Last night my family & I had the pleasure of dining at Steak 48 for my sisters birthday. It was a party of 6 with 4 of us being first-time diners. To begin, we were running late to our 8pm reservation. We did call ahead to let them know and the woman who answered the phone (didn't get her name) was very welcoming and accommodating We appreciated that. We were about 30 mins. late and upon arrival we were welcomed and seated immediately. We were seated in the back (I think it's the back) lol , near the kitchen area, in a more private section of the restaurant It was wonderful. the overall experience was a 10/10!!! However, I have to highlight the service that our waiter Paul gave us! WOW! You guys have a super star on your hands! From his warm, welcoming personality , to his witty remarks & stellar expertise on the menu and the different steak cuts you offer. Paul is truly a GEM! We truly enjoyed our experience last night! The entire vibe was through the roof for us! We also enjoyed the restaurant music, which in most establishments is not that great. So who ever was in charge of the music playlist last night, AWESOME JOB! It was so amazing!!!! My table order plenty of appetizers, the crispy shrimp was the best I've ever had. The staff/service was wonderful, they offered different table clothes for lint purposes and were really nice. "The food here is great--probably one of the best steakhouses around--but I am giving them 1 stars due to terrible management and customer discrimination. I hosted a birthday dinner here for my business partner and his family (a party of 12). Since my car was in the shop and I couldn't get an Uber from Malibu, I drove my son's electric Honda. As soon as the door staff saw me pull up in the Honda, the bouncer stopped me and claimed my pants violated the dress code as 'sportswear.' My pants were actually high-end, designer Hugo Boss casual trousers. I even showed him the label, but he refused to listen and radioed the manager. Without even looking at my pants properly in the dimly lit entrance, the manager literally began feeling the fabric of my pants to determine whether I could enter. At the exact same time, other guests wearing shorts and sandals were allowed straight into the restaurant. When I called out the double standard, the manager claimed they were wearing 'dress shorts' and were 'long-time customers.' It was only when I offered to go inside to gather my party of 12 so we could take our business elsewhere that the manager suddenly changed his tone and said he'd 'let it slide this time.' There will not be a next time for me at Steak 48. Between the overpriced food, automatic 20% service fee, and outright discriminatory treatment at the door, they have lost a customer for good." read more

Excellent dining experience! Even though we arrived a little late, the restaurant was very accommodating and made us feel welcome. The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish was full of flavor. Our waiter, Paul Travisano, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive throughout our meal, and provided outstanding service. His recommendations were spot on and truly made our experience even better. This was my second time coming here. First time wasn't as good, but my girlfriend and I decided to give it another shot. Overall a solid meal and we'd go back for sure. Food: 4/5 Food was really good! We got a bone in rib eye, Caesar salad, heirloom tomato salad and braised pork belly. And they of course give you the best complimentary bread. I'd go back just for the bread! So good! The steak was cooked ok, not great. But not as bad as the first time we went. The pork belly was tender and flavorful. I love the Caesar salad! The croutons are so good! And the heirloom tomato salad was basically two tomato's cut into four pieces with some feta. Not sure if that's what a normal heirloom tomato salad is, but I was expecting more. But overall a good meal. Service 3/5: our server did well, but the manager would come out to talk to only one table and was basically their second server and would walk right past us like we were invisible. Not sure if we weren't exclusive or wealthy enough to deserve a hello or any type of attention. We tried Steak 48 as part of the chase sapphire reserve curated dining list. It is nice steak house located in Beverly Hills. We were able to find street parking in the neighborhood and walked a short distance to the restaurant. This was our first time there so we ordered a lot, and we left very full and satisfied. A nice steak house and glad we got to try a lot of dishes. Our server was helpful and provided us with a free order of mashed potatoes and a bottle of wine due to a mix up that happened with the one we ordered. Overall a very good experience and a solid steak house if you're looking for somewhere to have a nice dinner and/or celebrate a special occasion. We tried the bone in ribeye and dry aged ribeye. I honestly enjoyed the bone in ribeye more. The seabass was underwhelming, I would stick to the red meat here. The crab and shells, corn, and potatoes gratin were my favorites of the sides. The calamari and beef tartar were both good starters as well. A lot to choose from the menu! They also gave us a