#1 banh mi
John Y.

i was walking back towards my parked car on the other side of Chinatown, decided to get a quick bite to share with my wife here. This place was decently busy as they have a dine in area and several folks who ordered take out from the kiosks. What a mistake. Service and decor - The decor is fine. The place looks fresh and clean at first glance, nothing concerning. The service on the other hand is what was severely disappointing. I placed my order at 1:50pm on the kiosk for 2 banh mi's and 6 egg rolls. We got our order at 2:20pm!!! The egg rolls were displayed right in front of my kiosk, already prepared and done. The banh mi was supposedly cold cuts (nothing to cook - more on this later). It took 30m? The guy that was in front of us waiting a long time complained and they finally gave him his order, about 25 minutes later...it was a iced vietnamese coffee!! Wow. Don't even go by the monitor that shows status. It keeps resetting and you will wait forever for your order. Food and menu - The kiosk order is good, convenient and a good fit with the newer generation who likes to avoid interaction. There were about 6-8 banh mi options and I was scanning for the traditional cold cut one and it was hard to find, but I settled on #1 Special Dac Biet...and some screenshots shows it says cold cuts. There are no cold cuts. There was 2 slices of thin meat. Was there even that white buttery stuff and pate inside? Debatable as I didn't see or taste any. It was very disappointing, especially after waiting 30m for this. The egg rolls were decent. I think its veggie cause I don't taste any meat. I don't know how long this place has been opened, but I'd pick something else. If you want the best banh mi, use those 30 minutes to drive down 93 south to Dorchester's Ba Le.

Wow what a great spot! Super fresh Banh Mi at a super great price. We got all this food for about $40. The beef Banh Mi was my favorite but the pork was also great. The fried veggie spring rolls were amazing. Also great Thai iced tea. Definitely a worth it spot.

I finally got around to trying the bahn mi here and the amount of food you get for the price cannot be beat: $7.50 for a giant bahn mi sandwich. They also have a combo special that is $15 for a bahn mi, a crispy spring roll, and a drink. I got the lemongrass pork bahn mi and two rice paper spring rolls and both were solid. I would prefer their pho in terms of flavors and ingredients, but their bahn mi is definitely a good deal for a filling meal. They have an easy-to-follow tablet ordering flow and a few tables for self-serve seating inside.

This place is so worth the price!! It's pretty affordable in my opinion with my total coming out to about $16. The portions are very generous and it comes with a lot of meat. I know pho is very well known for its aromatic flavor and this broth is *very* aromatic. Almost too aromatic for my preference I think they add too much of the star anise. So if that's your thing, please come try this, if not, try something else (like their sandwiches) or go to another pho place. However, overall the pho itself with the rice noodles and soft meat was delicious! The service was good, nothing much to say since you place your order on a kiosk, pretty much self-serving. They do keep the place very clean and tidy though. They have one bathroom and a sauce station! Definitely recommend this place!

Love this place!! Always a staple when I swing by Boston/Chinatown area - tried a few different Banh Mi's -- cold cut, lemongrass pork, beef. If you get the Banh Mi combo, it comes with a spring roll and also a drink too! Some space inside to sit, or can always take this to go. Highly recommend swinging by!!

Stopped in for the first time, and I am already dreaming of my next order. I ordered the Fancy pork & pork belly Bahn Mi combo which came with one spring roll and one drink - all for $16.00! The staff is very friendly and helpful at the front counter, but I skipped the line and ordered from the kiosk which was very quick and efficient. You can customize your Bahn Mi easily, removing or adding extra ingredients. I thought it was really cool that Vietnamese iced coffee and Thai iced tea are included in the combo meal drink options. That would normally be an added cost anywhere else. The Bahn Mi rolls have the perfect softness and crunch ratio which is ideal for this style roll. The pork belly is cooked perfectly and the veggies are fresh. I will be back to try the beef next!

