The Vietnamese coffee is strong and very sweet. Whatever sweetener is the type that has a "bite" to it, for lack of a better descriptor, sort of like tasting something astringent but sweet? I wasn't personally fond of it, but it definitely adds to the jolt of energy you get each sip, good for anyone who needs a boost in the morning. The owner/employees are nice and fast. Inside is pretty small, a few places for sitting along the window counter and a high top table or two, but this place is definitely more of a takeout spot.
So fresh and delicious! The veggies were crisp, pork was flavorful and tender, and bread was soft. The staff were so sweet! It is a smaller place so only a max of 3 chairs together at a time but that was no issue for us. Just keep in mind if you have a bigger group.
My sister comes here every weekend because of the consistently good sandwiches. Her boyfriend is Vietnamese, a picky eater, and yet they are loyal customers. The owners even know them and start making the sandwiches as soon as they walk in which says something! When I was visiting Boston, they recommended this place as we had plans in the area like Haymarket which is only a few minutes walk away. We got the vegan banh mi ($9) which was fresh, savory, and with a hint of spicy from some jalapeño. We were hungry, so we shared 3 sandwiches between 2 people, but one sandwich would be sufficient for a quick casual lunch. It was quiet on the weekend when we went, but I've heard it gets quite busy on weekdays.
place is not that spacious and i think they intend to have grab and go system. anyway, for foods: only have one variant of pho and i will say the broth is great and love it when they really serve it hot. banh mi is also great and so generous with filings like pickle and cilantro ~ yeay!!! all is good but just one recommendation: it is very awkward when seeing staffs grabbed some pickles and put inside their mouths right away using the same gloves. will it be possible to avoid that and not doing it while customers sit there??? thank you...
This spot has been on my list for awhile and I finally tried it on a rainy lunch day. S4. BBQ Pork Banh Mi - the baguette is so pillowy and crackly. One of the best banh mi baguettes I've had. The pork was tender and seasoned well. The pickled carrots and daikon added a nice crunch and texture. The jalapeño added much needed heat. If you pay with card, there is a service fee which I didn't realize until I looked at the receipt after I left. Bring cash!
Banh Mi Ok is a cozy, small establishment with kind and friendly staff workers who were very attentive. We ordered Thai milk tea and banh mi -- both solid choices. The banh mi was pretty good -- no complaints there, except for the bread. It was crumbly and left a bit of a mess. Turns out, banh mi bread should be crisp and airy on the outside but not too crumbly. The place has limited seating with uncomfortable high chairs, which seem to be designed to encourage you to eat quickly and leave. It can get busy, so it's much better as a grab-and-go experience rather than dining in. Overall, if you're craving good banh mi and Thai milk tea, Banh Mi Ok is a solid choice -- just be prepared to sweep up some crumbs!
The only reason why I am rating this a 3 (more so a 3.5) start is because I requested absolutely no cilantro and guess what.... There was cilantro all in my grilled chicken sandwich which I didn't realize until after I already bit into my sandwich (what if I was allergic?!?) Well I stopped by Banh MI Ok because I wanted to try something new and the reviews were good. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich (S3) with NO Cilantro... this was a to go order. This sandwich is $9 and with tax and a service charge, the price was $9.92 With this sandwich, it was packed with an excessive amount onions so I had to dig that out as well. The chicken in this sandwich was really good and flavorful, the bread was not as soft as I thought it would be however it was not bad. Would I return... yes however I would just stress no veggies just to make sure that there's no cilantro. and I would definitely double check the sandwich before leaving the restaurant
Amazing food and price with an endearing vibe on a Saturday morning (quiet, only tv playing on the background) Will definitely come back next time when I need a quick bite

I got the cold cut and beef, which both were delicious although I wish there was a little bit more pate and mayo, seem a little lacking but good sandwich. It gets busy around lunchtime so it takes about 20 minutes to get the in order.

