I come to Somerville for a visit. What a pleasant surprise! I love the latte and chia pudding! They are so good!

I came here on a whim and arrived to a small line but crowded cafe. They had their menus high up on the walls with traditional coffee beverages, tea, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and a yogurt menu. I was sad to not see any specialty coffee/lattes. Although, the iced coffee and cold brew were good. The breakfast sandwich was the star of the show though, the Egg & Feta sandwich was perfectly balanced with greens, feta, fluffy egg and delicious bread. I was happy to see they had a few tables outside because inside was crowded and I was there alone and didn't want to take up an entire indoor table. read more

Cute little brunch spot! They are very busy and the space is small, so smaller groups are preferable. Really enjoyed their lemon cake - it was moist with a strong kick of lemon zest. The market sandwich's fig jam was a nice sweet contrast to the salty prosciutto. I only wish the bread wasn't cold and there was less goat cheese. Matcha lattes were pretty average. Staff were nice. There has always been a long line out the door here when we've walked by on weekends, and our visit was no different. Luckily, the line moved pretty fast, and we also got our food pretty quickly after. We originally wanted to dine in, but it was so crowded inside from the constant flow of people ordering and waiting near the counter that we decided to take out instead. "The market" sandwich (prosciutto, goat cheese, arugula, and fig jam on focaccia) was a perfect mix of sweet and salty flavors and a great portion size for just $11. The egg and feta breakfast sandwich (scrambled eggs, tomato, arugula, and feta on a brioche bun) was a lot smaller and less unique in flavors, but also good value at $7. Three figs is a wonderful place for coffee and breakfast. Their menu is affordable and tasty! Love their smoothies and their egg feta brioche breakfast sandwich is so fantastic. Staff are friendly! Outdoor seating is offered and they have a separate side of the restaurant for online orders to help when it gets crowded/busy. Saturday morning was definitely a busy time to go, but we loved our experience here!! We came at the recommendation of multiple friends (one of which claimed this place houses the best barista-- EVER) This isn't a huge space, but they have a no computer rule, meaning people aren't lingering for forever which is nice! Sandwiches were yummy (excellent pepper biscuit) and the lavender biscuit was standout!! The black drip coffee had a fruity end note, but great complex flavor. Absolutely deserving of the Best Cafe in Somerville title! The line can be daunting but the staff work hard to keep it flowing and delivery high quality food and drinks! I doubt I'll ever be disappointed on any future visits. Food: The drinks were very refreshing and a great wake up jolt of caffeine. I was intrigued by the espresso soda and I was not disappointed. It was such a nice blend of fruity flavors that slide perfectly into a familiar coffee taste. The sweet ricotta toast and the egg cheddar sandwich were amazing! The sourdough and ciabatta were the stars and their great bready textures made for perfect vehicles. Service: The staff worked like a well oiled machine but still offered great hospitality! Atmosphere: The popularity does cause the cafe to be busy but everyone was very respectful of one another's space so it wasn't an overwhelming crowd. We had the sausage breakfast sandwich with a flaky black pepper biscuit, juicy and flavorful sausage patty, and just the right amount of cheese. I would eat this everyday if I could. The strawberry rhubarb bun was just out of the oven and paired perfectly. Attentive service staff and a cozy space. Their chia pudding is definitively creative, delicious and balanced with a creamy flavor, and fluffy texture. Their bean selection is ensured with joy and lattes radiate grace and delicate balance. I find the inside to be cozy and welcoming, the outside is deliciously wonderful to sit at in the sunshine. The team are wonderfully kind with friendly service. My friends have tried their sandwiches and always rave about the focaccia - I have yet to try the granola but let me know if you do, I consider it each time. Big fan! read more

Very happy with my visit here. The cafe itself is small and cozy. Not many tables so if you come on a weekend, be prepared to wait. Both indoor and outdoor seating (while the weather is still decent at least). I ordered the egg & feta sandwich. It came on a brioche bun with egg, spinach, and a feta spread (I ordered mine without tomato). The eggs were fluffy and light, the brioche bun was soft and airy, and the feta spread was delicious and added a lot of flavor. To drink I ordered the cortado, which was good as well. (Note that you can't mobile order hot drinks for some reason.) I mobile ordered so I can't comment on the service except to say that my order was completed quite quickly considering how busy they were. read more

The first time I came here was immediately after a terrible cross country red eye back in 2018 before a full day of driving and meetings and it was the perfect place to get a breather. I've been a fan ever since. The staff are always nice and the service is fast. It's a bright clean space, although it's fairly small so when it's busy you might have to wait if you want to sit down. The coffees are good, and the food is delicious. On our most recent visit I got the BLT for the first time and would recommend it as a must try! read more

