I occasionally come here since it's the closest Vietnamese food in Fenway, but have been consistently disappointed with their sandwiches and especially their coffee. Although staff are sweet, the coffee quality has consistently gone down, even as its price has gone up. I'm quite disappointed with this change in quality since we used to come here all the time! The shop itself is still very cute, but quite cramped for how many customers they serve.

Amazing viet sandwich and viet coffee. Absolutely amazing! I chugged that viet coffee like there was no tomorrow. Couple blocks from Fenway park. An absolutely perfect start to a ballgame! $20 for a sandwich and an ice coffee. Opens at 9:30 but they opened a bit late

Food and drinks are delicious! We got an Ice Saigonese which was just the right amount of sweet and refreshing on a hot summer day! For food we got a BBQ Pork banh mi which was great, could have had a bit more sauce but otherwise very enjoyable! The outside benches are great for the warm weather, but the inside space is a bit small. It is designed and decorated very well though, great space to get work done! Service has always been very friendly, but when the line gets long, sometimes it can get confusing as to who's order is being served. It can also get tight in the space inside.

Really great service considering how crowded it gets (especially with the social media hype now), and even better matcha! Among the best I've ever had and I'm lucky (maybe my wallet isn't) to live so close. It does get crowded though, so my best advice would be order ahead and take it to go. I also tried one of the Nutella walnut cookies and it was delicious, however I wouldn't warm it up again. The cookie itself crumbled and left me basically with a glob of nutella for like $7. Now I know to not get it warmed up. A little disappointed there. I've had their banh mi before too and it's delicious, so I'll be back to try more!

    Lavender latte

Walking to the Isabella Gardener Museum I spotted this cafe and decided to stop in for breakfast. The lavender latte had a non intrusive flavor with nicely foamed milk. I normally make my own breakfast sandwiches so I'm pretty picky. The egg and cheese croissant here has mine beat. Soft croissant, not overly poached egg, some kind of mustard based fry sauce and crispy bacon. I thoroughly enjoyed that croissant then headed on my way to the museum.

Convenient and tasty sandwiches in a small shop. The three Banh Mi's we got--Classic Cold Cut, BBQ Pork, and Lemongrass Steak--all hit the spot. Unfortunately, some caveats were the thickness of a few of the meat cuts and the dryness of the sandwiches (due to insufficient pate/butter spread in them). Many people were getting drinks too so we will def try those next time

Good vanilla matcha and great service. I really want to come back and try their famous Bahn Mi sandwiches! Such a cute little cafe on Peterborough in Fenway, great option to get some work done or a quick bite to eat. Baristas are super nice and the drink came out quick!

Iced Matcha Latte w/ Whole Milk

This place is super adorable with it being the perfect place to study or sit and chat with friends. I came on a Tuesday afternoon and it seemed pretty busy as all tables were filled up. It can get a bit crowded and compacted but that's what makes a local cafe appealing! I'm a basic girly and normally only get an iced matcha which was a staple here. The milk in my drink was a bit overpowering but that's what comes with a latte anyways, and I was able to still enjoy the aroma of the matcha. I'll definitely try the ube latte next time as it seems to be a popular one when I come back to Boston!

We came in about 30 minutes before closing and were debating between the ube and the matcha. I originally ordered the ube milk tea, but it tasted too much like taro and was a bit chunky. We asked if they could remake it into the strawberry matcha. The strawberry matcha was sooooo delicious. The matcha was strong yet the strawberry syrup made it the perfect sweetness & didn't taste artificial at all. The baristas were so kind and accommodating. They really are going above and beyond! The café itself has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. It's perfect spot to study or catch up with friends. I'll definitely be back!

