the j.p. - packed full of tofu and great tasting sauces!
    Vijay N.

I was really happy with the vegetarian banh mi sandwich at this restaurant. I came right around noon on a Thursday, and there was no line! I was greeted warmly as soon as I walked in, and my order was ready very quickly! I was particularly impressed with the sandwich because a lot of sandwiches of this type can be quite dry. I found the flavoring in both the tofu and the sauces to be plentiful and deep. The only thing that could make it better would be that the toppings are placed at the bottom of the sandwich, and the tofu is placed on top, making it hard to get all of the flavors in a single bite. If the toppings and tofu were more evenly distributed, it would be truly amazing! I really enjoyed the ambience of sitting outside on Congress Street, very close to South Station or a short walk from the Seaport. I would definitely come back!

Came here after going to childrens museum. I like the self service kiosk, makes ordering super easy. What i really enjoyed was the childrens menu. It included a beverage and pocky with either a noodle bowl or rice bowl. Loved that. I personally had the szechuan spicy noodles. Portions are generous as well!

I loved bon me! I got the noodle salad with chicken and it was outstanding. I also got the pink lychee blossom drink and it was beautiful and delicious! This is a top tier fast casual option.

I would say the portion is big. But flavor is mediocre. I got japchae noodles and the seasoning is unbalanced. I can only taste the spicy sauce when I eat the noodles. The vegetables are mostly bland except for the bamboo. Texture of the whole dish is not balanced either. Most ingredients are sliced, but the chicken is cut into small cubes and it got broken up even further. They are hard to pick up and at the end, I had to use a spoon to scoop them out. There are 3 tablets for ordering which is convenient. They have plenty of seating inside. This place is self service.

Amazing spot for fusion Vietnamese/Asian fusion food! The pulled sandwich was sauced in a balanced way - it got rid of the gamey pork flavor and remained juicy. The Mayo sauce was perfect with the pork. My favorite part was the pork pate - so brilliant!! Like a fine dining touch to the fulfilling food truck food. Loved it - so original and tasty. Bok choy and pork noodle salad were awesome as wel. Generous portion and food prepared in no time. It highly recommend this spot

We had lunch at Bon Me today. It was a very nice meal! This cozy little restaurant was modern, had a nice atmosphere and was very clean. The service was also great. The staff was pleasant to deal with and got they got our food served quickly. I opted for Ali's Pho which came with roasted chicken, rice noodles, red cabbage, cilantro, and scallions. I gotta say, it was a big bowl of pure soupy goodness. The pho was served piping hot, and each spoonful was bursting with flavorful broth. The combination of the savory chicken, herbed broth, fresh cilantro and the subtle crunch of the red cabbage created a nice blend of taste and texture which I really loved. This place is well worth visiting. I would highly recommend Bon Me to anyone looking for a big bowl of tasty pho. You really can't go wrong here. Four stars!

After children's museum closed we went over to order take out. They packaged the to go very well. The pho broth was good- you can taste the anise, onion and beef flavor. They included allot of rice noodles and cilantro, cabbage. A lot of cooked chicken. There was a lime wedge in there as well- inspired by authentic pho soup. The kids meal wasn't bad. We chose rice noodles and it came with plenty of carrots and cucumbers. And on the side, sauce. My kids love rice noodles so it was great- they don't care for any sort sauce but i mist some of the soy on it . We got a cold so it was perfect remedy.

    Vegan bowl over brown rice.

The portions are huge. If I didn't skip lunch I would not have been able to finish it. I added bok choy on my bowl for extra greens. Very casual eatery where you order at the counter. Would definitely come again !

    Ali's "pho"

Worst pho I have ever had. This tastes like someone tried to recreate Campbells chicken noodle soup during a midwestern cook-off and ran out of time. If you are someone who has no idea what pho is supposed to taste like, then you're in luck! For context, along with cisco/U.S foods chicken thigh, they do not serve it with the standard fresh herbs (basil, cilantro, mint), limes, jalapeños, bean sprouts or hoisin sauce. It just comes out dry, scared and alone! Also, there is a handful of random cabbage on top. Neat.

We're here in a brisk day in Boston on our way back home. It's a walking distance from the south train station so it's a perfect place to have a hot meal on a cold winter's day. The place is so cozy and clean. I hate places that have this lingering stench lol. But anywho, food is amazing, I had to order more for me to take home to have later for dinner. Trust your crazy mama here... just visit this place and tell them I sent you!

