This is one of those places where you would go to if you want to romanticize a nice chill day. I came in on a windy fall afternoon (around 3pm for a super late lunch). Before we even got to the door, we were already surrounded by the delicate and savory aroma of pho and other delicious Vietnamese food. We were seated right away and staff was pretty speedy about taking our orders. The menu is on the smaller side but they seem to really emphasize quality over quantity. Based on other reviews, I'd say it does take awhile for them to make the food but please know it is absolutely worth it!!!! I am obsessed with this pho and even had it twice in the same week. This pho is the closest I've had to homemade pho at a restaurant by far. I just know it's made with love and genuine care for the art of making pho. I throughly enjoyed it and will be coming back next time I'm in Boston!

The bahn mi is my go-to for a good priced filling delicious meal. Well worth it to dine in and order the rice plates for a nicer dinner. Always super kind service!

A cute Vietnamese restaurant between Northeastern and Berklee. LOCATION: Street parking only but located on Mass Ave so it's a busy area. The restaurant itself is small but cozy. MENU: The menu is very limited and consist of spring rolls, banh mi, pho and rice dishes. FOOD: I ordered the beef pho and it was only beef flank with options to add more meat or rib. I was hoping for some more cuts or tendon. My fellow diner ordered the pork rice plate and enjoyed it! SERVICE: Very friendly but it did take a while for the food to come out.

I got food to take away from here and brought it back to our hotel. Loved that they had avocado shake and the bahn mi sandwiches were excellent!

I've walked by this place over a dozen times and almost every time, you can smell the wonderful aroma of their pho broth. Well today was the day that a group of us decided to go in. I'm glad we did but I wish I would have visited sooner! For starters, we had the shrimp spring rolls. So fresh and delicious. Will have this again! For mains, we had a variety. The veggie rice plate, the rice plate with pork, and the standard beef pho. Lets just say that by the end of the meal, there was hardly anything left on each plate/bowl! The pho was super hot and tasted awesome. It seemed to have the perfect amount of flavor with nothing overpowering. I would order this again for sure. So the rice plates were really good also. The pork was extremely flavorful and the fresh veggies accompanied the meal to perfection. In terms of value, I'd say it was really good by today's standards. This seems like a family business with the mom working the front of the house with the assistance of her son. Overall, it was a great experience and I would come back again. One big note is that the menu is very limited. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but if you're expecting to choose a variety of proteins and broths, you'd be disappointed. If you're ordering pho, it's going to be beef. The only choice you have is kid's or adult size.

Be prepared for a long wait during peak hours, but I think it's worth being completely satisfied with your meal afterwards! This small restaurant is run by one sweet lady who runs around to manage all the tables, so service takes a little longer than usual. Nonetheless, their pho is sooo delicious and worth it. Their broth is filling and very savory, the perfect meal for a rainy day. We also tried their shrimp rolls, which were plated wonderfully and equally delightful to eat. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you have the time to spare and are in the area!

Food was so amazing and good quality! We got the spring rolls, pho and banh mi all were so yummy. Beverages were also superb.

We came in for lunch and got the bahn mi sandwiches. Tasty but I thought a bit small with skimpy fillings. Service was good by the 2 ladies working here. Convenient location on Mass Ave in front of the Christian Science place.

There aren't many standout spots for Vietnamese food in Boston but this place is my favorite. Relatively small place, the interior is cute and warm with lots of plants, and the ambience is giving chill cafe. Their menu is short (bahn mis, beef pho, and grilled rice plates), portions are not super filling for me, and service can be a little slow sometimes, But they deliver in terms of flavor - definitely a quality over quality establishment. Would recommend this place if you don't have much going on that day (slow-life type beat) and you're looking a casual meal, solo or with a friend.

WARNING: if you're hungry or in a rush, DO NOT COME HERE. Expect to wait 40 mins - 1 hour to get your food. Food: we got Pho and Pork broken rice. Both taste good, just pretty small portion. 4/5 Service: our waitress is super nice and apologize for how long we have to wait. But only 1 waitress for the whole store is extremely bad. 2/5 Ambience: small but clean, can be extremely loud when it's busy. 3/5 Overall: 3/5, won't come back.

Simple menus but both shrimp spring rolls and pho exceeded my expectation! From only one bite you can tell the difference, mint leaves in the sprig rolls and ginger in the soup. Unique and delicious for all the pho lovers!

I loved that the crispy rolls were vegan but it was very taro (or potato?) heavy and the taro was just slightly undercooked. Pork looked and tasted old with not much flavor and no grilled taste. It was the most disappointing part of the meal. I ended up just tossing the pork out and eating the rest, which was tolerable with the fish sauce. Wish the fish had some fresh herbs - it only came with noodles, iceberg, cucumber, peanuts, and pickled carrots and daikon. Also wished the veggies were all cut the same way for a better cohesion in texture. The lettuce pieces were kinda large and the cucumbers were sliced into discs rather than strips like everything else. Fast service, but would recommend the noodles. I did see lots of other people getting the sandwiches, which is probably what I should have ordered.

