Michette is a French bakery in Somerville, Massachusetts, known for its creative pastries and breads. It has received national recognition which was why we visited. Metered street parking was available. The lines moved fairly quickly when we visited. My raspberry matcha latte had to be made twice so the wait was a bit longer than usual. While I waited, I ended up getting back in line and ordering more pastries. The matcha latte was excellent, not too sweet. The pizza dough was amazing. I literally engulfed the entire chocolate chip pastry and forgot to let my husband try a piece. All of the pastries were delightful. I can see why they received national attention as one of the best bakery. If they were closer to my home, I would be in trouble. See my pictures!

Ordered a raspberry matcha latte, black sesame cookie, guava roll, canelle, sweet corn Madeline. I also tried some of my friends orange blossom brioche. Everything was absolutely amazing The raspberry matcha was a little tart. Cute counter only cafe , would love to come again!

I recommend for anyone - there was a line at 11 am Sat morning but went quickly. Staff was kind and efficient. Good vegan / Dairy Free options, I saw three or four, not sure about their breads. I loved the banana bread (v) because it had some chai type spices and anise!! Matcha was lovely and solid (oat milk)

One of the best bakeries in Boston. The croissant was especially fantastic - buttery, flakey, and just a little crispy. I can't wait to go back soon!

Most pastries are great, the chocolate baguettes was good but nothing special. They also had 4 vegan items, my friend said his vegan cinnamon bun was great.

One of the better croissanteries (and if that wasn't a word, it is now) in a small shop on Broadway just off McGrath Highway. Challenging but achievable street parking. Nowhere to sit, so another challenge. Good selection of croissants and croissant-adjacent items like caneles and pain swisse. Friendly staff; no pretension. My first visit in well over a year on a late weekday morning tried a troika of chocolate-themed items. -- Chocolate Croissant: Not warm (and I wouldn't expect that past 9am), but very fresh feel, very slight greasiness on the bottom, plenty of flakiness on top, and decent fluffiness inside. A good bite, yielding plenty of croissant shrapnel, a light but pleasant buttery taste, and just the right amount of chocolate. A winner. -- Pain Swisse: This varied from others I've had, not having the typical stringiness around the perimeter that feels like raw pasta to the bite, but that was a plus. The bigger noticeable divergence was a much-lighter-than-typical custard presence inside, deferring to the dominant, high quality dark chocolate. The dough around it had good flavor and a nice light crunch, so whether central casting Pain Swisse or not, this satisfied. -- Chocolate Chip Cookie: An unusual rendition, with a dough darker than typical and also boasting some red tint hinting at red velvet. Soft, deliciously rich, and buttery, with the chocolate having a nice melt to it even late in the morning. Salt added some contrast without going overboard as some do. -- Coffee: High in temperature, acidity, viscosity, and flavor. A good match for their baked goods. Overall, still living up to the promise of the first visit, and taking some license with the classic recipes is fine by me with their high level of execution.

Michette is cranking out some of the best croissants here! You can smell the bakery while walking down the street. The wait in line to get inside wasn't bad at all! I got a ham and gruyere croissant, a bun with pistachio cream, and a raspberry matcha latte (I think this was on the special/seasonal menu!). Everything is for takeout only. The croissant was so flaky and literally melted in my mouth. The raspberry matcha latte was smooth and perfectly sweet. The pistachio cream bun was not sweet enough for me, but was soft and had a nice texture. I'd love to come back and try the plethora of other baked goods and drinks they have to offer!

Fantastic, flakey, and buttery pastries! This spot has a small coffee bar menu and daily variety of food. There is no indoor seating so plan to either sit outside if weather is nice or take back home with you. There are some meter parking spots out front. It is a bit on the pricey side but the product justifies the price point.

