Cute and cozy spot for two. casual self-service vibe. a bit pricey at $40, but the food is decent and worth trying at least once.

Saigon Royal Broken Rice Special (Đặc Biệt Hoàng Gia) #5

A MUST TRY! Get the special and remember to mix the flavors together. I've been dying to try Broken Rice Com Tam since the attractive storefront was just set up prior to opening. I strolled in and was warmly greeted to the clean and well lit inside area on a rainy Easter Sunday to have a well balanced meal for brunch. I eagerly ordered the Saigon Royal Broken Rice Special (Đặc Biệt Hoàng Gia) #5 on the kiosk which provided nice descriptions of each option. I sat on the nice countertop window. Honestly... this might be one of the most satisfying meals I've had in a while. Everything on the plate works together. The pork chop was juicy, slightly sweet, and perfectly charred. The egg meatloaf was super flavorful and soft, the shrimp cake added a nice crispy contrast, and that fried egg over the rice tied everything together once you break the yolk and add the fish sauce. What really stood out is how balanced the whole dish is. You've got richness from the meats and egg, acidity from the pickled vegetables, and that fish sauce that brings everything to life without overpowering it. Every bite hits a little different depending on what you mix in. And make sure you do mix and match everything while you eat! Do not eat every item separately! Also grabbed a Vietnamese iced coffee and it was spot on. It was strong, smooth, and just sweet enough from the condensed milk. This is one of those meals where you can tell a lot of care went into every component. The workers there were very nice and friendly. Would absolutely come back and order the same thing again!

25% Grand Opening Deal I walked by and decided to give it a try since the place was new and empty at noon time. I ordered from the kiosk. It takes around 15 min for my order to arrive. It is a self serve place since you get the utensial yourself whether you are dining in or take out. I ordered the Saigon Royal Broken Rice Special, which included the charbroiled pork chop, egg meatloaf, shredded pork skin, a fried egg, crispy shrimp cake, and sugarcane shrimp. I wish the pork chop were more tender, and I should have ordered the lemongrass-flavored instead of charbroiled. I enjoyed eating the crispy shrimp cake and sugarcane shrimp, since they did not mix them with flour. 100% shrimp with seasoning. Also, white peach lemonade, which doesn't have much peach flavor. I will come back to try other items, especially to take advantage of the 25% discount.

New casual Vietnamese dining spot where Spicy World used to be in Chinatown. Tried the appetizer platter which consisted of fresh and fried spring rolls, plus fried shrimp rolls. We ordered at the kiosk and the food came out quickly. Staff seemed nice and friendly and we'll definitely be back to try their Bon Bo Hue and maybe a rice plate.

Pork chop. Where is charcoal grilled aroma ?

I decided to try this place because I was excited to find broken rice (cơm tấm), a dish I grew up with. While the pricing on Uber Eats is quite high, I didn't mind paying for it as I was really looking forward to the experience. Broken rice: 3/5 The rice itself was somewhat dry and lacked the softness I would expect. Pork chop: 2/5 Unfortunately, this was disappointing. The meat lacked flavor and had no noticeable charcoal-grilled aroma. The marinade did not resemble the authentic taste of grilled pork chop typically found in Vietnam. Fish sauce (nước mắm): 1/5 This was the weakest component. A proper nước mắm should be well-balanced--slightly thick, with a rich sweet and savory profile. This version fell short of those expectations. Steamed egg meatloaf (chả trứng): 3/5 This was the highlight of the dish and had a decent flavor overall.

Located in the old spicy world location, this Vietnamese fast casual restaurant is greatly needed in Chinatown. Ordering by kiosk is greatly preferred, however, the staff will take orders in person as well. There is a 25% grand opening special until March 31st! I recommend the lemongrass chicken and the royal plate. The rice that comes with the dishes is actually very delicious. Staff is friendly. The bathrooms are clean. Make sure to wear layers as the restaurant itself is a bit cool.

I am writing to provide feedback regarding my recent experience at your establishment. My decision to visit was primarily influenced by its visible presence in the area and the positive commentary I had encountered on Yelp. Upon entering, I found the ordering process to be efficiently managed through the self-service kiosk system, which offered a streamlined approach to placing my selection. For my meal, I opted for the #4 Saigon Broken Rice Special. The presentation of the dish was commendable and visually appealing. However, I must offer some constructive criticism regarding the pork chop component. Despite the attractive plating, I found the pork chop to be notably dry. The sweet sauce, which was generously applied to the dish, unfortunately did not sufficiently enhance the moisture content of the meat when sampled. Currently they offer a 25% discount until March 31st.

