    Injeolmi sulbing

We got the injeolmi sulbing. For the price that we paid, it's definitely on the pricier side. It's very small. The mochi bits on top tasted like they'd been sitting at the shop for days (very stale). It wasn't overly sweet as you could control the amount of condensed milk you put on it. Wouldn't come here for shaved ice again.

I have wanted to try this place for a long long time and finally got a chance to. They are located on Robson St. across from Whole Foods. After having a sumptuous dinner at Saku next door, I decided to come here for dessert. On the day I visited, there was only outdoor seating available. The ambiance was not the most ideal since there was an abundance of noise and air pollution from all the people and cars swarming Robson St. I tried the red bean bing su. In terms of flavor, it was 3-stars as well. The shaved ice lacks any flavor and there were large icy chucks mixed in with the snow. To ameliorate the lack of flavor, I had to add extra condensed milk into the bing su, which the server was reluctant to give me a second tablespoon of. The red bean paste was mediocre, but not bad either.

Craving dessert on Robson St and stumbled upon sulbing. They have a few seats indoors and then outdoor seating as well. We were intrigued by the strawberry cheese melon bingsu, $19.95, which looked very nice in the photo. But the actual product we got did not look like what was advertised, so be warned! We were expecting it to come in a nice melon. The taste itself was pretty good though - the melon pieces and strawberries were nice and sweet. We shared between 3 people.

I go to Sulbing Café every time I go to Vancouver, BC. It is a small place but the desert is very good. There use to be a 雪花冰 store a block away which was even better but it was a victim of the pandemic. If you like Taiwanese style shaved milk ice please go to this cute little place so downtown Vancouver doesn't loose it's last one! Just fair warning... although the size looks big to share... get your own! It is too yummy to share. :)

The price of desserts now honestly is kinda insane. I could not believe that bingsoo could be at an upwards of $18?? Don't come here if you want to save money. So I go the strawberry bingsoo and it was good. Nothing fantastical I mean it's bingsoo. The size is ok for 2 people share. It was perfect sweetness. I just don't know if it was completely worth $16 but I guess inflation amirite? Service was attentive and quick! I don't know if I would come back again though. I would have to be in a certain mood to come back here

    Green Tea Bingsu

The mango bingsu here was so good the first time we had it. However, the amount of times we come by to get it again they are ALWAYS sold out!! This time we tried the green tea bingsu and it tastes so bland! The best part is the ice cream on top but other than that, you're eating ice with your ice cream!

It really seems like someone in management decided since then to cut corners and save as much money as possible per dessert. Not sure if this is true, but it's the vibe I'm getting now compared to when they first opened. And even if it's not true, it's still a very bad impression to give to any customer. I wish them well but not sure how long they will last running like this. Yes, they might make more money for one visit by cutting back on each dessert, but customers won't return after the bad first impression. Without repeat customers, it will be very difficult to stay in business.

I'd spotted C Fruit Life, which was nearby, so we decided to give them a try. It's a HK style dessert chain. We dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 10:00pm). The inside is new and has a mix of tables and stools to sit at. There's also two entrances; they kept one of the doors open so it was chilly to sit on that end. Service was okay but workers spoke limited English. Menu is split into mein mein ice, recommends, fruit mix, ice cream, fruit smoothies, milkshakes, milk foam tea, soup lovers and pastries. - Mango snowdae ($9.99) - they make it fresh, which made for a light, thin shaved texture. Mangoes were good and even the mochi was tasty. It had a sticky, chewy texture. Solid. - Avocado & mango blast ($4.99) - this wasn't what we were expecting. The drink comes out split; half avocado on top and half mango on the bottom. It's also really small. Even when you mix the two parts together, it's still not satisfying. Disappointing and I love my avocado mango drinks! On the fence with CFL.