We were crammed in the corner of the bar where we had to constantly tuck our arms in as the wait staff walked by with food and drinks for patrons of the restaurant. I also got the lovely view of the waitress area. Not exactly a mood setting location. Plus, our table was so tiny we could barely fit two dishes at a time and had to figure out how to keep our cocktails on the table. Also didn't help that I was tucked in because the table next to us was back to back with me. Also, had to listen to the man's obnoxiously loud conversation behind us because we were packed like sardines in the bar area. We booked a comfy table for my friend's bday dinner and they gave us a crappy bar table. I was very disappointed and displeased. Also, my high top chair was missing a leg cover and was super wobbly. I asked the manager about switching chairs and she said she would bring a new chair for me. She never did. I ended up switching my own chair with one from the bar. Not something I should have to do for a place that charged about $30 per "tapas" plate. We did bring this to the manager's attention at the end of our meal at which point we were just ready to leave. It was by far the most uncomfortable I have ever been at a supposedly higher end restaurant. The manager said if she had known sooner, she would've done something to rectify it. Almost sounded like she blamed us for not telling her soon. Although she was very well aware that they had screwed up some reservations. She should've fixed it then when she came around asking our name that was on our reservation to ensure they had marked their books correctly. She knew then that they had made a mistake but did nothing to fix it. And she was running around like crazy and our multiple attempts to get her attention during our short dinner there went unnoticed. Trust me, we tried to get her attention. So, I'm not taking the blame for their mistake. Sure she comped some food but $90 for a crappy experience still feels like a waste of time and money. We ended up walking over to Tuscan Kitchen to get a cocktail and ended up with a much better drink, much better service and actual room to breathe. Will be skipping Nautilus in the future and recommend you do the same.

Staff was very knowledgeable about each entree, and provided information about how entrees were cooked and served. They also had a "halvsies" menu of half-size portions (ideal portions for one or two diners). Started with the Mama Chang Pork Dumplings, which were excellent, and the cauliflower appetizer (a little spicy, but very good). Liked the udon noodles with chicken and bok choy, although a little less red chili pepper would have suited my tastes better (good for those who like a bit of zing to their food). The lettuce wrap chicken was well worth the 20-minute wait. Finished with the lemon ginger mousse, which was very light. The fortune cookie on the mousse was fresh and crisp, so good that some thought it might have been baked at Joanne Chang's Flour Cafe and Bakery. The finish was extra nice, with a red lucky envelope with chocolates accompanying the check, an orange at each table (signs for good fortune in the New Year), and red decorations hanging in the restaurant to create a festive setting. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share between the 4 of us - scallion pancake, bourbon chicken wings, spicy salmon rolls, pork belly buns, sliced beef, eggplant, hot n sour soup, golden potato and lemongrass soup. I think my favorite of those was the eggplant dish - perfectly cooked and flavorful with ginger and soy. Wings were good too. The soups were nice I liked the hot n sour one. The lemongrass soup was a creamy one quite tasty but also quite filling and rich. For entrees, we ordered the roasted soy glazed salmon, the Indonesian fried rice, bok choy and surf and turf noodles. Everything was good. We were all so full and also had leftovers. But decided to order dessert too - everyone loved the vanilla bean ice cream (the menu described it as a parfait) with orange granita - really generous too - 3 scoops of ice cream and the orange sorbet which was more granular than a sorbet more like very finely crushed ice. Very refreshing! The banana caramel crème brûlée was really good too - nice and creamy. The lemon ginger mousse was very creamy but I thought had a bit too much of ginger. I think the deserts were hands down everyone's favorite part of the meal despite everyone pretty much denying they wanted any! Service was very friendly by our server Julie who was delightful! When we walked into Legal, the place was dead, the music was awful, and the vibe was just not there. So we sat at the bar and grabbed a drink while searching for a place to get an actual dinner where we could find last-minute reservations. Shojo in Chinatown came up with great reviews and after looking at the menu and seeing that we could get a reservation, we headed over. It was a short walk from the Ritz and Chinatown is just such a fun place with great energy. When we walked in, we knew we had made the right call and were easily able to switch our reservation from a table to bar seats, which is always an added bonus. The place is low lit and the music is on the louder side, but nothing was excessive to the point that we didn't enjoy our time there. We ordered a variety of drinks while there - a Toki Highball draft, a spicy tequila drink with lemongrass, a few different types of Japanese whiskeys as well (they have a really extensive list). As far as food goes, they categorize their menu into Snacks, Baos, and Rice, Noodles, and Dumplings. There's a lot of vegetarian friendly options, which is always a plus for me. My highlights were the 7 vegetable stir fry, fried eggplant bao, edamame dumplings, and the Thai veggie spring rolls. The salt and pepper calamari was also really great. Everything was terrific and really unique. Service was good - not great, but they took notice of empty glasses and were quick to bring out food, so I have absolutely no complaints. Shojo is somewhere I'd absolutely return to when staying in the area, I'm really happy we all turned what would have been a very touristy, depressing experience into something with a WAY better vibe and time!

Both dishes came with the same noodles and were good, hearty portions, though nothing mind-blowing. Definitely on the very expensive side for what they are. Fair warning: the beef bulgogi is very spicy. For dessert, we shared the Basque cheesecake. The real standout, though, was the pistachio gelato with lemon curd that came with it. I had no idea that pairing could taste so incredible! Overall, a great meal with some real highlights--we'd definitely come back, but might stick to apps, drinks, and dessert next time.

