I usually don't write reviews but I felt compelled given the huge disappointment of my recent experience. Diners beware. We were a party of 12 so we spent a pretty penny on this dinner. The service and ambiance were excellent which helped gain an extra star. The food, not so much. The bread rolls were good but soaked in butter. The hamachi was decent. The ceasar salad was mediocre at best. The mushroom and sautéed corn were over salted. The hasselback potatoes and cauliflower were edible. But hard to enjoy when majority of your meal was overpowered by salt. I asked for medium rare on my bone-in filet mignon and had to send it back because it was overcooked. The house bread they start you off with is super good, very buttery but tasty, and will definitely fill you up so I recommend only eating one The 48 Caesar with the poached egg was great, with the perfect amount of dressing. They brought it out pre-split into two plates, which was super nice - they did this for the steak too. The filet mignon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. For sides we got the crispy fries, sautéed mushrooms, and shells and cheese. All were fantastic although we definitely could've ordered one less side. We were here for my husband's birthday and they give you any dessert on the house. Thought this was nice, especially since most places have a set dessert for birthdays/celebrations. We have just been to Ocean 48 a couple of weeks before to celebrate our anniversary and now trying Steak 48. But this time to celebrate a birthday. We loved Ocean 48 and we loved Steak 48 too! We enjoyed almost everything that we ordered, except for the Au Gratin Potatoes. It was still good but perhaps something we won't be ordering next time . We really enjoyed the Bone-In Ribeye 22oz which was cooked to perfection! The Pacifc Yellowtail Hamachi was so good as well! The Creamy Mac & Cheese was surprisingly good! We also enjoyed the Roasted Brussels Sprouts. Also one of our faves, the free bread that comes in the mini cast iron. Flaky/crispy outside but soft and buttery inside! Everyone was impeccably dressed, which added to the upscale and elegant atmosphere inside. We ordered NY strip, petit fillet mignon, loaded baked potato and creamy spinach artichoke, and everything was absolutely excellent--easily one of the best steaks I've had among many high-end restaurants. I decided to come here because the new Chase Sapphire Reserve card has a $150 credit for certain restaurants and this was one of the ones on the list--and even though I live about an hour away, it looked like the food would be delicious. For my entree, I went all in with the 45-day dry-aged bone-in ribeye, cooked medium-rare/rare, and it was truly divine due to it being rich, tender, and perfectly cooked. For sides, I ordered the corn creme brulee (which was both unexpected and amazing) and, at Denis's recommendation, the crispy Hasselback potato, which was absolute perfection. I needed a to-go box (obviously) though I was devastated that the choice cream cheese sauce didn't get packed up with it (a small tragedy). This place is extremely over priced. To get an idea, they charge $12 per quarter-size scallop. The food is mediocre at best, and the food quality is not consistent. The sea bass is very bland and not tender, definitely not worth $67 (before tax) per plate. The scallops were not all cooked to the same degree. As for the servers, a lot of the servers have an attitude issue. While not all of them are rude, their service is not worth their mandatory 20% gratuity. Additionally, they have a lot of hidden charges which they never mentioned until we received the bill. The atmosphere is ok, but the music is too loud. This restaurant is more like a dining lounge with night club vibe than fine dining. The food and service are NOT worth the price they charge. I forgot his name, but he was Greek, and he made the dining experience just so much better because of his cherry attitude and jokes, he told us, he made us laugh. I've never been to a restaurant where they literally squeegee the table of crumbs. The restaurant itself is huge, and the vibe is pretty nice, we went for an early dinner so they were playing pop songs at first, and we got to see the transition into evening. Their bathrooms have Japanese toilet seat, seats, and a bidet, the toilet seats warm up and if you use the restroom, you're gonna have to try the bidet. Steak 48 is probably the most beautiful steakhouse I've ever stepped into. The interior feels like a luxury hotel, perfect for celebrating special occasions. The vibe is stunning but still welcoming, making the whole experience feel elevated. The steak was fantastic, cooked to perfection, and the sides were just as impressive. My favorites were the corn crème brûlée, the blistered shishito peppers, and all