Banh Mi with Crispy Pork Belly
    Tianna D.

Their Burlington location has been on my food list to try. Didn't realise they opened a location in Bow Market till this past weekend and tried them same time. They're a bit on the pricier side - The base price for the pho, banh mi and noodle bowl are vegetarian, if you want meat it'll cost more. My husband and I got the Mixed Pho with sirlion, beef balls, tendon and tripe and the Banh Mi with Crispy Pork. The portions are big so we were able to split each to eat. It was my first time trying the beef balls and I they're not for me- too gamey and my first time having cow tripe - I liked this. The banh mi with crispy pork belly was SO good - this is a must try.

I'm so happy Viet Citron is now at Bow Market, much closer to me The food never disappoints. Authentic Vietnamese dishes with consistent quality across all locations. We had the Bún Bò Huế, crispy pork belly bánh mì, chili lemongrass pork ribs, and Bánh Hỏi Bowl with grilled sirloin, all absolutely delicious and so comforting, it feels like home. Drinks like the salted lime and bold Vietnamese iced coffee perfectly complement the food. The service was quick, and even though the indoor space is small, there's plenty of outdoor seating with a beautiful atmosphere. Check their weekly specials so you don't miss any seasonal favorites! Highly recommend for anyone craving real Vietnamese flavors around Boston.

The food is outstanding every time we come- sirloin steak is fantastic as is chicken pho and fried tofu. Owners are lovely people, we are lucky to have them in our neighborhood! Visit every week.

Bahn Mi: one with chicken (bottom) and one with sirloin (top). Passionfruit jasmine tea (bottom) and Vietnamese iced coffee (top).

Service and food was delicious. We were sad they did not have lines for the limeade, but the Vietnamese coffee and passionfruit jasmine tea were so refreshing with the Bahn Mi. We had ours with the chicken and the other with the sirloin steak - both seasoned well and with the perfect char taste pairing well with everything inside the sandwich. Bread was perfectly toasted, yet soft, perfect portion of veggies. Will need to come back for the limeade and sit outside again - perfect weather to enjoy Bow Market.

Not sure why there are low reviews. The pho we had was incredibly rich and filling- made with bone broth and delightful herbs. I had pho at a different restaurant earlier in the week, and there's honestly no comparison. The limeade is excellent too. Tastes like a mojito sans the rum. The mint is quite flavorful. A bit pricey, but probably on par with the other bow market restaurants. The portion of the pho may look small, but it's actually quite a large amount. I used to enjoy the original Viet Citron, when I lived in Vermont, and I'm psyched they're in MA now!

Definitely paying the bow market tax when you come here! Food was decent, but nothing extraordinary. The outdoor seating is nice though when the weather is good. Lots of herbs and sauce.

They've got great banh mi here. It may not be very authentic but it has the best features of a westernized spin on the sandwich.

Most of the Vietnamese restaurants in the Boston/Greater Boston area are typically older. But now the question is, is the food actually worth the higher price tag? I would say yes! Service is on the slow side but food was surprisingly quite all right. These are the dishes we ordered today: - cha gio/fried egg rolls - Banh khot/ crispy shrimp cakes - limeade (x2) - pho tai bo vien / pho with eye round steak + meatballs - grilled beef rice plate - an order of nem nuong on the side Thoughts: Food took a minute to arrive to our table. I'd say it was roughly 20ish minutes. It seemed like their cha gio/fried eggrolls were freshly made to order? They were not greasy and stale like they normally are when ordered at a restaurant (premade). I really liked the egg rolls from here, though it had more wood sear mushroom + vermicelli noodles in it rather than meat for filling. It came with lots of veggies, which I appreciate! Banh khot/crispy shrimp cakes were fire! This dish isn't readily available at most other restaurants so we definitely had to get them to try. They used whole shrimp and I thought that the portion size was great. Normally they are much smaller & use smaller shrimp (at least the ones I've tried at other spots). Great flavor & tasted delish. ***We ended up asking for some fish sauce with peppers, we felt like the nuoc mam they gave us was missing something. Fish sauce w/ peppers was much better! Highly recommend asking for this. *** Limeade: For me, it tasted like lemonade. Sweeter than usual. Not the best. The pho tai bo vien was not bad. The broth is on the lighter side. I was expecting the eye round steak to be the thin, round cut of beef but they actually gave thicker cuts of beef. I enjoyed it & dipped with a mixture of hoisin + sriracha. The grilled beef rice plate was great. Our server suggested to get the beef over the pork rice plate, which we were skeptical at first. From our experience, we avoid ordering grilled beef because it is always made too dry so pork is often the better option. The grilled beef was not dry here & we gave it a thumbs up. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at An Nam. The restaurant is super clean, aesthetically pleasing interior, and fresh + delicious food. Can't ask for more honestly. Would like to see the service improve & it'd be nice if the food could be made a bit quicker but we were pleased with the quality overall... so can't complain haha.