free dessert as we were celebrating a birthday. We dined here for a celebratory meal. Parking was easy at the adjoining lot and we got our table within 15 minutes of checkin in - Thankfully , We had a reservation. The place is really lively and busy. We were seated in a nice personal booth. Server was very courteous and helpful in making good recommendations. They started us off with a complimentary bread - which was good. We got the Beet Salad which was very good too. The drinks are also awesome here. For Appetizers , We got the Crispy Shrimp, Yellowtail - Both were excellent and highly recommended. For the main course, We opted for RibEye and the Branzino. Branzino was very good. However, The Ribeye was over-cooked and not the way I would've liked. However, this being the last order of the day and too close to finish time, we could't have it changed. Disappointed that I couldn't enjoy my steak but everything else was great. Chocolate Dessert towards the end of meal was one of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had. Excellent, modern upscale steakhouse with wonderful food and service. The chicken fried lobster tails were a must. Ambiance was top notch. Paid parking lot (no validation) or valet parking available. Their signature heated plates were unique (the food still sears while you eat it) and a cool experience. Food- 5 stars Fresh bread- started the meal with their complimentary bread which was basically a much better version of a King's Hawaiian bread roll Chicken fried lobster tail- this dish got better and better as I kept eating it. Perfectly fried without the lobster meat getting too dry. Definitely coming back for this Caesar salad- really good and the poached egg on top really solidified the dish. You can really taste the quality ingredients Ribeye- I enjoyed having our entrees on their extremely hot heated plates, as the meat stayed warm. My only compliant with the ribeye was that it was slightly more chewy than what I expect from a prime cut Au gratin potatoes and wild mushrooms- excellently done, and the heated plates keep it warm and tasty Triple chocolate bombe- their signature dessert. The food was pretty good, but the service was bad and the ambience tries too hard. I'll start with the good: the Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs ($24) were one of the best things I've had in ages. A perfect bite with crunch and flavor. The complimentary bread is served in a skillet with a crispy buttered top. I would just eat the too off that bread all day. I do feel like a lot of bread goes to waste likely judging from the people around me. The steak was good. Was it $85 good? Dunno. I ordered a petite filet and the server brought me the bone in aged ribeye which was much more expensive. I didnt complain because i had somewhere to be and it wasnt such a big mistake that i was going to die. But the service overall was terrible for a restaurant at this price point. The server forgot to give me back the food i asked to have wrapped up. I had to ask her for it. The menu took a long time to arrive. The service was sort of strangely stuffy but not professional at the same time. And if you walked to the bathroom get ready for speeding waiters to whisk around you like you're at a carnival. The bathrooms were way too dark - i get having the restaurant be too dark but the bathrooms should have enough light to see. Also a bathroom concierge had to let you know when one was available. And the worst was that as I was leaving the door guy was turning away a nicely dressed black man who was wearing a black sweater and discreet black leggings. I overheard him being told that sweatpants aren't allowed and I would have called it athleisurewear but they were black and not very gym bro like. I saw other people dressed much worse than him inside so it felt a little overly punitive and gives me all the bad vibes of what I think Beverly Hills can represent. read more

It's Tuesday night and we came for dinner. It's just amazing that the restaurant was pretty packed for a weeknight. The server brought us to our table right away. I love the luxurious and romantic vibe. We were seated in a booth overseeing the kitchen. How fun! The server came and introduced the menu. He recommended some popular appetizers and entrees. We had the crispy shrimp for appetizers, roasted Brussels sprouts. The dinner rolls were very special and delicious. For entree, we ordered the petit filet mignon and scallops. I went in with just average expectations. We were there to celebrate a birthday, it was a restaurant my son had heard about (he's 13), and we made reservations and went. With every course we went from, "hey...this is good..." to "...oh, this might be a new place for us ..." to " this is our place and we are coming back soon!" Mid meal I started making a list in my notes app of what we wanted to try and re-order next visit. So, that notes app includes ... superfood salad, any steak specials they offer, lobster escargot, and all the desserts. We had decided on our entrees when we heard the specials and ordered one or two of those steaks at MP (shown in receipt). The restaurant is gorgeous, the bathrooms and bathroom attendant are amazing, they're serious about their