Was in the area shopping for winter wears and saw this place. Restaurant is very nice looking inside. That caught our attention so we decided to stop in for dinner. The staffs were very friendly. We ordered the followings: - Pho Bowl (Portion was good. Broth very tasty, meat was good) - Bánh Khọt (We loved this appetizer. Crunchy, the shrimp was fresh. This goes well with the dipping sauce) - Grilled Chicken Rice Plate (Chicken was soft and flavorful) - Grilled Beef Fine Vermicelli (Beef was tasty and tender. Goes perfectly with the Fine Vermicelli) We had a great dining experience. Food was good, ambience was nice. Glad we stopped by. Recommend it if you are in the area.

Wanted to love this place, and it was nice, the service was GREAT... I just wasnt overwhelmed with the foods... Also, I went over a week ago and the tip (on my card) still hasnt charged me and the name that my bank charged against wasnt the name of the location - sketchy to me, but Im all over it! The rolls were bland, I need mint, Basil, Something... It was just meh! The pho was great, my gf stated the portion was small, The wok beef, OMFG it was GOOD, the veggies and flavor was what saved this place. Everything else was just ok. The Vermicelli bowl was good but the noodles were too cooked and super mushy!!! The vibe is cute, and the prices werent bad, just wasnt wow'd!

It's pretty good what can I say. $19 for the meal, nice cozy ambience plenty of seatings. Parking is tough. Was quickly served. Came with a group of 5 and had no trouble being seated on a Friday evening. I enjoyed the sheet of vermicelli noodles and thought the portion was a good size.

Really like the ambiance of this place. The interior is very inviting and clean. Staff was attentive. The food is really good and really fresh. The grilled beef was awesome. It may be my favorite dish here. You can't go wrong if you want to eat some food that doesn't sit heavy, especially on a hot day. The flavors are wonderful. The drinks are very refreshing as well. I will return to this place.

    SALMON - CLAYPOT

Lunch was fantastic. Everyone in our party enjoyed their lunch entree. While some got pho or grilled shrimp, I got the clay pot salmon. The salmon was delectably cooked, very tender. The sauce in the dish was very umami flavored and went well with the side of steamed broken rice. Even though I finished 70% of my meal, I wanted the leftovers because it was too good to go to waste! The ambarella juice was a great accompaniment. It has a sweet, sour, tangy taste. I have never tasted the raw fruit but the juice got me curious. Ambiance was bright and airy and service was attentive and quick. In fact, it came as a surprise when the staff offered to box my leftovers as I was asking them for a to-go container. They did forget to include my rice but when I went back to ask, they quickly found it. Overall, I'll say even though I only tried one dish here it was so good that I'd like to be back to eat just that again!

Delicious find at Assembly Row! A welcome addition to the fairly culinarily narrow Assembly, and a good one at that. The interior is spacious, high ceilings and fashionable decor. The food is tasty (especially the vermicelli bowls and pho, the broth is so delicious and fresh), and price? Honestly totally fair for the location and quality of food. Waiters were attentive, I think my husband and I have found our go to Vietnamese restaurant in the Somerville area!

My new favorite Vietnamese restaurant! A Nam is a must try and adds diversity and touch of flavor to the Assembly Row area. They serve authentic Vietnamese cuisine and is in a great location. There is plenty of parking in the garage or lot close by and central to several shops. The restaurant is extremely clean and has a modern, fresh, bright and airy vibe to it. Perfect spot for a bite to eat with friends or a date night. Service is always quick and friendly. I got the Beef Pho and it came out hot and fresh. You get a side of bean sprouts and lime along with condiments on the side to spice up the soup. I also got the egg-rolls and it was crispy and tasty. The sugar cane juice is my go to drink. I'll definitely be back!

Cute Vietnamese place in Assembly Square, definitely more polished and modern than what I'm used to. That's reflected in the prices and menu too. My usual pho dac biet was not on the menu, nor was bun bo hue; instead it seemed like they only included dishes that would be more widely "palatable" to the general public. The cheapest pho bowl was also 18 or 19 bucks which is pretty steep. We got spring rolls, chicken skewers, and pho -- specifically I got pho tai. Spring rolls and the skewers were great, no complaints. They were presented very prettily and tasted fresh and flavorful. The beef in my pho was excellent, super tender and fresh. I got the fresh rice noodles which were a 1 dollar surcharge, and they were nice but perhaps toooo soft? I think I would have preferred regular noodles, but that's not the fault of An Nam. The pho broth itself was a little off for me. There was a distinct strong savory aroma that overpowered the flavors of the spices which made me think they added a ton of MSG. Now I am actually a fan of MSG but it was too much in this case. I didn't feel the need to add any hoisin sauce or Sriracha though, so that's a plus. Overall it wasn't a bad experience and I think An Nam would scratch the pho itch if you lived nearby, but I would still prefer the pho places in Dorchester. I would say the pho was 3.5/5, apps were 5/5, so overall I'd give it a 4 ish.

Second time here and it was just as delicious! They have a moderate amount of seating and we were seated immediately, which was perfect for a quick lunch. The service was a little slower but the staff were very friendly and thoughtful. We ordered a variety of dishes, but I think I enjoyed their skewer platter the most! This platter consisted of various meats soaked in a yummy marinade and grilled to perfection. The meat was chewy, sweet, and super tasty. I also enjoyed their pho, perfectly portioned for one. I wish there were a couple more topping in this pho, but it was still a nice and easy meal that I really liked. I will happily come back again if I'm in the area!