Good for business lunch, family dinners etc. Their presentations are clean, good color with the veggies. pricing was a bit higher than expected but that's subjective. We ordered the following: + com thit nuong bo Rice plate with grilled beef. It was actually very filling, good thicker cuts of beef. Yes grilled medium to well done but not super dry like a lot of other places. At the other spots i typically get marinated pork instead of the beef. Good portion of protein, tender for the style of beef and the cook. Comes with rice and veg. I asked for nuoc mam (fish sauce with chili) The Nuoc Mam that comes standard caters for the demographic probably. I like mine with chili's and garlic etc. + Pho Tao Bo Vien. pho noodle soup with round eye beef and beef meatballs. Broth was a bit light in depth probably just needed more time to steep the flavor. Actual cuts of beef that wasn't just a super thin cuts from most others. Good portion which compensated for the price. + crispy shrimp cake Banh Khot i enjoyed this because they use a larger mold for it, giving bigger cakes with FULL size shrimp on each one and not baby shrimp like the ones you find typically. Nice light crisp, flavor was good, dunk em in the fish sauce and YUM. + cha gio eggrolls - enjoyable i personally prefer a more pork ratio to the woods ear vermicelli/veg mix. However still a good egg roll, crispy outside, tasted freshly made, not sitting in a pan all day and heated up making them soggy or extra oily. Not my favorite though. + Thit nem nuong Viet pork sausage, not over grilled, moist and just a nice addition on the side. + 2x limeades. This is typically my goto drink at any Viet establishment since I was a kid. This one I had was a bit more on the sweeter side with a more tart after-note from the lime. Not bad though. Pleasant surprise before our paint & sip event!

The restaurant had a really great ambiance, and I enjoyed being able to watch the chefs prepare the food. We ordered the ginger cabbage salad, the coconut eggplant, and the duck noodles. I would have loved to have tried their sushi grade salmon, but they were unfortunately sold out for the night. So I would recommend arriving earlier if you would like to try it. My favorite dish was the duck noodles. I liked the freshness of the basil in the pesto, and the tenderness and juiciness of the duck. The coconut eggplant was a close second favorite. The coconut flavor was delicious, and I liked the nuts on top for crunch. I also found the ginger cabbage salad to be yummy, but not as much as a standout as the other two dishes. Overall, I really enjoyed this spot for dinner. I liked how fresh everything was, and how the dishes felt very light and healthy. It's definitely a bit on the pricier side, but I found it to be very worth it. I definitely come back and try their lattes and other dishes.

You order at the counter, find a seat, and the food comes out pretty quickly. We had the summer rolls and the vegan ramen. The summer rolls were fresh and flavorful, and the peanut sauce was especially good. The vegan ramen was also enjoyable, with good-quality ingredients and a satisfying broth. My only real critique is that I wish there were more options to add heat. I tend to like my noodle soups on the spicier side, and I would have loved more chili oil, hot sauce, or other spicy condiments to customize the flavor. There was also SO much broccoli and that really took over the soup, I wish there was a bit more variability or balance in the veggies. Overall, the food was tasty, the quality was solid, and the service was fast.

The inside is modern and bright, and it's great for either sitting down or grabbing takeout. You order through a kiosk, and sometimes the summer rolls aren't listed on it. I usually ask if they have any made that day, and I always grab one order if they do. They have great lunch specials from 11AM to 2PM that come with a drink. My go-to is the Banh Hoi Bowl with Crispy Pork Belly. The pork belly comes in huge chunks, and when you get those extra crispy pieces, it's a real treat. I'm still testing out the drinks to find my favorite, the Fresh Salty Limeade is a little too mild for me and the Passionfruit Jasmine Iced Tea is okay. Parking is easy, with spots right in front and wrapped around to the back in the lot they share with a clinic. Overall Service: The service here is always great, and everyone is friendly. I recently had a newer girl, or maybe I haven't seen her before working, who was telling me about the specials. She made them sound so good that I'm definitely ordering one on my next visit.