dress code, and (don't kill me but) the bread tastes like Pillsbury crescent rolls. The rib eye, filet mignon, mac and cheese, crème brûlée corn, fried shrimp and sauté shrimp was predictable bliss. I was sad I forgot to order the black peppercorn sauce!!! My wife and I are back at it. We came for my birthday, Father's Day, and our anniversary celebration . I didn't get the New York strip, I got the Kansas City strip. My wife ordered the ribeye, and we had the key lime pie. We just liked sitting at the kitchen suites. Our waiter, Amari, was on point. Henry was there again. We came here to celebrate a special occasion and had a wonderful dinner with excellent service. I highly recommend the Wagyu--either the A5 or the New York strip. Both were cooked perfectly. The chilled crab legs were delicious, served with drawn butter, horseradish, and a variety of dipping sauces. For sides, the mashed potatoes and mushrooms were both outstanding. The house bread they start you off with is super good, very buttery but tasty, and will definitely fill you up so I recommend only eating one The 48 Caesar with the poached egg was great, with the perfect amount of dressing. They brought it out pre-split into two plates, which was super nice - they did this for the steak too. The filet mignon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. For sides we got the crispy fries, sautéed mushrooms, and shells and cheese. All were fantastic although we definitely could've ordered one less side. We were here for my husband's birthday and they give you any dessert on the house. Thought this was nice, especially since most places have a set dessert for birthdays/celebrations. We got the key lime pie, which is massive!!!, and was the perfect amount of lime-yness. There's a parking lot next door which is $15 max. Entrance is from S Bedford Dr. The restaurant also has valet. We have just been to Ocean 48 a couple of weeks before to celebrate our anniversary and now trying Steak 48. But this time to celebrate a birthday. We loved Ocean 48 and we loved Steak 48 too! We enjoyed almost everything that we ordered, except for the Au Gratin Potatoes. It was still good but perhaps something we won't be ordering next time . We really enjoyed the Bone-In Ribeye 22oz which was cooked to perfection! The Pacifc Yellowtail Hamachi was so good as well! The Creamy Mac & Cheese was surprisingly good! We also enjoyed the Roasted Brussels Sprouts. Also one of our faves, the free bread that comes in the mini cast iron. Flaky/crispy outside but soft and buttery inside! I decided to come here because the new Chase Sapphire Reserve card has a $150 credit for certain restaurants and this was one of the ones on the list--and even though I live about an hour away, it looked like the food would be delicious. Had a phenomenal experience being my first time at Steak 48. Just went for a random date night during the week, and everything was fantastic. Ambience of the restaurant is obviously very upscale, but the vibe was more relaxed with the friendly staff and the upbeat and fun music. Cary was our server and he was the best. Extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu and he just made sure we were happy at all times. My partner has Celiac disease, so Cary was very knowledgeable about what items were gluten free, or could/couldn't be made gluten free. The food was amazing as well. My boyfriend and I decided to give this place another shot for date night after a disappointing first try. The first time we visited, we felt the food was not up to par with the price point as the steak was not cooked well and the rest of the food came under seasoned. This time around, we ordered the same steak as last time-- bone-in ribeye, as well as the 48 caesar salad, heirloom tomato salad, and the braised pork belly. One thing we did specifically ask for were room temperature serving plates. The last time we came, our steaks overcooked so much on the 500 degree serving plates that it became too tough to eat and not having our plates overcook the steak made a huge difference. The food was definitely much better compared to the first time we visited which leads me to believe that maybe it was unfortunately just a bad night of service the first time we visited. Although it still does not top my list of best steakhouses, Steak 48 has definitely redeemed itself from the last time we visited and I would recommend it to anyone looking for upscale dinner vibes. read more

