It's a Starbucks! I'm not really sure what a review could say that would change your mind about whether or not to go to one. I felt the current score was unfairly low, since I've never experienced any of the problems mentioned by those giving the low scores, and thought I'd help out. I've been going regularly since September and my only complaints are the lack of empty tables (not that there aren't many tables, there just have quite a few customers in the mornings), and more importantly, the lack of apple fritters. This was mentioned earlier, and I'd like to join the crusade for convincing Starbucks to increase their daily fritter output. Otherwise, its a perfectly fine store, and I'm going to say that whatever problems were being mentioned up until this past summer have been remedied. read more

Probably one my favorite Starbucks locations. The staff is super friendly and provide quick service. The renovations are fantastic, makes it much more spacious, however I do miss the comfy, soft chairs that have been replaced with wood chairs. The coffee, of course, is delicious, as you'd expect from any Starbucks location. I do agree with the previous posters in that their tends to be a lot of babies and toddlers and thus it's kind of loud, but that can't be helped with a toy store right next door. read more

Location was out of straws today. A hand written note blamed it on not getting a delivery in. Here's a tip, If you are out of straws call around to the 100's of other starbucks locations that are within couple mile radius and get hooked up...if that doesn't work then have baristas tell customers as they are ordering frappacinos with whip cream. It's s real bummer after placing an order for several drinks that you find this news out. No apologies were offered by staff just simple pointing to the hand written sign. read more

I work right up the block from this location and they recently just remodeled it. The place looks great and there is tons of seating. I've never had a problem with my order or the employees. BUT, I ordered my first frappucino there and it cost around $6 which is outrageous!!! The frappucino at McDonalds taste better and its only $2....seriously Starbucks has to make their prices more affordable for the working class. I really dislike this Starbucks. Which is a shame, because I love Starbucks otherwise. The baristas just aren't the friendliest bunch, and it seems like they don't put their best effort into the drinks. I get the same iced coffee from this place almost every other day. I was in Times Square recently, and got the same drink there. Not only were the baristas super-friendly, but they wanted to make sure my drink tasted right. My husband and I both became quite sick from the milk they used. We were both in the restroom all day after drinking the skim milk. When you go, be sure to ask if the milk is fresh. read more

Hey there, I just wanted to say thx you to the two baristas who got my grande green tea frappucino with coconut milk on Thurs. 10/20 right!! I was very happy with the service I recieved from the early morning baristas- The first one said Good Morning, took my order and I took the opportunity to ask him a questions regarding my stars and a second barista stepped forward and took the time to explain to me about my experience with the customer service on the phone the day before (my previous order/same as today). How I receive my special offers, stars and to correct the information that the customer had given me regarding the various prices of drinks at Starbucks!! Alright, so this is a Starbucks, they are pretty consistent generally, right? Well...this one is one of the lamest excuses for a Starbucks outside of "fake" hotel and college campus loactions. The people are real but still super friendly, competent and the drinks come fast and correctly. This is perhaps my favorite Starbucks in the world--its everything a neighborhood Starbucks should be. The place is consistently filled with locals from Brookline Village, which range from grad students to young families to the occasional person just passing through. The employees are cheerful, engaging, and efficient. The beverages are consistently excellent, and most regulars will find the baristas not only know your drink order, but also your name. There is a great energy to this Starbucks; it is generally crowded in the morning commute hours, yet remains vivid and inviting still. For me, it truly is the gold standard for Starbucks. read more

