Never having been there beige and being in the town next door, I was in the mood for pizza and thought I'd try them. I wasn't disappointed. I was greeted quickly and while looking at the rotating menu board behind the counter and trying to decide. I was directed to the menu laminated on the counter. Duh! even though I was alone I got a small meat lovers pizza and sat out back. The back was like a fenced in backyard with tables and umbrellas. When the guy brought my (great tasting) pizza out he told me to turn on the fans and basically make myself at home (my words, I was the only one there). I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Laid back, relaxed and they even have a bourbon bar upstairs. How can you beat that. When I'm in town next year, I'll have to check them out again. You should too! read more

This is a review on the food that was ordered while we were at the speakeasy above the pizzeria. We ordered a caprese salad and the Vinny pie while upstairs at the speakeasy on a slow Thursday afternoon. The gentleman who brought us our caprese salad, didn't directly say anything to us, but instead spoke only to the bartender (as he placed the salad in front of us) and told him not to place any more orders for caprese. He seemed inconvenienced by our order and more interested in his smoke break. We were surprised at the presentation and at the lack of flavor but assumed that the pizza would be amazing! based on what we had read and heard - but were incredibly disappointed. The pizza was flavorless and Incredibly greasy. Our impression is that this must be a great location for college students or those who have enjoyed their drinking experience and need some grease to sober them up and don't mind what they are eating. We were very let down in our experience and the lack of professionalism from the employee who seemed to think that since he was in the speakeasy, he didn't need to be professional. read more

I have always loved this place and their bar, but somehow I've never given it a review. So we snuck in here on a Sunday evening to grab drinks before a dinner reservation at a different restaurant and ended up sitting at the bar and being treated by an awesome bartender who was very personable and gave us a great experience. He decided to mix us a couple cocktails that weren't on the menu and they ended up being delicious. He was super talkative and attentive. Made great drinks. We definitely come back here. 100% recommend if you are looking for an authentic NY style pizza! I love pizza and NY style is my favorite of them all. Goodfellas nailed it! Huge slices that you are supposed to fold and use two hands to eat and it's affordable. The building is unique and classic Covington. The first floor is where you order and they have a few beers in tap. The second floor has seating and a full bar. I will absolutely be back and thinking I may have found my new favorite pizza joint. Parking isn't too difficult, there are free street parking spots. I could tell most usually grab a slice and go instead of sitting around to eat. My wife, kids and I have gone to this location several times and we love the pizza. It's the best around. However, after the last three visits we will not be going there anymore. The service has been atrocious. They ignore you unless you're forcefully rude, sometimes they heat up your pizza, sometimes they just slap the cold pieces down on a plate and hand it to you. This last visit they ask you what you want and don't listen for the answers. You ask for the lunch special, they give you just a slice and no breadstick. You ask for ranch they give you marinara. We overheard one couple order theirs to go and he served them dine in style. My wife ordered a personal pizza and they must have pushed out several large pizzas before hers was ready. When we finally get it the guy drops it on the floor (thankfully) in the box. He didn't apologize or anything. She was starving so we just took it and left. Great pizza, awful service! read more

Best place we've been to in the KY/Cincinnati area! Our first spot upon arriving and we were not disappointed! The 20" pie is the biggest pie we've seen, it was perfectly cheesy and yummy. I was glad the buffalo chicken cheese bread wasn't drenched in buffalo sauce too! It was the perfect hint of spice but not too overpowering. Come here, get a large and enjoy it! We're looking forward to coming back here next time we're in the area. This pizza place drew us in with the smell of baked pizza dough. Once inside, I liked the counter-style set up and my SO remarked that it was like a NYC joint. Kinda. You can see and order pizza by the slice. I tried the cheese slice. It reminded me a bit of a pizza style from my hometown in California - one that I don't know how to name, but love non-the-less. Good fellas is maybe a tad bit saltier than what I'm used to having (but I eat low salt mostly). We were also told we could go sit upstairs in the lounge where there is a very impression bourbon collection. I definitely would like to return and try some of those cocktails. read more

I swear I am not one to usually complain lol, but tonight we placed at order for carry out at 7pm to be ready at 7:50pm. Got there at 7:45pm and was told to wait as the order wasn't ready yet, no biggie!! Sat down and waited until 8:15pm and was getting a little frustrated as the pizza was supposed to be ready 30 minutes ago and the store was not busy. Went up to counter to say I had been waiting and was wondering when it would be ready, and the worker said it had been ready and was sitting at the pickup counter... no one had told us it had been placed at the pickup counter and we were sitting there waiting for it for 30 minutes... and it was sadly so cold by the time we got it. No bashing towards you guys, we LOVE goodfellas. Just was not a pleasant experience and defeats why we placed a pickup order. read more

I love this Goodfellas! Whenever my partner and I are in town we often stop by this location. We love ordering our food then heading to the upstairs bar. On this trip, I ordered a slice of Pepperoni pizza. The slices are huge, the cheese is fantastic, the sauce and pepperoni make for a great New York style pie. And, you can't forget one of the huge slices of breadstick! I always get it with the garlic butter. Soooo good!! Then we head upstairs where there's a full bar with lots of beer on tap, and a large selection of Bourbons and super cool atmosphere. Finally, the service is always top notch! What a great little pizza shop. The pizza is New York style pizza where each piece of pizza is so big it's easier to eat when it is folded in half. I had the sausage and peppers pizza. The peppers were good but I absolutely loved the sausage on this pizza. The guys at the counter, where you order your pizza, where awesome to talk to. They gave some details on the pizza and were quick to make recommendations and even gave me some background on the really cool building they are located in. Make sure to check out the upstairs dining area and bar along with the outdoor patio. Stopped in Covington for the night on a long road trip and grabbed a pizza before heading to our hotel. We got a plain cheese for the kids and a pizza with meatballs, ricotta, basil for the adults. This pizza is SO GOOD. The crust has tons of flavor, the meatballs were delicious. The flavor over all was amazing. I tried a piece of the cheese pizza and it was great too- usually plain cheese is pretty flavorless but this one was pretty good! I'm jealous that my husband gets to go to Covington a lot for work and eats here a lot. I wonder if he could bring one home for me someday...we're just a 2 hour plane ride away! read more

"we can't get the staff etc etc... boohooo... well if you can't get the staff you shouldn't serve food... or at least reduce the prices of the sub standard food. this was made very clear at a recent visit to Goodfellas in Mainstrasse Covington. We tried to order the slice of pizza we had the week before - sausage,onion and peppers - it was excellent ! but unfortunately they didn't have this week - so we tried to recreate it - oh boy. The thing that was delivered to us was awful, undercooked with literally 3 tiny bits of sausage on it - we complained - "you want it made again ?" yes we would like it made again, 15 minutes later - the same anemic pizza - but with four bits of sausage. When my wife complained again she was rewarded with the sheer rudeness of the two bozos who were cooking - "we won't be coming back". 'Ok good". another example of how not to run a business in post Covid times. read more
