    For two people. Ridiculous.
    Stacy G.

I've spent an hour since my visit trying to think of a worse dining experience. I'm at a loss. Imagine an extremely confused Waffle House meets an extravagantly priced prime breakfast spot. None of this can end well. We were ushered to sit at a dirty table upon entering. The buffet was closed (I'm sure for COVID related cause) and I have a feeling that would have been the only way to eat here. We sat down and the waitress wiped the table with us seated which ended with my boyfriend wiping the crumbs from his shirt. But wait...it gets worse. Our waitress was definitely on her game, like a really high strung game. She confused our order a bit and we ended up with two of the same waffles (mistaking our too/also for two due to the slight language barrier). I ordered the hash brown deluxe and my boyfriend ordered the ONE bacon waffle and the Irish Omelette. The TWO waffles came out first and were ok. The bacon was in the middle and not around the outer edges. We also did not get the side items that were listed on the menu as accompaniments with the waffle. This is the part that stabbed my soul....my "hash brown deluxe" was so far from special it was ridiculous. It had a Waffle House, smothered covered feel for three times the price. Soggy, 4 small pieces of broccoli and tasteless. I was so absolutely let down. The only good part was the plain white toast. My boyfriend did not get what he ordered. He wanted the Irish Omelette but very obviously got a Philly Cheese Omelette. He said it was good but not pleased about the mistake. Our bill arrived very very very quickly (refer the the high strung state of our waitress) and we seriously almost had heart attacks. THE BILL!!! 49.55!!! (See photo.) We have lived downtown for years and cannot recall any breakfast that was this price and VOID OF ADULT BEVERAGES! The final total for two people and no alcohol was $65.00 (tip included). Please understand, we would have said something but the waitress was very nice. I have sent an email using the website at the bottom of the receipt. We shall see where that goes. In conclusion, run away. Far far away and as fast as possible. Not worth the time, money or anything else. We will never be back.

Large interior. Breakfast buffet on the weekends and holidays. Soup and salad bar during the week.

I noticed this restaurant when I was in search of a late breakfast. Located adjacent to Chatham Parkway, it is far from the maddening tourist crowd of Downtown Savannah. I noticed the clientele consisted of local employees and law enforcement personnel. It is a large restaurant , with a buffet bar located in the middle of the two dining rooms. A large private parking lot is an advantage due to its location. Along with a full menu, the restaurant provides a soup and salad bar Monday - Friday, with a breakfast buffet on the weekends and holidays. I ordered a short stack of pancakes, bacon and soft scrambled eggs while I sat at one of the kitchen counters on a stool. Service was quick with the pancakes served hot, fluffy and delicious. Probably the best tasting pancakes in Savannah. Bacon was served crispy and the eggs scrambled soft as ordered. There are also lunch specials, with a meat and three sides costing around nine dollars. Nothing fancy here , but great food at a fair price is provided.

Atmosphere - good. The restaurant is just a few miles off the highway in a small strip mall. The place is bright and seemed clean. The place was packed at lunchtime, with what appeared to be local patrons. There is a lot of tables, booths and a small counter. Service- good. Our server was pleasant and attentive Food - good. The menu is pretty big and varied. There is a small salad bar as well. My wife and I split a turkey club sandwich. It was average in size and tasted fine. I also had the chicken enchilada soup, which was tasty. Overall - good. The prices are reasonable and the service good.

We were looking for something simple and found this to be the perfect spot. I love diners, and this place had exactly what I was looking for. Ambience is typical diner, and the menu is varied. They also offer a soup and salad bar. Our server was pleasant and attentive. My husband and I split a club sandwich and chips and he got a bowl of soup. The sandwich came quickly and was tasty. You could tell many of the patrons were locals, so you know you are getting a bargain.

Never order their chicken fingers. They are fake and rubbery. I wish they would go back to the real ones. They do have a good breakfast and lunch buffet.

Our Amtrak train was delayed leaving Savannah and we needed breakfast. A worker at the station suggested Sunrise Restaurant. I ordered the Irish Omelette with hash browns. It was very good. I'd eat here again.

