MUST TRY this new Mexican seafood grill in West Hollywood!! The food is excellent particularly the uber fresh ceviches, and the branzino just wow! I was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes for the cost! Portion sizes in most places have gone down while the cost has risen, but not here! Very high value for the money. We also had dessert and the tres leches cake is out of this world! Also the grilled chicken is just exceptional! I haven't been blown away by anyone's chicken in a long time. It's juicy and tender and the smokiness from the grill is so intoxicating. The service was excellent as well, Erica was a delight and so attentive! Highly recommend this place I've been back three times in two months!

    Short rib tacos were AMAZING!!

Street meter parking. Amazing service by Cassandra! We had some fresh oysters, Baja fish, tacos, and the short rib tacos. They were all so amazing! For tacos were both flavored and had a great texture. It was not overcooked or rubbery at all. The Baja fish tacos were light and flaky. They were the best tacos we had ever eaten. And that's saying a lot since we eat at many different places for tacos. We will be coming back again!

Fantastic experience tonight for their Grand Opening Party. Parking was easily found around the corner and the atmosphere was very welcoming. They had a big balloon display outside with a red carpet as well as a ribbon cutting ceremony and a dj. Inside the tables were first come first served. My husband and I were able to easily find one. Since they were hosting this party all the food and drinks were included. We easily figured out the layout of the restaurant and everything went smoothly from then on. There was a bar on one side where you could order alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. The bar also had an area for self-serve chips, salsa and guacamole. On the other side of the bar was another self-serve raw seafood station. They had oysters, scallops, uni, etc. The kitchen was an open concept where you could walk up or stand nearby to watch the chefs cooking. The staff were all so friendly and the hospitality was fantastic. Now for all the tables - the best part was the waitresses and waiters would walk around with all the food and bring it straight to you. I can't even count the amount of food we ate but every single dish was so satisfying! We had several versions of tacos including short rib, ribeye, shrimp, fish and octopus. We also has tostadas, shrimp cocktails, etc. This went on for three entire hours to the point where we both left completely stuffed! During the event there was a raffle and several announcements introducing the staff as this a family-run restaurant. Overall it was a great event and I can't wait to be back!

Talk about artisan Mexican Food the four brothers that own this place are from Oaxaca and they also own red fish, which is a sushi/Mexican place everything that they have there is made in house from their tortillas to their salsa to everything that's pickled their dessert their short ribs were amazing. They were slow roasted even stuff that is as simple as the cheese quesadillas were so good. The tortillas were made fresh there and they use fresh cheese. The guacamole is made there. The shrimp ceviche is out of this world and then they have three homemade hot sauces that they make delicious if you're gonna go for dessert try their Tres leches. It is probably the best I've ever tried.

9/3/2025 - This is a newly opened Mexican Grill, which specializes in seafood, two months ago. The staff are friendly and working hard to make every customer happy. Looking at the fresh seafood display lead me think this is an upscale seafood restaurant in Los Angeles, e.g., the live Uni is so good and fresh, which is very difficult to find in LA. If you like sweet, try this Tres Leches, a 5-star desert. The street paid parking in front of the restaurant is available, but no parking between 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. At present, no Happy Hour and WiFi are available in the restaurant.

Free samples outside! Blue fin tuna ceviche. They also offered lemonade.

Apparently new to the neighborhood, specializing in seafood. I walked by and they offered free samples of their lemonade and their blue fin tuna ceviche. Super friendly folks! Metered parking right out front.

This place deserves more patrons. Everything we've had here so far has been incredible, especially the ceviche. It's some of the best we've had. I can't recommend Dos Amantes enough.

We stopped in for lunch on a whim and ended up having some of the best Mexican food we've had. We tried a kanpachi ceviche, fish taco, tuna tostada, scallop aguachile and chicken quesadilla and everything was outstanding. We learned that the chef used to work at Holbox and honestly, while I do enjoy Holbox, I definitely preferred the food at Dos Amantes. I can't wait to return!

Came in randomly for lunch on a Tuesday, the whole restaurant looks awesome, the restaurant is new so they still had no alcohol but I was able to grab some food. The quality of the seafood I had, has to be some of the best in LA. I ordered the Kanpachi Tostada, Baja Fish taco and the taco de pulpo (not pictured because I destroyed it before remembering to take a pic....) But everything was so good, the sofrito in the octopus taco is so addictive, the salsas that come with it are so spicy but you just can't stop eating it. Everything was so good, and while I was having a conversation with the host/owner the chef sent out and extra taco for me to try, I really appreciate rhetorical hospitality shown by the owners and the chef! Will definitely come back to have a drink or two or 4 when you guys get that liquor license!

This place is amazing! It has recently opened in the neighborhood and the food is delicious. The ceviche was fresh, branzino was great, and they make their tres leches desert in house. I will definitely come back for more dinners! The inside looks very nice and you can see chefs working in the kitchen. Our server was great, he gave good suggestions on the menu and was very attentive the entire night. It's a great spot for dates and family/friends dinners.