I've been waiting for a shop that makes good banh mi north of Dorchester and I have finally found it. Their house made sauce on top of their homemade paté and meats on a toasted, airy baguette with pickled veggies and cilantro to enhance all the flavors completely satisfies my cravings for a light yet savory lunch. I grew up eating banh mi in Boston's Chinatown and miss the old school vendors. I also never knew why people would opt for those sandwich chains when these delicious Vietnamese sandwiches were available--and for cheaper too! Vietnamese Pork Roll Banh Mi: if you're like me and prefer the white deli meat over the red one then this could be your jam. I usually order the original at any shop but here they actually have a version for exactly what I like! BMO House Special Banh Mi: this is the original style and the go-to choice if you have not had Vietnamese sandwiches before. All sauces and meats are homemade so the variation of each shop can be tasted but Banh Mi OK makes the best I've tried since my trip to LA honestly. Vegan Banh Mi: this does not miss out on flavor! It's a really tasty sandwich and you should try to switch up your order (which you should do once you become a regular) if it's not already your first choice.
Stopped by on the whim and was happy I did! Inside has some seating and the menu offers an assortment of Vietnamese dishes like spring rolls, variety of sandwiches, rice bowls, and drinks. All of the workers spoke Vietnamese that made me feel at home and more comfortable with the quality of the food. I ended up ordering the S1 or special banh mi. I asked for the greens on the side since I wouldn't be eating the sandwich right away. Overall the sandwich was good, better than okay! The baguette was fluffy and delicious, pickled veggies were acidic and crunchy, the cold meat cuts were yummy, and the pate and Vietnamese mayo was delicious. I just wish the sandwich had more meats/spread and that they included more herbs and jalapeños. Overall, an authentic Vietnamese spot and I will be back whenever I have a craving!
Very delicious banh mi dac biet, the cha was good and there was enough mayo and pate in each bite. Each banh mi is made to order so you know you're getting it fresh. Pleased with my visit and one of the better banh mi spots in Boston. read more

Finally got to try their banh mi during my lunch, which was peak hours, but they took the order fast and made it quickly. I ordered the house special banh mi, which had so many pickled veggies that made each bite so refreshing, and white onions, which not many places have. But only 1 slice of each cold cut and a lack of mayo. My favorite banh mi place is still the Ba Le in Dorchester. I also ordered the shrimp spring roll, but I wish the shrimp were fresher. The peanut sauce is definitely not my favorite; it adds a little spice, but it lacks peanut flavor and is watery. I preferred the summer rolls at 163 Vietnamese Sandwiches and Bubble Tea in Chinatown. read more

Only in Boston will you find a banh mi for nearly $10!!! I still love this place though (and they take credit card). I've tried their shrimp spring rolls ($7), BMO house special banh mi ($9), and grilled chicken banh mi ($9). The spring rolls are a big portion for the price and include chives which adds a fresh layer of flavor I wasn't expecting. The spring roll sauce is on the sweeter side. I love that they add this spicy sambal-like sauce to their banh mi on top of the usual mayo and pate. It adds so much more flavor! The bread is also very fragrant and crisp. I've tried some of their drinks as well. The iced coffee ($5.50) comes in a huge cup-- I had to drink it across 2 days because I couldn't handle that much caffeine. The passion fruit tea ($5.50) has a lot of chunks of syrupy passion fruit and they add a little bit of lime to it too. I requested a large order (14 sandwiches) from them and they were super accommodating about it-- they said that the turnaround time is usually 30-90 minutes so you can call in the day of. However, just to be safe I stopped by the day before to place my order and gave them my contact information. The next morning they called me to confirm my order and everything was fresh and ready when I went in to pick it up! read more
Banh Mi Ok is great place for a Friday pick me up lunch. Very tasty and affordable for a lunch in the city. I've had the beef and chicken banh mi sandwiches, the bread always has a nice crunch, the meat is delicious and juicy and the vegetables add freshness and more crunch. read more
Located around the corner from our hotel so we were very excited to hit up this spot. Banh mi was decent, very Americanized so taste was disappointing. Goi Cuon were wrapped beautifully, I was very impressed but upon biting into one I realized it was slapped with oil on top (typically done so the rolls don't stick together when premade and boxed. The women behind the counter were very friendly and outgoing which upped my review by a star but food was a three at best and prices were insane but again, when you're downtown and rent it high, makes sense. read more

