Ordered Curbside Delivery for the family on 4/19. Our pick up time was 4pm and you just give them a call once you are parked! Customer service was great, the food was hot and fresh and delicious. The StoneFire Grill is located in the Target Shopping center. You can't miss it! What we ordered: Stonefire Chopped Chicken Salad- We got the mesquite BBQ chicken breast and it comes with mixed greens, black beans, roasted corn, carrots, red cabbage, cilantro, Jack cheese, tortilla strips, tomato, scallions and a side of ranch. The portion we got was plenty and served 4 adults with leftovers. BREADSTICKS!- A must- We got two orders and as soon as we got home the first order was demolished. Their breadsticks are amazing, I highly recommend getting them with any meal. Macaroni & Cheese- Creamy but not overwhelming, its a good side as well to get. Tri Tip with Mesquite BBQ- SUPER good, we got this portion and the amount of BBQ was perfect. They also give you a good size of BBQ on the side. Tri Tip with Pepper Garlic topped with Gorgonzola butter- Prob my new favorite from Stonefire, up until today I had only had the BBQ Tri tip but the gorgonzola butter on this tri tip was amazing! The Works Pizza-Has pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, red onion. Super bomb, and fresh. You can order for curbside pickup, or pick up for a certain time. Madison was very friendly and professional when I called about 10 minutes early to check the status of our order. Sure, lots of people bash Stonefilre Grill with low rating. Let's face it. They are not close to making the top 10 steakhouses in the area. I can probably BBQ a tri tip better than they can, if I had the time. But, what they are is a great family restaurant with great prices. I appreciate that I can get a meal for my family for under $30 and have lots of leftovers. This Brea location is a nice location for me. It is far enough away so that I cannot go there everyday, yet close enough that I can go when I want to pig out. I've ordered both in the restaurant and have had take out. Ordering is easy. Go to the counter and pay. Grab a table or wait to be seated when they are busy. The employees have always been nice and helpful at this location. I've always appreciated them for their "stimulus package" which includes a meat of your choice, a pizza, salad and breadsticks. Now with the COVID-19 emergency, I've had the opportunity to try other specials. The whole tri-tip special is a great deal at $24.99. Now that the restaurant is take out only, they have increased their parking for curbside takeout. Ordering online is easy. My food was ready as soon as I arrived and not only that, they walked it out to my car. Now I have a refrigerator full of leftovers to enjoy for another day. It isn't easy saving a buck these days. We went to Stonefire Grill for the first time to meet friends. Not impressed at all. We placed our order and proceeded to fill our drinks but couldn't get to the beverage area due to employees standing and talking in the area. We then received a sarcastic excuse me from what appeared to me a manager when we were trying to enter the area. We went outside for seating, they brought us our salads and breadsticks, the garden salad was ok it lacked flavor so we found some salt and pepper it was lacking ingredients per menu. When the food arrived the mashed potatoes were cold along with the ribs, chicken was warm but not hot. My wife's tri tip was cold as well. As the evening progressed several of us went inside to ask them to turn on the heaters, we went in again 30 minutes later with same request and someone finally came out and they tried 2 heaters before they could get one to work. I was surprised to find a Stonefire out in Placentia/Brea so of course I had to stop by. I'm sad to say that they don't serve as many salads as I remember, but I was told that there was some menu streamlining during Covid, which makes sense. There were a lot of newer/unfamiliar items that I wanted to try. The burger that I got was really juicy, freshly cooked, very well done. Left me craving some thick steak fries to go with it, but the beans and mashed potatos were spot on in place of them. I also got my old standby works pizza, glad to see some things never change! Delicious! The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a small platoon of them checking in on us and refilling drinks and what not, that seemed new, but appreciated. I got to speak to one of the waiters for a good minute and we chatted about a bunch of random things. I almost forgot we were in a restaurant, so great job on hiring that guy, very easy to talk to, I don't recall his name. Otherwise, everything was perfect. So. Stone Fire Grill. I don't know what you are all about but I like it. We came in last night in a large group. Place was packed. No tables available for large parties and it's first come first serve. Gotta be a good sign? The staff was super helpful. They greeted us and asked how many we were, and politely informed us that they did not have a table available at the moment except for outside, but it was not recommended