My experience with their owner left a bad taste in my mouth... I requested my egg to be cooked over medium instead of scrambled, which was listed on the menu. Unfortunately, my request wasn't taken seriously, and the sandwich arrived with a scrambled egg. Mistakes happen, so I politely asked to have it remade the way I ordered it. The manager, Steve, was surprisingly rude about it and suggested just adding another egg on top rather than remaking the sandwich. I declined because that would have made my sandwich not fresh anymore. I simply wanted the sandwich prepared the way I had originally asked. It wasn't even busy at all. Getting that resolved felt like pulling teeth, and ultimately, I never received the sandwich I ordered. It's a shame because the food itself has potential, but I can't recommend a place that treats customers this way. If you make a mistake on an order as the owner, you should definitely remake it, especially if the customer is asking for it. There are plenty of small businesses that value both quality and customer service, this one just doesn't seem to be one of them. read more

Their red pepper romesco shmear is out of this world. I've had it on an Everything Bagel and in the "Yam and Cheese" which also has chili glazed yam, sprouts, tomato, cucumber, and avocado. They both came out buttered and toasted too. The guy working the counter was super nice, and I never have to wait too long for my order. Definitely a nice lunch spot in The Churchill. Tried the everything bagel with a smear and added ham with a side of tatter tots. We waited 20-25 minutes and everything was cold. The bagel wasn't toasted and the smear was barley noticable. A lot of fat on the thick ham slice as well. Very disappointing. Especially after waiting that long. It tasted like they just threw it together. read more

Love LOVE Stoop Kid. Always fun to grab a bagel in the morning before work or stop by Monday for burritos. The staff is so awesome - I work at a coffee bus and they've come out to support us. Just really nice people and really quality food. They have a vegan breakfast burrito that is bomb - I chose vegetarian but love both. Crispy hash browns, black beans, eggs on a flour tortilla that's grilled. Great texture and topped off with a yummy green salsa that is mild and delicious. They do have vegan cream cheese for bagels but I'm not sure what their vegan lunch/dinner options are. My go to is an Asiago bagel with Parmesan scallion cream cheese. I hate driving in downtown Phoenix, but I think my bagel sandwich was totally worth it. This is part of Churchill, and they do their little street market outside on Saturdays which was cool! I ordered the Yam and Cheese, which was a plain bagel with sprouts, tomato, chili glazed yam, cucumber, and red pepper cream cheese. They said it would be ready in 5 minutes but it did take more like 15-20 minutes, which was fine because I wasn't in a rush or anything but just something to keep in mind in case you are! I sometimes regret getting bagel sandwiches because then I can't fully enjoy the bagel and cream cheese experience, but I did not miss that with this sandwich! It was flavorful and everything on it was fresh. The bagel was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, totally satisfied my bagel craving. Love the roasted red pepper schmear- haven't had anything like that before. Felt like food could have used a bit more seasoning but everything felt fresh. Stoop Kid has three of the best vegan options in the city. Monday mornings they serve breakfast burritos, and the vegan one is the best I have ever had. Potatoes, JustEgg, avocado. On the other days you can get the Yam and Cheeze in a vegan form, it is so good that many non vegans order it too. I do it on an everything bagel. A fantastic spot for a breakfast sandwich. Over a few days we tried the various options. The Money Shot is the heartiest if you are hungry, basically a whole fluffy omelette with some bomb hash browns all on a bagel. The yam and cheese made excellent use of the bean sprouts and felt like a much lighter and healthier breakfast. The egg thee scallion was good but not as great as the others, the defining flavors were the cream cheese mixed with the slices of ham. They have coffee it's fine (better fancy coffee at Palabra up the block). My friends have been telling me for a month how amazing Stoop Kid's breakfast bagel sandwiches are. The fifth photo of the Money Shot (you read that right) was my limit. So while my friend and I were out and about for a socially distant drink Downtown, we decided to make our way into Churchill and see if we could snag ourselves some bagels. Alas, they do have a breakfast cut off. Despite this heartbreaking news, we decided to take the burger plunge. We put in a duplicate order of a single patty Stoop Burger with a hash cake. The cashier was super friendly and really amped us up for what was to come, then told us he'd bring our burgers wherever we sat, which gave us time to go grab a drink from Brill Line and get settled. When our burgers and hash came around, he informed us that the cook made a mistake and gave us the regular double patty burgers. OH NOOOOO more food, this is terrible just kidding this is great, DOWN THE HATCH. I honestly haven't had such a delicious burger in a really long time. The texture, flavors, and overall balance was perfect. Instead of catching up, my companion and I spent a good amount of time just gushing about how surprisingly amazing our burgers were. If anyone were to have been close enough to hear us (they weren't - cooties), we would have gotten a lot of side eye. The food is so fresh and so clean clean. Ordered both bagel options and got to say I was pretty dang full, so I had to come back for lunch and then later that week for dinner. Had the pobrecito burger during lunch time then the stoop burger for dinner. They also have a Latin Puerto Rican mix to the join and have these delicious plantains that are not extremely fried and smothered in oil like I've experienced at other restaurants... yuck. So I have been wanting to try this place for awhile now. I'm so glad I finally got a chance to. I had the Pobricito burger and fried plantains. Oh my gosh this was the best burger I've had in a very long time. The burger was perfectly overlapping the wonderful soft brioche bun with yummy cheesiness oozing. The first bite made me smile. It's a big burger for sure , I couldn't finish it although I really tried. The fried plantains were good size nuggets. Definitely can be shared.