The shop is small with prepped food. I had a hankering for a Vietnamese spring roll and this was the closest place with a good rating. The service is fast, since all food is already prepared. However, I think spring rolls are definitely best freshly prepared. These were good, not great; however I thought the peanut sauce was very good. Unfortunately, I was only able to eat one because I decided to go to another Vietnamese place that's a bit further away but I know the spring rolls are fresh. read more
Why I'll go back: it's very close to home, but honestly, for the smoothies You HAVE to order: try a smoothie (see below) Tony's Tip: Quick with the food, but the smoothies can take 5 minutes (and probably longer once traffic picks up at this new location) So...you can probably tell I'm all about the smoothies here. It's not that the food isn't good. It is. Fresh. Flavorful. Healthy. Banh mi has just never been my cuisine of choice. But since the place is so close to my condo, and its sister restaurant has such a great rep, I wanted to try it out. Over two days, my wife and I have had three different sandwiches, one bowl, the egg rolls, and both the strawberry and avocado smoothies. She LOVES the food, so there's your endorsement by association. And nothing is over $9. But for me, the upside surprise was the smoothies. They're thick, they're sorta sweet, and they're huge! A great deal for $4.50. Four flavors to choose from: avocado (again, sweeter than you might suspect - in a good way), strawberry, mango, and taro (sounds exotic - gonna have to try it). Tons of drinks call themselves smoothies. But in my book, you gotta be thick, have real fruit, and taste a little bit like drinkable dessert. Check, check, and check! It's great to have the addition of a different type of cuisine at the northern end of Downtown Crossing's Ladder Blocks. But more importantly, after losing Surf City's "best in class" smoothies from South Station a few years ago, I think I've finally found my substitute! read more

I 100% recommend the bbq pork banh mi. The baguette was high quality, the meat was tender, and the veggies balanced out the heaviness. The iced coffee is alright, slightly bitter and watery for my liking. service is good and fast, and although the seating area is cozy it's super clean. read more

This is my favourite Banh Mi place in Boston so far. The price is also well positioned for a perfect work day lunch. I always get the house special banh mi and this time I tried the shrimp spring rolls. Shrimp spring rolls: The spring rolls were very refreshing. The ingredients tasted fresh and the sauce was on the sweeter side which I love! House special banh mi: This is my favourite item on the menu so far. I absolutely love the pâté used in the sandwich, it really gives it a rich and unique flavor. The pickled veggies are also well seasoned. The sauce they use on the bottom of the roll was also a highlight! Vietnamese iced coffee: The Vietnamese iced coffee was very rich with a hint of bitterness. It was a good way to end the meal! Overall HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick meal in the downtown area. read more
Super no-frills banh mi spot located in Downtown Boston right behind the Omni Parker hotel. I knew when I walked in and the staff was speaking Vietnamese to eachother (and my mom) that this place was legit. They have a small menu of mostly banh mi, rice bowls, spring rolls and eggrolls and is all authentic. The bread is fresh, they are generous with toppings and even have real vietnamese cold cuts. This sure did hit the spot when were craving asian food in Boston. This restaurant caters to the working crowd and has limited hours and limited seating. Definitely get your sandwich to go or inhale it right outside the restaurant since there's not really seating inside and it's a small spot that gets busy. read more

Our Banh Mi travels run from California to Boston. We had the opportunity to visit and eat at this Banh Mi restaurant in Boston. (Rated #2?? We disagree It is #1) What an overwhelming positive choice we made. An excellent Vietnamese hard roll presentation that had the aroma and taste of the homeland ! The baked roll was perfect, the amount of cold cut meats satisfying and the combination of their fresh herbs and dressing outstanding. If you are out and about in downtown Boston you are missing out on a gem of a Banh Mi "healthy sub" sandwich. Perfect for the park or at the harbor walk? If you have never indulged in this hard roll sandwich now is the chance to be converted to excellence in taste. To use the American word "sub" is a travesty....as Banh Mi's are in their own world of excellence and I highly suggest Banh Mi OK Restaurant for this and even other fresh Vietnamese fresh food!!!! read more

What a gem! We had walked by this place (quite conveniently located) a few times but hadn't gone in prior to today. The sandwiches were delicious - large portions, flavorful - I tried the grilled chicken and my husband tried the house special. The grilled chicken sandwich was warm and had great spices/seasoning, the house special had an excellent sauce and yummy Vietnamese deli meats, and both had delicious fresh daikon and carrot and cucumber. The spring rolls were excellent as well, and I thought the taro smoothie with boba was exceptional. The taro flavor was there but not overpowering, with high quality chewy boba. All in all an excellent experience and we'll definitely be back- we want to try the pork BBQ and vegan bahn mi next time! Update- the vegan and pork BBQ are delicious as well! read more