On Sunday, I got the Saigonese Iced Coffee and a BBQ Pork Bahn Mi. The coffee was pretty delicious, strong, and sweet. Hits the spot for something creamy with a cream foam on top. The Bahn mi was average to good. It didn't give 'refreshing' as much as I wanted compared to other shops. Think it was lacking sauce so it felt dry and bready. On the bites where there was sauce, it was pretty good with a nice crunch. The jalapeños surprised me cause there were a bunch on one side and none in the first half. Overall, was still quite good. The place looked nice but it was starting to get packed around the 130ish hour mark. I wanted to takeout but didnt know where to stand and wait. I just waited outside, thankfully the staff were nice and loud. Service was fast and they were nice.

What a cute spot! Phinista is located in a really nice part of the Fenway area, so it's pretty convenient. Even though it was pretty busy, our orders were ready right away. The restaurant is a bit small, but they also had outdoor seating. My friends and I actually took our food to a nearby park, which was perfect. The food itself was better than I expected, for what I'd call a less authentic type place. Regardless, the taste was there! I'd consider going back again.

Stopped in as we were already eating on the block. Needed our drink fix and always wanted to try. Super cute spot with games, table setup to do some work or hang out. Small space but cozy. They have some food and an array of viet coffees and non-coffee drinks. Opted for strawberry matcha as recommended but the nice staff and the lady had the iced phin ube. I like seeing Vietnamese options or viet fusion stuff on menus around Boston and i enjoyed my drink. The matcha was not too early, mixed smooth and the drink was refreshing and light (especially after a heavy meal!) The ube drink was good and tasty according to the wifey. The coffee was robust, but not bitter! (Some like bitter but we don't) Check this off our list, would get again if eating in the area, luckily there is parking out front via meters. Read the signs tho some are permit only (across street + earlier on the block)

Oh man, visiting Phinista today brought back so many memories of when I used to come here a couple times a week to get my coffee fix. I used to come here before/after classes & their drinks do not miss. Fast forward, two year later, I finally was able to come by today after getting some lunch. Love, love, love their viet coffee; today I tried their iced phin ube & it was great! We also tried their iced Strawberry matcha latte. Love that it's not bitter at all and can taste both the matcha + strawberry jam. Such a cute little cafe. A great place to go to get some studying done or just to get some baked goods + drinks. Finding parking can be difficult, depending on the time you go but there are a few meter parking spots right outside on Peterborough St.

Pad Thai: Just like at Nine Tastes, my first bite was overwhelmed by the strong sourness... According to ChatGPT, American Southeast Asian restaurants may use concentrated tamarind sauce instead of the original tamarind-infused water, or reduce the sugar to suit American tastes, hence the extra sourness of Pad Thai. Learned something new! The shrimp was very fresh, firm and tender; the rice noodles were stir-fried with a great wok hei 鑊氣(wok aroma), and the portion was huge, but it got a bit oily towards the end. My favorite was the peanuts--they were incredibly fragrant, and not too finely ground, giving them a better texture. Also, a larger plate is really needed; it would be much easier to mix all the ingredients together. Drunken Noodles: The wide flat rice noodles were authentic. The spicy flavor added another layer of wok hei, and the thin layer of chili oil helped retain heat and enhance the aroma. Although a bit spicy, I felt it was the best of the three. Saigon Noodle: It felt like a combination of the two above, with a touch of sweet and sour and a hint of spicy, but neither was particularly prominent. It had a hint of sesame oil, but I personally don't really like sesame oil.

Here are things they should really improve on to make it even better: - put expiration dates or packed dates on certain items, such as the desserts in the fridge. That's the norm practice elsewhere. Thus, the absence of these dates strongly suggests deception, i.e., bad faith attempts to sell older produce when they should already have been trashed. - do put the prices of the items rather than letting customers wondering or just blindly let the cashier ring it up without being informed of the price first. Why not place the price there? And yes, this is probably more desirable because of the aforementioned practice of marking up prices at the Ba Le Quincy Branch (this is documented all over Google and Yelp reviews for Ba Le Quincy), which may be why we have good reasons to be hyperly cautious when making purchases from these personnel.