Stumbled across this restaurant whilst visiting Magnolia Bakery. After a sweet treat, my husband and I figured we should grab something a little more savory and filling. We picked the perfect spot! My husband had the shrimp taco and the tostada mixta. The shrimp were perfectly battered and fried. So picturesque and tasty!!! The octopus in the tostada was tender. Cooked just right. I feel like most restaurants hit or miss with octopus. I had the pescado a la leña. Smoked branzino served with rice, black beans, avocado and a zesty, grape tomato/picked onion salad. I also grabbed a watermelon mint julep mocktail. 10/10. It's very rare for me to enjoy everything I've order at a restaurant. Something's always a miss. I wasn't disappointed and will be returning with my in-laws!!! As for the aesthetic of the restaurant, I can't complain. From the furnishing, down to the plates and cutlery...everything fits the menu so well. The host that helped us was personable and polite. She answered all our questions and was accommodating. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Discovered this place by accident. There isn't any seafood restaurant in west Los Angeles that serve this level of assortment of clean, fresh, simple and delicious lemony savory seafood. Service is incredible and prices are reasonable. My boyfriend and I have made this our weekly outing because of their Baja shrimp tacos. They are unreal! Location is great super accessible and close to magnolia. Good days spot. Our second favorites are the short rib quesadilla and tuna ceviche.

The entire staff was incredibly kind, and the manager, Luis, was very attentive, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. The food is beyond amazing -- everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Since my first visit I have come back multiple times, and have received outstanding service each time. I came on Valentine's Day and it was beautifully decorated. It was also EXTREMELY BUSY, and again, Luis stepped up and became the backbone for his staff. From hosting, serving, bartending, and working hard to make everything flow smoothly. I have such a wonderful experience each time I come, not only with the food but also with the manager and staff. The restaurant is very clean, which makes the atmosphere even more enjoyable. No matter the time or how busy it is, my food comes out in a reasonable amount of time, and nothing ever feels rushed or forgotten. What really stood out to me was how much the manager seems to genuinely care about both the staff and the overall environment. He was constantly moving around, checking in on everyone, making sure guests are happy and that his team is doing okay as well. It's really warming to see that level of dedication and leadership. Overall, this is one of my new favorite places to come due to my positive and memorable experiences. Great food, amazing service, and such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent customer service. We started with the octopus, which was super tender (not rubbery at all ) and paired really nicely with fresh avocado, herbs, and a light citrusy kick. Definitely one of the better octopus dishes I've had. The shrimp empanadas were crispy, golden, and packed with flavor. Topped with crema, avocado sauce, and fresh onions, they had the perfect balance of crunchy + creamy + tangy. Loved that they were stuffed full or shrimp and not greasy. For the main, the steak fajita dish came with sautéed peppers and onions, a roasted pepper, creamy beans, and guac on the side. The steak had a nice char and good seasoning, and everything on the plate complemented each other really well. The fajitas were cooked to perfection. My sisters ordered the Branzino and chicken quesadillas and Agua chile. The fish was cooked perfectly and didn't come out tasting too fishy and the quesadillas were stuffed with chicken. An evening here feels, at first, like an invitation into something refined--dim lighting, polished interiors, and a menu that promises indulgence. The mole poblano delivered beautifully: rich, layered, and deeply satisfying. The ahi tuna ceviche followed with freshness and elegance, showcasing the kitchen's true capability. However, not every detail carried that same intention. The guacamole lacked depth and seasoning--unexpected for a restaurant at this level. But the most defining part of the experience happens before you even sit down. With valet as the only real parking option (approximately $35), guests are required to wait outside in a crowded, unpredictable environment. During my visit, the atmosphere felt chaotic and, at times, unsafe. What stood out most was the absence of a consistent, visible security presence at the entrance. For a restaurant of this caliber, a dedicated security guard stationed at the entrance should be standard--not optional. Managing the valet flow, maintaining order, and most importantly ensuring guests feel safe and comfortable should be part of the experience. Javier's delivers moments of excellence on the plate--but true luxury is holistic. It's not just what you serve, it's how you protect, welcome, and elevate your guests from the very first step.

Let's start with the margarita I got, I did not taste any alcohol in it (and I cannot have strong drinks! So that can tell you a lot) not worth $18. We basically paid for an expensive agua fresca! Then I ordered the carne asada skewers. The first bite was okay, not very flavorful, but I thought I could just finish it. As I go through the meat, I notice so much fat and very little meat. I grab another piece and bite into it, I start chewing and realize that it tasted like raw meat (with a hint taste of raw meat that spent too much time in the fridge) I immediately got nauseous and spit it out on a napkin. I told our server and he asked me what else I would like. I then ordered the fish tacos, he brought it out in less than 5 minutes (kind of fast if you ask me) I try a small piece of the fish and it wasn't bad, I give a piece to my friend and she only got fat. Why is there fat in my fish tacos! I tried to pick through it so I could atleast get full, but I couldn't do it. The server came to pick up our plates and asked me if I didn't like the tacos, I said no but that's okay don't worry about it. I was so disappointed because I was starving. My friend ordered the rib eye tacos and had to pick through it too because most of it was fat. The only good thing that happened was that our server did not charge me for the two plates that I didn't eat. We thanked him, paid the check and left. Unfortunately, this was not the best food and we were excited to eat and celebrate my birthday.