I celebrated my birthday at Steak 48 in late December and let me tell you... this was a full on treat yo'self experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed, celebrated, and taken care of all evening!!! My server, Denis, was incredible. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and dialed in on making sure I had the best meal. I started with a spectacular mocktail (always appreciated) and immediately fell in love with the warm bread which was so dangerously good I nearly filled up from the bread alone! For my entree, I went all in with the 45-day dry-aged bone-in ribeye, cooked medium-rare/rare, and it was truly divine due to it being rich, tender, and perfectly cooked. For sides, I ordered the corn creme brulee (which was both unexpected and amazing) and, at Denis's recommendation, the crispy Hasselback potato, which was absolute perfection. I needed a to-go box (obviously) though I was devastated that the choice cream cheese sauce didn't get packed up with it (a small tragedy). Since they knew it was my birthday, I was treated to a complimentary dessert, and I chose the red velvet bread pudding, which was the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal. Pinnacle of service for a restaurant. Cary was, simply put, spectacular. Valet is quite simple, check in with the hostess is easy. The place on a Thursday night was much more crowded than expected. I made reservations 3 weeks in advance, the night before my reservation, I called Steak 48 to see if they can add one more person to the reservation and Karin was wonderful and was able to work her magic, thank you Karin!! When the server took our order, I already had a list for him, which was a surprise to him on how prepared I was and probably didn't expect us to order so much for 2 people. 1. complimentary bread 5/5- super bomb for free bread, hint of sweetness, perfect golden brown delicious, croissant texture but still soft. 2. Prime steakhouse meatballs- 5/5- Tbh I was surprised the meatballs was actually really good, I was thinking oh its juts meatballs, but nooo its not, not all meatballs are the same. the prime steakhouse meatballs was huge, tender, so juicy and flavorful. The bacon was huge chunks, not crispy, I prefer small and crispy bacon instead of chunks, at one point I had to use a knife to chop up the bacon. 6. corn crème brulee 5/5- this dish was surprisingly bomb, the caramelized sugar gave it a great texture and crunch. the sweetness from it was balanced with the creamy of the corn. tasted great with the steak n mac n cheese. Such a unique dish, I would order this again, if you don't like sweet, this might not before you. 7. 45 dry aged rib eye w/ truffle butter & crispy shrimp 6/5 score!!! omg the 45 days dry age ribeye was to die for! Super tender, great beefy flavor, huge, perfectly cooked medium rare, hands down one of the best steak I've had recently. I also got it with truffle butter and crispy shrimp, I can do without both enhancement next time, the 45 dry aged ribeye was the Star and doesn't need enhancement. It's been a while since I've been to a restaurant where the bartenders and the waitstaff are super attentive. It's a lost art and when a place is able to do that, you know that it's adequately staffed and that the owners actually care about their brand. And that's how your place becomes a fan favorite. The first thing that caught my eye was their wine list. This is the 2nd restaurant I've been to where their by the glass options are exceptional imho. I like switching up what I'm imbibing in, so this was very fitting. I ended up having the lobster escargot and caviar cones, along with many great cocktails and vinos during my 3-hour splurge. We ate here last month and came back again last night for my birthday, and once again, we were not disappointed. From the valet and doorman to the hosts, bartenders, servers, runners, the GM Joshua, and the entire staff, the service was exceptional. Everyone was polite, professional, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. On our first visit, we walked in on a busy weekend without a reservation, and Joshua went out of his way to work us in and get us a table so we could enjoy dinner. That level of hospitality really stood out. On our most recent visit, we weren't happy with the table options that were initially available, so we decided to wait at the bar and have a drink. The staff (Sara) couldn't have handled it better. They came over with a smile, kept us updated on the next available tables, and never once made us feel like we were being difficult. Sara ended up getting us a great table, and the entire experience was handled with kindness and professionalism. To be honest, we're pretty picky, especially about where we sit, and she was incredibly patient, friendly, and accommodating throughout the evening. The food was outstanding. One thing I really appreciate is that everything comes out sizzling hot, exactly the way it should. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the au gratin potatoes were absolutely delicious. Overall, the quality was top-notch. You truly get what you pay for here. Service is a huge deal to us, and Steak 48 consistently delivers. We had a reservation for two for a dinner date at Steak 48, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. From valet to the entrance, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Everyone was impeccably dressed, which added to the upscale and elegant atmosphere inside. We ordered NY strip, petit fillet mignon, loaded baked potato and creamy spinach artichoke, and everything was absolutely excellent--easily one of the best steaks I've had among many high-end restaurants. The quality and flavor really stood out. A surprising highlight was their cinnamon roll dessert--unique, not overly sweet, and definitely my favorite! What truly impressed me was their attention to detail--they even followed up the next day with a call to ask about our experience. That level of service really sets them apart.