Enjoyed a super cute late breakfast here this past weekend! I was expecting it to be packed considering it was right around lunch ish time, but was pleasantly surprised! It was pretty crowded and you do need to be vigilant to grab a table during busy times. The food, coffee, and vibes were excellent! I got the pepper biscuit and my friend got the egg feta sandwich. We both got lattes mine hot and my friend's iced. The biscuit sandwich was delicious and I loved the biscuit- it was soft and buttery and flaky. The latte was also lovely. My favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood! Great people, ambiance, and food. They have a completely separate door for picking up online orders so you don't have to wait in line (and there's usually a line out the door). Although I always get an iced latte here, I can taste how fresh the espresso is and I appreciate that they're able to do half-caf as an option as I'm very sensitive to caffeine. The pastries are equally as yummy and rotate weekly so there's always something new to discover when I order through the app. Special shoutout to the pepper biscuit though...I can eat that with ANYTHING!! They have outside seating but in the summer you need to be there early. So, so good. One of those places that makes me wish I lived a bit closer, within walking distance. We came right around the brunch rush but if you're willing to wait around for a few minutes, chances are good you'll snag some seats inside or one of the tables outside. Though the menu of options is on the smaller side, everything is fresh and made from scratch. Had to try both a sweet and a savory option, and went with the market sandwich (with fig jam, goat cheese, prosciutto, arugula on ciabatta) and the apple cider donut muffin. The sandwich was delicious, all the flavors melding (come on, there's no way that particular combination is not going to work), and while I think it might have worked better on sourdough, the ciabatta held everything together well, with nothing falling out. The donut muffin was also tasty, if very messy to eat - the sugar crystals sprayed everywhere. I loved the cake-y texture, though the actual apple cider flavor didn't really shine through. The egg sandwiches looked so good! Would try the pepper biscuit next time. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the mood for breakfast/brunch. No WiFi and no computers allowed. read more

I first tried 3 Little Figs during the summertime even it was hot outside, we went a bit past noon into the brunch service. The restaurant is a small neighborhood breakfast stop located in Somerville, MA. There is street parking on both sides of Highland Ave. My family ended parking about two blocks away since it was Sunday morning and the moment we got to the restaurant, the place was already so packed. Only outdoor seating remained and the sun was scorching. We changed for indoor seating the moment we saw it became available. The interior is very small. Not meant for groups larger than four as you will struggle with finding tables. I really enjoyed their sandwiches and because I missed breakfast, I ordered three. I ordered the turkey apple brie, the market sandwich, and the ham and cheese for the kids. I purposely listed them in my order of preference with the turkey, apple, brie sandwich being my favorite. I love there thick cut slices of sandwich bread. I would totally drop by for a sandwich, grab and go kind of thing if I was in the area. The famous lavender scone is huge! Larger than expected and worth the trip. The cappuccino and coffee was a no for me though. I'll have to go to Starbucks. Dropping one star because there was hair in the Greek yogurt specialty that I ordered. The server apologized and went to the kitchen. Less than a minute later she came back out with the same bowl of yogurt, the hair removed. Did she just plucked it out with her hands? She came back out in less than a minute which makes me doubt that this was a new yogurt that was brought out since I had asked for diced strawberries and they were sold of of strawberries smoothies after my order was put in. I am very disappointed. I wouldn't judge the entire restaurant by the action of one but that put a damper on the whole experience. I doubt I will be coming back soon. The savory ricotta toast was also top tier. I was a bit hesitant to try it since I associate ricotta with sweet, but I went out of my comfort zone. The latte was also solid. It was very busy, with the line out the door, but we luckily got a table inside away from the heat. I came on a Wednesday around 12:30 and it wasn't insanely crowded but there was definitely a line and people waiting for tables inside. I ordered online which you pickup at a separate door. It was ready pretty quickly (10-15 min). They have a great ordering system and pickup area. There were a few small tables in the online area that weren't taken so I would pop over there if it's crowded in the main room! Nice menu, wide selection of baked goods, sandwiches, drinks, etc. The pepper biscuit sandwhich was great. Definitely a step or two above your average breakfast sandwich. I really loved the pepper flavor in the biscuit which was perfectly flaky and doughy in the center. Eggs were cooked nicely, super fluffy. And it was only $8 ($6 without the addition of bacon)! Was intrigued by the apple donut muffin so had to give that a try too. Tasted exactly how it sounds. The perfect morning treat! We were a little disappointed with their pastries because both were not so good and dry with cheap texture. I came here for breakfast at about noon. The cafe is set up really cute, with an outdoor covered seating area, and they take your order at the window. They have a table with plastic ware and water outside, and a water bowl if you're walking by with your pup! My friend ordered an egg & feta sandwich, with bacon added. He said it was amazing. I ordered the peppered biscuit sandwich but since they were out of biscuits, I opted for the brioche and it was out of this world. Seriously, the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Fresh, cheddar cheese, fluffy peppered eggs and a buttery brioche roll. I asked for salt & pepper on the side, and I was pleased that they use Himalayan pink salt! We ordered the sweet ricotta toast, with whipped ricotta on some delicious, thick toast with cinnamon and honey on top, which was the first time either of us tried it, and it was phenomenal. Amazing breakfast/brunch place. Highly recommend and the cashier was super nice. A good variety of pastries. I got the chai muffin but there were other wacky flavors that you wouldn't find at other bakeries. Cold brew was good. I got the black pepper biscuit with a sausage for $8 which isn't bad. The biscuit was a little drier than I would've liked but the taste and freshness was there. The biscuit came with cheese and scrambled egg. I added on the sausage for $2 (originally the sandwich is $6) and it was good but nothing special. Parking is a bit weird cause you need to street park and the inside is kind of packed most times cause there isn't a lot of seating. Don't bring your laptop to do work because this is not that type of coffee shop. Will be back to try the other menu items. read more