since it might rain. But the guy was really accomodating and said he'd take care of getting us a table, we could look at menus and decide what we wanted, and he'd make sure to get our food out as soon as we had a table. We ordered and he actually had a table cleared and set up for us by the time we paid. We didn't love the beer selection, was hoping for more of a full bar or draft system, but the food was excelente. My credit to the chefs back there. They had so many people in the building and we started getting food really quickly. The steak was perfectly medium rare. Most places always over cook it so it's medium but this was perfect. My family and friends all got other stuff and it all looked great, but I was obsessed with the steak man. Not a huge fan of the sharp butter, but one of the staff got me some horseradish and we were good. Couple kids kept checking on us too, helped us clear the table so the kids could play. They didn't have any kind of kids menu or crayons, which is a miss. We stayed past their closing time, and I'm sure they wanted us to leave but they were really chill and not pushy. They just checked on us and let us hang for a bit, which was really appreciated. Oh and the cashier, I don't know her name, but she was a sweetheart, super patient. We decided to keep it low key for our Valentine's Day dinner and order takeout, disappointed we did.... I called in to order the petite tri tip meal Medium well (as my husband prefers it) and a kids pizza, I was told 20 minutes - not a problem. Upon arriving, 20 minutes past placing my order, they repeated the order and my husband still waited another 10 minutes... strike 1. We arrive home to find the tri tip was rather rare, strike 2. Our Cutco knives couldn't even cut through it, he had to use his hands to tear it up... strike 3. Had Stonefire for a baby shower. I loved what my friend ordered. I finally got around trying this place: dine-in. I was very skeptical with all the mixed reviews: dirty, quality is lacking, and that quantity was very mediocre for the price. My sil and I were very happy with our meals (took some home, and it looks like a whole plate). The restaurant was clean. Restrooms were clean. The self-serving stations were well equipped and clean. Told them 1st time as we ordered at the counter. We ordered way too much food- could have shared. Super self serve- silverware, pepper, to go, drinks. Except for wine- so the only way to get a 2nd glass is to buy a bottle when ordering at beginning. Salad drenched in dressing- yuck. Salad came out one minute before main entree. Love, love, LOVE Stonefire Grill. I have a family of 6 that eats like a family of 20 (no really, ask anyone that knows us lol). Stonefire is the best place for my ever hungry family! Located in the Brea plaza where Target, BevMo AND Crumbl is located?! So many good reasons to come to this plaza. The restaurant is big with lots of indoor seating that can accommodate small parties as well as much larger ones. Outdoor dining with cafe lights and heaters are also available but is much smaller than the inside. The staff is great... we frequent Stonefire pretty regularly and have always had a great experience. They are very patient with those who take a while to decide what they want to order and go over the menu with those who need it. When you walk in, you order at the counter and get a buzzer that you take with you wherever you want to sit. No reservations and it is self-seating. Food typically comes out promptly even with the limited covid staffing. We love the whole (or half) roasted chicken and the tri-tip that comes plain, bbq or garlic herb... bbq and garlic herb is very good. We prefer the bbq for the chicken and plain for the tri-tip as that is a bit too smothered for my daughter. Best thing about the tri-tip here is that you can order it rare. Places like Woodranch will not serve tri-tip rare and since we like our beef to "moo", being able to order it rare is a plus. The pizza is pretty decent for a bbq place, we get it often with the meals they offer. For the sides, their breadsticks are good; evident by the fact that my hubs and I will often say we are going to pass on the carbs but end up eating at least one. The caesar salad is AMAZING - not quite gourmet but definitely not cafeteria salad. The South of the Border salad is also very good and worth trying. The pesto pasta is pretty good but the rigatoni meat sauce is amazing and pairs well with the meats. I would stay away from the mac and cheese as it often times comes out pretty dry. Or at the very least, I would insist on a fresh batch. Not only is the food really good here... the packages they offer is amazing. Talk about a deal. They have different promo deals going on throughout the year that really helps you stretch your dollar and feed a tribe. We always have enough leftover for the kid's lunches the next day which for our family is such a plus. Protip: they offer a Stimulus Package that is not on the menu. It includes your choice of a whole roasted chicken or 1/2 order of tritip, small salad, breadsticks and a 2 topping pizza for $30! