the borscht soup with pierogies, but wanted to try something I wouldn't usually. I should've stuck to what was safe. My work mom got the stuffed cabbage and that was a clear homerun- really loved the mushroom gravy that it came with. My other colleague got the potato pancake and wasn't too thrilled with it, while my boss got the two Swedish meatballs that he described to be Ikea worthy. Although this was my first time here, I can't say that anyone really loved the food nor would come out of their way to come back. I really was hoping this would have wow-ed me in some way, but I guess I'll stick to what's familiar.

A friend and I each got a soup to start our meal, along with sharing a Potato Pancake. The Matzoh Ball Soup and Potato Pancake were good, but not great. However, I enjoyed the Pork & Cabbage Soup enough to take home a quart. For entree, we shared a Deluxe Meat Plate that was quite delicious. All three pierogi flavors were great, but the short rib was my favorite, followed closely by the mushroom & sauerkraut. I also really enjoyed the grilled kielbasa, but sadly it was served at room temperature. Lastly, the stuffed cabbage is not usually my thing, yet I liked this version. Once again, it was served barely warm. Thankfully, we finished on a high note. My friend really wanted the Challah Bread Pudding, which was moist and tasty. However, the lovely waitress advised us strongly to try the Medovyk. This Ukrainian layered honey cake had a wonderful texture, not too creamy or sweet, with a great walnut flavor. We were extremely happy with her suggestion. We also really liked the diner vibes that felt warm and inviting. This was so close to a five star review. The main reason for the deduction was the temperature of our food being served. Hopefully that problem will be solved on my next visit.
