This place is beautiful. The Christmas set up is very festive. Live piano and singer sang Christmas songs. The food was good. After we ate, we went upstairs to the bar and it was nice ambiance. Our waitress Dot at the restaurant was GREAT. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought us champagne. At the bar upstairs the Managers brought us more champagne. We went here for an anniversary and felt warm and welcome from the moment we walked in. We sat on the patio right next to the fire and they brought us Prosecco and wished us a happy anniversary. We ordered a bottle of great wine and some charcuterie. When they brought the charcuterie, the head chef brought out some incredible mussels that weren't even on the menu and chatted with us. Our waitress was always making sure everything was superb. We ordered a pizza and some pasta which was absolutely delicious. I'd recommend the pappardelle bolognese and my fiancé got the pepperoni and honey pizza. After dinner, they brought us a chocolate tarte that was to die for. We were so impressed with the service, food, and friendliness that we're telling all of our friends with anniversaries coming up just because it was such a culinary experience. I took my family to celebrate a birthday and was very impressed. Gina, our server, was outstandingly knowledgeable and very helpful with dinner selections. Gina comped the table small glasses of champagne to toast the special occasion along with a chocolate and berry birthday treat after dinner for the birthday girl. So very nice of the restaurant to provide that extra touch. The food was delicious and it was easy to tell everything was made from scratch. The hotel bar and restaurant were modernly decorated yet very comfortable. How nice it was to have a pianist playing during dinner and we were given a great table to enjoy it all. Horrible service here. Waiter insulted me for ordering Budweiser when he told me they were out of draft Stella and called me "classy". He also used the word "word" quite often as an affirmation, very unprofessional and outdated, too. It took 3 waiters to take care of us, not sure why, we were just a party of 5. My husband and I came to Subito for a dinner date after a couple drinks on the rooftop patio (a must) and it didn't disappoint! His steak was well cooked and the mashed potatoes were remarkable. The Mabel's Smoked Manhattan was incredible! I had the Cacio e pepe which was very flavorful. The ambiance and live piano music made for a romantic and memorable night. We'll be back! read more

If you're going all-in with the name "Subito" then it should be "fast". This was not. It was super slow despite being not very busy. It was also super expensive. The cuisine was tasteful, but portions were exceedingly small and exorbitantly priced. It reminded me of the old commercial, "Where's the beef?" Apparently to get a full meal you're supposed to order multiple courses, each individually costing as much as an entire dinner for two. The decor seemed new and clean, but the proliferation of tile surfaces felt sterile and exposed, as well as somewhat ostentatious. After dinner we went up to the roof garden. HELLO - add three stars. Subito is a must try! My wife and I got the baked oysters, fig and prosciutto pizza, risotto, and bolognese. The restaurant has excellent covered outdoor seating, you have a great view of downtown! Also, you have to try their rooftop bar for a drink before or after dinner - the views are amazing and the drinks are excellent. Ray and the whole Subito team took great care of us! I dined at Subito for the first time this week with two other girlfriends. The food, atmosphere and service was excellent. But the highlight was our server Dot. I don't think I've ever had such an enjoyable experience (and I dine out A LOT). I rarely take the time to do these types of reviews but that's how good Dot was. When you get a Covid night out and want to feel great...this is the place. Beautiful renovation...food was beautiful as well, ...and the service was over the top and made you feel welcome and special. The GM, Kyle, I believe, was so helpful and gracious and our server Serena (I hope was her name) was both professional and personable. I love the roof top, but dinner at Subito was far below average. The cocktails were overflowing with ice like a college bar but $16 and watered down too much with soda. When asked how the cocktails were, we said just ok, and the bartender said ok so not the best, shrugged and walked away. The service was very strange. The server wouldn't take off her purse and couldn't speak loud enough to be heard. The food wasn't bad, but underwhelming. Overall, terrible service, weird vibe, not great drinks and average food. Had breakfast there on a chill Friday morning. Sat outside with a great view of the great American tower. The server we had Carly was super Personable and gave us some awesome recommendations for drinks and our food. We were so excited to dine at Subito after seeing articles and pictures for months. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to any hype, in the least. Although we requested an indoor table when we made the reservation, we were seated in a garage like glass enclosed area with a fabulous view of the hotel driveway:/ We were prepared to spend money so the prices weren't shocking but the food was bland and my steak was beyond tough. It was so disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this place to friends and I wish we would have spent our anniversary dinner elsewhere. read more