    Severely undercooked eggs

Not entirely sure how this place received a 4.2 stars over the course of time that they have been open. This place should be rated at a max of three or below stars. Overall food was subpar, orange juice tasted like metal, and the cooks were sneezing and wiping their face with their arms/hands throughout the time that they were cooking. On top of that they were also eating french fries on the line while cooking while never once changing out their gloves. Lastly, I had to almost fight tooth and nail to get eggs taken off of our check because they were severely undercooked.

Two things. First, when its my time, I want to go out how Paul Yao the owner and founder of Sunrise restaurants, went out. "He had his dancing shoes on and poker chips in his pocket," Yao died of a heart attack on an Alaskan cruise after dancing the cha-cha and playing a hand of poker. I'm thinking Mr. Yao understood that sometimes a guy waiting for his car to be worked on just wants a good, diner cheeseburger at 9 in the morning. Second, Sunrise should run a shuttle up and down Chatham Parkway offering lifts to all of us stuck waiting in the service departments of Chatham Parkway Subaru, Chatham Parkway Toyota, Kia of Savannah, and Chatham Parkway Lexus. The Toyota place was nice enough, offering popcorn, coffee and mysterious oily donuts--guaranteed indigestion when the maintenance bill comes due. So I picked my way down Chatham Parkway that has crosswalks but no sidewalks to grab a bite at Sunrise. The breakfast bar was tempting on a Friday morning but I knew what I wanted. Just a burger. With stuff on it. Like grilled onions and mushrooms. And bacon. Perfection. Since I'm trying to keep my life simple, I suppose I can go now. Maybe not as dramatically and finally as Paul Yao but the Toyota people did put a new battery in my key fob.

The greeting from our arrival to seating was prompt and very courteous. We got suggestions from the wait staff and started our experience. They have an extensive cocktail and wine list. We started with a drink called Southern Hospitality and their branded Old Fashioned. Both drinks were exceptional. We accompanied that with Grilled Octopus, which was sensational. Very hard not to make it chewy. Great char and sauce that accompanied it. For entrees, we did the Perloo, an amazing interpretation, and a swordfish. Both dishes were immaculately prepared and perfectly sized. We chose a bottle of Loss and Lehn, something we had never tried before but recommended based on what we had ordered. It matched perfectly with both dishes. We also choose items from the pick 3 menu to accompany our entrees. We finished with the best bread Pudding we have ever had nd french press coffee. The price was very reasonable considering the quality and the service, and should not be missed next time you are in Savanah.

The artwork was awesome, especially since both of my grandfathers were in WWII, and some of it looked familiar. The table ordered everything from salads, to a HUMUNGOUS hotdog for the kid (he originally wanted two and the waitress told him to start with one LOL), cheeseburgers, a pastrami sandwich, and a ration size portion of steak and cheese fries for me. I really liked how they offered smaller portions for a lot of their items, especially since we had a huge lunch. Everyone's food came out but mine. When I pointed it out to the waiter (who didn't take our order), he went to check and said it was his mistake and he would bring it out shortly. It took less than five minutes to come out and he offered me a milkshake for the wait. I had already had Leopold's that day but my cousin hadn't so he got a Mint Chocolate Chip milkshake. He really liked it. All of the food was good. I wanted to point out that my steak and cheese fries said ribeye and queso in the description. Yes, that was probably ribeye (it was tender and delicious) and while it was technically queso, Cheez whiz would have been a more apt description. That's ok, because it was good. Overall, a wonderful experience. I really liked how the waiter took accountability and fixed it. Very much appreciated. I would 100% return.

We were seated right away, and our server was incredibly friendly and attentive from start to finish. It also came with a generous portion of crispy waffle fries, which were excellent. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food, and the prices were very reasonable, fitting the casual diner vibe. My only real criticism was the speed of service. There were only three occupied tables when we visited, yet it took about 35 minutes for the first plate to arrive. The last person at our table didn't receive their meal until nearly 45 minutes after we ordered, which seemed unusually slow for how quiet the restaurant was. The other thing worth mentioning is that the menu varies quite a bit between locations. This restaurant's menu is heavily focused on breakfast. While the food itself was good, it would be nice if the menus were more consistent across locations. Having to research which location serves which items takes away from the convenience of a unified brand. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would definitely return for a quick lunch. The food was tasty, reasonably priced, and the creative footlong hot dog alone is worth trying.