I'm in love, I'm obsessed (Rihanna voice). After a whole year later I finally made it back for my guava roll and tried the pistachio croissant and I love them both so much. I also got to try a breakfast focaccia and the passion fruit kouign amann which are good too. And I'm so excited that they are opening a new location near me!!! The somerville location is about a 30min walk each way... now they'll be a 10minute walk each way once they open in Cambridge. :D

Since moving to Somerville recently, Michette has become one of my favorite spots to grab a coffee and croissant to go. The space is very small, fit with a counter for check out and a display case with fresh baked goods of the day. This grab-and-go style bakery (no seating available) reminds me of the cute hole-in-the-wall cafes across Europe. Menu highlights : - Flaky and buttery croissants in multiple forms (sweet and savory) - Soft and flavorful focaccias offered in different styles - Other tasty treats like cookies, cinnamon rolls, etc.! - Delicious matcha lattes and pistachio lattes Every time I have stopped by I've been so happy with the service, and goodies! I will definitely become a regular here (:

I ordered their cold brew coffee and their croissant. The cold brew was pretty good. I had no complaints. The croissant was a bit too greasy/buttery for my liking/taste. One notable thing that stood out was that the service was quick! They are also very friendly and patient for a bakery that is soo busy. In terms of ambiance, it's a small bakery that has a vintage/traditional vibe.

Walked by here and saw a crowd outside this bakery and decided to check it out. It's a tiny space with a lot of fresh baked options to choose from. I picked a croissant with ham, Gruyère cheese and Dijon mustard baked into which was delicious. I was tempted to take it home and warm it up a bit but ended up sitting out from of the bakery and eating it right away. The maple coffee was also delicious. As I sat out front more and more people walked in, who seemed like this was part of their regular Saturday morning routine. This might become mine now too.

My go to cafe in this side of Somerville they have great pastries and solid drinks. I love that they also offer seasonal options as well. The space itself is small so it gets a little cramped and crowded when they get busy but the service is always quick so the line moves fast at least.

A simple cream cheese or salted butter spread, toasted is great. The texture is what sets it apart from other English muffins. I wish they lasted longer in the pantry. This one didn't have a long line that I knew their North End location would certainly be marked by. On our first visit, we tried a plain cannoli to have a baseline of what to expect. We also tried a pistachio macaron. On the second visit, we tried a red velvet whoopie pie and a pistachio cannoli. The cannoli's are fire. The shell is thick, crispy and they hold up. They're stuffed with sweet creamy ricotta. It's a perfect pairing of soft cream and a hard shell. This location had a few bar seats available at the window and against the wall. There's a huge window of sweet treats on display. I definitely recommend visiting, try a cannoli and get something to go. They have everything from lobster tails to Boston cream pie. I think it would take someone with a lot of will power to come here and walk out without getting something.

Mike's Pastry in Cambridge brings the famous North End bakery experience to Harvard Square, making…read moreit easy to enjoy their iconic pastries without heading into downtown Boston. Located on Dunster Street, the shop is designed for efficiency, with a straightforward layout that keeps the line moving even during busy hours. There are a few counter seats inside, but it's primarily a grab-and-go destination where most people leave carrying one of the bakery's signature string-tied pastry boxes. The cannolis are the main reason to visit, and they certainly live up to their reputation in terms of size. The classic chocolate chip cannoli is generously filled from end to end with a rich, sweet ricotta cream, while the crisp shell provides just the right amount of crunch. If you're looking for something a little different, the Florentine cannoli is an excellent choice. Its honey-nut shell adds an extra layer of texture and a subtle caramelized flavor that pairs beautifully with the creamy filling. Beyond the cannolis, the bakery offers an impressive selection of Italian pastries, cookies, cakes, and other desserts. The lobster tails are another popular option, with flaky layers surrounding a rich cream filling, and the display cases are filled with enough variety to make it difficult to choose just one item. Prices are a bit higher than your average neighborhood bakery, but the portions are generous enough that many pastries can easily be shared. Service is quick and efficient, with staff focused on keeping the line moving throughout the day. Since seating is limited, it's worth taking your pastries to nearby Harvard Yard or the Charles River, where you can enjoy them at a more relaxed pace. Mike's Pastry may be best known for its North End flagship, but the Cambridge location delivers the same oversized cannolis and classic Italian desserts in a much more convenient setting. Whether you're craving the original chocolate chip cannoli or one of their many other pastries, it's an easy stop whenever you're spending time around Harvard Square.