the different potato options (hasselback, whipped, baked, au gratin) - super hard to choose between which to order! The bread rolls are memorable as well - soft inside, crisp outside, and seriously addictive. Had a fabulous experience celebrating our wedding anniversary here, with kids. Ya'll this restaurant is huge. There's so many dining areas. There's the main floor centered around a hollow square bar. Then there's a section past the host table to the right that's a whole different space. You walk over towards the kitchen, which by the way has glass walls so you can see all the action happening, tables for large parties to the left, and to the left of that were booth tables with glass walls separating each one like a private room with the wine cellar next to it. And then another bar after that. I didn't walk beyond that point but boy, I was already impressed. Now, to the good stuff, the food! Uh, if you'd ask me if I would like a poached egg in my Caesar salad before coming here, I'd look at you weird. But now that I've had Steak 48's Caesar salad- I'm hooked! It's a must have. We had the crispy shrimps , sauce on the side, since it was a little spicy. Wanted the kids to enjoy the shrimp too. We shared a T-bone steak with sautéed broccoli, deeeelish! Then our wonderful server treated us with the sweets, the ultimate warm vanilla cake with homemade whipped cream. My kiddos loved it. I did too! Thus our wonderful experience fine dining with kids. Super excited to finally try this place after hearing so many great things and it absolutely lived up to the hype! First off, I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time and checking their dress code before going. When I pulled up to the valet, I saw a gentleman in a Nike tracksuit get turned away by security, which I honestly appreciated, it showed they take their classy, upscale atmosphere seriously. Once inside, we checked in and were seated right away. From the very start, the service was flawless. One of the gentlemen assisting our lead waiter greeted us immediately, asked if we preferred sparkling or flat water, and brought out their signature bread, which was super tasty. Our lead waiter then came by with the menu and wine/cocktail list, giving great recommendations. We wanted to make sure we had room for everything, and I'm glad we did because every dish was phenomenal. For starters, we had the heirloom tomato topped with crab meat, avocado, and pesto, and the beet salad, which they kindly split onto two plates for us to share. My wife ordered the oysters, which were spectacular. For our main course, we went with the 22-ounce aged ribeye, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. We followed our waiter's suggestion to go just a touch over medium-rare since the steak continues to cook slightly on the hot platter as it's brought to the table. Excellent call! We were also celebrating my wife's birthday, and the staff went above and beyond. They surprised her with a handwritten birthday card and even brought out a complimentary dessert to help us celebrate. Such a thoughtful and personal touch that truly made the night unforgettable. From the elegant ambience to the attentive service and incredible food, everything about this place was top-notch. I honestly can't wait to go back. It was my stepmother's 90th birthday so we pulled out all of the stops. Caviar, champagne, steaks with all of the side dishes, desserts galore, even a little silver tree "growing" beignets. I'm vegetarian so I didn't partake in the steak, but my family was raving about it. The staff were superb. Our server (Andie?) was truly excellent. Knowledgeable, professional, with a down-to-Earth attitude, we loved her. When the food arrived, it was as if Andie were conducting a symphony. I counted six wait staff as they elegantly served all ten of us nearly simultaneously. It was a sight to behold! The only weakness staff wise were the hosts at the desk. The entry is so dimly lit I first thought there was a power outage, except for the music which was too loud. The beautiful hostesses out front seemed lost in a night club. They were more decorative than helpful. That could be fixed with better training. They didn't know where my table was even though some guests had already arrived, so I started roaming around looking for my family. Awkward! Thankfully, the professionalism of everyone after that made me forget the jarring entry fiasco. The service, ambiance and food was beyond excellent. If you are looking for a top tier dining experience, this is the place. Keep in mind, it's a spendy situation, $3k for a dinner for ten people. But we are still talking about how wonderful it was. And I, a vegetarian, am writing nice things about it. If you must eat an animal, honor its sacrifice by going to the very best place you can.