A little on the more expensive side for Vietnamese food, but on par with what you would expect for Assembly Square. I tried to clay pot catfish with came with a bowl of rice to accompany it and it was great - only slightly annoying because of the fish bones. Portion was filling enough for me. Restaurant itself is bright and open and clean.

Beef Noodle: 10/10 Beef Stew: 9/10 Pork Vermicelli: 7/10 Crispy Egg Rolls: 7/10 This restaurant is located in Assembly Row so you have plenty of free 3 hr parking options! The interior is so clean and cute. I was skeptical when I first looked at the menu because the price of their dishes were a bit more expensive than other Vietnamese restaurants that I frequent, however the soups blew me away! My first visit I ordered the beef noodle that comes with egg noodles. The broth is so flavorful and rich, and the beef shank falls right off the bone. Loved every bit of this soup and even took home leftovers. My second visit I ordered the beef stew and was equally surprised by how flavorful and rich the soup base is. I also had this soup with egg noodles, which I usually prefer over vermicelli because it doesn't get soggy as quickly. There's plenty of meat in the soup and I also took home leftovers The crispy egg rolls were yummy too but in general I'm not a huge fan of egg rolls. There's a good amount of meat in the rolls. My friend for the pork vermicelli bowl. One comment she had was that the noodles were still warm. Not sure if that's how it should be, but at other restaurants, the noodles usually are not warm. The noodle texture was also softer than expected. However the flavors of the pork really stand out and overall this dish was also pretty good! I will be back to try their pho soups!

This place definitely got an upgrade from when I first visited. They added more plates to the menu and let me tell you it didn't disappoint! Shout out to Koi, our server, who recommended very delicious plates! The ambiance is defined as vintage meets modern aesthetic.

That might be because of its location..it's kind of tucked away and the first time it took us a while to find. I ordered my usual flight, but they were out of stickers :( They had some unique beers amongst them one called Belgian Waffles which is a blonde ale with maple syrup and cinnamon. This was dessert or breakfast, depending on your perspective, in a glass. I also got a hazy IPA, a peanut butter stout, and a hefe. All were really good. For lunch I got some honey jerk wings. These were cooked to perfection. Crisp skin and juicy meat. The problem was the flavor. They had the honey but no jerk. There was no spice at all. Service is very friendly and they are always accommodating in terms of where we would like to be placed on the patio. Their beer selection is decent, my husband always enjoys one of their lagers or IPAs. I would really appreciate it if their cider selection was improved. They usually have at least one good cider but more recently, they have been "out." With so many great cideries in New England, it's disappointing that they don't have a collab with one of them. I mean Downeast is just just across the Harbor!!! With that being said, the food is awesome. Our favorite go tos include: the jalapeño arancini, the roni' roni' pizza, the cobb salad, and the fish tacos. I will say for having "roni" twice in the name, they could throw some more on top of the pizza. Regardless, the dough is perfect every time and we always get it with a side of the spicy ranch. Cannot wait to come back and enjoy another meal here! If you're in the area stop by to check it out or if you're heading to the garden for a game, plan to stop by before. It's so worth it.

We had already eaten but wanted to grab a drink and couldn't pass up trying a bubble tea spot. So as you'd expect this review is solely for just drinks. That was a positive but also could be a quick way to make your price sky high with most additions being an extra dollar. They give you an order number that will be called when your order is ready. As we were waiting a worker did ask if we were waiting and for our order number and then they seemed to put a rush on making it and they apologized for the wait. Which honestly I did not think we had a long wait but appreciated the staff still. Overall the space for waiting is limited but won't hold that in a negative light since it's a food hall. We walked into a space that mixes communal tables, stadium-style seating, and smaller spots to sit, making it a place where you can stop in for a quick drink or stay longer with a laptop. The interior design is one of the biggest highlights, giving the cafe a more elevated experience compared to a typical coffee shop. The tiered seating in particular creates a visual dynamic that makes the room feel more intentional than your standard coffee counter. The drinks are the main focus here, especially the matcha, hojicha, and espresso-based options. We ordered the hojicha latte, which was one of the strongest items on the menu, with a deep roasted flavor and a smooth texture. The matcha has a more traditional earthy profile and leans less sweet, which works well if you prefer a more authentic matcha taste. The drinks are on the expensive side, but the quality of the ingredients and preparation make it feel more like a specialty cafe experience rather than a standard coffee stop. The food and dessert options add another reason to visit, with items like the egg sandwich, quiche, macarons, and hojicha desserts available depending on the day. The menu is smaller compared to a full brunch cafe, but it pairs well with the drinks and gives the visit more of a cafe-and-pastry feel. Service is friendly and the staff are knowledgeable about the drinks, which helps when choosing between the different Japanese tea options. The cafe can get busy, and seating is limited compared to the number of people who come through, but the layout gives it a unique character. Ogawa Coffee works well for specialty coffee and tea lovers looking for a more intentional cafe experience in Boston, especially if you enjoy Japanese-style drinks and a thoughtfully designed space.
