This happened a little while back but worthy of mention. Got two cups of coffee and asked for milk on the side for the coffee. Was given a small amount, and I told the employee I needed some more. Employee states this was the amount that Starbucks provided, and it was company policy. I was surprised and told the employee I used more milk in my coffee. They wouldn't give me more. I asked for the manager, she was behind the counter and told me the same thing, she was not pleasant. Well, for 3 ounces of milk they lost a customer. Haven't been there since. Clean store, friendly barrista's and a good selection of drinks. Parking can be hit or miss, depending on the time of day. I do appreciate that the meters don't kick in until 9 am, so I can fill my body with caffeine and not feed the meter with coins. Montrose is a great little street to walk on throughout the year. Having a Starbucks in the center of it is a great addition. I hope to see the continued success of the shops on Honolulu, and Montrose / La Cresenta continue to thrive. read more

Recently I went to Starbucks store and unfortunately I forgot my mask and was happy to go there, because I remember there was some masks, that I can buy. I didn't even enter the facility, just opened the door, for everyone's safety, was 6 feet behind from all other customers, and just asked if they have masks for selling. But one of the workers named Rebecca was very rude and just shout loud that I need to live the store and non-stop repeat the same thing ,,you can't enter the store,,. I came in to enjoy my usual coffee; and I was approached by a wonderful barista name Cosmic. I was informed by cosmic the new drink called Oleato, and was amazed at how delicious it was. Cosmic described in detail the flavor, where its from, the different ways I could have it: And, I could get it in decaf. I can't describe what a fantastic experience I had, because of Cosmic. The entire staff was friendly, nice, and professional. I truly had an awesome experience at the Montrose location. Solid Starbucks. The employees are always helpful and friendly even though foot traffic is high and it does get super busy. I wouldn't say this particular Starbucks makes a great study location, though, because it is FREEZING. Cons: The United Airlines of coffee. Rude/curt/snobby service, employee drama playing out on floor, dark lighting that reflects the dark vibe of this location. To be fair: Baristas often face tremendous pressure from corporate, low pay, low staffing, and very demanding customers. That being said, every time I visit this store has been a negative experience where I'm treated like an inconvenience. To be honest, I'm never a fan of really busy starbucks stores. I avoid them because I have to wait for a cool 10 minutes; especially at this location. Today it was fast surprisingly but usually this place is in the heart of Montrose. Lots of people do stop by here. I personally do love starbucks! Their iced green latte's are the best ones ever! Their coffee is okay and their frapp's(iced blended drinks) are one of a kind. This starbucks hasnt been around for a long time so its very clean indoors and outdoors. They have a few tables outside facing honolulu which is very convenient for coffee dates or even studying. Personally, I would say that the problem is the wait. I feel as though on their busy hours they are short staffed and may need 4 or even 5 people working at a time! I work around the area so here and there i do grab coffee and such but I do make sure I have enough time to park and get my drink! read more

Today was a rough day. I found out a friend of mine from high school committed suicide, leaving behind his wife, also a friend, and their two year old son. I spent most of the day crying and all I wanted was a pick-me-up. My bf drove me around Glendale and I wanted a drink so we stopped here. I loved the wood bar tops and the lighting. I liked how it was busy but not loud. Jennifer took our order, and even though I had a pretty unusual order, she took it with a smile. I loved her cheerfulness and her hat. She made me smile, and I really needed that from a stranger. She represents Starbucks well. I never really go into Starbucks, but if I do, her personality is what I look for. My drink tasted delicious (grande iced upside down blonde caramel macchiato with toffee instead of vanilla) but the woman making them wasn't very nice at all, unfortunately. read more

Pros - It is convenient and quick to get some coffee from them. It is useful as a public meeting place if you need to meet someone when you are selling something. Cons - Better coffee can be made at home, and for 1/10th the cost. Even the small cup of coffee is very strong. Less of a beverage and more of a narcotic. read more

I used to come to this location on a regular basis. Service generally sucks and they have such a sucky attitude the majority of the time so I stopped coming in. Messing up my orders ect doesn't pan out well for me. As they say location, location, location. That's the only thing good about this Starbucks. I do use the restroom and that's it's only purpose to me. There are three other Starbucks on Foothill with wonderful service so I would highly recommend going to any of those for a more enjoyable experience. Two stars for the decent bathrooms because in my opinion that's all this location is good for besides a cup of water. I liked this Starbucks a lot, but I think I've just about had it with the attitudes here. I understand that this place is super busy due to the location, tons of kids during the summer, etc, but please don't be rude to me just because you are stressed and the place is considerably understaffed. I placed a mobile order and came in 10 minutes after I sent the order. I asked at the pick up desk if my order was ready. I was told that it wasn't because there were several orders ahead of mine. I waited for 20 more minutes and I had only asked a second time because I saw an iced coffee just sitting there. I asked politely and the barista that was making the drinks rudely said "we don't call out mobile orders anymore, you need to ask". Um, okay? I asked you 20 minutes prior, you can't remember that I'm standing there just waiting? I told her that I asked 20 minutes ago, she rudely yelled "maam, we don't call out mobile orders, okay?" Well, listen. I asked already, I didn't know I needed to ask more than once. Not once did she apologize or seem to care that I was upset. They have so many gold star members that trying to appease one of them isn't really on the register. The place was incredibly busy and they had only two people on staff. Only one at the register with a long line of people waiting, and only one person making drinks. I understand that she was most likely frustrated, but do not take your anger out on me. Wasn't appreciated, on my way out I had two people that were waiting for their orders tell me that they would have been furious as well and that I handled it well. Yep. I love this Starbucks... until I started becoming a regular. I go around 9:30am before work. There is always a short line, but the baristas are pretty slow. And there is always only one person on the register and only one person making drinks. Once I got my iced coffee at the bar, I asked the barista if she can put caramel sauce on top. She said she would, but next time tell the person at the register so they can charge me 60 cents. I said, I always ask at the register, but I noticed everytime I do so, the person making the drink NEVER puts the caramel on top, but around the cup. She said, I should specify for the caramel to be on top. So, I went there again. Did exactly as she requested me to. I said, CARAMEL ON TOP. First off, I never got charged an extra 60 cents for caramel (and they never have). Second, the girl who told me to request at the register was making my drink... and what did she do??? Yes, you guessed it, she put the caramel sauce on the bottom. Not around the cup, not on top of the ice, but on the bottom. I watched her do this. And I told her, "I requested for the caramel to be on top." And she said... I DID put it on top. Thank you for lying to me. You lost a loyal customer. This is the worst Starbucks in the area. Their coffee is always over roasted, I've never had a coffee drink here that wasn't extremely bitter. Their wireless charging is more or less defunct at this point and for it's location it does not have enough seating. It's only plus is it's convenience. (Hence 2 stars) I am never coming here again, there is a way better one out up the street with even easier parking and a couple of even better Starbucks locations less than 10 min away. Honestly go to any other location instead. read more