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G deal that I hope they keep forever! Protip #2: during the holidays, I stock up on their giftcard deal where you get a $10 bonus card that expires in March when you purchase $50 in giftcards. Available for virtual e-card as well as traditional card that is mailed to you. For December 2021, I tried both methods just to see and was delighted to find that both worked with ease. I was able to purchase a $100 e-card and received two $10 bonus cards within minutes of my purchase. The traditional cards were received in the mail a couple weeks after. Both totally worth doing to help save money for your family or as gifts to others. Updating with a 2 star review. I've been back several times since my initial review and I've found the quality of my meal is absolutely dictated by how busy the restaurant is. On slow days, I have a great meals. Busier days... not so much. The weekend night visits usually result in one of more things being kind of funky. This last visit it was tri-tip. Ordered medium and the middle definitely was- but the outside was crazy burnt and tasted like burnt nastiness. Because it was a busy night, it was very hard to track someone down to help get the food replaced. We just hacked it off and ate around it. This isn't the first time we had poor quality food on a busy weekend night. It has become a regular thing. But when its a slow Wednesday and the kitchen isn't rushed, the food is good. I definitely won't be going back when its busy. Hopefully they can work this out and serve good food consistently. read more

I will start off by saying that I really enjoy Stonefire for their family style meals that are meant for sharing. I especially love their baby back ribs, coleslaw, and breadsticks. However, what I don't enjoy is their customer service and the fact it took about 45 minutes to an hour for our takeout order to be prepared. We were waiting in the car for quite a while for our order to be ready and by the time we got home to eat our food, our meats were cold because they had prepared those earlier and were sitting out for a while before our other items were prepared. I understand that there is a lack of labor, but I wish that there would be proper expectations set for knowing when to expect our food. read more

I thought Stonefire Grill had good service, good food. I'm a bit surprised to see that they don't even have four stars on Yelp. Stonefire took the place of the previous TGIF behind the Brea mall. It shares a huge parking lot with Target, so there is plenty of parking. When you enter, you order your food and then take a number to your seat. There is a huge dining area and you get drinks on your own. The food is brought out to your table, but, from my experience, not all at the same time. The food was very delicious. I would come back for the signature BBQ tri tip salad. It was more than enough for three people! I highly recommend getting this. The baby back ribs were good and very "fall off the bone". Although I was trying to cut carbs, I ordered the breadsticks anyway because I wanted to try them. They were so good! I'll definitely order them the next time I get a cheat meal! I'm a big fan of the casual dining concept, plus all the spacious seating they have here, including the large outdoor patio. They have a good variety of individual entrees, as well as offer combos for sharing with larger parties. Stonefire supposedly is best known for their barbecued meat, but they also offer smaller appetizers, salads, pastas, etc. I usually like this type of menu because you can almost always find something for everyone, but just bear in mind this means they also don't specialize in any one thing...so as the adage goes, they're basically a jack of all trades - master of none. With that being said, we ordered a combo that included pizza, tri tip, breadsticks, and a salad. Nothing stood out, but nothing tasted bad either. Everything was literally just a-okay, although I did find the tri-tip to be a bit too chewy and dry. The caesar salad was also overly drenched and soggy because it was weighed down by tons of dressing, plus an excessive amount of cheese. The pizza was decent and I enjoyed the breadsticks, so it looks like they're doing something right when it comes to carbs! Although the food itself wasn't bad, the service was definitely lacking. We had our number placed very visibly on our table and yet, we had multiple servers pass us by because they apparently gave our order to another table. On top of that, when they finally did bring out part of our order, it was incorrect (they gave us an individual portion of what we ordered, instead of the family sized portion). They also forgot to bring us utensils with our food, plus we had to flag down someone, in order to finally get our carrot cake for dessert, which we had ordered upfront. When we inquired about it, they seemed confused. I understand that this is generally a self-service place, but it's definitely evident they have some major kinks to work out when it comes to simple things like delivering the right order to the right table.
