Definitely not a Grilled Pork Sandwich

Definitely not a pork sandwich. The biggest issue - when I called to ask what it was (to decide if I should just eat it), the woman just kept yelling "grilled pork tomorrow" at me over and over. I was then hung up on as I tried to explain my question past the language barrier.

Pho Viet is the best! Have never had a bad meal here. The orders are ready quick and employees are pleasant. It used to be that you could sit down and eat here but now they just do take out. They have a good size menu and even an app you can order direct through. My go to food from here: - crab gangoon - lemongrass chicken with rice or vermicelli - pork banh mi sandwich - any pho

Was in the area yesterday and stumbled upon this gem next to the Newton Harvest Fair. The Com Suong Bi Cha plate was delicious: a great balance of flavors and textures. Also, generous with the protein portion. A satisfying and hearty meal on a perfect fall afternoon!

Pho Viet's II, the best Vietnamese food spot in the Newton area. Currently, they're only doing takeout orders (no dine-in). Staff prepares the food SUPER quick it's incredible. Took less than 10 minutes for our entire order to be ready. We tried their spring rolls with shrimp + beef, bun bo hue, lemongrass chicken leg rice plate, & lemongrass sliced beef rice plate. Overall, everything was solid and had perfect flavor. I wish that they included slices of white/yellow onions to put in my soup but there was only green scallions. Parking: Plenty of parking (meters) right outside and across the street. Totally recommend coming here if you're in the area and looking for authentic Viet food.

This is THE Vietnamese spot in the newton waltham area. Quick, easy and consistent. Being as viet food always is hard to judge when your folks chef it up heavy. I'm glad this family opened in newton. This location is takeout now, the staff, family that owns it and the bosses are all super sweet and service is top notch. We got the Bo Nuong, Ga nuong (chicken leg) lemon grass rice plates and the BBH (Bun Bo Hue). Also got the fresh spring rolls. The chicken thigh with rice marinated to perfection, taste the lemongrass and the grill of the chicken. It was juicy and a great portion with rice, hot sauce and fish sauce. One of the few i enjoy this particular dish from since DK in Chinatown closed! We also got the Bo (beef) version and the slices were plentiful, tender melting in mouth type! Veggies and pickled sides were all fresh, clean and eye appealing. The BBH had a good broth. The meat was tender, probably ask for some additional purple cabbage to go for the BBH next time but very enjoyable! The spring rolls were got beef and shrimp combo, i must say they are a Hefty lot!!! So you could get full off it haha welcome surprise and thank you Chi hai! Come thru if you want quality, efficiency, and kind service! Then go home and destroy the finger licking goodness!

We ordered lunch for pick up, a grilled chicken bahn mi and chicken and shrimp summer rolls- I wish they used the same chicken that was in the bahn mi for the summer rolls because the summer roll chicken was so hard and chewy... like it was over cooked? I asked for sriracha and was told there was already one in the pack, I asked for an extra and it maybe was a communication issue or they only give 1 per order but we def could've used another. The bahn Mi was tasty and everything but the chicken in the summer roll was good- I'll have to try the tofu summer roll next time, with extra sriracha

Delicious food and my favorite sandwich and Summer rolls. I only wish they would use softer bread or fresher otherwise I'd give it a 5

Their prices are reasonable for this type of homestyle fare, so you have no reason to give your money to a big chain owned by fat cats! ;) On weekends, the wait for table seating can be an hour-plus but there is a reason for this. We ordered popcorn chicken to start and devoured our bowls of soup: chicken and braised beef. Mine was the latter and I ended up ordering additional noodles and Chinese veggies so the delicious broth would not go to waste! My side order of noodles was a healthy portion. I also tried the pork wontons and we finished off our meal with the sesame seed "appetizer" balls (4 small pieces: 2 skewers with 2 each). Dine-in seating is limited but what they have is clean and simple. The complementary jasmine and green hot tea is delicious. Andy served us and was attentive and affable. I will definitely come back to try the salt and pepper pork chop many have written about!

As a family run restaurant , grandma and the rest of the family had a flight to catch to Taiwan the next day; all the ingredients are fresh to prep daily and sadly for some, they had to get turned away that night... I went heavy hitter mode, I was in the zone. I got the salt & pepper pork chop- wasn't going to eat the rice but as you can see from the pic below of the noodles- I licked the entire plate clean. This pork chop was perfectly seasoned and it was insanely tender. Very impressed with how tender and flavorful it was. Next up had the spicy wonton noodles; just truly amazing, idk what else to say. The noodles are perfectly cooked, super flavorful dish. The beef noodles were also incredible and the braised beef pieces stole the show in that bowl. I left zero room for any to go box. Service was amazing, they were super nice & I even got to say hello and compliment Grandma upon leaving. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I will definitely be back soon!

My…read morefriends and I usually plan one either the week before or after Thanksgiving, but most places that offer Thanksgiving catering only do so during the few days leading up to the big day. A couple of Friendsgivings ago I became determined to find a place where we could order catering in or around Newton where my friend hosts. After a little digging, I uncovered the gem that is Judith's Kitchen. Not only does Judith's Kitchen have oven roasted turkey breast and most of the standard Thanksgiving sides, but they have them year-round! Their full catering menu is quite extensive. That first year we ordered the turkey breast with gravy as well as the brussel sprouts, rosemary potatoes, and the butternut squash purée. The remaining sides we made ourselves. Let's just say everything was a massive hit. You pop everything in the oven to heat up and then they're ready to plate. It's so much nicer than making everything from scratch, especially the turkey. That quartet has become our regular Friendsgiving catering order. Placing an order is easy peasy as you do it with Judith herself (or you can do it online if you prefer). Just tell her what you want and for how many people and she'll let you know exactly the quantity you need. You do end up paying a bit of a premium considering we don't order a ton of food, but I think it's totally worth it for the convenience alone. I'd love to try their lunch offerings if I lived closer, but until then, Judith's Kitchen will be our go-to for Friendsgiving.

Not only was the man wearing…read morereading glasses who served me cold and unfriendly, but he also handed me my to-go sandwich without a bag or even napkins. Very unprofessional and disappointing. As a food critic, I must also note that the chicken salad sandwich was made with hard, chunky chicken and lacked any real flavor profile. I visited this restaurant with the intention of possibly doing a write-up on the quality of the food, ambiance, and overall value. Sadly, this place is among the worst I've tried this year. Please try Sandwich Works instead--they have the best sandwiches in Newton, and their staff is warm and incredibly friendly. Spend your money elsewhere.

Indeed the interior is not large at all, but still comfortable and with some truly beautiful decorations all around, especially the whole wall in front of where I was sitting, pictures below.