Yesterday, Thursday March 26, 2015 around 11:30am I was sitting in your Starbucks coffee house located at 15 Harvard Street in Brookline, MA. 02445. I started patronizing your establishment about 2 months ago. I have a service animal, that regularly accompanying me there each day. I have never experienced any issues or grievances with your employees or other customers until yesterday. Your store manager Tyler Harris and his district manager (Name unknown) began to "grilling" me several irrelevant questions that bordered on harassment! Questions about my service animal, they claim that allegedly my service canine urinated in this Starbucks location, barked at customers, He (The Starbucks district manager) even questioned me where I live where my car was, for reasons unknown? Several of your customers ask to say hi, to my service animal, bring him dog treats and regularly compliment me, on how well behaved my service animal is! Then district Manager also asked me: "Why I visited this particular location, 7 days a week?" He had the audacity to question me about the length of time I spend there, each day? His store manager (Mr. Tyler Harris), continued to repeat: "Your dog crapped all over the store!" Which is a lie and total falsehood! And if this was true, why did he wait until yesterday to address this alleged issue?! I theorize He (Tyler Harris) fabricated it, because his district manager was there! Because my service animal does not wander around this location! He sleeps under the table where I sit at, while I work on my spreadsheets. Whenever he (My service animal) needs to go to the bathroom, he is trained to alert me, by touching my knee with his paw, and is immediately taken outside far away from your Starbucks store, to relieve himself. I felt as if I was unfairly "targeted", harassed, taken for granted and betrayed by your store manager and district manager. There is a woman that regularly visits this location, who smell like urine, there is also a woman who brings in several large garbage bags of unknown contents, into this Starbucks location. Another man only known as "Charlie", who begs for cookies and brownies and is given free Tea and cookies and brownies, by Starbucks employees and managers daily. And yet another man only known as "Bob", who yells out random obscene things over and over, in front of adults and young children and is very distracting. He is also given free bananas and free large hot chocolates, from the other barristers and the assistant manager at this location named "Drew" or "Andrew". My point is, none of the people that I mentioned above are ever questioned or harassed, asked to leave or even told to stop being disruptive in this Starbucks location, by the managers or other Starbucks employees?! But my service animal and I were in my opinion: unfairly questioned, humiliated and my service animal falsely accused of barking aggressively at Starbucks customers , defecating inside this Starbucks location, etc. I could not believe the way I was treated yesterday, by your store manager and your district manager!! I have given very favorable (yelp.com ) reviews about how I was treated in this location in the past. But yesterday, was inexcusable! I own one of your white Starbucks ceramic coffee mugs with the Starbucks siren logo on the side. I used to brag about I was once treated with respect there! I also spend a significant amount of money at your coffee houses as well, and feel that I deserve to be treated with respect & dignity! And "embraced" instead of excluded by your store manager and his district manager! I feel that an apology should be extended to me for the way I was unfairly treated yesterday. I felt taken for granted and stereo-typed, solely based on the amount of time I spend at your location. I am college educated and never have disrespected the staff or any of the patrons at this location. I am African American, and I feel that your corporate initiative, to encourage your Starbucks baristas will have the option as they serve customers to hand cups on which they've handwritten the words "Race Together" and start a discussion about race. Is very smart and necessary. Please address your employee Tyler Harris and his district manager. Have them extend an apology for the way they treated me yesterday. They should take some type of diversity/sensitivity training, and how to talk to your customers. I regularly consult unbiased sites like yelp.com, before patronizing a business. I will not return to Starbucks neither will my friends that live in my condominium co-op, until this issue is addressed and resolved amicably. This happened a few months ago, but I forgot to Yelp it, figured now is as good of a time as ever. Had an awesome experience getting my coffee on 09/16/16. The coffee was great but it was what I saw there that really stood out. A disabled young adult male in a wheelchair came into Starbucks and the Baristas behind the counter were SO kind and incredibly helpful to his needs. Their nametags were Drew and Jay. The customer was not able to get his own money out, so regardless of the fact that a small line had formed behind the customer, Drew came from behind the counter and helped the young man with his wallet, asking him which card he wanted to use, charged it and put it all back in place in the wheelchair's pocket. He took all the time needed to really help. This young man also had verbal challenges and Drew was very patient. Jay was making the drink and she was just as kind and accommodating. The young man asked for more topping and Jay obliged him and chatted with him like a peer. It really warmed my heart and I know there have been other news stories of local coffee shops being discriminatory to the disabled--- but this starbucks is not one of those places. I've been coming to this Starbucks for about a month now and every time I come there is an issue any time one of two males there make my drink. Today more specifically I ordered a tall, iced caramel macchiato with coconut milk, light ice and extra caramel on the top and bottom (sounds a little complicated but this what they're used too) so when the guy starts making he immediately adds the sweetener and then proceeds to add soy milk (before I could ask if it was my drink) so I kindly tell him I asked for coconut milk and he pours it out all angrily . So he starts over and I kindly tell him I asked for extra caramel at the bottom of my cup to which he replies with "Are you a barista"? (How rude is that?) So I tell him no I'm not a barista but since I'm paying for something I'd like it to be made the way I ordered to be, I also let him know that he chose his job not me and if he's going to work in a place where he has to work face to face with customers he should have a better attitude or work in a different environment. I love Starbucks and I probably spend more money here than what I need too but the attitudes from some of these baristas are deplorable and make me what to change where I get coffee from. The staff here really need to have a mandatory meeting on customer service. read more

If it were possible to give this store more than five stars, I would. The staff, for the most part, is always cheerful and helpful. They all seem to work well under the pressure of a busy store, and I would say that they are one of the most efficient stores that I have been to in the area. It seems that they have forged many relationships with the regular customers, and it is nice to see that there is that personal connection. I would tend to disagree with Ken M. about the management as well. The manager seems to have a good relationship with her employees, and it seems that rather than being rude, she seems to have a good relationship where they can joke around and still get the job done. Don't forget, they are in a VERY stressful environment and sometimes you have to be assertive and maybe sometimes a little harsh to get the job done. Would you rather that she say nothing and have the store fall apart? Also, about running out of things, Ken, the teas were discontinued BY STARBUCKS CORPORATION so that they could switch to a better quality tea bag. If you had bothered to ask rather than just assume you had the answer, one of the baristas could have explained this to you. I have also been in where other things have been out, but it could also be the corporation, not the store. When they run out of spoons, they go and buy more. And who cares if you have a flat lid or a dome lid? Also, they will double-cup drinks if they run out of sleeves. I would venture to say that you have been more belittling towards the store than the store manager has ever been to her employees. Brookline Village Starbucks DOES NOT deserve anything but a good review because it is full of hard, talented workers who care about the customers and the quality of their product. Just go in and look at how many regulars stand and talk to the workers and are visibly enjoying being there. GO LADIES!!! (and that one boy) read more