Banh Mi Huong Que 7/2024

The banh mi at Banh Mi Huong Que were $7, plus 50 cents for the beef in 2024. Now in 2025 it is $7.50, plus $1 for beef. They accept credit cards, and tax is added after. They also offer Rice Bowls and Pho Noodle Soup. I ordered 3 subs to go. The bread lost its crisp during the hour and 20 min it took till I could sit down and enjoy my lunch. Tasted good though! During the pandemic, its predecessor closed shop, and the new business has flipped the space around a bit. There's a refrigerated case where you can grab a drink or dessert or something else. Previously, this was purely a take out joint, but they recently took over the jewelry store next door and so now they have some space to dine in. On another 2024 visit, I was ready to treat myself to a drink so I upgraded to their combo meal to add a Thai Ice Tea and a crispy roll. On this 2025 visit after their recent expansion, we were wanting Vietnamese subs with a dine in option. Currently, in Chinatown, I think Banh Mi Huong Que may be the only option. I went with lemongrass pork since they no longer offer my usual teriyaki or BBQ from its predecessor shop. I also mentioned to them an error with my last order, and they responded to my satisfaction. They call your name as your order is prepared, and you bust your table when you're done. A single unisex bathroom is now available for customers. They got me a roll of toilet paper when I asked, but I hope that they consider putting in a hook on the door for bags and purses at some point.

Chicken vermicelli bowl

My first time here and I work directly across the street. I believe it has been renovated the past year. This spot took over an old business that was next door, knocked down the walls, and expanded to put 6-10 tables for dine in. I had the chicken vermicelli bowl combo that comes with Vietnamese ice coffee and an egg roll. For $16? You can't really go wrong with that. The chicken was very tasteful. A little dry but decent. The nuoc cham (fish sauce) they provide is so good. I was very surprised. I will definitely come back and try their beef vermicelli bowl. Highly recommend trying this spot out if you work in area. There is no parking at all so good luck my friends!

We stopped by here late on a Friday night and it seemed relatively busy for the time of day. They had a lot of orders to go through, and after ordering off their kiosk, we waited about 10min for the banh mi to be done, which wasn't too long at all. The banh mi itself was ok, it had all the ingredients but didn't wow me. I wish there was a little more meat and veggies and sauce. Overall, I liked this spot for their easy to order service, but the food was just ok.

I live near this shop and it's a go to of mine for sure! They recently renovated and now have a small seating area and touchscreens for quick ordering. On this visit I got the lemongrass beef and it was so flavorful while still being very fresh with the variety of vegetables in the sandwich. I also frequently get their Vietnamese iced coffee which is so good and just the right amount of sweetness. I'll continue to come back due to how fresh the food tastes!

The small storefront belies a surprisingly modern operation inside, with 3 point-of-sale machines where you can place orders w/o any human interaction (like the sort in boba shops) and a tv with order statuses. For a late lunch, I got a cold cut bahn-mi ($7.50, $8.02 with tax). Compared to the other bahn mi place 2 blocks away, this place doesn't have premade sandwiches that you can grab in 30 seconds. They assemble it, which takes less than 5 minutes. Notably, the bread is still warm. Otherwise, it's a solid sandwich with pickles, pate, and filling of choice.

Came here on a Sunday evening around 6pm and was surprised to say the least. Coming from New York City banh mih for under 8 dollars seems quite reasonable, and it was definitely worth. When you enter you can order on two small kiosk or through the snack pass app. You can sit down to the right at a small area with 5 metal tables seating 2-4 each. There is minimal interaction with the staff and each table contains hoisin sauce, soy sauce and siracha. I wish they also had chili oil for the pho. The food came out within 9 mins and was delightful. Like always I covered my banh mi with sauce flavoring. The bread was near perfect and was nice and crunch. There was plenty of meat in my banh mi and veggies too, although I do wish more veggies were added.. All of this cost only 8 dollars which is an insane value in my opinion. The kiosk used mobile pay and accepts credit card. They also have ready to go salads and even a few desserts like flan in the fridge across the counter. I also bought two spring rolls for 1.50 each which were a great price in my opinion. I would recommend getting the combo meals, a banh mi, spring roll and drink with a 5 dollar upcharge on the banh mi. Overall, great cheap food, many options, and rapidly prepared. I would want to try new items here next time I am in the area.

The Vietnamese iced coffee was great! And the Banh Mi Bo was excellent. Be careful as it comes with hot peppers unless you ask to not include it. Highly recommend and berry cheap.