The atmosphere was great and most of the food was solid that we tried. We ordered the arancini for an app and it was amazing. Tried the pepperoni honey pizza next which was pretty good (definitely overpriced or what it was) then we had the pappardelle bolognese which was really good. The sauce was amazing and the noodles were cooked very well. They even brought it out in 2 bowls since my wife and I were splitting everything. Lastly we got the filet which I assumed would be pretty good since it's a nice restaurant and it's just shy of Jeff Ruby's prices at $43. We waited about an hour for the steak which seemed odd but we had time so we didn't complain. The waiter came to apologize that the wait was due to them overcooking the filet and were plating a new one. When it came out it looked cooked descent (medium rare) but was very dry and under seasoned, not much flavor at all. Realistically should have sent it back but wasn't worth the hassle at the time as we already been there for almost 2 hours at this point. They did give us desert on the house to make up for how long the steak took. Overall stay away from the filet and realistically there are probably better options for Italian for the price but the other food was pretty good, just a little over priced in my opinion. Horrendous. I made reservations a week or two before we visited. We were seated outside and from what I could tell, there were maybe two other tables seated when we got there. We waited. 15, 20 minutes later with no waiter, no drink menu, no service, we started to get antsy. 30 minutes later, I went back to the hostess and asked if we could get a drink menu. She says, "I'll work on it." Interesting. 40 minutes later, my husband goes and asks if we even have a waiter. Another team member says, "I'll go ask around." Almost an hour later, we finally get our order taken. We're informed that our first round of drinks would be comped because we waited so long. Finally, FINALLY, we get our drinks and food. The food was good, but for the price and the terrible experience, it should have been. The drinks were still included on our total bill, which we had to remind them to fix. We were never asked if we wanted to order another drink. We weren't asked if wanted dessert. We never even got more water, we had to sip on the small glass they poured when we sat down for over two hours. Not sure what the deal is, but I won't be back. read more

Food was so very disappointing, canned tasteless sauce on my eggs Benedict, had to be frozen home fries - uniformly square and tasteless and something pretending to be an English muffin...sad because the space is lovely and our server was so nice. My husband and I and another couple went here for dinner last night to celebrate my birthday. The place is beautifully decorated with high ceilings, beautiful lighting, enourmous plants and just an overall feel of luxury. The food and service were good and we loved the roof top bar. We did not like the very loud singer playing the piano. It was so loud that we had trouble having a conversation at our table and we were quite annoyed by it. We will definately go back but maybe just to the roof top bar to avoid the noise inside. read more

Main criticism was the music was so loud by the pianist singer that you couldn't carry on a conversation or hear the person next to you speaking. Her voice was amplified through out the entire space and completely takes over. Poor choice of a performer for this space. This is was perfect place for a nice weekend brunch. The lemon ricotta pancakes and frittatas were amazing. We also had bottomless bellinis and they were fantastic. With great expectations, we came to the Lytle Park Hotel for our stay in Cincinnati and decided to dine in their in-house restaurant. Upon check-in we were told that we wouldn't need a reservation at Subito. The dining room was empty, except for one table, when we came down a little after 7pm, but we were told that they couldn't seat us, because we didn't have a reservation. We had to speak with 3 different people before they would seat us, being told that there was an event and the kitchen couldn't handle it. This is totally unacceptable at a hotel the size of this one. We finally got seated and we're able to order a simple meal of salad and pizza. I will admit that the salad was ok...I didn't like the extra kale in the Caesar salad, but the mushroom pizza was excellent. Then this morning's breakfast was again disappointing. I wanted a bagel and smoked salmon and was informed that there was no smoked salmon. This place really needs to get its act together! Beautiful restaurant, but that's about the only quality trait after our visit tonight. Longer than normal wait for our waiter to acknowledge us, or to take drink orders, and was extremely smug for the entire visit. Steaks were promised to be something special, but not really much better than a supermarket cut. 2 of our guests didn't finish their meal, and refused boxing for carry out. Our waiter mopped the flooring around us after we paid but before we left a few minutes later. Was really excited about this restaurant, but hoping real Northern Italian food is much better than this with service also. read more

Started with the burrata salad which was soggy and the beets were undercooked. The carpaccio was sliced too thin as was more of a paste than an appetizer. It was also missing the olive oil and salt. The entrees were also a miss with the saltimbocca being dry, cold and tasting like it was cooked three days before being served. The filet was drastically under-seasoned and also tasted microwaved or days old. The truffle risotto was wet and soggy. The bright light in this meal was the complimentary champagne and the immaculate hotel that the restaurant sits in. Very cool space for being in downtown Cincinnati. Also, despite being virtually the only people in the restaurant and nobody at the hotel bar, it took until the end of the meal to get the drinks we ordered. If you want good food, wait a year for this newer restaurant to figure it out (get a new chef), or go to one of the MANY other fantastic spots in the city. read more
