This was one of my favorite bakeries in NJ. Went out of my way to stop by this morning to pick up some delicious treats before visiting my brother down the shore and was literally yelled at by the young woman behind the counter. I entered with my son, both wearing masks, and were YELLED at to leave because there can only be 4 people in the store. I'm all for following protocol and immediately turned around to leave. I was actually going to wait until my son said, "Do you believe she just yelled at us like that?" We returned to our car and have vowed to never return. Also, I only saw two people on the line. Never met a more NASTY group of workers. We tried to walk in and we're told 6 people in the store allowed. We walked out. Waited until a few people left and myself, My mother, and 9 year old daughter walked and and were told to to leave and wait some more. When my mother said she was done and walked out the women started saying nasty things to us. One of them said "they can't read the sign". Mind you NO ONE in there was wearing masks. So that policy makes ZERO sense anyway. By that time I was pissed. I walked back in and ask what was said. The women didn't even have the guts to say it to my face. They are insulting and then when you hold them accountable they deny saying the nasty things they say. No great-tasting dessert is worth their condescending remarks. NASTY PEOPLE! Decent bakery but not the best. The donuts are perfectly moist and fluffy. Definitely get their jelly & glazed donut as they are by far the best! Their crumb cake is simply delicious. Other than that everything else is pretty standard. I got a chocolate chip cookie and it was very dry and hard. I've also tried their Cannoli and the cookie part of it was very dry as for the filling nothing extraordinary. If your going to this bakery stick to the donuts and apple crumb. read more

Not only is this 3lber great that day, night, and 3 nights later-if you can make it last that long. With the right amount of crumbs & moisture it's sure to be your new favorite too. Crum- my!!! Decided to try their "famous crumb cake" on a Saturday 8am for a fresh taste. Unfortunately, either it was a different baker or I was sold what seems to be yesterday's sheet of cake but what I had bit into was a hard, dry, tasteless and stale piece of crum..my cake!! Worse is that I was told they didn't sell it by the piece so I had to purchase a sheet & was planning to give it away to my friends .. which would have been embarrassing! Whoa crumb buns! I walked into this bakery by accident this morning on my way to CVS. Some of the window displays (uncooked pizza and such) had me a touch nervous. The cookies and turnovers gave me some hope and the doughnuts looked promising. Another patron strongly suggested the crumb cake (I got a to-go crumb bun) and it was extremely worth it. I love this place. This is a classic German style bakery. From the donuts to the Crumb Cake - Just fantastic. Seriously, some of the best Crumb Cake in the state. You are going to want to buy a whole cake. I always love a place that gives out samples and usually they have multiple items to sample. Their muffins are not on the larger size but are loaded with taste. I am crazy about their danish. The Bohemian is so good. I really have not tried their breads and stick to their sweet items but they do offer breakfast and lunch pastries.
