Pho Rare Steak Soup (raw beef)
    Tony H.

Delightful Vietnamese restaurant in Coolidge Corner! There is metered street parking in front of the restaurant, and it is very close to the Coolidge Corner T stop. The inside of the restaurant felt cozy, and the waitstaff were courteous. There were a lot of options on the menu, but I had to go for the Rare Steak Pho ($13.50 for a large bowl). The broth was a little watery by itself, but it becomes very flavorful after you add all of the condiments and veggies. Would recommend whenever the pho craving hits!

Was in town for work and found this very yummy place! Highly recommend going and checking this place out! My PHO was so good and rich and tasty! The crab ragoon was also so yummy. Very fast and quick service.

    Lemongrass Pho Satay Soup

Looks very much like a 90s restaurant that has not been updated but a warm bowl of pho sure hits the spot when it's cold! I got the satay pho bowl (forgot the full name) and the warmth and spiciness of the broth was so cozy, I finished all of it! The small bowl was the perfect size for one very hungry person - the large or XL bowls are good for 1.5 very hungry persons. Great prices too ($10-12 per bowl). Their crab rangoons were also delicious with a hearty filling that had imitation crab, cream cheese, and scallions. Their menu looks like there are a lot of interesting things to try, particularly in the drinks and desserts section. Not too busy inside with some light instrumental music in the background. Metered street parking.

Loved this place. Very friendly staff. I had 5 glass of wine with my pho. It came SUPER hot and was very flavorful! This is my go to when Im on the way out of town to the airport!

I'm definitely a fan, but there are some things I'd do differently. My order: Roti Quail, Thai iced tea. Note: I ordered on Door Dash. The Thai iced tea hit every spot imaginable. It was packaged with care (extra plastic bag around it). It was a nice portion, and really a textbook beverage. The roti quail was also flavourtown. I thought it was a little "wet" for something roasted, but i'm not complaining- it was still tasty. I'd eat here again, only it was a little messy. (not recommended to eat near a computer).

Ambiance very classy. I felt like I was at an Italian restaurant for a second lol the iced Vietnam coffee was delicious. The fruit smoothies were very very sweet, delicious but sweet so keep that in mind. The vermicelli Pattie's were interesting, it came with rice paper to wrap it like spring rolls which was fun. The chicken was delicious with it. The pho noodles were a bit thicker than I'm used to but it was good. The shrimp spring rolls were ok.

This is not the place to go to if you want actual Pho. There was a poorly cut up cucumber and tomato, overcooked noodles, and no jalapeños offered.

Explain to me HOW this is $30 worth of food? I'm blown away. $3 to sub egg noodles. Cmon bro. I've never even written a review, this is crazy.

The only thing I'd say is that this is a bit pricier than some of the other Vietnamese places I've been to, but it's definitely a place I'll be back to often. Beef Pho ($15.95) - The broth here is great - so nice and savory. You can tell that it simmers for a really long time to get all of that flavor from the bones. It has a bit of a sweet note to it as well which is a bit more than I'm used to, but I really liked it still. There was a good amount of meat, and the whole soup experience was great, especially for takeout. They did skimp on the bean sprouts and herbs with takeout though - it was a pretty small amount of veggies, but still a really solid pho. Banh Mi ($9.75) - Yes, the price is a bit high for this one as well but the size was HUGE. The pickled veggies were perfectly sweet and tart, and the cilantro added a nice freshness with the cucumbers. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the balance of flavors here was really spot on. And, like I said, it was HUGE. Definitely not the cheapest Vietnamese food I've had, but also absolutely delicious - I will be back!

Spicy miso broth with tender slow cooked beef and all the toppings. The spice level actually enhanced the flavor instead of overpowering it. Deep savory and so satisfying. TAN TAN MEN One of my favorites. Spicy creamy broth with ground pork bok choy and bean sprouts layered over chewy noodles. Rich bold and full of flavor in every bite. I was a little skeptical at first with how extensive their menu is, reaching across different cuisines, but regardless if there's one thing they know it's soup. Pad Thai: Just like at Nine Tastes, my first bite was overwhelmed by the strong sourness... According to ChatGPT, American Southeast Asian restaurants may use concentrated tamarind sauce instead of the original tamarind-infused water, or reduce the sugar to suit American tastes, hence the extra sourness of Pad Thai. Learned something new! The shrimp was very fresh, firm and tender; the rice noodles were stir-fried with a great wok hei 鑊氣(wok aroma), and the portion was huge, but it got a bit oily towards the end. My favorite was the peanuts--they were incredibly fragrant, and not too finely ground, giving them a better texture. Also, a larger plate is really needed; it would be much easier to mix all the ingredients together. Drunken Noodles: The wide flat rice noodles were authentic. The spicy flavor added another layer of wok hei, and the thin layer of chili oil helped retain heat and enhance the aroma. Although a bit spicy, I felt it was the best of the three. Saigon Noodle: It felt like a combination of the two above, with a touch of sweet and sour and a hint of spicy, but neither was particularly prominent. It had a hint of sesame oil, but I personally don't really like sesame oil.
