I got sucked in by the ads to try to flat white and the barista told me what exactly it was and then asked if I wanted to use one of the non-to-go mugs. I was staying for a bit so I opted for it. She then asked if I wanted a foam cat instead of the boring drop. I opted for that too. The cat was pretty cute and she said she was trying to get better at it. Pretty cool for Starbucks. This is a decidedly unique Starbucks experience. For one thing, it is one of the only drive through Starbucks in the area. Secondly, the layout of the parking lot, juxtaposed near the busy T intersection of Rosemead Boulevard and Del Mar, adds to the danger and intrigue of entry and exit from this location. Challenge accepted! Like any Starbucks, a potential coffee buyer needs to carefully weigh his or her options, with respect to the time of day, seasonal offerings, weather patterns, solar and lunar positions... You get the idea. My guess is that if you try to come here at 8 AM on Wednesday you're just looking for trouble. But if, like me, you find that you need a little afternoon pick me up around 4 PM? ...well, you're probably not going to find much of a line. I have never actually parked here and walked into the store. Exclusively, or use the drive-through. And for the most part, the service is speedy, and accurate. I have actually never had a stinker person helping me at the window. They are always extremely friendly. Truth be told, I miss the Naugles fast food place that used to be at this location. Great location with plenty of parking! Jessica (staff) was very kind and cheerful. She was wiping down tables and tidying up while checking in with customers if they needed anything. Drive thru is completed in a very timely manner. If you're in a big hurry, put your mobile order in and park to pick it up. It's much quicker than drive through if you know exactly what u want and have to drive here anyways. There are plenty of tables for people to work and study. Few outlets. Outlets are more ok the floor for the big communal table and wall seats. Very clean store! Ps 10cents off when you bring your own tumbler in for drinks! read more

Mobile pick up hours are random. I always leave home for work at the same time and sometimes the store itself open for mobile pick ups and sometimes it's closed. I once had to leave without my order and call customer service for refund ( the drive through line was too long) This morning it was closed and luckily the line wasn't too bad so I asked the girl at the pick up window about opening hours and wasn't able to clearly answer me and was rather rude/dismissive. read more

I never knew a drive through experience can be this bad. Waited 5 minutes for someone to even take my order. When the worker finally spoke they asked if I still wanted what I ordered and I told them, that I didn't even order yet. The worker was very confused. Nonetheless, I was able to place my order and drove forward to the pick up window. This is where things got worse. The worker did not know what I ordered. He asked me if I got the drinks on his screen and I explained to him no. He then scrolled through some other orders and it was still not my order. What confuses me the most is how they lost my order from the order window to the pick up window. I retold him what I ordered and when everything was finally settled, my drinks were only 60% filled.... this has never happened to me at any Starbucks. I am so confused as to how all the workers got everything wrong. The same thing happened to the car in front of me and they simply didn't have time to wait for them to remake her order. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and maybe it is the computers fault? But the whole experience was terrible and wasted way too much time. read more

From the sound amplified interior echo chamber of a mini dining room that is literally 3 times louder than standing outside next to busy traffic. 180 decibels between the clanging clamor of espresso machines, mixers, pots and screaming barristas mix with the latest barrage of low quality sound YET high level volume output of corporate controlled music makes it completely uncomfortable. Forget having a conversation. Forget a phone call. Forget mediation while drinking a latte. Forget all of that. Coming to Starbucks now takes MORE energy to experience than it alleviates. And it's all from greedy corporate decisions handed out to these franchises. From the durable and hard chairs designed as if they were intended for a prison--to the windows that purposefully face into the sun, while the work stations are shielded. I could go on and on. Corporate wants a quick turnover for guests to drink, eat, and then feel like they have to get the hell out. Forget being a writer: forget reading anything. Forget having a reunion. If you are going northbound on Rosemead Boulevard, I would park on the street before Starbucks' first driveway. This way you won't get stuck in their congested parking lot. You'll be lucky if you find parking in their lot. If you plan to use their drive thru, I would enter their second driveway, because if you don't you'll be hoping that the person that entered the second driveway is courteous enough to let you in. You really can't make a mistake purchasing Starbucks beverages, since they just follow the recipes. The employees are very nice. read more

Stopped here at 6:15 AM on July 4th to grab some coffee before heading back home to Las Vegas. This coffeehouse sits in a little parking lot next to a residential area. First thing I heard when turning into the parking lot was the sound of an early-morning peacock calling. But as I proceeded to the drive-thru this natural sound was replaced by awful piped-in music coming from outdoor speakers in the patio area. It was awful. It's as if Starbucks has gone to war with silence or natural sounds. It is insistent on creating this plastic and superficial audio theme park environment. Even sitting outside provides no escape. I feel sorry for their neighbors. Starbucks's colors may be green, but it's philosophy is anything but nature-loving. It is all commercial, like the non-stop barrage of plastic music they literally force on their customers. read more