The Bang Bang Noodles and Fried Rice were excellent, a nice contrast between a cold and hot carb dish. The chicken fingers were golden and the steak was so tender. The only thing is that I wish the portions were a bit bigger, but you can always order more. We ended the night with their strawberry shortcake and ice cream which was fantastic. They brought out the food to us in 3 shifts so we had a great time trying everything and chatting in between sessions. Highly recommend this spot for a fun dinner with friends.

Exactly what we needed after a trip of lobster rolls and fried food. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive! I went for lunch, so the vibes doesn't hit the same but I can see the evenings being amazing. I met family for an early lunch before I caught my flight back home. One of us has a nut and shellfish allergy and they were able to accommodate as best as they could, which I appreciate for an Asian restaurant. We ordered tea, which I enjoyed. We were started off with a cold cabbage in chili sauce and I was pleasantly surprised. It's got vinegar and chili oil, so you have the mix of tangy, spicy, and add to the crunch- Wow. I went home and tried to look up a recipe because I loved it so much. We also shared the wonton with chili sauce which was delicious as well. The boiled chicken wasn't bad but it is a simple cold dish- so don't expect boiled chicken to be a warm dish. The sweet and sour pork was good. Next time, I'd like to try the steam egg and truffle. I probably wouldn't order the chicken again, but give me the cabbage starter and wonton in chili sauce all day, everyday.

XO Seafood Udon: The restaurant specifically labeled it "wok-tossed," and it truly had a wonderful wok-hei鑊氣 (wok aroma), with an irresistible fragrance as soon as it arrived at the table. The XO sauce was extremely rich, sweet and umami, and the udon noodles were soft on the outside and bouncy on the inside; the sauce was glossy, smooth, but not greasy, allowing it to coat the noodles evenly and infuse them with flavor. The shrimp, squid, and scallops were all fresh and large, making for a very satisfying meal. The shrimp, in particular, were coated with a thin layer of starch before being pan-fried, adding layers of texture and locking in the juices. This plate removed the scallions and onions to suit my taste, and if you like spicy food, adding a little chili oil would greatly enhance the flavor. The restaurant had an elegant and refined ambiance, and the service was attentive, making it a very relaxing place.

WOW! An awesome experience!!! I went here for my birthday…read morewith my parents and boyfriend, and this had been on my want to go list for years, and I am so glad I can finally cross it off! When I made the reservation online I put that the occasion it was for was my birthday- I notice that most restaurants don't pay attention to this on OpenTable, but Fuji definitely did! We were seated quickly and with no issue at all, despite it being pretty crowded. The vibe was intimate and classy- a great spot for date night, or for dinner with your parents. At our table was a card (in the pictures) which was such a nice touch and was a great start to the meal. Our waitress was awesome, and it seemed like there was a floor manager too that was making sure everyone was happy. It felt like the staff truly cared and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time and experience. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times, and was very helpful with the menu. Speaking of the menu, I was very pleased to see the amount of vegetarian dishes! You don't see that often at Japanese restaurants! For our appetizers we got the lobster Rangoon and spicy edamame. Technically the tofu is an app but you would never guess that from the portion size. The edamame were outstanding! They were spicy as expected and were so tasty. We demolished the whole bowl. The Rangoons were also amazing- the chunks of lobster were divine. I myself love lobster and crab Rangoons, so a combo?! Amazing. Both the edamame and lobster Rangoons are can't misses. For our entrees/ mains we got the crispy soy noodles, miss Waldorf roll, sweet potato roll, tofu, and fried rice. The miss Waldorf roll is amazing, and I can not wait to go back and get more sushi. Truly the best sushi I have had in boston. There are other upscale sushi restaurants I have been to that charge a pretty penny but taste like grocery store sushi. Fuji is not one of those- it was truly exceptional sushi. The sweet potato roll was also delicious! I am very picky about my sweet potato rolls and had one that I have dreamt about since I had it in 2022. I have finally found a sweet potato roll that matches my standards. The crispy soy noodles were also amazing! They reminded e of one of my favorite restaurants when I was a kid and it filled me with such joy to eat something with that flavor. The serving size was pretty big too, and they were not shy on the shrimp! Note though, they were a tad oily (I added a little bit of soy sauce to balance it out). The fried rice was also very good and tasted like a good bowl of comfort fried rice. My parents ate it with the tofu and liked it! The only dish I would want some change in is the tofu- it wasn't bad but compared to the other dishes it definitely lacked the flavor punch you get in the rest of the dishes. The sauce was okay with it. After dinner our waitress brought a slice of vanilla crepe cake and ice cream! This was such a nice touch and it was SO good!!!!! It was the first time I ever had crepe cake but I loved it! I'm not sure if they have a dessert menu or not (we weren't asked if we wanted to see one) but I would love to go back and get that cake again! Overall I am beyond happy that I picked this spot for my birthday- I had an amazing experience and amazing food. Will definitely be back!