We walked into a modern, compact space with enough seating to sit down briefly, but it still felt more like a grab-and-go café during busy hours. The location is in a high-traffic area, so there was a steady flow of people throughout the day, and the energy of the room stayed practical and efficient, the kind of place where most people were coming in for a quick order rather than settling in for a long stay. The main draw here is the drink menu, especially the Vietnamese coffee-based options. We ordered a few items and found the coconut coffee and signature espresso-based lattes leaning bold and rich, with a stronger coffee profile than typical chain cafés. The matcha and hojicha options also stood out, giving the menu a good mix of both coffee and non-coffee choices. The drinks felt well made and balanced, with the Vietnamese coffee having that characteristic deep, slightly sweet flavor that comes through clearly. The food menu was smaller but included items like banh mi, bao, and light snacks, which felt more like quick add-ons rather than the main focus. Some items landed better than others, but overall the emphasis was clearly on drinks rather than a full café meal experience. The atmosphere worked best for a short stop rather than a long stay. Seating was available, but it could fill up depending on the time of day, especially with how close it is to South Station and other busy downtown spots. The space felt more practical than cozy, which fit the pace of the area. Service was friendly and efficient, with the staff moving through orders quickly and the drinks coming out without much delay. The team handled the steady flow well, keeping the experience smooth even when the line stretched. Overall, PHIN Coffee House is a solid option for strong Vietnamese-inspired coffee in the Financial District. It works best for a quick caffeine stop or casual meet-up rather than a long café session, with drinks being the main reason to visit.

We walked into a casual, straightforward space that makes it the type of place you stop by for a quick, warm meal rather than a long dining experience. The atmosphere is nice with a busy, fast-paced energy that fits the style of food being served. The menu covers many Vietnamese staples, including different styles of pho, bun bo hue, rice dishes, and vermicelli bowls, giving plenty of options depending on what you are craving. The main draw here is the pho, but it landed a bit differently than expected. The broth had a lighter profile compared to other pho spots, with less of that deep, aromatic richness that usually makes the dish stand out. It was still enjoyable as a warm noodle soup, but the flavor felt a little more muted and did not have the same depth as some other Vietnamese restaurants nearby. The beef quality was solid, and the portions of noodles and meat were reasonable, but the broth is the part that makes the biggest difference in pho, and here it leaned more subtle than bold. Beyond pho, the menu offers a good selection of other Vietnamese dishes. The bun bo hue is a nice option if you prefer something with more spice and stronger flavors, while the rice and vermicelli dishes provide alternatives to the usual noodle soup. The restaurant also offers familiar sides and drinks like Thai iced tea, which pair naturally with the meal. Service is generally quick and the restaurant has a busy, efficient style, especially during peak hours. The staff handles the steady flow of customers well, and the food comes out without much delay. The location makes it convenient for a casual meal, but the fast pace can sometimes make the experience feel a little rushed. Prices are also a bit higher compared to some other Vietnamese restaurants, especially considering the portion size and the lighter broth profile, which may not feel like the best value for what you get. Phở Pasteur is a convenient option for Vietnamese food in the area, especially if you are looking for a quick bowl of pho. The food is solid, but compared to other pho spots, the lighter broth and higher pricing make it harder to stand out. It works well for a casual meal, though there are other places nearby that offer a more memorable pho experience. For a straightforward, no-fuss stop when you are in the neighborhood, it fills the gap, but it does not quite reach the level of a destination pho spot.

Vietnamese cuisine is traditionally rooted in affordability, sharing an abundance of food, and enjoying good laughs with great company. By trying to force the concept into a high-end parallel, it just ends up feeling mediocre and hollow. The value simply isn't there--a single appetizer, one main entree, and three refreshments came out to a whopping $105. To make matters worse, the service was incredibly judgmental. Because our party of three only ordered that amount, the staff pretty much ignored us for the rest of the night after taking the order. The awkwardness started the absolute second we sat down. Before we could even settle into our chairs or get handed a menu, the waiter demanded to know what we wanted to drink. When we asked to see a menu first, he looked completely confused as to why we'd need one. After another staff member finally took our order, we sat there waiting for what felt like an eternity. When the food eventually arrived, they gave us sharing plates and chopsticks. We asked for a spoon to properly eat the claypot rice, and the waiter gave us another judging look. As Asians, we obviously know how to use chopsticks, but you objectively need a spoon to scoop the claypot SAUCE out of the pot! While the food itself is decent, the cramped atmosphere, poor hospitality, and inflated price tag mean I won't be rushing back. I might grab take out for the dumpling platter and cat fish rice pot but definitely not sitting in again.