I love Starbucks. I used to drink iced coffees by the ton, but have switched to the Iced Green Tea Lemonade and always get the "Trenta" size. This location has a drive-thru and my husband and/or I go frequently. For some reason, this location seems to make more mistakes than others. Perhaps it's a training store, but this is the only location that messes up my drink and gives me a plain Iced Green Tea instead of the Iced Green Tea Lemonade. It's happened like 4 times. Tonight, we ordered two of the same drink and it happened again. We had already gone home and had to go drive back to the store. The manager/lead tonight repeated that he "apologizes for the inconvenience" and handed me the drinks. I asked if they gave those cards that give a compensation drink when there is a mistake, but he said those are only for those who don't have time to get their drink fixed, but since I came back, he gave me the fixed drinks, so I don't qualify. I don't really understand that policy, because it's even *more* inconvenient to go back to the store after you've ordered and they give you the wrong drink. I think it may be those printed labels. It says, "Trn Grn Icd Tea Lem," which means Trenta Green Iced Tea Lemonade. If I was a new barista and in a hurry, I may not see the end. The way when they write it with a Sharpie is "GTL," on the Trenta cup itself. Green Tea Lemonade. So much easier! I will try to attach a picture. In the picture comparing the two drinks (wrong drink & correct drink) you can see the color that is different and the plain tea is obvious. The positive is that the drive-thru staff is usually cheerful and very friendly. I will still go to this Starbucks, but I think I will look at/taste my drink every single time from now on, just in case. read more

Honestly, I never saw myself writing a review for Starbucks but here I am. I go through phases with my coffee and order different variations of the same drink until I get tired of it. Since I order the same drink EVERY SINGLE TIME, I very obviously know when it's not made right. I ordered a Starbucks Double Shot on ice and I subbed out the classic for white mocha and added half and half. When I got my drink I realized there was no sweetener in it. Tbh I couldn't even taste the coffee. Just straight up bitter water. I had to drive all the way back to get another drink, as I went through the drive thru. I told the girl at the register my drink wasn't made right, specifically that it had no sweetener. She then asks me what I want, and gets very argumentative asking me all these technical questions about the drink and having it shaken. Idk, you work at Starbucks, not me. No one, at any other Starbucks, has had an issue making my drink, nor have they asked me some technical question about the drink. I just wanted some sweetener lady! Just make what I ordered, if I wanted a regular double shot, I would have specified. I feel like she made it into a bigger deal than it was and honestly almost made me feel a little stupid. Little frustrated with this location. They have a sign for the drive through saying you can pick up mobile orders through there. So we made a mobile order (2 cold brews - pretty ez), told the girl at the intercom, she said np they'd have it ready at the window, waited, made it to the window just to have her tell us to park and come in. So we do. The drinks are sitting right there ready to go. I ask another worker why we had to come in, she said they weren't ready, and it's hard when we place a mobile order at the last minute. They both came off as very dismissive and rude. What would the difference be if I placed the order at the intercom opposed to the mobile order - which your sign suggested I do? There were also several cars ahead of us, so the mobile order offered more notice, and I confirmed that the barista saw our order at the intercom anyway. Not to mention our drinks take 30seconds to make. Just a lame experience, at least apologize for the inconvenience - especially because they made our drinks wrong. Light cream shouldn't look like milk. W/e they were pretty busy so I get it, but still rating based on my experience. read more

If you walk into this location, then you have an excellent chance of your order being made correctly. The drive thru isn't as accurate. Not sure what the difference is since it is the same people making the drinks, but there does seem to be a definite difference. Let's get real though, this is mainly a drive thru location, so the need for accuracy is high. She seemed bother by this even though it wasn't my fault. She then proceeds to give me a decaf coffee when I didn't ask for one, so I asked if I could get a caffeinated one. Crew has changed from when we use to come a lot. Lots of people hang out and squat doing home work and what ever they are doing on laptops and mobile devices. Crew is good here, pretty fast but not as fast as the old crew I knew. Still good and consistent. They're all friendly and nice. Parking here is a nightmare so it gets a star taken off but otherwise it's a nice one when you can get a seat. read more

This is a cute little Starbucks shop, stopped here to rest from driving. Bought a cool cup here, but they messed up on my drink twice, they didn't have soy milk in stock, charged me for it, refunded me back, I didn't receive a receipt here for merchandise as they ran out of receipt paper. It was not the best experience here. I ordered a Chai Tea Latte, and even after the second time it was remade, with no water... it was diluted and didn't even taste like the drink I would buy at other location. Not sure if it was just a bad day but didn't have the best experience mostly due to inconsistency and the fact that they were out of supplies on basic things. At least they made an effort to remake the drink, but I didn't want to complain anymore, took my tasteless latte and left. read more

If I could I would give 0 stars.....Sometimes they close without updating online. They aren't professional. Last time I went the man who took my order was busy goofing around with his coworkers and got my order wrong 2x and charged me wrong and then proceeded to try to charge me another 80cents...other locations wouldn't have done that since they made the mistakes. Once given my drink they forgot the sweet cream foam so I tried to alert a worker...all were happily laughing cleaning up I honked my horn multiple times and knocked on the window that they were near...pretty sure they were ignoring me because when I had to physically get out of my car to bang on the window at the drive thru. When they get an order wrong they're supposed to remake the drink. They didn't they just added what was missing and left. There's no way they didn't hear me the first time because I could easily hear what they were talking about through the window, it's not sound proof. read more

I frequent Starbucks about 3-5 times a month. I have the app and love it. So convenient to redeem rewards and pay. First time at this Pasadena location, I ordered the Caramel Macchiato and my son ordered the Strawberries & Creme Frappucino. There were cars in the drive thru, and two orders ahead of me, but it took 15 minutes to get our drinks. That's a little long to wait, at 2pm. Thankfully we were not in a hurry, but usually I am. I didn't know that if you ask for coconut milk that it was 60 cents extra for a Grande. She didn't tell me. Just added it. No receipt was offered.
