Excellent meal at a reasonable price. Would go there again. The staff is very friendly.

The food and service was excellent even on a Saturday. For the area the prices were reasonable.

    Tuna Salad Sandwich

We were craving some classic sub sandwiches for lunch and decided to give this place a try. Parking is only available via metered street spots. They do not have their own lot. When you first walk in, you can see their menu clearly listed above the register where you place you're order. The menu selection and are quite large for a sandwich shop. They have cold, hot, and specialty sandwiches. They also offer some salads and a hot dog or two. They also 3-4 refrigerators filled with drink choices and sell chips (classic lays varieties and cape cod). Hidden amongst the drinks is a filtered water dispenser if you'd just like a cup of water. I ordered a classic tuna sub with lettuce, pickles, and yellow mustard. They also have the option of Dijon mustard. My husband ordered a cold cut Italian sandwich with all the toppings: lettuce, tomato, onions, hot peppers, oil and vinegar. We decide to eat at the place. Plenty of seating but our table was quite wobbly. Sandwiches were brought out pretty quickly (a pro since we were hungry). Another pro was the sandwiches were fully loaded with toppings and meats. Meats used here are deitz and Watson. Tuna was tasty and not overly drowned in mayo. Big con... the tasteless and stale sponge of a sub they were served on. Lunch cost $19 for the two subs and no drinks. Not bad, but pretty average sandwich in my opinion.

Tuna Salad with lettuce, onions and pickles with a side of Red Bliss Potato Salad!

Was working in the area and was looking for a good sandwich from some great people. Absolutely delicious tuna sandwich with a side of red bliss potato salad. 11/10 would recommend! Ordered the sandwich on a sub roll but found out they had ran out when I went to pick it up. Business expressed their apologies and put it on a bulky roll with extra tuna . Thanks again! Will be back!

3.5 stars. With voucher deal in hand, I popped into this sandwich shop to taste their wares. Two tables sat outside, but within was a goodly number of tables/chairs for what was presumably a primarily take-out place. With $14 to spend on food, I decided to get both sandwiches that sounded so good to me: Turkey Gobbler $7.99 Fresh turkey from the Outpost Farm in Holliston, MA, topped with stuffing, mayo, cranberry sauce, and lettuce Monte Cristo $7.59 turkey, ham, and Swiss cheese on lightly battered Texas Toast, grilled to a golden brown Bread options for the Gobbler mentioned to me were simple: White, Wheat, Multigrain, Sub, or Bulkie Roll. I opted for the bulkie roll, yes on the lettuce and mayo, and asked for some tomato. The Gobbler came cold but with irregularly carved slices of turkey, which were much lovelier to the eye than the cold cut thinly sliced turkey in the warm Monte Cristo. Both were tasty but could have been much improved with some slight changes, ie. warming the turkey and the stuffing in the Gobbler, and providing a side of maple syrup with the Monte Cristo for dipping. They offer smoothies for $3.79, made from either a mix or fruit juice.

They make a nice egg sandwich, and the coffee is good

This is a great spot in Newton center for a quick bite. The food is terrific, but what makes the place special is the staff. You will not find a more friendly helpful group. It's a hit n run kind of place, but they greet you warmly and get you on your way with a smile. Busy area, parking can be scarce. That's the only tricky part. I got lucky this morning right out front! A couple of egg sandwiches and a coffee fixed me right up! Thanks for that.

Their prices are reasonable for this type of homestyle fare, so you have no reason to give your money to a big chain owned by fat cats! ;) On weekends, the wait for table seating can be an hour-plus but there is a reason for this. We ordered popcorn chicken to start and devoured our bowls of soup: chicken and braised beef. Mine was the latter and I ended up ordering additional noodles and Chinese veggies so the delicious broth would not go to waste! My side order of noodles was a healthy portion. I also tried the pork wontons and we finished off our meal with the sesame seed "appetizer" balls (4 small pieces: 2 skewers with 2 each). Dine-in seating is limited but what they have is clean and simple. The complementary jasmine and green hot tea is delicious. Andy served us and was attentive and affable. I will definitely come back to try the salt and pepper pork chop many have written about!

As a family run restaurant , grandma and the rest of the family had a flight to catch to Taiwan the next day; all the ingredients are fresh to prep daily and sadly for some, they had to get turned away that night... I went heavy hitter mode, I was in the zone. I got the salt & pepper pork chop- wasn't going to eat the rice but as you can see from the pic below of the noodles- I licked the entire plate clean. This pork chop was perfectly seasoned and it was insanely tender. Very impressed with how tender and flavorful it was. Next up had the spicy wonton noodles; just truly amazing, idk what else to say. The noodles are perfectly cooked, super flavorful dish. The beef noodles were also incredible and the braised beef pieces stole the show in that bowl. I left zero room for any to go box. Service was amazing, they were super nice & I even got to say hello and compliment Grandma upon leaving. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I will definitely be back soon!

We came for a family dinner and of course Grandma Ding was with us in her wheelchair. We only smashed into a few chairs in the big, crowded dining room. And fortunately other customers were understanding while the staff was helpful and accommodating. The small, curious child running around the dining room without parental supervision didn't get hurt when I ran him over. The menu was huge so it took a long time to order with Grandma asking questions about every item. I could see that the waitstaff was used to quick orders and rapid food delivery to the table, but the waiter remained kind and patient. He also repeated his answers loudly when she couldn't understand his English and because she didn't have her hearing aides turned up. We finally ordered a giant wonton soup, eggplant with garlic sauce, a shrimp dish, and orange chicken; all to share. Everything was fresh, hot, tasty and delicious. Grandma Ding did have to ask for the soup to be heated up because she likes it to be scalding. The dining room is worn and dishes were flying in and out as items were served and cleared. It's definitely a place for family meals, not one for an engagement proposal or romance. Perfect for our evening. Portions are generous and prices competitive with other restaurants in the area. Parking on the street is the only difficulty, particularly when you have a nonagenarian to get into the restaurant. We will definitely be back.

On Sunday, they have a very strong takeout business, which also impacted the ambience. At one point there were like six people waiting in line at the entrance. In such a small establishment, it changes the vibe to have people hovering and getting impatient and clarifying orders, with the frequent entrance/exit of new patrons. Our table was closest to the entrance so we probably "felt" it more than other tables would have.