We had the Saigon Royal Special broken rice dish. Excellent. Good portion. The inside of the place is clean. Would come back again.

(BBH) Beef Noodle Soup (Bún Bò Huế) #6 and pork egg rolls!

This is a family run place! The son was so helpful helping me navigate through the menu since I didn't know what I was doing. I got the (BBH) Beef Noodle Soup (Bún Bò Huế) #6. It was really good, unique flavors and proteins. The pork egg rolls were fantastic as well. I liked I could add spice as I went to make it what I wanted. It is tucked off the main path so you have to work a bit to find it, but it is apparently a gem of china town Boston. Try it out!!

My server seemed bothered when I asked for a fork. Usually although a busy place, I find that servers are generally attentive and also quickly bring your check. Phở Pasteur is a classic Vietnamese restaurant that focuses on traditional comfort dishes,…read moreespecially pho and other noodle soups. We walked into a casual, straightforward space that makes it the type of place you stop by for a quick, warm meal rather than a long dining experience. The atmosphere is nice with a busy, fast-paced energy that fits the style of food being served. The menu covers many Vietnamese staples, including different styles of pho, bun bo hue, rice dishes, and vermicelli bowls, giving plenty of options depending on what you are craving. The main draw here is the pho, but it landed a bit differently than expected. The broth had a lighter profile compared to other pho spots, with less of that deep, aromatic richness that usually makes the dish stand out. It was still enjoyable as a warm noodle soup, but the flavor felt a little more muted and did not have the same depth as some other Vietnamese restaurants nearby. The beef quality was solid, and the portions of noodles and meat were reasonable, but the broth is the part that makes the biggest difference in pho, and here it leaned more subtle than bold. Beyond pho, the menu offers a good selection of other Vietnamese dishes. The bun bo hue is a nice option if you prefer something with more spice and stronger flavors, while the rice and vermicelli dishes provide alternatives to the usual noodle soup. The restaurant also offers familiar sides and drinks like Thai iced tea, which pair naturally with the meal. Service is generally quick and the restaurant has a busy, efficient style, especially during peak hours. The staff handles the steady flow of customers well, and the food comes out without much delay. The location makes it convenient for a casual meal, but the fast pace can sometimes make the experience feel a little rushed. Prices are also a bit higher compared to some other Vietnamese restaurants, especially considering the portion size and the lighter broth profile, which may not feel like the best value for what you get. Phở Pasteur is a convenient option for Vietnamese food in the area, especially if you are looking for a quick bowl of pho. The food is solid, but compared to other pho spots, the lighter broth and higher pricing make it harder to stand out. It works well for a casual meal, though there are other places nearby that offer a more memorable pho experience. For a straightforward, no-fuss stop when you are in the neighborhood, it fills the gap, but it does not quite reach the level of a destination pho spot.

Vietnamese cuisine is traditionally rooted in affordability, sharing an abundance of food, and enjoying good laughs with great company. By trying to force the concept into a high-end parallel, it just ends up feeling mediocre and hollow. The value simply isn't there--a single appetizer, one main entree, and three refreshments came out to a whopping $105. To make matters worse, the service was incredibly judgmental. Because our party of three only ordered that amount, the staff pretty much ignored us for the rest of the night after taking the order. The awkwardness started the absolute second we sat down. Before we could even settle into our chairs or get handed a menu, the waiter demanded to know what we wanted to drink. When we asked to see a menu first, he looked completely confused as to why we'd need one. After another staff member finally took our order, we sat there waiting for what felt like an eternity. When the food eventually arrived, they gave us sharing plates and chopsticks. We asked for a spoon to properly eat the claypot rice, and the waiter gave us another judging look. As Asians, we obviously know how to use chopsticks, but you objectively need a spoon to scoop the claypot SAUCE out of the pot! While the food itself is decent, the cramped atmosphere, poor hospitality, and inflated price tag mean I won't be rushing back. I might grab take out for the dumpling platter and cat fish rice pot but definitely not sitting in again.
